Viceroy Los Cabos

This hotel is absolutely stunning. Beautiful views. 2 big pools near main building and 2 next to beach! Huge gym with lots of equipment. Great restaurants. Close to airport. We just didn’t like the loud music at night cuz it echoed in courtyard and we have a toddler who was trying to sleep. And the beach was nice but not swimmable due to huge waves and undercurrent.

Spa was great. Had a really good massage. Loved going to the pool, Alberto was the best waiter!!!, the room was a bit loud unfortunately. Wasn’t really able to sleep in due to the noise. But the resort itself is gorgeous as well as the amenities such as the pool. Really close to the town and the art walk was amazing!!! Ubers are easily accessible.

Viceroy was definitely a Cabo stay to remember. Top service, food was excellent (from pool to dinners to room service), spa was phenomenal. I had a massage from Nancy and it was so good I went back for two more services with her! I’ve had a lot of massages before and she was one of the top masseuses I’ve encountered. Service at the pool was stellar! Reynaldo took care of us throughout our stay and made the pool experience a 5 star rating. Their one downfall at Viceroy is the lack of music at the pools, there is no background music to vibe to which made a lot of guests annoyed. The 4 star rationing. Wonderful stay, one of the best food experiences at a resort in Mexico, location is close to the airport, service felt like 5 star ratings (shout out to Reynaldo at the beach and Laura and Oscar for butler service), the spa provided stellar massages (I highly recommend Nancy, she was a magician and made my neck pain disappear! I got two massages because it was so amazing and relaxing). The only downfall at Viceroy is the lack of musical ambiance, either pool had music playing and they wouldn’t allow personal speakers. It felt too quiet, like everyone could hear each other which makes things a bit awkward. I think they do this because there is a DJ on the ‘beach club’ space directly next to the pool, on Viceroy property. You have to pay to sit at the chairs there but there is no pool in that area so it’s kind of a waist to sit in the hot sun without a pool. The DJ’s speakers weren’t loud enough to really reach the adjacent pool side and when we asked to turn it up the people at the residence next to the DJ complained. If there was good music to vibe to at the pool (and doesn’t need to be like a party, just something for a white noise background) than this would absolutely be the place I’d continue coming to in Cabo!

It was the most amazing trip! The hotel was immaculately cleaned! The gym was beautiful the spa was simply tranquil! The entire place smells like sage & cucumbers! I will be back very soon! The restaurants were delicious! I’ve never been somewhere where everything was perfect! From the welcome drink to the departure!

Great service and friendly staff. Very responsive. Super cool architecture by the pool oceanfront area but hotel was comprised of multiple structures and no lobby with presence. Grounds appeared unkempt. Lots of areas needed painting. Hotel opened up onto a regular street and ocean is not swimmable. There were no bars near the pools but the wait staff was attentive.

Excellent service from all staff especially Manuel and Estefania. Pool staff are so helpful and attentive. Property is immaculate and gym exceptional. Food choices at property are very good. Room was wonderful - spacious and incredible views.

A suíte que fiquei era incrível! parecia um apartamento! O check in, foi fabuloso, a primeira vez que recebi todas as informações de voucher para usar no spa, e os drinks de boas vindas nos restaurantes que eu tinha direito. Só achei a parte de café da manhã com ar condicionado pequeno, e acho que deveria ter opções prontas e com variedade para pedir no quarto, já que é tão grande e bom adoraria ter feito o meu desayuno na suite. o spa é muito bom! com sauna, piscina fria e quente, atendimento muito bom! A arquitetura é fabulosa, para fotos e vídeos! Fui em todos os restaurantes e são todos ótimos! Como dica, colocar ombrelones perto da piscina, pois o sol é realmente muito quente e forte em Los Cabos.

Overall, we had a great time here. Above all, the customer service and workers were phenomenal. The staff was so accommodating and excellent. 10/10 in regards to how excellent they were. Given that this is a 5 star hotel, I would say the actual property is more like a 4 or 4.5 stars. The gym was very very nice. The pools were nice but small. I know it’s very difficult to do in the summer but the pools were like saunas. They were so hot. As a 5 star property I would expect this not to be the case. Additionally the spa was great and they had an entire hydrotherapy area which included a hot tub, sauna, steam room and cold plunge… all of the hot hydrotherapies worked but the one we were looking forward to the most, the cold plunge, wasn’t working while we were there. I’m curious how long it has been out of commission. As I mentioned this is what we were looking forward to the most and we were disappointed to find out it wasn’t working. In regards to the location, it was a great location with excellent restaurants all around the area which I strongly recommend. Leading me to my last point — the food. Our biggest issue with the property was the food and drinks. It was outrageously expensive and not good. We tried three of their restaurants on the property and all of them were very average for the price. For example, I paid $38 usd for a wagyu burger and I would’ve preferred a $10 burger from five guys. Every cocktail is $20 at least as well and they are average tasting.

