Surprisingly well equipped room albeit small. Good shower with plenty of towels and toiletries. Breakfast is not bad, but was very busy on the day I experienced it. Friendly staff who do a good job running a busy hotel. Good location close to subway and also Penn Station for getting around and out of the city. The High Line walking trail along old railway tracks is not far away. Well equipped fitness room in the basement with a good range of machines, weights and other equipment. The big negative is the time spent waiting for a lift. Several times it was a 10-minute wait!

Overall we are glad we stayed here, but have a number of pros and cons: Pros: - *excellent* location for walking and subway transportation - kitchenette allowed flexibility for meals and snacks - overall staff were friendly and accommodating to questions/requests - great views of the city (we were on the 20th floor) - complimentary buffet breakfast included - accommodated a late check out without issue - great water pressure in the shower, no issues with getting hot water Cons: - room was very small. Had a king bed and kitchenette, but had to use the table for one suitcase and put the other under the table on the floor. Literally nowhere else to put the suitcases (we brought normal large suitcases) - poorly designed room overall. The bathroom door is a barn door and there was over a 1" gap with visibility into the bathroom. We had to resort to hanging a blanket on the bar to try and conceal the visibility for the duration of our stay (1 week) - nice to have the breakfast included but you had to get there early if you wanted a seat. We always took it to our room to eat on the bed as it was easier than waiting (don't forget - we didn't have a table due to suitcases) - electrical socket/cover was coming out of the wall in the bathroom - found unclean cutlery in the kitchen - fitted sheet didn't fit and kept rolling up - towel had a large area that was nearly worn through - elevators were fast but only 4 to support 40 floors which often got backed up

Walking distance to subway station, convenience store, restaurants, retailers. Helpful front desk staff. Nice breakfast selection. Room was compact and organized well with kitchenette comprised of microwave, mini fridge, utensils, plates, cups, etc. Room could use some more lighting. I would stay here again.

Generally a very good place to stay. It was clean and as quiet as a NYC hotel can be. I've stayed in worse. Keep in mind the elevators are EXTREMELY slow to pick up, especially at breakfast time when everyone is trying to get downstairs. And when one finally arrives you may not fit on it. This was almost a 5 star experience but I hated those elevators

Really nice hotel. Very clean and quiet, with comfortable beds. Kitchenette provided lots of amenities, and it was very convenient to have a small refrigerator in the room. Breakfast provided daily. There was a small dining area in the lobby, but we ate in our room every day. My only real complaints were the elevator, which almost never stopped at your floor if you needed to go down (we were only on the 5th floor, so we took the stairs down every day, but the hotel has about 40 floors, so I can’t imagine what that must have been like for those guests staying on floors above us), and the toilet paper, which was practically useless. Between the two of us, we went through 2.5 rolls in a five day stay because we had to layer so many sheets just to be useful. But overall, wonderful hotel. Would stay here again.

Clean room and friendly staff. Breakfast has good varieties but dinning area is small and crowded at 8:30-9:30, the elevator is also problematic when traffic is heavy in the morning. We once waited more than 10 minutes to get on the elevator.

The room is very clean. The staff are very nice and helpful. I like the included breakfast. The location is great. It’s safe and convenient. Police are patrolling around. It’s walkable to many major attractions such as time square, Central Park, etc. The subway is just around the corner. A great place!

This hotel was brilliant, room was spotless, kitchens was fantastic, the bed was so comfortable (pillows could of been better) the shower was lovely, absolutely massive. You also get a free breakfast, there was a lot to choose from. Quality was really good. The staff were all amazing with us, we have disabilities and they couldnt help us enough. We've been to NY many times and this is the best hotel we've ever stayed at, thank you to everyone who made are stay special

First time staying at TownePlace Suites Chelsea but won't be my last. Conveniently located near Penn Station and plenty of restaurants in the area. Rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable. Property is well maintained. The staff are professional, friendly and extremely helpful.

We had a great 5 night stay at TownePlace Suites. The property is centrally located - perfect for exploring Manhattan by foot or metro. The staff were friendly, accommodated a late checkout and overall very communicative. The property is modern, clean, and there were nice touches like tea/coffee in the lobby and breakfast buffet each morning. The only complaint is the elevators - long wait times meant we usually took the stairs as we were only 8 floors up. We would stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The breakfast was great! Not very varied on different days, but very generous to start the day in NYC! The room is small, but well-appointed, and the view from the 19th floor was superb. Very clean bathroom, very friendly staff. The hotel is especially well-located in NYC! Right in the middle of Chelsea, a stone's throw from the subway, the Empire State Building, Times Square, and across from the West Village. The "Flower Street," with flower wholesalers lining the street, also adds charm. We ll come back !

