Wingate by Wyndham Galveston Beachfront at the Seawall

Nothing will never ever reserved there it was to celebrate my bday 62 and couldn’t even get in the pool. Plus they charged me $30 for 2 days of parking I should have got some kind of discount or money back for having a pool full of algae. And the breakfast is coffee and you make your own waffle. Did not clean the room at least take out the trash but not even same towels for two days of stay. Terrible worst experience ever.

Just like cuz is in the front beach but they don't cleaning the room everyday no pool towels and the pool have alge ( little green) was talking to the front desk guy and no fix that also they charge the parking 15.00 per day is ridiculous but anyway tk. Nex time find it other place much comfortably.

For the price paid in mid September, I did not expect a disappointment like this. Rusted lamps, poor patch jobs in the walls, small, early 2000s tv, bedding with MANY body fluid stains(not sure if the sheets were fresh), mini fridge froze everything the first night and when it was barely turned down, everything was warm, toilet clogged, multiple attempts to access the door, low to zero land maintenance, green floor spots in the pool, fresh water clean off did not work, lose railing nearly sent me to my car below, instantly from the second floor, and worker cleaning off second and third floors by spraying washed it all on our vehicles.... there's more but I won't nitpick.

Obviously looks better in the pictures. They charge 15 dollars to park even though they’re on a shared lot. Not worth it.

Elevator not working, the room was dirty , around the hotel was dirty . And still charge for parking. Horrible place

Totally false advertisement on website upon arrival there was construction all around the hotel. Elevators were not working we had a few things for our stay we had to switched rooms. I had pay for partial view were we literally on the back of the hotel no view at all. Card reader for the room was hassle to.open at all times we had to push the door so hard in order to get it. There was trash all over the parking lot. Will never ever stayed there again .

Booked and paid online through Expedia, was charged again upon check in. When I asked about the charge, was given a number to call. My ocean view room was green construction fencing. Ice machine didn’t work. Trash overflowing in the cans outside.

The hidden fee of $15.00 per night to park in the Wingate by Wyndham parking lot. There should not have been a fee for that, it's the first time ever this type of hidden fee was thrown in at check in time. This vacation had been planned for a while, so I felt stuck to pay it being over 300 miles from home. It's a shame this is aloud

Discovered roaches inside our luggage the next morning. Immediately went to the front desk for a refund. Manager was not in and would issue one, is what the reception said. Well fast forward after a vacation still no refund and the manager refuses. We have videos as well. Terrible stay. Reception admitted to having roaches but won’t tell anyone.

Sheets were dirty, towels were stained, floor was dirty. Also check your bags before leaving…..We saw roaches coming through the baseboard and one got in my tote bag.

Room was clean floor was scraped in front room. The lamps had rust. In restroom cove base coming off. Curtains in front had some holes Exterior nasty

Entering the room, the floors had a “residue film” all over, bathroom included. I noticed a small dead roach, which I was able to sweep out the room. I had to call Front desk because the tv would not turn on!! I was informed, someone was going to be there to check it….20 minutes later….No One came!! I started noticing the other things …..BUGS crawling in the bed & pillow!!!! I immediately took a picture….Grabbed the pillow went to the Front desk. The Very Nice man/ manager/??? Moved us to another room. He said it was a Sand Bug!! 🙄Not a Sand Bug…A Bed Bug! It was Biker Weekend, all hotels were booked. We had to stay….With Raid in hand! Because the Man/ Manager was very nice, I couldn’t go Crazy…Bed Bugs, Really! Don’t Play Me Down like that!

The room was absolutely filthy. I was furious because there was no other option for me to go to. This was the worst hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. Whoever cleans needs to be fired.

The room we had was very dirty. There was roaches in the bathroom. The shower looked like it hadn’t been cleaned. There was someone’s hair all over the tub.

The place is very ran down and all the decor is rusted and falling apart the bath room old and moldy, the shower head was horrible, the toilet was not even bolted down and ran water non stop

The room was comfortable and clean but the lamps are rusted, the toilet leaked, the tub porcelain was chipped. We had issues getting door keys that worked. The fronts door needed a serious paint job & and the lock looked rusty too. I was concerned about staying but it was only for one night. I don’t think I will stay there again

The doorr was extremely hard to open and the shower head was full of lime build up and spraied everywhere buy overall it was an ok stay. The pictures definitely look better than real life though

Room was advertised as having 2 queen size beds but really had 2 full size. The power outlets on the desk lamp were loose and needed replacement. But the closeness of the beach was really good. On-site personnel were good but need a little more practice with the English language.

I had higher expectations from a Wingate by Whyndham motel. It was a little bit disappointing. The wifi was the worst part, didn't work well and I can't believe I had to pay extra for parking. Location was great though!

