Natural Bridge State Resort Park

Very very dated. The pool was not well kept. There was an obvious old smell when you walked in the hotel. The coffee was not good. Breakfast came with our room but never ate it because there was a very uncomfortable smell.

I would definitely recommend staying at the lodge, especially if you are not a camper, like me. It is so close to everything and you can even start hiking trails from the lodge parking lot, including one to the natural bridge. The pool is beautiful, but you do need to either drive, maybe 2-3 minutes, or go down and up 197 (we counted) stairs to get there. Worth it, but just something to note. Loved the stay.

I loved the bar, the bartender was very nice and fun.

Overall a great place to stay! Free good breakfast (hot), older lodge but in good condition, great views! On-site restaurant and separate bar/lounge, with good food and cheap drinks. Hiking trails start from the parking lot, no need to drive anywhere to see the natural bridge! No indoor pool, but the outdoor pool is pretty cool, it's in the gorge. They also have dances at "Hoedown Island " next to the pool! Would stay again.

Great location, the pool was actually open during our stay but ran out of pool towels, the breakfast was wonderful and staff were friendly! We asked about a playground and were sent to one tha apparently had been closed for some time due to storm damage. Our second stay in 2 years and will definitely be back!

Location was fantastic. Two minute walk from room to Natural Bridge Trail. Room was dated, but fairly clean. Hard floors were not terribly clean as evidenced by how dirty the bottom of my feet got after showering and then walking on the hard floors. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Nice having our own private balcony. Breakfast was the typical hotel breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles, cold cereal, fruit, yogurt, etc. Did not eat lunch at the hotel restaurant because we stopped by and saw that the only option was a buffet. Did not check to see whether dinner offered a menu option. Very, very disappointed that the pool was closed during the 90 degree weather. We booked thru Expedia thinking we’d be able to hike all morning and then cool off in the pool in the afternoons. Nope. We were notified via text two days prior to our arrival that the pool was closed.

Property was dated but fine. Hiking and views were wonderful. Property bar was wonderfully staffed and quite nice. Gift shop was tiny and parking is limited near hotel.

We booked this stay on the fourth of July with the intention of getting away from the city at a hotel with a pool. The pool is advertised over and over on both the Natural Bridge State Park website, and on Hotels.com. I have stayed here before, and we loved the pool. So, we were very much excited to go and use the pool. Upon arrival the clerk told us "the pool is closed for the summer" We were very dismayed that there was no mention of this on either website, in fact the websites use the amenity of the pool and photos of the pool to lead the customer to believe there is in fact a working pool. Other than being disappointed by the fact we were sold that there is a pool, and in fact not having it available, evert door in our room did not open or close properly. The windows looked like they haven't been cleaned in months. There was garbage thrown all over the ground below our balcony overlooking the woods. Not what you want to see when sitting on a balcony hoping to take in a scenic view. I am not one to leave a negative review. I do so very rarely, but this feels like it needs to be said to protect future travelers from looking forward to a clean hotel with the amenity of a pool. Buyer beware.

Let me start by saying—I’m truly not boujee, but this might read a little boujee. Just know it’s coming from a place of honesty! We stayed at the lodge, and while the location and access to trails were great, the room itself was… a little questionable. Our shower had visible mold, a broken shower head, and a nice little trail of ants to greet us. Housekeeping only comes the day you check out, so if you need towels or anything else during your stay, you have to ask—which isn’t the end of the world, just something to know ahead of time. The complimentary breakfast was decent—think biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs, cereal, apples, waffles, juice, and packaged muffins. Nothing fancy, but it’ll get you fueled up for a day of hiking. The onsite tavern was a pleasant surprise! Shout out to Dan, the friendly bartender, who kept the vibes chill and the drinks very reasonably priced. There’s no shortage of trails to explore and things to do. We were really looking forward to the sky lift our first night, but unfortunately, they decided to close about 30 minutes early. Same thing happened with the pool after a hot hike—lifeguards were eager to wrap up early, which was a bit of a bummer when you’re sweaty and dreaming of a quick dip. All in all, it’s a convenient and scenic place to stay, especially if you’re planning to hike a lot. Just know what you’re walking into—and maybe bring your own shower shoes.

Great hiking and the pool is awesome. We stayed in a cottage. It smelled musty and was not clean. Dust on furniture, bath tub drips, bugs, mouse turds and dust bunnies under all the furniture and tables. We killed a few spiders in our room and mice were going through our food on the kitchen counter. We cut our trip short due to filth

Beds seemed super clean which is always a must for me. The floors were so dirty, every time you get into bed, you track up stuff from the floor with you. Our A/C would not turn on. Mold in the bathroom from vent not working. We did love the area and walking trails around the property!

