We enjoyed our time in this comfortable and peaceful environment. Mark, the host, is friendly and very responsive to questions and the few issues that arose. The kitchen is well appointed and a fun place in which to cook and share meals with friends. The living room furniture and beds are very comfortable. Because we visited during warm weather, we did not use the fireplace or wood stove.

We visited in a shoulder season so it was cold in the mornings. The fireplace was fantastic. The kitchen is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen in a vacation rental. And the porch was a really nice place to enjoy some sun and warmth in the afternoon. Mark messaged me right away when I asked a question. Wonderful place to stay.

Our 3rd year returning to this wonderful home in Calais! The close proximity to Montpelier and Stowe is a blessing, but the best part is hitting that dirt road on the way to the house. The community is so welcoming, always offering a wave or a smile. The house is situated on a gorgeous piece of land, walking distance to Curtis Pond. We snowshoed the quarter mile down to the pond through 2 feet of pure VT powder - identifying animal prints amongst the birch trees in the snow along the way. Our children (and us adults!) love the sledding hill on the side of the house. The house itself has everything you need, and more! It fits our family of 4 perfectly, but would easily accommodate 2 families! We immediately feel settled when we pull up to the house. Mark is a great host and very attentive. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a true New England escape.

A Winter Wonderland ,just what we expected. All the ammenties were avaliable and greatly appreciated for a 4 night stay.WiFi was good, two fireplaces but we only set them up as backup in case we lost electricity during the winter storm .No problems, warm and comfortable. The driveway was plowed for our arrival. Our Hosts really thought of everything to make us comfortable. Most people probably visit in summer, but this was our Christmas getaway and it couldn't of been more Merry. Thank you!
