Seems like a family run old-school style hotel. The staff are cool, the breakfast is nice. Remember to do a full old-style check out before calling a taxi because they don't hold a card to take off items in the room like drinks/snacks. So just be aware they operate like that and not a large hotel chain. I would recommend just having a store by the front desk instead of items in the rooms that you can take for a charge. There are 3 keys you have to keep up with - front gate, another for front door, then another key for the room. Located in a nice neighborhood with a nice view of the sea - the staff is very nice and work very hard so it's definitely worth your trip and the value was really good for what you got.

We loved this hotel immediately. The ambiance of the place and especially the friendly and helpful staff. A small cosy boutique hotel tucked away high up in La Recreo with swimmingpool, jaccusi and splendid views. We loved it. Super Good!!

Stayed 5 nights

The hotel has no AC and my room, while having a lovely view, would be 85 degrees F in the afternoon and early evening. The "fan" in the room barely worked, making the room inhospitable. It claimed to have a restaurant other than breakfast - it consisted of 3 items. The one I selected, lasagna, was a grocery microwaved dish which I only had when the guy at the front desk couldn\'t help me order delivery and didn\'t tell me that there was a grocery around the corner (the location is terrible in terms of convenience). I paid for 5 nights and left after 2 as I couldn\'t sleep in that heat. While I don\'t expect everyone in a foreign country to speak English, the "front desk clerk" didn\'t even understand the term "check out". A couple I was traveling with had a toilet that wobbled and was unsafe and they didn\'t even try to fix it. It was so bad I didn\'t even ask for my money back for the remaining 3 nights and checked into the Sheraton which was great.