Nice setting for lodging in the park. Cottage needs updating. The smell of smoke (from years of people burning wood in the fireplace) was excessive. The floors were clean, but spiders were in most corners of every room. Parking available on road to cottages. To access entry to cottage must take walkway with lots of stairs (~42 stairs for our cottage). Breakfast at lodge was marginal. Hiking and activities on property.

We loved the location and the staff. Breakfast was super. The room could use a refresh… especially the bathroom caulk and the doors throughout. The entire place had a slight musty odor.

The location of the lodge was great for hiking & sightseeing. We did not feel that our room was clean from the first moment. It smelled musty, we found an eaten chicken wing bone by the trash can, our shower curtain had a brown smear on it, we had a dirty or stained towel, and we found someone else’s chapstick under the luggage table. Our room had dirty lamp shades with rusted bases & the telephone had a visible layer of dust.

Location was good, cabins are close to eachother. Outside of the cabin had some siding rot, cabin itself was clean and came with plates etc. Biggest issue was finding the lodge to check in. Ya blink once you miss the sign. Restaurant was ok, wifi DOES NOT WORK AT THE CABINS. T.v barely wanted to cast. The lodge had great signal. I only stayed 1 night so maybe its because it was rainy the wifi didnt work, either way that was stressful.

This hotel is a mountain lodge. It was very comfortable. Ok on cleanliness. The balcony of the room was like to were in the middle of the forest, very relaxing to sit and have a cocktail or coffee. I loved the fact that it was very close to hiking trails to the natural bridge. You can just walk out your door from the hemlock lodge and the trails are right in the parking lot behind the lodge. The surrounding area is absolutely beautiful. The breakfast was good also. I would definitely stay here again

the window and balcony are large and provided a nice view of the surrounding foothills. the newly remodel rooms were inviting. we encounter 3 issues with the room upon check-in and they were one of the shower's grab handles was no secure, one light bulb was out, and finally we could not turn on the heat. the issue with the heat is that the person checking us neglected to turn on the heat for our room. we did encounter issues checking in. first the person checking in did not activate the HVAC system for our room. secondly they did not tell us how to get to our room and thirdly they did not tell us that on Wednesday and Thursday morning there was a free continental breakfast. luckily for us our waitress told us about the free continental breakfast, so we did not miss out.

This is a no-frills lodge perfect for hikers or climbers. Free Continental breakfast is provided, but know that when it says it ends at 10 that there will be nothing left out at 10 (plan accordingly). The rooms could stand to be updated, but they were very clean and served their purpose for us hikers! Beautiful scenery and easy access trail to the natural bridge! If you are looking for a clean place to lay your head for a night or two then this is a good fit.

Good breakfast. Early check-in. Cable TV good. No wifi in the cottage. Check out at 10a vs. the advertised (Expedia) 11a. Glue trap under the sink. Droppings in the lower kitchen cabinet.

It was close to all the trails & the complimentary bfast was fine. The rooms need a good cleaning & need some TLC updates. Musty smelling & the air conditioning was hit or miss. The balcony was nice to sit out on & enjoy unless someone beside or below decided to take a smoke. Is it worth the $$$ paid- no. But what can you do? You’re kinda stuck if you want to be nearby the parks & trails. Oh! And the pool was closed. Go to the welcome center as you get off the exit to get maps & info about the area.

Our room was very comfortable and spacious. The balcony was lovely. The breakfast buffet was ok, but somewhat limited in options. The pool wasn’t open, understandably, but the walk from the lodge would have been daunting. Many many steps.

Beautiful scenery and excellent hiking trails! The hotel is a bit dated, but the beds and pillows were very comfortable. Staff was very kind and welcoming. We would for sure stay again!

The lodge rooms appear to have been recently updated. Clean and comfortable. Nice private balcony. Friendly staff and good service in restaurant.

Property is getting old and dated. Lots of noise from dining room chairs sliding on floor transferring to room’s below.

We arrived at 3 pm for check in. Get to room and turn heat on because it’s cold. It’s only blowing cold air after 3 hours of running. It is literally 60 degrees in our room. Call front desk and soneoneone comes down to check it. She argues with us that we just need to let it run to get warm because it’s a geothermal unit. Fine! We let it run for another hour and it’s progressively getting colder because it’s blowing COLD air. Call again and the same lady comes down and finally admits that it isn’t getting warm after being VERY condescending. She said she would contact maintenance to look at it Saturday morning. It’s so cold that we had to sleep in our clothes and winter coat Friday night. Saturday morning we get up to hike early, so I swing by office to make sure that maintenance was coming by to check our heat. Of course, the lady from night before did absolutely NOTHING, no maintenance notes at all for our room. I ask the guy to please send maintenance. We get back around 3:00 pm. Haven’t heard from hotel at all during day. Heat still isn’t fixed so I go BACK to front desk and they tell me that heat is broken (no kidding). She gives me ZERO options (no more rooms). I had to argue with her to contact a manager for a discount. Meanwhile we have to drive 35 min to Jackson Ky Walmart to buy sweat suits and blankets so we don’t freeze to death. $100 each for that purchase. Sunday morning we check out and they only gave us a discount for Saturday night only

It was beautiful. The staff was friendly, helpful and went out of their way to ensure every need was met. We are going to make this place a regular stay!!!

