City Hotel Tallinn by Unique Hotels

There were bugs in our rooms. The rooms, we needed three, did not look anything as represented in the pictures. There were no amenities or staff at this hotel. Many of the pictures are from a hotel that is owned by the same company. I would not allow my enemy to stay at this hotel. It truly was that bad. It is a hotel that should be rented by the hour. I walked out with my family and returned the key to the hotel down the street, where we had to pickup the keys. I immediately booked a clean hotel to stay in. I was not given a refund from the hotel even though I did not feel safe there, it was unclean (bugs) and one room smelled like urine and had stains on the wall, another room was unable to open the window with no AC but there was a small fan that would blow bugs and hot air around and it was misrepresented. This hotel is a scam. The positive reviews must be fake. There is no other reason for the misrepresentations.

Good value and quiet, but very basic The main advantages of this hotel are the good value for money and its location. Although it is outside Tallinn’s Old Town, it is still very close and convenient. The room was also very quiet, the bed was comfortable, and the bed linen was of good quality, so we slept very well. However, there are some important drawbacks. We had an issue with the hairdryer. Although the hotel information indicated that a hairdryer was available upon request, we had to leave a €50 deposit to borrow one. The deposit was returned afterwards, but we found this arrangement rather inconvenient. The building itself only contains guest rooms and has no reception. There was only a member of the cleaning staff present, so anything else had to be dealt with at the hotel next door. The room also lacked some basic comforts. Most importantly, the window was locked and could not be opened at all, making it impossible to ventilate the room properly. There was also no window in the bathroom, so the only way to improve air circulation was to leave the bathroom door open, which was not particularly convenient. On the positive side, the breakfast was very good, although it is served at the hotel next door and costs an additional €15. Overall, this is a good option if you are looking for a quiet, reasonably priced place mainly to sleep, within easy reach of Tallinn’s Old Town. Just be aware that the facilities and services are quite basic.

I stayed in a hotel with my 3 kids and we lost electricity right when we came back from evening walk and instead of charging our devices for next day, having hot tea and winding down from the day we had to operate in darkness and go to sleep. They did fixed it in the morning. But more than anything I was surprised how neutral they were. No big deal. I would expect more ''what can we do for you attitude"' or even apologizing next day etc. Nothing.

Smooth check-in down the street, easy to pay for parking, extra bed ready when we came, clean and spacious rooms, great location with short distance to the old town. Would suggest adding a small fridge to the rooms, but aside from that, everything was great.
