No microwave in room, bathroom light kept coming on the minute you stepped in bathroom. Taking a shower and the bathroom lights turned off on me in the middle of my shower. Had to take the rest of my shower in the dark. Requested a top floor room when i booked and they had me on a different floor if i wouldn't have said anything. Very unhappy with my stay. The door to the room would slam shut so loud and would wake me up while i was sleeping. The fridge in the room kept making noises and we kept thinking it was someone at the door. Not a very relaxing stay like we thought. The pool also did not work while we whete there.

This hotel is very clean and updated. Simple yet functional design. Everything you need for a comfortable stay. No microwave in room but there’s one in the main area. Chaz was friendly and informative.

We were looking for a bargain place to stay on the last leg of a long road trip, and this hotel was a pleasant surprise. Our room was comfy and practically laid out, and the shower was great. The gym has all the basics, and the continental breakfast is enough for a good start to the day. I also appreciated the eco-friendly refillable soaps, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, rather than the tiny disposable bottles. Our view was of a medical building under construction, but since we just needed a place to stay, this was no big deal. For the price, you’re not going to do better than this!

Erin at the front desk was the friendliest person I have ever encountered in my travels. There’s an indoor pool that was very welcoming. We were visiting family in Zeeland and were able to invite our grandchildren to come over and swim. The coffee was delicious

Same every time. Convenient location. Would like a microwave and coffee. However, coffee convenient on main floor all the time. Really has all you really need. Like the cleanliness. No carpet in room. I like that. There may be cheaper places but I like cleanliness of this place and especailly the location and easiness of finding it. Close to Holland and Grand Rapids.

We always love this hotel! Staff are super friendly. They have a great gym and clean pool area.

Good stay! Staff was very friendly and whole hotel was extra clean. Pool was small, but looked inviting and was heated. Booked because I thought it was very close to downtown Holland, with its good shopping stores, but it was farther than I thought. I would book again.

Always super easy to check in and work with the front desk. My stays here have been pleasantly consistent, and I appreciate the open coffee bar and gym.

Excellent staff, very clean, good breakfast options, close to freeways, very quiet rooms even though we were next to younger children, we did not hear them. The pool and fitness was just enough to serve their purpose. We’ll definitely be back

The room was clean, no issues whatsoever. The staff was friendly and helpful. Zeeland offered a quieter atmosphere than the busyness of Holland.

The bed was awful, you could hear the springs with every movement. There was dirty floors and sheets. You could hear every conversation through the walls.

We enjoyed our stay at Avid Hotel in Zeeland MI. Our only negative was our room was very dirty esp the floors!

The hotel was kind of in a remote area not very close to anything. Pros: property was clean. Cons: there was no housekeeping service during our stay. Even though we asked housekeeping to clean our room. We didn’t even receive clean towels. We had to go down to the front desk to get towels multiple times. Also the breakfast included was not much of a breakfast. I expected better service from a hotel that was close to $600 for a two night stay and we were very disappointed.

This seems to be a new property with some kinks to work out. We had small ants in our room the first night, coffee was not good and shampoo was empty the whole time we were there.

The hotel was decent. The only problem was it wasn’t very clean. The walls had stuff all over them and the floors were still pretty dirty. The sheets had stains on them.

If you like modern, clean designed building then this would be your go to hotel in Holland! Clean, staff is great, modern, and blackout currents are phenomenal!!! Only downside no carpet in rooms so you will get more noise in the room.

The only negative thing was that I hear a lot of what was going on upstairs, in the halls, etc. So my first night was rough because it was very full and I heard a lot of noise. I had to use my earplugs and white noise machine to be able to fall asleep, so I was grateful I had those both with me.

