Great location, walking distance(approx 1/2 mile) to town. Did everything we needed, location, sleeping arrangements. Shower is a little small, but usable. Parking is shared drive way so a full size truck would be hard, if not impossible, to park in designated spot. Luckily we took the mid size SUV.

Wonderful place for a quick getaway! The listing is accurate- don’t plan on cooking and plan ahead for meals out. The community is wonderful and friendly, but there are only a few restaurants. The parking is tight but was manageable and the water is so close! We walked right to dinner every night. The area is still recovering from hurricanes so there isn’t much for tourists, but this property is a great option if you want to check out the sights in a clean quiet space.

Hidden gem just 2 blocks from downtown and gorgeous sunsets on the water. Property is everything it states and more! Loved rockers on porch overlooking serene gardens with fountains. Cabin is spacious, super clean and provided everything we needed for our perfect weekend stay. Easy walk to all restaurants and shops. Resident chickens in their palm tree coop were an unexpected bonus and fun to watch. No, they did not make noise in case you are wondering! McCormick Management was a dream to work with. We were lucky to meet our hosts who were very sweet and accommodating. We love Cedar Key and will be back to The Depot for sure!

We’re not the “big home” type when we travel — we enjoy places that are simple, rustic, country and personal — and this stay was more than we ever imagined.The 2.5-hour drive from Kissimmee was peaceful, filled with tree-lined roads and quiet stretches. Upon arrival to Cedar Key, we found a small town that feels larger than life. The peace, the scenery, and the serenity were more than we could have hoped for.From the outside, the home looked like a cozy getaway surrounded by plants, mini gardens, and a charming tea area with a small fountain. At the top of the stairs were two wooden rocking chairs, perfect for morning coffee. Once you open the door, you’re welcomed into a beautiful wooden cabin — warm, personal, and incredibly comfortable. The bed was heavenly, and the sofa and pull-out bed were just as inviting. The train-themed décor, complete with lantern-style lighting, added so much charm. There was even a personal table for two.The walk from the cabin to the beaches was under two minutes. We explored the entire town in less than an hour, stopping for coffee, seafood, and even visiting the local library and museum. My husband and I enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing 3 night stay and will certainly consider staying there again! The property is very clean and comfortably furnished. The kitchenette is just right for a short stay with paper plates, utensils, napkins and styrofoam coffee cups, and coffee provided. The bed is very comfortable and the neighborhood is quiet, allowing us a chance to get ample rest. We loved sitting on the front porch rockers enjoying morning coffee and admiring the beautiful backyard, water fountain, and bird feeder. The birds entertained us every morning! We only have a couple of suggestions- a couple of real coffee mugs would be nice, and cushions for the rockers to make them a little more comfortable for long term birdwatching. The cabin's enterior was cute, but the surrounding area was cluttered and featured chickens in the yard, which was not mentioned in the description. The advertised description of the area was inaccurate, as it is a run-down town with brown, murky and stinky water I would not even allow my dogs to play in if they had been with me. Despite claims of available activities, the state park and other attractions listed were either boarded up or closed. If you want to just hang out in a cabin all day then this is right up your alley. But not for someone lookingto get out and enjoy new things to do and see.

Can’t say enough good things about our stay at Cedar Hill Depot VRBO.We arrived to find our mini home away from home for 2 nights tucked into a sandy floral adornment of an island-like little paradise complete with an abundance of tropical flora and fauna including multiple species of birds, mammals and amphibians. All this and more located just a short walk away from views of the sun setting over the Gulf waters. Our living quarters were spacious, clean and comfortable. Most of the shops and eateries in the quaint little coastal town of Cedar Key were within easy walking distance. We stopped in at “Tony’s” for a sampling of their famous clam chowder and couldn’t get away without eating a couple of bowls. We also purchased several cans to take home for friends and family. We ate a tasty country style breakfast the next morning at Second Street Cafe and walked away satisfied and satiated.That afternoon after a nature walk and drive through the Lower Suwannee Nature Preserve, we stopped in at the Tiki Bar just off the main road for a refreshment and light meal. We could not have had a more relaxing and enjoyable experience than we had there at Cedar Key which was highlighted by meeting and having conversations with the delightful owner/proprietor of CHD. This was a rare 5 star experience for sure!

