Had a great stay at The Embankment! Was met by the very enthusiastic Bethany who made check in a real pleasure and gave us some local recommendations which turned out to be fantastic! Room was clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee was of a high standard, as we're the biscuits! Bar area had a really good vibe and all staff we met/viewed were friendly and professional. Well done all, would definitely stay again.

Comfortable and clean room but rather warm, although there was a large fan. Only had breakfast which was good. Small car park at rear which was full when we arrived so had to use on-street parking which is payable at times. Fortunately a space became available in the car park later in the day. Would stay there again but parking could be a problem.

I stayed 2 nights in the hotel and was joined by family for dinner on the second night. The meal wasn't cheap but it was very good as was the service so worth the money. My room was clean, comfortable and quiet with a lovely modern bathroom and a very good selection of teas and coffees, hot chocolate too and bottled water. I would stay there again but I would ask for a room on the first floor this time because at 71 and with medical issues I found the last flight of stairs exhausting. Overall, lovely hotel in a beautiful location.

Friendly staff in this hotel, food excellent and varied. Lovely big bedroom, comfy beds with vintage furniture, bathroom could do with a bit of a makeover. Superb view looking over the river with the swans and ducks. No lift in the hotel so I did struggle with the stairs.

The location is lovely as you can walk along the canal. However, the room was very warm with no way to adjust the temperature. A fan was provided at bedside. The toilet was running when I first entered and I couldn’t get it to stop. Front desk clerk was very nice and helped me upstairs with luggage as there is no elevator. The restaurant was too busy for good service. Food was mediocre.

Stayed for 2 nights on the first floor when down for work. Spacious room, comfy bed, good size bath. Staff friendly. I was a little worried about noise given that downstairs is a pub/restaurant but it was fine as it closed at 11pm I think. Dinner menu a bit expensive so I decided to eat at local restaurants but the breakfast was delicious with lots of choice. Nice to get salmon and scrambled eggs for example rather than just usual full english options. I would stay here again.

Second visit to this hotel, comfortable and friendly. Check in was quick and room was ready. The room was large, a little chilly when we entered. Turned the radiator on and it soon warmed up. Room was at the back of the hotel, no view, but very quiet. The shower was not as clean as I remember from first visit (obviously different room) - only let down. Had afternoon coffee in bar, a good cappuccino. Breakfast was also very good, menu had a lot of variety. Will visit again.

Staff seemed exhausted and every time I needed something they took a bit of time getting to me. Once they did, they were friendly and helpful. Room was clean, but the bathroom left a lot to be desired. The toilet had brown stains at the bottom of the bowl and there were questionable deposits around the bottom of the shower. The room was very warm and the windows could not be opened. I commented that my room was hot and I was told it was an old building. A fan was provided, but leaving it on all night did create a fair bit of noise. However, the bed was comfortable and the tea and coffee provided were good. The food in the restaurant was good, and a walk along the river in the evening was pleasant. So overall, not bad for a room in pub.

The staff at the Embankment are amazing, friendly and helpful! They made my stay a great experience and would gladly stay with them again. They were so understanding of our emergency, and allowed us a late check out with no hassle. And amazing staff, thank you! The property was extremely well maintained and clean, very cozy and comfortable room. The property has lots of amazing touches that make it comfortable and welcoming. I would definitely recommend a stay.

Fantastic riverfront location very close to Market Square, super nice staff, good parking, comfortable bed & room, great food & pub! Ask for a room with a view. Only negatives were thin walls and lots of door slamming. Owners may want to invest in door dampers.

We booked because we were going to enjoy dinner on the terrace with some music entertainment as advertised on their website. Unfortunately this was a mistake and should have been removed from the marketing. Katie was very helpful and as we couldn’t cancel the booking she arranged for a reduction on our meal cost. Our meal was lovely, plenty to choose from. The room was acceptable, big comfortable bed. We were on 2nd floor so it was hot and the fan was ok but minimally effective in cooling the room. Bathroom was standard. Tea tray was great with good sized mugs and plenty of milk sachets. We were woken too early by people in the room next door allowing their room door to slam. Breakfast was great with plenty of options. Hot, tasty and well presented.

Fabulous stay, the hotel is lovely with friendly and helpful staff. Our room was really lovely overlooking the river, with a large comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious. Would definitely stay here again.

I think the bar manager was a bit stressed & i am not used being told at 9.24 the bars closed as they have started clearing up.He did furnish us with drinks & let us sit outside but put a slight downer on an otherwise nice stay

The room we booked was great but my partner loves a bath. Rachel who checked us in looked at availability and was able to upgrade us to a gorgeous room with a bath. The room was lovely with views over the river. We are locals so know how lovely this area is. The free breakfast was also great, loved the authentic produce. Service was a bit erratic though. In all a great staycation, thank you x

We were attending a wedding down the road and decided to stay overnight in your hotel. The room was clean and well stocked with tea and coffee but disappointed that there was not enough milk in the room. What was great was that we had an amazing view of the river from our hotel room. The breakfast was served hot and we got what we ordered. The breakfast was very filling with as much tea and coffee that we could drink. Staff were very friendly and lovely to talk to. Would stay there again.

Accommodation and staff were perfect! Warm and welcoming and just a generally great vibe in the place.Great position overlooking the river,near bars,restaurants, and shops.Breakfast was lovely and although we didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening the room and menu looked amazing.Would definitely recommend!

It was our 1st stay here. Managed to park onsite. Lovely quiet location opposite the river. Nice outdoor seating area. Pub / resturant had good vibe nicely done. The building is old but well maintained inside and out. Our room was nice and quiet with usual things you find in a hotel room -cant complain and the bath towels were nice and thick. We ate in the pub on the 1st night both had burger and chips which we didnt find that nice and was expensive. Breakfast was good but no cereals available. Would stay here again . Good base to get into central London with fast regular trains. ( approx 15mins walk to station)

We booked because we were going to enjoy dinner on the terrace with some music entertainment as advertised on their website. Unfortunately this was a mistake and should have been removed from the marketing. Katie was very helpful and as we couldn’t cancel the booking she arranged for a reduction on our meal cost. Our meal was lovely, plenty to choose from. The room was acceptable, big comfortable bed. We were on 2nd floor so it was hot and the fan was ok but minimally effective in cooling the room. Bathroom was standard. Tea tray was great with good sized mugs and plenty of milk sachets. We were woken too early by people in the room next door allowing their room door to slam. Breakfast was great with plenty of options. Hot, tasty and well presented.

The location is lovely as you can walk along the canal. However, the room was very warm with no way to adjust the temperature. A fan was provided at bedside. The toilet was running when I first entered and I couldn’t get it to stop. Front desk clerk was very nice and helped me upstairs with luggage as there is no elevator. The restaurant was too busy for good service. Food was mediocre.

I was a little worried about noise given that downstairs is a pub/restaurant but it was fine as it closed at 11pm I think. Dinner menu a bit expensive so I decided to eat at local restaurants but the breakfast was delicious with lots of choice. Nice to get salmon and scrambled eggs for example rather than just usual full english options. I would stay here again.