NY City has so much to see and do, and this hotel has a great location, walking distance to many different attractions and restaurants, very nice and clean, my room was cleaned every day for the 3 days that we stayed, friendly front desk and employees, very good breakfast, hospitality was top notch, and the price was much lower than other hotels, amazing service!!!!!

It was a great location for walking around Manhattan, staff was friendly, room was clean. Rooms and bathrooms are very tiny - we got a King suite and still thought it was small. I guess this is normal in the city. Pillows were very flat. Great perk was that they have free breakfast and they had a good spread for a free breakfast.

Location is great. Check in was later in the day but plenty of Staff available to take bags and I wanted to bags for early arrival and later check in. It was not a problem at all and it will come service. We thought breakfast was very good with a large variety of food hot and cold. The thing that we didn't like about the property is that because the rooms are small, the door to the bathroom was a barn door sliding door only and did not completely seal off and close. This was convenient for having some private time in the bathroom. Not a deal breaker but not ideal situation

Overall, we were very happy with our stay. The room only had one light next to the bed, and none anywhere else in the room (apart from the bathroom). We chose this room for the kitchenette, but there was no light, which made it mostly impossible to use at night. There was also no way to hang clothes (no closet, no hooks, no pegs). Breakfast was mediocre and between 8:30 and 10, we had to wait 5-10 minutes for the elevator!

We had 5 nights at Towne Place Suites. Location was great, close to subway and easy to walk to places. Breakfast was great and plentiful, although very busy. The air con in our room was very noisy. Bed and pillows were not the comfiest. Sometimes the wait for the lifts was crazy. We were thankful for being on the 4th floor and not the 44th!

The rooms are fine but sooo tiny! No place to even open up my suitcase other than on the bed And the bathroom has a sliding door and no soundproofing from the bedroom so it’s a bad spot if more than one person is staying in the room. Also, they have valet service but you have to wait 30-45 minutes when you want to retrieve your car

Everyone was polite and professional. The room was clean. The breakfast was satisfactory. Our only issue is the room was extremely small, with no space to put our clothes or luggage. Basically had to place in the narrow walking and jump over our stuff all day. Additionally, the lighting is terrible.

We stayed for 5 nights during the first week of December. Arrived around 11 AM and they already had a room available for us and even upgraded us to a higher floor. We were so impressed the the customer service. We enjoyed the lobby that had unlimited hot coffee and hot water with tea or hot chocolate packs, so you can stay warm throughout the day. One day they even served hot chocolate and cookies. Alot of people complained about the elevator being slow. We were on the 20th floor and it was fine. It was busy but we often had an elevator within a minute or two. There were 4 available elevators, so it really wasn't bad. Quite quick actually The room was about the size of a cruise ship cabin. This is normal for NYC standards. The bathroom was basic with limited products available, but there was large bottles of nice shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The slidable door was fine. We didn't mind it. I know some people complained about this. The Kitchenette is small, but handy if you need to have a fridge and microwave. The only downside to our experience is that the walls and windows are very thin. New Yorkers honk alot. We were also by the elevator so we could hear slamming doors and street noise. Otherwise, I'd recommend bringing headphones or ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. The bed is comfortable though. Nice and clean. No bedbugs as some had mentioned.in previous comments. It was well cleaned before we came in. Finally, awesome location near 28th station & Penn.

The rooms are small and there is not much room. I suggest you pack small luggage and if you’re sharing the room, that you really like the person you are with. This was our 4th time staying at Townplace and we absolutely love it! The staff is fantastic! The rooms are clean. Walter has checked us in our last two stays and he is the absolute best! He’s a gem! We misunderstood something on the listing and he helped clarify in the most courteous way!

Ashley the day shift receptionist during our staff is super awesome! Very helpful and considerate and really tried to make things happen for us esp we arrived from a red eye flight and was so early to check in! It was family trip with 3 rooms booked and was hard to out everybody in the same floor but her attitude and friendly face makes up for the craziness of being in NYC! She deserves a raise!!!

First time staying at TownePlace Suites Chelsea but won't be my last. Conveniently located near Penn Station and plenty of restaurants in the area. Rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable. Property is well maintained. The staff are professional, friendly and extremely helpful.

We had a great 5 night stay at TownePlace Suites. The property is centrally located - perfect for exploring Manhattan by foot or metro. The staff were friendly, accommodated a late checkout and overall very communicative. The property is modern, clean, and there were nice touches like tea/coffee in the lobby and breakfast buffet each morning. The only complaint is the elevators - long wait times meant we usually took the stairs as we were only 8 floors up. We would stay here again!