I reserved a suite- two rooms, one king bed in 1 room, 2 doubles in the other. When I checked in i was told there was only one and it was under maintenance. I was given a single double bed room and told I would be waved the parkong fee of $15/day. I verified prices and conplained the following morning (because it was so late at check in and the language barrier was a real problem). So the next mornong they tried to tell me we had to wait for the manager, who was on vacation and would be back 3 day later. Ive worked in hotels for years. As a front desk staff, you ha e the authority to make things right for your guests. But i had to get angry for them to digure out a solution: it took 3 hours, bit they finally chamged our room to two connecting rooms, each with 2 double beds. Better than a single for the price I was paying. The "breakfast" was pitiful. The coffee was wither too watered down or way too strong-no coffee pot in the room. And it is the beacj, sand is everywhere so you can't expect a perfectly clean floor- it was clean enough. The wifi didn't work. Our first room, the door handle was broken.

The room itself waa ok it was mostly clean excwpts sheets on one bed has stains. Very disappointed the internet was so bad you couldn't evwn use the tv. That much time in a room with no interner or tv was a disappointment. Outside of the hotel was prerry rough and nothing like photos online .

Room smelt like bleach - was clean. Bed was comfy. But rooms do not match the picture as described- the ac did not work. We had it in 60 and it was still hot - hotel is an older hotel. Over all it was ehhh for a one night stay but I won’t be back. Asked the lady up front how much the can soda was and she said 3 dollars- just outrageous. Parking is 15 dollars which I was not aware of - I asked for a receipt at check in and was told to get it in the morning at checkout but we had to leave at 430am for surgery. So I did not receive a receipt!

Hotel was by the Seawall. My keycard kept getting deactivated.

Door to room very hard to open, handle was loose. Bathtub had a continuous flow from the faucet, gallons of water wasted. Reported to staff, but not acknowledged as a problem, this had been dripping so long the finish was worn off that area of the tub. Didn’t appreciate having to pay for parking, there was no notification of this charge prior to check in. Although there was a ‘Continental Breakfast’ the offerings were minimal and not sufficient for the number of guests

First of all most of the 5 stars are a lie. They have a promotion where you leave a five star review get a free beverage so don't trust most of those. Second the parking is not free even though the 12 people that I saw come in, including myself all got the hotel because the parking should have been free. And then the guy behind the desk had to prove we were all wrong instead of understanding that he represented it poorly. Third none of the staff can multitask at all, and none of them can do anything independently so it's a group effort every time. There will be 3-5 people behind the counter but can only help one guest at a time. The room was visually clean but only after a cursory look, the room was so gross!! I stayed one night to get onto a cruise I would never recommend anyone stay more than one night. I book Wyndham because there is a certain level of cleanliness and friendliness that comes with the name, this didn't meet that at all; it was more like a family owned motel 8, which if I was paying motel 8 prices I would be fine with but it wasn't motel 8 prices and then to nickel and dime after that, no. The pillows were awful, the stains uncomfortable, and the service abysmal. Pay a little more and go somewhere better.

The AC unit was smoking and popping at 2 a.m. in the morning. The staff was unconcerned and wanted me to stay in the room next door to the obvious fire hazard.

Management was very accommodating let us have an early check in which was greatly appreciated. Close to the beach and quiet

This hotel had the worst front desk staff I have ever encountered. Prior to checking in, the hotel charged my card three times and then attempted to charge me again upon check-in. The gentleman at the front desk was very rude and he was unwilling to accommodate my requestfor a refund. there have been several social media videos circulating of this man getting aggressive with other hotel guests. The room, itself was in good shape but the elevator was not working so we had to carry our luggage up to the second floor. I would not recommend this hotel Going forward

My friend and I had an early check in and got a room with a broken tv, no comforters, no towels, among so many other issues. They gave us a new room but later that morning at 2am we woke to banging on the door. It was another few guests who they gave the room we were in to and didn’t check us out of the previous room that they gave the current one for. I went to the office and was told it was an accident. It scared the crap out of us and they walked into the room with us dead asleep. That would be scary for anyone at 2am when you’re dead asleep. Friend has ptsd and was scared and crying through it all. I went back to my room only to be locked out since they gave the access to the other key card and had to go back a 2nd time to the office at 2am just to get back into my own hotel room I got locked out of. There’s stains on the bedding, mildew growing on the bottom of the shower curtains and a dirty used washcloth that was left in the corner from previous hotel guests with god knows what on it. I don’t recommend staying here. The worst service and room I have ever stayed in and experienced.

I booked 4 rooms for family members and at check-in the staff were extremely rude and unprofessional. They could not find the reservation, made me provide evidence of reservation beyond the confirmation number, and required names of family members even though I booked all the rooms and paid for them. Additionally, once we got our rooms they were not together and one room was not cleaned at all with a pizza box still in the room and beds still looked like they had been slept in. I was also required to pay a per car parking fee despite this not being advertised anywhere in the booking. Finally, the photos provided on hotels.com are not accurate representations of the rooms at this hotel. As a Wyndham time share owner, I am concerned and surprised that Wyndham would put their name on this property. This property is unkept, unprofessional, and dirty.

