Property has good vibes, close to the beach, and a functional kitchen

The best hostel experience i've had to date. Staff are very nice and helpful - I was able to keep my bags in storage for a few hours before and after checkout. Inclusive and friendly group of people including the staff and all other people from the hostel. Will be back if i'm ever in town again.

Close to the beach, lots of chairs, umbrellas, boogey boards to share. If they would just lose the basketball that everyone seems to like bouncing in the courtyard at odd hours of the day, it'd be perfect.

There are many playful amenities, game, basket ball, fitness workout gear, surfboard and more.

I booked a 9-night stay at Waikiki Beachside Hostel through Hotels.com, expecting a comfortable and safe environment. Instead, I encountered one of the worst lodging experiences of my life. Upon arrival, I was assigned to a room that was filthy and reeked of an unbearable odor. Despite this, I left my belongings and went to find parking, only to discover that the hostel doesn’t offer any. When I returned, I was shocked to find a man sleeping in my bed, spitting in all directions. Turning on the light revealed that all four beds were occupied. I reported this to the front desk, but the staff insisted it was impossible. After accompanying me to the room and witnessing the situation firsthand, they still refused to remove the unauthorized occupants. Instead, they told me to contact Hotels.com for a new room assignment. Hotels.com was of no help, providing only empty responses without any real solutions. The hostel’s alternative was to offer me a mattress on the floor, right next to the man who had been spitting. Unwilling to subject myself to such conditions, I spent the night in my car. To salvage the remainder of my trip, I had to pay $1,400 for two nights at a nearby hotel. Both Waikiki Beachside Hostel and Hotels.com ruined my vacation and strained my finances. The hostel was chaotic, dirty, and filled with intoxicated individuals. The staff was unhelpful, and the management showed a complete lack of responsibility. I strongly advise against staying here.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere! Comfortable beds and useful kitchenette. Loved the communal spaces and the evening events. Also loved the partnership with Hi5 sightseeing excursions! Really great deals!

A short walk to the beach. Price is reasonable. There were games and activities that guests could share. The common area gets really loud at night even past midnight and it was difficult to sleep. The beds were Shaky and noisy every time you turned

In an amazing location, offered free pancakes for breakfast every morning and activities every night which was great! An awesome way to meet amazing people from all over the world. Rooms and facilities are clean and it felt very safe and had an awesome outside area. Highly recommend!!

It's a great hostel. I had great roommates up until the last 2 days. The staff and building are great cleaned regularly and lots of events and fun downstairs area. New years was great

Rooms were dirty. Roomates left dirty dishes stacked high in sink. Smells bad in room too.

Easy access to the beach, but the staff is not that helpful, and the place is not well maintained. After one shower, the drain clogs every day, and there is a plunger you have to use it. I found it irritating. Take the rubbish out but the room is not clean. Checking in is no guarantee, even if you wait the time they set. After waiting the whole day to clean the room, you end up in a full dorm, not even clean; they say they are cleaning. I thought I would be in a fresh, clean room. It is a nice place but very neglected

Staff is polite and friendly/helpful, with one exception who seems to act like it’s his home vs a workplace, and how he interacts with women vs men, like it’s a competition. I had roaches throughout my stay and notified David (same one who is the exception) but he was talking with a girl (his priority) and said he’d check it out the next day and never did, and never followed up. Other staff was able to help. First time at a hostel and I would go back, but there are some things that need to be addressed.

I arrived and they gave me a shared room with no light, the bathroom ceiling had a huge hole in it, the next day I returned there was someone lying in my bed that I had with all my personal things, I made my reservation since the middle of the month for 5 days, how could they make a mistake like that, there are a lot of cockroaches, I understand that it's a hostel but even so, we paid to stay in a decent place to rest, the staff was very kind to the incidental person and they moved us to another room but I no longer had the peace of mind to leave anything there again, be careful when reserving a place like that so that your vacation doesn't become stressful and also there is no parking nearby or free everything costs money in Waikiki!

I loved the ensuite bathroom and kitchen. Despite a happy party vibe our room was quiet.

This was an ok hostel, the semi private suite share the bathroom with the other members but we couldn’t use the kitchen etc as it could wake them up. The bathroom was a door away so I had to open a door to get to the bathroom and go through the other people and possibly wake them. If there could be a curtain between the bunks and the bathroom or something that would be helpful

The services was great, the staff was amazing, the room was really hot with only two fans that ran all night. I had one fan on me but then one of the other guest thatbwas staying in the room moved the fan when I was asleep so it was only pointing at him, I woke up extremely hot and sweating. I just got up and moved it back, maybe there should be a better way to keep everyone cool at night. I thought that was very rude of him and Im finding that is just to be expected here in Hawii.

Room was extremely hot and made it difficult to sleep. Beds are cheap so they move a lot when climbing to the top bunk. If you’re looking for cheap this is definitely that. Bathroom door also was difficult to lock, and sometimes didn’t lock. Lobby area is great, and staff were pleasant though. Location is nice, beach is <5 min walk.

The property had exposed pipes and creaky beds. The staff moved me from the room that had the exposed pipes into a room that was alright, but had the creakiest metal bed I have ever slept on. I would stay at a different hostel if I come through Hawaii again

No lie, this place is within a block of Waikiki Beach and also near the Honolulu Zoo! Looking for affordability? This is the place to stay. Rented a bunk in the 4 female room and ended up with a small apartment sized unit which included a kitchen, too!

First time staying at a hostel. It was quite an experience. I loved it. I slept on top of the bunkbed but it keeps on making a sound every time i move and felt bad for the lady sleeping at the bottom. I hope they fix that problem cause the place wasnt bad at all especially for the price.

They originally put me in the wrong room and I had to go back to the office to get moved. One of the girls refused to turn on the ac so the room was miserably muggy and I was unable to sleep. However, the room was clean and servicable. It is a good option if you are by yourself or with a group of friends. Very affordable for what you get.

I had an absolute BLASSST at Waikiki Beachside Hostel. I was very hesitant at first as it was my first hostel experience but it had such warm, welcoming & fun environment. **HUGE SHOUT-OUT to: CJ, Caitlin, Hannah, Vin, Rocky, Amber & (the beautiful soul that creates the media content. I'm sorry, I didn't get your name). Their awesome energy made my stay extra enjoyable! Thank you all for the memories:)

Property nearby was rough but hostel itself was pretty nice, shower worked well and was hot, fairly quiet at night in the hostel though some street noise. Staff was great. I’d definitely stay again.

I loved this place! This was the first hostel I’ve ever stayed in. I was worried about safety but I felt so safe there, everything was gated and secure. The whole place was such a vibe. I loved all the activities they were hosting there and I met so many cool people that I will never forget. It’s a two minute walk from the beach and shops, very convenient. There’s also a little restaurant connected to the hostel so if you’re tired you don’t have to walk to get food. I 100% recommend this place for solo travelers!!

One hour / $3 bus ride from Honolulu airport. Excellent area, 2 minute walk to beach. Shop cheap at Target for groceries .

I loved this place! This was the first hostel I’ve ever stayed in. I was worried about safety but I felt so safe there, everything was gated and secure. The whole place was such a vibe. I loved all the activities they were hosting there and I met so many cool people that I will never forget. It’s a two minute walk from the beach and shops, very convenient. There’s also a little restaurant connected to the hostel so if you’re tired you don’t have to walk to get food. I 100% recommend this place for solo travelers!!

I stayed in female room 6 bed , but there was only 3 person, I make friends here and feel comfortable, you can also drink coffee and tea every morning in lobby, good wifi
