The Westin Tempe

Great property but weekends it a little party scene. Do not book a room on the 17th floor as the bar/club is above and you can hear it all. Also the pool is third party owned and run and they have private events that close the pool to only 21+. Great for adults but not so great for a family with a 10 year old that wants to go swimming at 8PM. We also didn’t receive notice a private event was going on during our stay so we would have planned accordingly. Otherwise staff is nice and property is clean.

great room and hotel. Great location. It is in the middle of the university zone, so weekend nights you can hear the club music and crowds a bit. Parking was surprisingly expensive though.

All around a great hotel for the prize. Great terrace on 18th floor with a bar and pool, big screen. On weekends they have a dj. Downtown in a walkable area. Outstanding for the price. $45 a night for valet parking I thought a little high.

Beautiful and elegant place to stay at. Hotel offers commentary vouchers for drinks and food to accommodate our stay. Love that! The rooftop was awesome with a bar and lounge chairs to sit and relax while sipping on your drinks. Rooms very spacious and clean 100 %. Hotel only has valet parking and had pay extra. That was only thing that I wasn’t aware of but other than that place was excellent.

Tempe in August is too hot so the roof top pool was a must have. Very clean and nice staff.

The pool didn’t open at the time it was supposed to most days. for July 4, they had a party open to the public, which had the pool pack like sardines. so me being a guest im inconvenienced. so I get up early the next morning to try to get in the pool and it’s a delay in opening it due to cleaning. (they gave me breakfast for the inconvenience.) but then the next day at seven it’s not open again, maintenance was still scrubbing the floor at about 730. I got in about eight and the pool was dirty, hair floating. I went back to my room and scrubbed. The hotel itself is very nice and clean, but them opening the pool to the public for parties as an inconvenience to the guest. The pool is not big enough. Saturday they had another event and I went to the rooftop to get a drink and I was asked to show my room key and my ID which i hadnt had to do in the past. The guy that asked me for it was rude! Overall the experience was ok but I dont know if id return.

I loved the rooftop pool but the bar tender was not very pleasant. The rest of the staff at the Westin were amazing though. Just the female bar tender at the rooftop bar was extremely rude.

The room was comfortable and clean. There were options to dining in walking distance. Only bad thing is parking for hotel is expensive.

Overall this was a fantastic stay. So clean and modern. The upstairs pool/lounge was super crowded and icky. It is understandable in regards to the crowding aspect, as it was the 4th of July weekend. But I would have appreciated if the staff was cleaning up as people left or around them. There were cups and towels kind of strewn about and it gave me a dirty feel. Everything else was impeccable about our stay.

The hotel overall was nice but our bathroom was filthy with dried throw up on the walls and the floor grout joints were brown from high traffic and clearly not doing a deep clean between guests. Lacking attention to detail like amenities for bathroom and sleeping. The restaurant for dinner was fantastic and our best meal however breakfast fell short both days and was a night and day difference in quality.

There was trash behind the couch the was next to the window, when I went to close the curtains you could see the trash. I tried to call downstairs to have it fixed but the phone in my room didn’t work. I tried calling the hotel from my cell phone (I was already in my pjs or would’ve walked downstairs) but no one ever answered. There was also hair on the shower wall. When I checked out I told the gal at the front desk who said sorry. Seriously that’s it? Sorry? No can I do something to make it better? Nothing. I will definitely be staying at The Omni from now on in Tempe

Super modern trendy hotel in downtown Tempe. Loved the coffee, breakfast, room and pool.

Our room was constantly warm. I tried to lower the temp on thermostat but it only lets you lower it so much. It was 78 or higher in our room the entire time. I also would have loved to sleep in a little but you could hear someone using a jack hammer 8 am on a Sunday morning somewhere in the building. It was not outside because we were on a higher floor.

TV did not work in my room. Room 1109 and did everything to make it work. Everything else was nice and enjoyed the stay. It was great to be able to walk from room to travel agent training the next morning on 2nd floor. Great ballroom and event space. I was supposed to have a balcony room, that was what I booked and paid for, but didn’t receive it.

This was a beautiful property in a great location. Valet and check-in were a breeze. I had a great room on the 11th floor with an amazing view. I went up to the rooftop pool in the evening with the plan to have a drink and stay a bit, but stayed for two hours enjoying the weather and the view. There were two small downsides. There was not a “do not disturb” sign in my room, so at first I assumed they did not have them, but I saw other rooms with them later. On the first morning, housekeeping came at about 8:45 and I said “not right now, thank you!” I left about an hour later and was gone until 4:30. When I arrived back housekeeping had never come back. Not a huge deal, but 8:45 is pretty early on a vacation to be the only opportunity for housekeeping. The second downside I found out the second night. I had a room that had a conjoining door to the room next door, but was traveling solo. A family checked in and I could hear every single word the kids and parents said through the walls and it did not sound like they were yelling. I was honestly a little uncomfortable watching shows that were not child-friendly! While the hotel was otherwise beautiful, this could be a dealbreaker for me if I were not traveling solo as I am a private person! I know that it’s not something the Westin can really change, but it is something I would want to be aware of as a traveler!

