This home and property is amazing. We loved it so much that we stayed for another night. There is so much to do around the property and the hosts are wonderfully accommodating. Whether you want adventure or relaxation, there is something for everyone here. There are pigs, horses, chickens, cats and dogs, hundreds of acres, fresh herbs and fresh home grown veggies, a perfectly decorated luxurious cottage, a stone pizza oven, hot tub, private creek, lush greenery, and more. Will most definitely be back!
This home and property is amazing. We loved it so much that we stayed for another night. There is so much to do around the property and the hosts are wonderfully accommodating. Great long weekend trip. We loved the cottage and the farm. Spent lots of time in the creek. My kids loved the pigs! Our favorite was sitting outside at night watching all the fireflies. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to get away for a couple days.

Absolutely love the cottage! Leigh and Jimmy are the most amazing and accommodating hosts. This was my second stay because I loved it so much the first time, and my second stay was just as wonderful. From the beautiful cottage, to the cute pigs from the kitchen view, to the creek, and garden with fresh herbs - this is the perfect getaway from everyday life. I wish I could live there! I will be back again

This home is absolutely beautiful and so well updated and furnished. The kitchen is beautiful and ever inch of space so well utilized. The trees were so beautiful all the fall colors and the cool weather made sitting outside on the beautiful porch very enjoyable and relaxing. The house is fully stocked with anything you might want/need. We were able to gather eggs from the chickens, fresh lettuce from the garden and pet all the friendly animals. The host and her husband are very gracious and friendly. So beautiful, would love to go back and spend the entire weekend. The only drawback is the property is very secluded so not convenient for activities other than onsite. We had reservations in Pulaski that evening and it was a little longer a trip than expected.

Jimmy and Leigh were the best hosts! When we arrived we had fresh eggs from their hen house waiting for us on the kitchen counter. The views were amazing and so was the creek! The hosts helped us with everything that we needed and even aired up our inter tubes when our air pump went out. If you love farms and want to get away from everything then you should come here! We enjoyed seeing the cows, hogs, chickens/roosters, horse, and their dog Luke was the sweetest! We floated on the creek and took hikes. When we relaxed at night we filled up the trough and enjoyed the firepit under the stars! This place is the best in so many ways!

The cottage and farm were just what we were looking for, and exactly as described. Our stay and accommodations exceeded our expectations. The hosts went above and beyond! With young kids, we enjoyed downtime to relax, beautiful views, and wide open spaces. This little gate cottage was a perfect getaway. Wonderful for rest and relaxation, reading on the porch, sipping a glass of wine, exploring the grounds, and just taking in the beauty of the surroundings. Leigh was very responsive and helpful. She really could not do enough to make sure our stay was perfect. The cottage was immaculate! I think Leigh and Jimmy should build a few more of these little gems and rent them out. What a lovely retreat!

This was arguably the best rental we have ever stayed in. The cottage is absolutely beautiful, a stunning blend of stonework (done with stone from the farm), antique furniture, modern luxuries and a cozy atmosphere. The kitchen packs functionality into a smaller space, but does not feel restrictive. We cooked most of our meals considering how far out of town we were, and never had a complaint. Everything you need is there!The cottage sits on the hill above a meadow with pigs and my granddaughters loved taking our kitchen scraps down to them each morning. We loved harvesting vegetables from the garden for our meals, and the meat raised on the farm is delicious!The creek was perfect for cooling off, and the girls found lots of cool rocks and treasures as they wandered upstream. The hosts, Jimmy and Leigh, were beyond welcoming and hospitable. They made sure to give us space, but we really enjoyed their company! They even had us over for supper a couple times during our stay.Overall, we can't say enough good things about our experience. The cottage is close enough to town that we went to Ardmore, Pulaski, Huntsville, and as far as Cullman and Ethridge (which has a wonderful Amish community- we got lots of groceries there)!We will certainly be back!

Loved our stay. We needed a getaway from everyday stresses. Gate cottage definitely is the place to destress. Enjoyed sitting outside in hot tub with a fire and looking at the stars. The view of the farm was amazing. The kitchen was great and complete with everything you need plus. Jimmy and Leigh were great host. Everything was perfect.