This was a nice place to stay in Cesar Key for a few nights but we are not giving it a high rating because the bed was not comfortable at all. We did not sleep well for two nights. Also the air freshener was really unpleasantly overwhelming. We unplugged it from the wall but still the terrible odor wouldn’t leave the room.

Staying at the Cedar Hill Depot was a great choice. Nice and clean, close to the little strip with restaurants, bars and the water. It is a super cute little cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Property was lovely and cozy for 2 of us, only thing was the couch kept folding up on us when laying on it but we had a great time and would return.

The Cedar Hill Depot is a small studio-style accommodation. I am picky about cleanliness, and everything was very clean! The bed was also comfortable. Be sure to read the listing carefully though. There is no separation between the living room and bedroom, so if your spouse is an early riser and you are not, it may not fit your vacation-style. Also, there is only a small microwave and a small refrigerator with a freezer section that will only hold maybe two ice trays. Keep this in mind when booking because you will need to eat out for most if not all of your meals. The host and management team were both very nice and responded rather quickly. Don't forget to schedule your day around the beautiful sunsets here - only a couple blocks to the most gorgeous sunset view!

We wanted a nice little weekend get away. We have never been to cedar key. The host communicated very quickly with all my questions from the time I booked the cottage. It was very clean and stocked with all the necessities. It was walking distance to 2nd street where we dined out and visited all the cute shops. We can’t wait to go back!

What a charming property! Easy access to everywhere. Met the owners who live next door. Very helpful with ideas for restaurants and things to do. We felt very welcome. cedar Key itself is a charming place. Only drawback on cottage is no cooking facilities except microwave. Other than that perfect!

The property and the host and the area was wonderful. We very much enjoyed staying there. Incredible time kayaking with dolphins all around us, took a small airplane ride from a local pilot, which was wonderful to see the islands, rented bikes, and bikes all around the neighborhoods, great seafood, live music was great and the place we stayed in was Quaint and cute. The only thing we should have done was checked into whether there was a way to do some light cooking. No stove or a hot plate. But we were only there a few days so it was fine. All in all five stars.

My husband and I enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing 3 night stay and will certainly consider staying there again! The property is very clean and comfortably furnished. The kitchenette is just right for a short stay with paper plates, utensils, napkins and styrofoam coffee cups, and coffee provided. The bed is very comfortable and the neighborhood is quiet, allowing us a chance to get ample rest. We loved sitting on the front porch rockers enjoying morning coffee and admiring the beautiful backyard, water fountain, and bird feeder. The birds entertained us every morning! We only have a couple of suggestions- a couple of real coffee mugs would be nice, and cushions for the rockers to make them a little more comfortable for long term birdwatching. Can’t say enough good things about our stay at Cedar Hill Depot VRBO.We arrived to find our mini home away from home for 2 nights tucked into a sandy floral adornment of an island-like little paradise complete with an abundance of tropical flora and fauna including multiple species of birds, mammals and amphibians. All this and more located just a short walk away from views of the sun setting over the Gulf waters. Our living quarters were spacious, clean and comfortable. Most of the shops and eateries in the quaint little coastal town of Cedar Key were within easy walking distance. We stopped in at “Tony’s” for a sampling of their famous clam chowder and couldn’t get away without eating a couple of bowls. We also purchased several cans to take home for friends and family. We ate a tasty country style breakfast the next morning at Second Street Cafe and walked away satisfied and satiated.That afternoon after a nature walk and drive through the Lower Suwannee Nature Preserve, we stopped in at the Tiki Bar just off the main road for a refreshment and light meal. We could not have had a more relaxing and enjoyable experience than we had there at Cedar Key which was highlighted by meeting and having conversations with the delightful owner/proprietor of CHD. This was a rare 5 star experience for sure!