Bugs on my mattress ( they called them ants) I took video and in the US we call them bed bugs. We had to go buy new suit cases, in doing so we had to walk almost 3 miles and then back again. They did not offer to give us a ride, wait in another room for them to finish laund It looks beautiful but the mattresses are disgusting once you take the cover off. I am beyond disappointed that I had to spend my last few hours worrying about this. Just hoping we do not take these “ ants”home with us. For the amount of money you spend to stay here… it was not worth it. Check your mattress for bugs.

Amazing hotel, exceptional service. Rooms are immaculate, grounds are also stunning. Service, especially poolside, is great. Great location close to downtown and a short drive to surfing and swimming beaches. Highly recommend.

Property layout is pretty and the rooms were clean. They need to do maintenance, the pools need to be repainted and so does the hotel.

Viceroy is a beautiful architect designed hotel. The staff is incredibly helpful, our room was superior with king bed, couch and dining area. We enjoyed the plunge pool. Lunch at the beach was amazing, very fresh ingredients. Only FYI is if you need an uber, you have meet them at street level.

The room was great at first sight with very cool features like automatic curtain controls. The balcony is also great it has a bed, table, and a tub. Just another option if you don't feel like going out. The design is neat and chic, It's also convenient to get around in the facility. Overall the property is quite impressive like the picture. The shower room though, gave us some problem. Every time you shower, water leaks from the divider and gets into the walking area, sometimes even close to the entrance if the shower is longer. We use the showing like like we do at home. It takes some time to clean up every time. This shouldn't happen to a 5 start hotel. Next on day 2, the automatic screen for the balcony broke, probably due to strong wind. The bottom part gets picked up by the wind, then drops and bangs the floor, at 6 am. We couldn't sleep and find out that someone walked into the balcony and probably laid on the bed. The door diving the room and balcony did not have a lock. We felt very unsafe and ask Hotel to solve it. They sent someone to repair, and switched our room. We felt it's not enough since you are a 5 star hotel. They handled this okay, but not superb. Lastly, the price to dine there on site was insane. Activities offered by them too, was unreasonably high. They had to call room by room and offer considerable discount to attract . Given the location and many other activity options, I would avoid the on-site restaurant and activities altogether next time.

We loved Viceroy for our Cabo vacation! The service was great. The bathroom in the room was very small for a 2 person room and there were only 2 drawers and 5 hangers between 2 people for a full week of vacation, which made it difficult to find where to store our things for the week. Everything else was wonderful! Beautiful property, great pool area with no splashing children. Easy to get transportation to/from anywhere in an uber or other transportation. Quick 5 min drive to downtown San Jose which is a lovely, cute town with many great dining options and shops.

The room was spacious and clean. It was well stocked and we didn’t need much. The resort is beautiful. The food is solid, overpriced for what you’re getting, but there are a lot of good restaurants nearby.

Very unique property. Loved the design. Staff fantastic. Food excellent. We spent well over $1,000 per night and room was not soundproof to adjacent room. Could hear them talking, phone ringing, coughing and even passing gas. I would not stay there again for this reason.

Viceroy has everything! My friend and I loved it there it was the best experience ever. There are several restaurants and room service available. Our butler Oscar helped us with everything and he was the best we appreciated his kindness. The views are incredible and you can access the beach by the pools.

The staff was absolutely wonderful! Esfania and Miguel were fantastic and took care of our entire crew from the moment we arrived.

The front desk staff was extremely unhelpful. I have Expedia VIP platinum which provides a free upgrade and the hotel lied about having next category of rooms (resort view only) while asking for additional payment for an upgrade for a larger room with partial ocean view. The front desk and restaurant staff has also misinformed us about happy hour offering on at least half a dozen different occasions. There were also issues with noise and security had to be called almost every day in the middle of the night due to drunk people screaming/crying right in our hallway.

The Viceroy property and entire staff were excellent. We appreciated Esperanza at the front desk; Fernando, Javier, Ramon, Ricardo at concierge and bell desk; Brenda and Daniela at Kids Club. Service at pools and restaurants were also excellent. The location was great, as many restaurants and experiences were walkable.

The staff and service were world class. We really enjoyed every minute of our stay. Special thank you to Ramon and Fernando, who made every moment special!!! We will be back!