We booked the Gate Cottage for a two-person writing retreat. We needed a good space, good light, isolation, and a good place to walk and think. We had hoped to enjoy the "common area" of the farm but not sure what to expect. The experience was far beyond what we needed and hoped for. We got the great light, great space, FANTASTIC KITCHEN. And more! We swam in the creek, relaxed in the "hot tub," and shared amazing conversation and meals with our hosts, Jimmy and Leigh. We made friends!

We were in town for a weekend event and didn’t get to spend as much time at the cottage as we would have liked, but it was by far one of the nicest places we’ve stayed. Everything was very clean and organized. There was so much attention to detail and we had everything we needed and some. Side note, I always pack my own cookware, because it is usually not the best at places we stay, understandably, but it was a nice surprise to have something I could actually use including a well seasoned cast iron pan. Jimmy and Leigh were very welcoming and made us feel like family but still provided privacy. We felt secluded in the cottage, which we really enjoyed. The property was absolutely amazing between top of the hill views to the hidden stream, it was like something you see in a magazine. We will definitely be staying again next year if it is available.

Beautiful, modern and clean guest house in the rural Tennessee countryside. Perfect for 1 or 2 people who want to get off the grid and enjoy peace and quiet. Owners were very friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. Magnificent fully appointed kitchen. This property is exactly as advertised. No traffic, no neighbors, no noise. Reasonable driving distance to gas stations and grocery stores, but nothing in the immediate area.

My wife and I stayed at the Gate Cottage for two nights on our drive up North. We have stayed at several VRBOs, and none have been as well built, styled or welcoming as the Gate Cottage. Leigh and Jimmy (and Jack!) were INCREDIBLE hosts. The property is everything and then some. We wish we could’ve stayed longer but one thing is for sure, we’ll be back!

Loved our stay. We needed a getaway from everyday stresses. Gate cottage definitely is the place to destress. Enjoyed sitting outside in hot tub with a fire and looking at the stars. We booked the Gate Cottage for a two-person writing retreat. We needed a good space, good light, isolation, and a good place to walk and think. We had hoped to enjoy the "common area" of the farm but not sure what to expect. The experience was far beyond what we needed and hoped for. We got the great light, great space, FANTASTIC KITCHEN. And more! We swam in the creek, relaxed in the "hot tub," and shared amazing conversation and meals with our hosts, Jimmy and Leigh. We made friends!

My wife and I stayed at the Gate Cottage for two nights on our drive up North. We have stayed at several VRBOs, and none have been as well built, styled or welcoming as the Gate Cottage. We had the most perfect getaway here! The property is breathtaking and the guesthouse is so cozy- it looks like it’s straight out of a magazine. Leigh was so welcoming and all of the amenities are amazing. We especially enjoyed watching the sunrise up on the hill. We didn’t want to leave! :)

Absolutely love the cottage! Leigh and Jimmy are the most amazing and accommodating hosts. This was my second stay because I loved it so much the first time, and my second stay was just as wonderful. From the beautiful cottage, to the cute pigs from the kitchen view, to the creek, and garden with fresh herbs - this is the perfect getaway from everyday life. I wish I could live there! Jimmy and Leigh were the best hosts! When we arrived we had fresh eggs from their hen house waiting for us on the kitchen counter. The views were amazing and so was the creek! The hosts helped us with everything that we needed and even aired up our inter tubes when our air pump went out. If you love farms and want to get away from everything then you should come here! We enjoyed seeing the cows, hogs, chickens/roosters, horse, and their dog Luke was the sweetest! We floated on the creek and took hikes. When we relaxed at night we filled up the trough and enjoyed the firepit under the stars! This place is the best in so many ways!

We were in town for a weekend event and didn’t get to spend as much time at the cottage as we would have liked, but it was by far one of the nicest places we’ve stayed. Everything was very clean and organized. There was so much attention to detail and we had everything we needed and some. Side note, I always pack my own cookware, because it is usually not the best at places we stay, understandably, but it was a nice surprise to have something I could actually use including a well seasoned cast iron pan. Jimmy and Leigh were very welcoming and made us feel like family but still provided privacy. We felt secluded in the cottage, which we really enjoyed. The property was absolutely amazing between top of the hill views to the hidden stream, it was like something you see in a magazine. We will definitely be staying again next year if it is available.