We have stayed at this hotel several times and always had a wonderful stay. This time was different. We struggled to get online, didn’t have hand soap and the rooms no longer have microwaves. The front desk person immediately gave us hand soap, explained that it was against company policy to have microwaves in the rooms anymore and helped with the internet connection. During our 3 night stay the hotel Wi-Fi would pop on very rarely and only stay in for a minute or less causing us to use our limited phone data. I took screenshots of what the internet was doing and mentioned it to the front desk every morning and evening. The Wi-Fi worked fine in the lobby and other locations around town on our phones. Our last night, the man at the desk said that we had to call tech support from our room. (Not told before) We declined since it was late and we were leaving in the morning. We were also told the manager did something earlier in the day to make internet work. It didn’t and I texted the front desk to let them know. The next morning we were told that a member of management would contact us and almost a week later, I am still waiting to be contacted. I’m not sure why we weren’t offered a room with working internet since we were told we were the only ones who were complaining about it. It’s also frustrating that manager didn’t reach out to us during our stay or after as we were assured she would. Front desk staff was very nice , room was quiet and clean and breakfast was good.

Basic accomodations. Excellent staff. Clean. Decent basic choices for breakfast. Small refrigerator in each room, no coffee maker in the room. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate available in the lobby 24 hours. The coffee is made fresh in a Bunn but you can't choose how you like it and it's terrible. My husband and I were in a room with a king size bed. The bed took up most of the room. Only one chair. There are built INS to put your luggage on that double as seats, but they are not comfortable. Bathroom is large, nice shower, not much water pressure, but that seems to be the case in most hotels. Lights are motion senored in the bathroom which I found to be very annoying. Whem my husband got up in the middle of the night these very bright lights would wake me up. The lights in the main room however are not adequate. The smoke detector is over to the side of the bed and blinks all night. Light comes in from all around the main entry door to the room, I like to sleep in total darkness and had to put a towel at the bottom of the door sndcould still see everything in the room. Hotel is not insulated very well so be prepared to hear the people above walk across the floor and every door on your hall way open and close, as well as outside sounds. Bed was comfortable, decents towels, shampoo etc provided. This is a staff friendly clean hotel. It has a pool and exercise room. I would stay in an AVID again, but would ask for the quietest room and bring my own coffee.

The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. The room ia very small though. It’s one of the smallest hotel room I’ve ever stayed. There’s no coffee maker in the room at all.

Facility was clean and new. However, the walls are so thin. You can hear everything from the rooms next you and above you. I could hear people’s conversations, foot steps, toilet flushing, and everything. My family is not so sensitive and tired so it was not a big issue. However if you are traveling with infants or if you are sensitive with sounds, it might be a difficult stay.

Clean, new, modern facility. Nice staff. No wifi though- it wasn't working throughout our stay.

Hotel was very noisy. Could hear talking in neighboring rooms, closing doors, trucks on highway. Motion sensing lights in bathroom were annoying. Blinding at night time and went off during shower.

Before choosing this hotel I read the reviews, which were all great. The issue (problem) was, my disappointment in the 'starkness' of the room. There is no closet. There are no drawers. In place of a closet there are hooks on the walls. In place of drawers, there are two shelves! One at floor level. So if you want to unpack your suitcase, you have to store your underwear on the shelf at floor level! Older people just can't do that... and don't want to! You can't really just 'live out of your suitcase', because there is no luggage rack or floor space to put it. The room was about 12' x 11'. Smaller than a cabin on a cruise ship. I hope this review helps people in the future. I found nothing of this nature when I was doing my research. Just know what you are getting.

No one at the front desk for nearly 20min on arrival…. Then a couple hours later, again gone for 15-20mins trying to buy drinks. Other patrons also wandering around knocking on back doors trying to get help.

Easy booking, prompted service on arrival. Staff is very friendly. It a convenient location for all kinds of activities. From hiking to dinning you can't go wrong.

Great staff at the front desk. Hotel is clean and well maintained.