We had a standard king and it was an excellent room. All the amenities you would want. Rooftop bar/pool area has a spectacular view of Phoenix at night.

Fire alarm blinking all night in room and shower faucet had a super loud drip.

Can not turn off the AC. It automatically turns back on and changes temperature to 68, also made lots of noise. Nightmare

The check in staff person was exceptional. He was very police, knowledgeable and friendly. He represents the Westin brand really well. This new Westin is beautiful!

There is construction around the building which makes for valet only parking, however we very much enjoyed our stay. The staff made our anniversary stay very nice with extras and even upgraded our room for us! We will definitely stay here again! Big thanks to all the staff for making our 10 year and amazing experience!

Foods whatever. You can “free” drink vouchers but the baristas and bar tenders play favorites. So you might get a whole real drink or nothing. Customer service claims it’s the maids rights not to make the beds. So they leave dirty rooms and they’re rude.

This was the best hotel my husband and I have stayed in. The food was great and the service was amazing, the room was clean and comfortable, valet service was great. Will definitely be staying here again.

From check in to check out my stay was terrible rude non compliant staff managers that lie and still charge for nonessential items super slow internet which makes working online impossible and they scam you with “ daily credits that you are charged for therefore they are not a credit even charging for services they cannot provide and when asked about the services and charges they get defensive and hot water issues on one of my days from 9am to 6pm my room had no hot water was I compensated for my inconvenience no had to seek accommodations else where

The front staff was HORRIBLE!!! No name tags, but two girls running the front desk ruined the stay for us. Did not even mind its 47$ to park plus tip cause it’s valet parking only. That would have been bad even but the staff was just rude,disrespectful, never smiled or would even look you in the eye. CRAZY because it’s such a nice hotel!

Great location

Excellent property, newly built, loved the rooftop bar which had amazing views. Beds were very comfortable. Can’t go wrong with the location near the college and restaurants.

the only parking available for guest was valet only. which cost 42 extra dollars added to your room bill. failed to state this on their website. the hotel is close to the university so, lots of people, crowded streets and homeless around the area.

It's located in downtown Tempe and right next to ASU. Everything we need is conveniently close within walking distance.

Great stay....i just dont understand the 20% gratuity for service at dinner ....its NOT credible...it doesnt make sense....for room service i understand it Not at dinner. $42 dollar vip parking fee. Travel fee $31 or $36 NOT necessary....what does the hotel pay for????? Why am i paying so many extra fees. Sorry i wont be staying here again and i will steer all my friends away from here or at least warn them of All the extra fees. Time to go see if the other hotels are the same?!

The room was wonderful and appointed well. We ate at the restaurant Terra and it was magnificent! The short rib was so tender and flavorful. Bed was comfortable and pillows were also comfortable. Rooftop bar and pool was amazing at night.

The breakfast tickets were not enough to cover a party of two. When you opt in to purchase breakfast, it would be nice to have breakfast fully covered. Other than that, it was truly amazing.

Off season stay in a great location. Clean, friendly, beautiful decor. Only complaint: They heavily advertised a Super Bowl Rooftop Party but were ill prepared. We got there early, and there was a shortage of chairs, drink menu items not available, and things like napkins a scarcity. Manager seemed uninterested in our requests.

Nice vibe near the university in downtown Phoenix. Loved the sky terrace with a small pool, food, and drinks. On Sat they had a DJ we enjoyed his choice od music. Reception offers vouchers for drinks and food on the terrace. Nice deal. Avoid the restaurant. Little choice, expensive, and poor quality.

The property is in a great location in the heart of Tempe, located pretty much walking distance to everything. The lobby and hotel are great and there's a convenient coffee shop attached to the hotel. The only problem I had (and the reason five stars weren't given) is because of the service at the restaurant. The service from my server was slow, food wasn't that good for the price and my order was inaccurate. I would certainly stay there again but bypass on the restaurant. Also know, that there isn't any self or free parking and it's all valet. Keep that in mind from a pricing perspective that it's about $40 per night. Just a tad pricey.

One of the best hotel stays I’ve ever had. My only issue was parking… Our entire stay it was full so we had to find someplace else to park. Then there was a Starbucks linked to the hotel and both times me and my wife went it was the worst customer service from the hotel. On top of that very dry and bland pastries and the coffee was decent one day it was good the other was bad I would just suggest getting coffee while your out. Other than those two gripes wow! I had the best Amaretto sour at the lobby bar with some top tier customer service. The lobby staff was always helpful and kind. The entire place was just gorgeous and full of life. The rooftop was a great hangout spot it was a little small but still very fun especially at night. Our room was clean, comfy and full of little things that just made you feel special. We did not have any food here because it was saying breakfast was $79 dollars per person when I was booking…. I suggest having a nice little walk down to First watch which is very close for your coffee and breakfast. Then tons of good food joints around the hotel as well. I will definitely be going here again!