This little gate cottage was a perfect getaway. Wonderful for rest and relaxation, reading on the porch, sipping a glass of wine, exploring the grounds, and just taking in the beauty of the surroundings. Leigh was very responsive and helpful. She really could not do enough to make sure our stay was perfect. The cottage was immaculate! I think Leigh and Jimmy should build a few more of these little gems and rent them out. What a lovely retreat!

This was arguably the best rental we have ever stayed in. The cottage is absolutely beautiful, a stunning blend of stonework (done with stone from the farm), antique furniture, modern luxuries and a cozy atmosphere. The kitchen packs functionality into a smaller space, but does not feel restrictive. We cooked most of our meals considering how far out of town we were, and never had a complaint. Everything you need is there!The cottage sits on the hill above a meadow with pigs and my granddaughters loved taking our kitchen scraps down to them each morning. We loved harvesting vegetables from the garden for our meals, and the meat raised on the farm is delicious!The creek was perfect for cooling off, and the girls found lots of cool rocks and treasures as they wandered upstream. The hosts, Jimmy and Leigh, were beyond welcoming and hospitable. They made sure to give us space, but we really enjoyed their company! They even had us over for supper a couple times during our stay.Overall, we can't say enough good things about our experience. The cottage is close enough to town that we went to Ardmore, Pulaski, Huntsville, and as far as Cullman and Ethridge (which has a wonderful Amish community- we got lots of groceries there)!We will certainly be back!

This Gate Cottage was what I expected and more. Owners thought of everything you would not think of. We even had fresh eggs in the kitchen when we arrived. Very peaceful and relaxing. Loved seeing fireflies and the Milky Way.

This home is absolutely beautiful and so well updated and furnished. The kitchen is beautiful and ever inch of space so well utilized. The trees were so beautiful all the fall colors and the cool weather made sitting outside on the beautiful porch very enjoyable and relaxing. The house is fully stocked with anything you might want/need. We were able to gather eggs from the chickens, fresh lettuce from the garden and pet all the friendly animals. The host and her husband are very gracious and friendly. So beautiful, would love to go back and spend the entire weekend. The only drawback is the property is very secluded so not convenient for activities other than onsite. We had reservations in Pulaski that evening and it was a little longer a trip than expected.

The cottage and farm were just what we were looking for, and exactly as described. Our stay and accommodations exceeded our expectations. The hosts went above and beyond! With young kids, we enjoyed downtime to relax, beautiful views, and wide open spaces. From time at the creek, to playing in the hay fort, to walking the farm, and checking on the animals-it was hard to leave! Thank you for sharing your farm with us. This home and property is amazing. We loved it so much that we stayed for another night. There is so much to do around the property and the hosts are wonderfully accommodating. Whether you want adventure or relaxation, there is something for everyone here. There are pigs, horses, chickens, cats and dogs, hundreds of acres, fresh herbs and fresh home grown veggies, a perfectly decorated luxurious cottage, a stone pizza oven, hot tub, private creek, lush greenery, and more. Will most definitely be back!

We loved harvesting vegetables from the garden for our meals, and the meat raised on the farm is delicious!The creek was perfect for cooling off, and the girls found lots of cool rocks and treasures as they wandered upstream. The hosts, Jimmy and Leigh, were beyond welcoming and hospitable. They made sure to give us space, but we really enjoyed their company! They even had us over for supper a couple times during our stay.Overall, we can't say enough good things about our experience. The cottage is close enough to town that we went to Ardmore, Pulaski, Huntsville, and as far as Cullman and Ethridge (which has a wonderful Amish community- we got lots of groceries there)!We will certainly be back!

We booked the Gate Cottage for a two-person writing retreat. We needed a good space, good light, isolation, and a good place to walk and think. We had hoped to enjoy the "common area" of the farm but not sure what to expect. The experience was far beyond what we needed and hoped for. We got the great light, great space, FANTASTIC KITCHEN. And more! We swam in the creek, relaxed in the "hot tub," and shared amazing conversation and meals with our hosts, Jimmy and Leigh. We made friends!

This Gate Cottage was what I expected and more. Owners thought of everything you would not think of. We even had fresh eggs in the kitchen when we arrived. Very peaceful and relaxing. Loved seeing fireflies and the Milky Way.
