Absolutely great hotel central, huge rooms, nuce staff, coffee shop, and great restaurant/speakeasy bar/piano bar in house with cool concerts, close to subway stops of the 1 and CE lines, very very quiet for a great location in Hell’s Kitchen close to the park, Time Square and the Theatre District, and the MoMa. Always cabs and ride-hailing services in front and garage right next to it. This is for me a 10 over 10… And I never liked to give maximum grades.

Lovely and helpful staff. Very nice coffee shop situated by the lobby. Location was great for accessing all the sights of Manhatten. There were some minor issues with the elevators, but the team at the hotel opened up the service elevator and fixed the issues very quickly. Would highly recommend this hotel!

Wow. An absolutely exceptional value. Everything from the communication ahead of arrival, the front lobby (looks and even smells great), the check-in staff (courteous, thorough, knowledgeable), the bellhops (fast, professional), the room size (huge for NYC), the cleanliness, the price, and the LOCATION. Everything we hoped for. Our party checked in two rooms, which the staff was able to locate next to each other. A short walk to Times Square. Immediate access to public transportation. Hotel offers access to a local gym and complimentary time on bicycles. Definitely a consideration the next time we travel to NYC.

Perfect hotel for a NYC getaway. Cons - no onsite gym, no coffee maker in rooms, no bar/restaurant, and lastly, bc they are a smaller boutique hotel you aren't going to get those NYC skyline views Pros - they partner with a gym down the street so you can get a day pass, i don't drink coffee, they have a cafe with a coffee shop and also wine/beer, the lobby smells heavenly, rooms are huge, no elevator wait!!! We loved it here and will stay again.

Romers is well located for tourists wishing to get around New York, being easy walking distance to the Times Square area and not too far from many NY attractions. The hotel is well kept and rooms quite large however, there are limited facilities. They give you an option to visit a gym a couple of blocks away and also give you bike tickets which is also several blocks away. The ground floor coffee shop is inadequate for a large hotel and service there was poor.

Location was amazing!!!! Pictures are a bit misleading looked for the piano bar never saw one. Convenient parking next door in garage (does cost). Elevator not always working, but was shown the service elevator. Again location was perfect service was fine.

We booked a city view room through Expedia but were given a rooftop view instead. The bathroom had very few towels for four people, and there wasn’t enough space to place extra towels — the small table wasn’t enough, so the towels ended up on the floor. We also found trash like used tissues and empty bottles behind the TV. Only the hotel lobby was clean and stylish — the rest was disappointing

It was an overall average experience for a hotel, but due to the extraordinarily high price and some dissatisfaction, it became a poor experience. 1. We found hairs in the towels on the first day we moved in. 2. The windows are not soundproof at all. We understand that NYC is loud at night, but a luxury hotel should have blocked that sound. 3. We lost some personal items that were placed on our bed, we reported this case to the front desk manager and there was no response at all. We also asked the person who cleaned our room that day, and she just kept stating that she did not see it, trying to run away from us. Some good points: the hotel is located in Hell's Kitchen, so food options are plentiful. There's also a really cool piano bar in the neighborhood.

I wish I selected lowest reviews when searching the reviews of this hotel. They are participating in a scam where they charge you a fine for smoking. Now, I read other reviews by people stating this, but just figured they lied, and actually smoked in the room. I was devastated to get the fine, as neither myself or my husband smoke. They will not budge on it either. This lead me to contact numerous places including the BBB to warn others. The location cannot be beat, but stay elsewhere unless you want your honeymoon ruined like ours. The room wasn’t clean and the windows are so filthy you can hardly enjoy a “city view”. Mould in shower and toilet and floors not clean. I found garbage behind both night tables from previous guests. Save your money and DO NOT STAY HERE….if you do… don’t say I didn’t warn you! Worst hotel experience of my life, and we travel frequently. Remember to go on Reddit and check out people’s horror stories from staying at Romer.

Great location! Close to everything. However, I didn't like that there was no way to make coffee in the room, no way to iron clothes. There was a steamer but it definitely isn't the same. The room was a nice size and great view but bathroom was a bit small

Love this location—close to so much. Staff is great, but there are some downsides. 1) no in room coffee, you have to buy it from their cafe; 2) if you rent a suite hoping to use the pull out bed, ask for a roll away bed instead. The sofabed is beyond terrible.

I travel a lot and this place had the worst water pressure I've EVER had. Barely came out of the top of the shower head. AC at 65, still warm and sounded like a train running through our room. Stupid automatic light switches turned the lights on while trying to sleep. You move a toe and you get woke up with the lights coming on; annoying to say the least. Glad it was only a 2 day stay. As for the hotel itself, nothing special. Pics look better online (usually do). I felt it was really just an old hotel or apartment building that someone bought, slapped on a coat of paint and said they are now the trendy hotel. Wasn't impressed, nothing special. Too pricey for what it was. Staff wasn't friendly or rude, they didn't interact with us at all outside taking my CC and giving us keys. So no comment there. Walls are paper thin, you can here people walking in the halls, getting ice, etc. If they decide to talk, you get to hear it. Would I stay there again, honestly No and 90% of that no is based on the inability to take a shower and clean up.

Good hotel for NYC standards. It's a "new" hotel but is a refurb of an old one. Beds are large and comfortable and rooms are very spacious. We liked having a comfortable sofa in the room too. Location is great and very convenient for Manhattan. The external sound proofing blocked all the noise from the street outside. Downsides for us: we could hear a lot of noise from the neighbouring room and when people were in the corridor outside. The bathroom lighting is super bright and on a motion sensor - very intense if you need to get up to pee in the night.