Check-in took 15-20 minutes despite being the only guests checking in. After 5 minutes, when I asked if there was a problem with my reservation, the clerk raised his voice and was clearly frustrated. When he saw the surprised look on our faces for his outburst, he changed his tone and was a bit nicer. Not a friendly experience and very embarrassing for us as we stood there. We stayed 4 nights and noticed that they didn’t clean the room or bring fresh towels after the first day. We asked for our room to be cleaned on the next day - as the floor felt sandy and dirty to your feet. We were told if we wanted towels we would have to come down and get them. At the end of each day when we got back to the hotel our room was not cleaned - and each night we would ask that for our room to be cleaned. We were even told we were on their “list” for housekeeping to clean. And each night we would find the room not cleaned with dirty towels still on floor. Each night we were also told to come down stairs to get clean towels. The funny thing is that outside the elevators on the first floor is a large sign/mural highlighting a guarantee that your room will be good. When we checked out, we spoke with manager and shared our experience - to which he simply said sorry. He said they have been having “problems with housekeeping”. I’m not sure what the guarantee entails but it doesn’t appear that such a guarantee actually exists. I think there are better - perhaps more affordable - options nearby.

We were looking for a hotel at the last minute that was close to Saugatuck and Holland, but not too expensive, and the Avid checked all the boxes. The staff is incredible (especially Dee and Austin; so friendly and helpful). Loved the breakfast - easy to-go options with lots of choices. The hotel is contemporary and bright, which I like. We will be back.

Clean hotel. Rooms, hallways, pool area, and coffee area, all clean and up-kept. Located in a quiet area, with a couple of eating options and a convenience store in close proximity. Chaz the front office (and the only staff in the hotel) was nice and helpful, but I had a bad experience, I requested that my room be cleaned and linens replaced, asked 2 house keeping persons in the hallway, and called and reminded the frontdesk in person when I was leaving for the day, but it wasn't touched when I returned after a long tiring day. Chaz apologized but was all by himself at the hotel and couldn't do much at that time, offered us to be moved to a different room, which I did but it was 2 levels up, and moving everything that was unpacked for a 2-night stay was much undesirable and unpleasant experience.

There’s a very noisy soy plant other side of the highway but we were not disturbed in the night; whether it gets quieter at night or the room deadens enough I don’t know, but no concern. A nice Thai restaurant is nearby.

The Avid was an excellent place to stay, with a pool and other amenities and a cool vibe I didn’t expect to find for the price. The surrounding area was mostly construction and nothing to write home about. But inside it’s an excellent hotel with terrific service.

The hot breakfast was the same both days. The potatoes were cold and the meat was bacon crumbles both mornings. Would much rather had sausage or bacon strips than the crumbles. On the other hand the coffee was very good.

The staff were amazing especially Erin up front. From the time we arrived to the time we left the customer service was there with a friendly smile and helping hands. The facility was very clean, the room was small but it had everything we need it I am very picky when it comes to the bathroom and the one in our room was very clean. The breakfast was quite Surprisingly good. They had name brand products like Chobani yogurt, Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, Quaker oatmeal, they had Boiled eggs, egg white omelettes, and cereal and juice. Overall if we ever go back to Zeeland we will definitely be staying here again. We were very satisfied.Thank you for a good weekend

This hotel was a nice option to stay out of Holland but still about the same driving distance to downtown. The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms were clean. Breakfast wasn't great but pretty on par for a free breakfast. Access to filtered water, coffee and tea all day/night was a definite perk.

Never heard of avid before this stay. Check in was super easy. Room was clean and nice. Lots of lighting. Rooms are extremely efficient and have everything you need. Huge tv. It’s a safe, quiet area. Staff was kind and attentive. Breakfast was great with unique items other hotels usually don’t have. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. Everything works! Great value for the price. We need more hotels like this! Would definitely stay again!

Friendly and knowledgeable desk staff who made some good dining recommendations. Very clean property and room. Breakfast was not my favorite as it was mostly cold items with the option of a very small premade omelet. First day we went down early for breakfast and all items were available. However, the second day they were out of yogurt when we came down towards the end of breakfast as well as out of other things. Rooms are smaller than what I’m used to. However I would stay here again as it was a good value.