Super clean room, Ava at the check in was very nice, pleasantly surprised by hotel itself, thoroughly enjoyed the dinner buffet and complimentary breakfast buffet, disappointed with information about exactly where we were staying and very upset at being told room slept six (we had five guests) to find out they expected three people to sleep in each of the FULL sized beds (thought there would have been a pull out couch)

Absolutely beautiful area. Hotel was awesome! Service was wonderful and room was great with an awesome view of the surrounding wooded area. Restaurant had delicious food and excellent service, and the Tavern bartenders and atmosphere was amazing! Can’t wait to go back!

We enjoyed staying right at the park, convenient to trails. The onsite tavern was nice. Bartender Dan was very friendly, helpful. Our room was ok, clean. Although the A/C was not very cool, and we didn't seem to be able to adjust it. The room also smelled a little like dog. We did like the balcony off our room with a screen door.

Property itself was clean and functional. While the kids running the desk were pleasant, there was a lot of confusion surrounding my booking. I secured a room via Expedia which said check in was at 3pm. Upon arrival I was told that was not the case and check in was at 4pm, so I left and then checked in around 5:30. Around 9:30pm I get a banging on my door by the front desk staff and an officer. They had placed me in the wrong room— but not my fault, they’d sort it out with the other patron. Then I get called close to 10pm to come up to the desk so they could fix the registration. He assured me I still be paying the price as said on Expedia. Next morning I get a text saying they need me to come up because they “think they fixed the problem.” As I said, the kids handling this were kind and respectful, and mistakes happen—but this should have been handled in a different way. Not someone banging on my door at 9:30pm or having me come up in my pajamas to sort a problem that was not caused by me.

The customer service and cleanliness really stands out at this resort. Every employee makes eye contact and greets you in the hallways and in their work stations. The restaurant, gift shop, and tavern were all excellent. The activities and hiking in the area were all great as well. We will definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area. Excellent value for the money.

All of the associates have wonderful,that is to say helpful, courteous and present. Not often I can say "all" and mean it. Kudos to management for aquiring and retaining such good and kind people.

The worst stay in years. When I got there they said they had no rooms and I didn't have a reservation. I showed them the reservation and found the lady I talked to Friday.I let her know on Friday I would not be there because of transportation problems. She said no problem see you Saturday. I will make a note in your reservation we will be here anytime Saturday. When I got there no room. Then they said they would give me an upgrade to a cabin. My reservation was for Lodge Kingsize bed handicapped. They sent me to a cabin on the side of a hill. Three flights of stairs,washed out path and filthy accommodations. Went back to reject room. They said that was all they had. There is really no place to stay for a 50 mile radius. It is Father's day weekend. I was there for a funeral and made is whole situation much worse. Super displeased!

The hotel was nice wouldve gave 5 star, but 1 day before arriving they sent a text from a random number saying the pool was closed for your stay. With having 4 different hotels booked didnt know which one it was to book somewhere else. They would not offer a discount also. Room service does not clean room or give new towels daily and if you when we asked was told we had to be in the room and it took over 3 hrs waiting for towels.

The proximity to the Natural Bridge trail is a big convenience and this resort is so quaint. The rooms all have balconies that overlook the trees and beauty of the area. A continental breakfast is served in the restaurant each morning for all guests. Dinner and lunch are available too. Cute gift shop and tavern are on the premises too.

The only downside to this lodge was the rooms have an outside entrance. It’s a 1/2 mile walk up the hill to see the Natural Bridge and it’s worth seeing for sure.

Hiking trails and a virgin forest at your doorstep. Dining room was closed Wednesday and Thursday. Expedia made no mention of this.

We stayed at the Park Hotel and unfortunately found it to be quite outdated. The air conditioning was a constant issue — it would only run for about five minutes at a time. We called several times for assistance, but nothing was ever done to resolve the problem. The screen was ripped out of the door, so we couldn’t leave it open to enjoy fresh air without letting bugs in. The food was disappointing across the board, from the free continental breakfast to the buffet and tavern options. The biggest advantage of this hotel is its location — it’s centrally located to many attractions and just steps away from the Natural Bridge, which was incredibly convenient. Overall, the location was ideal, but the accommodations and food left a lot to be desired.

For an older state park property this lodge was outstanding. The room was super nice and we had a porch with a forest view. Included breakfast was standard food, scrambled eggs, sausages, biscuits and gravy. Make your own waffles. Toast and cereals. We had dinner there for a very reasonable price. The food was great. I would visit again if there weren't so many other places to go.