This is a great hotel for 3 reasons. The location is close to Broadway, Central Park and other attractions. The size of the room is quite large for the price. And the bed was very comfortable. I recommend staying on an upper floor to manage street noise. Shower and water pressure were better than most. And we enjoyed the sitting area in our room. Romeo's Pizza and the Diner across the street were both great food spots. I wish check in was earlier than 4pm. On a positive side, their bellstaff happily stores our luggage. On your way out, check with them for car service to the airport. We foundtheir service to be betterpricethan other rideshare services out there.

Disappointing Experience ,staff not friendly ! Not Worth the Money This hotel unfortunately did not live up to expectations. Coming in no one got the bags and the door was closed ,when i told them aboutvthat they didnt even apologize! One of the receptionists was noticeably rude. When asked about things included, she didn't reply and said i can scan the barcode and read!!! which set a negative tone for the stay. Overall, the staff were not welcoming or attentive, and guest comfort clearly wasn’t a priority. The experience was underwhelming, and for the price I paid, I expected much better service. Definitely not good value for money, and I would not recommend staying here.

We had an amazing stay , staff and location is amazing. I would recommend it to anyone. But , besides the stay. We left valuables by accident in our hotel. The hotel staff and manager returned our goods and I absolutely amazed because a lot of times. It doesn’t turn out that way. There professional, respectful and friendly people showed the minute I walked in the door. Thank you Chris and your staff for reminding me there are people out there that still have morals and values and respect for others belongings. They had every opportunity to not even say anything. But , they choose to return our belongings back to us. Kudos to good people still in this world.

Great neighborhood, walkable to the subway, restaurants and theater district. Rooms good size; bed comfortable; lots of pillows (yay!) Car service to airport is great ($70, cheaper than Uber/Lyft). Some concerns: It was hot, so A/C was running full-time, making hallways and rooms feel a little damp. No washclothes (just hand towels and bath towels). Bell desk understaffed and slow - often 10-20 people waiting in line to pick up luggage to leave or store luggage until 4 p.m. check-in time, which overwhelms the lobby.

The staff was the most friendly, wonderful hotel staff I've ever dealt with. The room was incredibly comfortable, exactly the respite needed from the city after a long day. And the proximity of Romer to everything we could ever have wanted to do was unexpected and lovely. We'll definitely be staying here again!

Was perfect for a long weekend getaway. Property is a 12-15 minute to many things, including Central Park, Broadway, Times Square, great restaurants, and shopping. My room was spacious and clean, with good beds. Staff were friendly and helpful with my needs. I would definitely look to stay here again for a future trip.

Fantastic find. Location, location, location. Just off the beaten path so quiet and neighborhood like with a diner, nail salon, bank, Whole Foods and wine store on the block. Walking distance to Times Square, all the Broadway theaters, Central Park, St Patrick’s and Hudson Yards. Clean, modern property with friendly staff and nice community space. Will definitely book again.

This neighborhood hotel was our base during our NYC stay. A clean room with modern furniture and appointed artwork. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the Piano Lounge adjacent to the hotel a highlight with great entertainment and food / beverages. Will stay there again.

Hotel location is great. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and stocked with everything you need. This hotel's location can't be beat if you are in NYC for theater. The neighborhood has tons of restaurants of all types & price ranges, access to markets, drug stores, and public transportation to JFK. The hotel is newly renovated, the rooms are large by New York standards, and the staff are great.

The rooms in this hotel are remarkably large for this area. The staff was kind and helpful. The lobby coffee shop does a good job. There is also a Starbuck's right next door as well. The location is directly next to a subway station. Our only complaint, which is probably true about a lot of NYC hotels, is that dropping off and picking up are difficult. They only had one person helping with luggage on the day of our departure. We had parked in the garage immediately next to and attached to the hotel. We were in a line to pick up passengers and luggage out front and the owner of the same garage harasses us about moving our car. Other than that, we had a lovely time. We'd stay again, but maybe park somewhere else nearby.

Nice boutique hotel in a very central location. Many restaurants and other attractions within walking distance. Staff was very nice. Rooms were clean and eclectic. No real restaurant or bar onsite, but the market cafe had some good options for beer and wine. Grab and go food was decent too.

We debated between the Romer and the Kimpton (construction next door! Or Muse (90/ decor) which all had 2 Queen Beds. Romer was fantastically convenient and just far enough from the heart of Times Square where you could see locals, feel safe and have great food options I really like the 70s “sterophile” decor and rooms are simple but cool, nice open view of the street. The coffee shop in lobby is a HUGE bonus if you know NYC coffee shop lines and they made a scalding, burn your face off delicious cappuccino to start the day. Don Antonio (sit down Neopolitan Italian), Hagi Japanese and 9th Ave (restaurant row) are all steps away. And super easy to get to shows and Times Square. Subway also right there on 51st and 50th.

Really enjoyed my stay here. Having the in house cafe / small shop was useful. The connecting bar so and so’s was absolutely beautiful with great staff and drinks. They were super friendly and were able to sort us a taxi at short notice for a good price. Only things I would mention as a negative was holding £100 dollars per day as an indemnity clause which means I had to have 500 dollars held before even starting my stay and the cost of staying in my room for a few more hours seemed very pricy It’s a great hotel with lots to offer, deals on at theatres and perfectly located for anyone visiting broadway / Central Park and Times Square

The room was perfectly appointed. Lots of room and a mini fridge, which is crucial. The lobby was great as was the cafe and restaurant.