Our experience started at check in. We sat there in lobby at 345 and clerk would not check in before 4pm, unless we paid $30. Lamps in room were metal and rusted. Little to no hot water.Sink dirty. Coffee in lobby, but no milk available, even when we asked. Breakfast breads were stale, hard as rock, days old, only cereal and waffles available. Outside grounds dirty and unkempt. Place should be condemned. Wyndham should be ashamed to call this one of their properties.

THIS PLACE DOESN'T EVEN DESERVE A STAR. There is nothing good at this property. I booked this hotel over a month before me and my kids step into this horrible place. The rudest owner/manager/staff. the first room the refrigerator didn't work, the tv didn't work and it was extremely hard to get into the first room. Went down within 10 mins. asking for another room. at first they were trying to make me feel stupid. the owner or manager said in a foreign language and then said fine give them another room. So, we went to the other room and we couldn't even get into the 2nd room. went back down spoke to them again. mind you I already paid up front an additional $70.00 to check-in early and to park at the hotel for the nights we where suppose to be there. They are the worst people. They refused to refund my money especially the $70.00 I just paid within 30 minutes. I decide this isn't safe for me and my kids. I had to call my bank to get my refund and to block all payments or hidden fee for this hotel was going to charge. You don't treat your customers that way. I realized after I got in and settled in to my new hotel, I realized there was no signs of certificates to operate and manage hotel from the City of Galveston. And the pictures online isn't at all what they actually look like. Crappiest place I have ever been to. I hope all of the complaints I made to the City of Galveston, I hope they get fine. They shouldn't be open. THANK GOD for Beachfront Palms Hotel.

The lady at the check in desk was just rude. Then charging $15 per day to park your vehicle at the place you just paid to stay at. Not happy about that one for sure.

First room they gave me the restroom area wasn’t stocked or cleaned at all but they were quick to fix there mistake so I appreciate my stay and gave me another room housekeeping came and offered help cleaning early

Because the hotel is right on the beach, the salt air has definitely had an effect on the room. Other than the natural damage of constant humidity and salt air, the room was clean and spacious. The toilet was clogged when we arrived, but the staff was quick to send someone to fix it and we didn't have issues after that. The beach access was right across the street and so convenient for our party.

Great spot for the piece. Right across from the beach. That also means some of the metal appliances have some rust due to the salt. Staff was nice. Bed was comfy, AC works and there is the boardwalk just a 15 minute walk away.

Hotel was decent. The room was cleanish but they definitely don’t do the best job. There were stains on the bed, something gross on the shower curtain and toilet was nasty. Our toilet didn’t flush and when I called for help they told me I could come grab a plunger from the front and fix it myself but they would not fix it for us or bring us the plunger. Breakfast was terrible. Zero options, and all the juice was watered down and had no flavor. Only options was waffles that tasted funny after making them, cereal, and toast.

There was food and open package between beds. near clock. Breakfast was disappointing. no boiled eggs.

Breakfast was horrible and only waffles were good. Right accross the street from beach which was amazing. Rooms were ok. Staff was nice and helpful.

Hotel check in was fine. Got charged $15 to park in the parking lot so I was not happy about that. Breakfast is just the literal basics so don’t depend upon it to get anything but a waffle. The beds were comfy and room was decent but I would not recommend except to sleep for one night, not a long term stay.

We arrived early and were surprised with a $35 charge to check in early. There was no offer to store our luggage so that we could opt out of the unexpected extra charge. The room was average. However, it did not appear that the floor was swept prior to mopping. We do understand that the climate encourages bugs, but there was one live roach that visited in the morning. There was shampoo, conditioner, and lotion; there was no body soap. Not a huge deal since we used the hand soap, but there was a slot for body wash that was empty. The breakfast was minimal. The OJ was basically orange water. You can make your own waffle (which was pretty good). The apples looked like they were at the end of their shelf life. There was a Chex type cereal and white bread to make toast. You should be aware that you cannot leave the lobby with the food; not sure why you cannot take it to your room. We actually cancelled our stay here for when we return from the cruise and booked elsewhere. The ocean is across the street and there were places within a short walking distance to eat and drink, as well as a store that had liquor. Our son and his girlfriend actually decided to leave and stay elsewhere that was nicer for about the same cost. We will not return here. We picked this place because it was a Wyndham… they should really reconsider that branding!

There were several broken, peeling or rusted items in the room. When we got there, there was almost no toilet paper, although the room had been serviced. The breakfast was terrible. The entire property was run down. We were very disappointed considering this is part of the Wyndham chain. Next time we’ll be going to Holiday Inn or the Hampton. What was shown online was very deceptive compared to what we ended up with, plus a $15 a day parking fee? What type of place provides a room, but no parking for their guests?

You pay for what you get! Elevator was not in service, and having to drag bags to the third floor was extremely exhausting. The rooms were neat. A/c in one of our rooms was not working properly. Breakfast only served waffles and toast-total bummer.

No coffee pot in the room. Guests are not suppose to take their continental breakfast back to their room - I hate that.