Nice staff, good location and clean rooms. The wait times to get on the elevator during the breakfast time was insane, we had to take the stairs each and every morning going down for breakfast. The first day we had no shampoo and body wash in our bathroom. We called the reception and asked them if someone could bring us some but they completely ignored our request and I had to come out of the shower after 30 40 minutes without being able to wash myself. That part was very frustrating. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

Location is excellent and you can walk to most attractions or take the subway right in the corner. The staff is very friendly. Genesis was outstanding. Friendly, helpful, and very professional. Hotels need more like him! Some rooms have great views like ours but they are super tiny. Feels like most hotels in Paris. Lobby is mostly crowded and sometimes one of the doors has to be closed due to the number of luggages from large groups covering the entrance. Isn’t that a fire hazard? Besides that, housekeeping personnel were adorable and they keep the room very clean. Room doors are very heavy and you hear the banging over and over when closing. Overall, I would stay there again for the location, service, staff, and cleanliness.

Great hotel in NYC, location is great for exploring with the subway at the end of the block and lots of tourist attractions 20/30 mins walk away. Breakfast offer great can get busy but is well organised. Lots of comments about the lifts before I booked they can be frustrating waiting for them but it didn’t impact our stay

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The breakfast was great! Not very varied on different days, but very generous to start the day in NYC! The room is small, but well-appointed, and the view from the 19th floor was superb. Very clean bathroom, very friendly staff. The hotel is especially well-located in NYC! Right in the middle of Chelsea, a stone's throw from the subway, the Empire State Building, Times Square, and across from the West Village. The "Flower Street," with flower wholesalers lining the street, also adds charm. We ll come back !

Parking is available at 2 nearby garages that are just a few blocks down but be prepared to spend about $60/24 hours Would def recommend staying here!

It was a great location for walking around Manhattan, staff was friendly, room was clean. Rooms and bathrooms are very tiny - we got a King suite and still thought it was small. I guess this is normal in the city. Pillows were very flat. Great perk was that they have free breakfast and they had a good spread for a free breakfast.

The room was small, but that's expected in NYC. It was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean as well and we were fully stocked with amenities. The hot stuff in the free breakfast was cold, but their bagels were delicious. It was also a free breakfast buffet and we went at a very busy time. My friend left her charger behind and they actually emailed us offering to mail it back!

Breakfast was excellent. The only complaint would be the elevator. In the mornings is very busy and it could take up to 20 minutes for the elevator. Couple of times we used the stairs, we were on the 20th floor.

Tight rooms. Loved the Kitchenette. The included breakfast wasn’t great. Trying to serve too many people. All the hot food was basically cold. I only ate there the first morning. Elevators have a long wait. Very touristy but clean hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Room was fine...a bit small...but thats nyc...location was great! I was unable to enjoy the free breakfast as the line was super long each morning...im not someone who wants to wait so that was a flop and ended up heading out each morning for breakfast...i will ask for a room next time away from service room as it was super noisy early ..

Only issues we had~ bathroom door wouldn’t stay closed, water took along time to get hot &dishwasher continuously made noise. Breakfast was excellent, staff was amazing! Overall a great stay!

Stayed here twice in the last 5 years. Seems the standard is going downhill. Pros: Clean beds/room. AC Temp was nice and consistent. Free breakfast and great location for subway. Friendly and helpful bellman. Housekeeping is done every day. Cons: Breakfast: Less variety for breakfast and does not cater well to vegans. Also a mismatch in their menu. Eg. guacamole was available daily plus salad for breakfast but with what? One needs to be creative with them haha. Veg sausages would have been great like in other TownePlace locations. Bathroom: the shower drain does not drain well so guaranteed bathroom flooding! We had to turn it off every 2 mins to let the water drain. Upon check in there was no extra toilet paper roll. The one in the holder almost used up. Had to call housekeeping. Kitchen: realized the can opener was broken when we had to open a can of beans. Unfortunately it only punctured it so we requested for a new or functional one. After 2 calls and 2 hours later still no can opener so we had to slowly puncture around the can to get the contents out! The can opener never came and no apologies. Phone in the room: handset was out of order. Speaker phone used instead. False fire alarm: woken up at 6am only to be told a few minutes later it was false alarm. Not notified straight away. The one who spoke on the speaker did not repeat the message so half-awake guests were all out in the hallway asking each other what was going on. Noise: Able hear the elevators next door.