For the price, I didn't find the resort to be that excellent. We had issue after issue with billing, starting with two different trips to the front desk to pay our room balance and resolve an issue with the hold for our incidentals, all of which SHOULD have taken place at the time of check in. Instead, the wait staff embarassed myself and my partner in front of a group of friends to chase us down for payment multiple times. On our final day, our server brought us a check for nearly double the cost of what we spent on drinks and lunch. After reviewing the bill, we identified the error, called it out to the server, and the next bill that came was for even more than that. I felt nickel and dimed at every turn, and for a 5 star resort at this cost, truly felt like there should have been some inclusions. Our room was truly beautiful, and I appreciated how well appointed it was, but cleaning service often didn't show up until after 4:00pm. I would not return to this resort.

Very unaccommodating considering we both got terribly ill with the flu right before arrival, not to mention highly contagious—we opted to leave the resort out of concern for everyone else's safety, and the resort would not lift a finger to help us with the circumstances. They repeatedly denied my request for a voucher (not even a refund!) to stay at the resort in a couple months, which I was willing to book on the spot. I have just booked my next Cabo vacation at the Waldorf, happily spending more money for the peace of mind that they will treat us like humans (not revenue items like Viceroy).

Anniversary stay for my wife and I. They went above and beyond. The host Jorge went the extra mile during our stay, Jorge did everything to make my wife’s and I anniversary amazing and memorable.

The staff here is really great, I appreciated everyone’s attention to detail and service orientedness.

What a spectacular resort! It's so incredibly beautiful and we were absolutely blown away by the warmth, friendliness, and helpfulness of all of the staff. Honestly, it was the warm welcoming and care by the staff that really up-leveled the experience for us. Every meal we ate was amazing. We can't wait to come back!

Not close to tourist places, if you want to relax all day and chill by the pool this is the place. Overall very nice!

Beautiful property! I mean, every where you look - it's stunning. Very aesthetically appeasing. The food options are fresh and delicious - VERY pricey. An acai bowl was $33 I believe. French toast was more, maybe $37 lol

What’s to say? Service is impeccable. Food is amazing, and if you have any food allergies they are very accommodating. As a vegan, they were able to modify when needed. Multiple pools. Go to the one the furthest back. Will stay here again.

The hotel is nice. The view was great and the gym was well appointed. The beds were a bit hard, not horrible, but not the most comfortable. The food was mediocre and EXTREMELY overpriced. The "American Breakfast" was $46 (include 16% mandatory tip). We're taking 2 eggs, bacon, potatoes and fruit. I'd expect to pay that in a nice hotel in NYC, but we're talking Cabo here! For dinner, we ate at Cielomar on the rooftop. Great view and the service was good. Again, it felt like price gouging. My daughter had a 7oz filet and it was $101. I'm not trying to nitpick, but the same filet at an upscale steakhouse in Scottsdale, AZ is $71 (with tip)... generally, Mexico isn't a 30% premium to US prices. We also had an incident where the service staff entered our room without knocking. My wife had just exited the shower, and luckily had dressed 30 seconds prior. Lastly, we were charged $200 for a massage we didn't get. I have emailed the hotel, but have't heard back yet. Everyone was nice, but we've stay elsewhere in Cabo and had better experiences.

We really love Viceroy. The design of the resort is amazing. It gave you a sense of peace. The hotel is very carefully about details, so it makes you feel very comfortable. It is very clean and spotless. The food at rooftop restaurant is great, steaks are perfect. The waiters are very nice and we had fun with them for two dinners. Thank you Viceroy!

Viceroy was beautiful. A little limited food wise and the food was okay. We had an incident with the concierge that initially made us mad but I think they did the best they could to remedy the situation.

Resort is small and has beautiful views. Staff is very friendly. Food and drinks are good but exceptionally overpriced compared to other five star resorts. Cabo as a whole has become extremely overpriced.

Pros - This place is definitely beautiful and upscale. Rooms are nice. Cons - Ridiculously expensive for absolutely no reason. Unless the reason is to remain exclusive. The resort has limited options in terms of restaurants available on the premises. There are some nice places to eat around, some are within walking distance (20 min walk). The biggest disappointment for me was the bedding. It felt like cardboard although they claim premium bedding (whatever that means). Absolutely unacceptable for this price point. Another let down for me was I booked an ocean view room and tried to request the tub on the balcony but received no response from Viceroy. When I arrived and mentioned my preference and also mentioned I am a platinum member it meant absolutely nothing to them. I was there around Christmas time and they had lots of little events but everything costs $$$ nothing was free except for the terrible drink I had that they welcomed me with. I say come here at least once if you love beautiful aesthetic places and/or to be exclusive (not a crowded resort)/. I would only return for the latter. Just me....

Breakfast options were limited, so it was a little disappointing ,the Mexican restaurant had good food, roof top ambiance was mind boggling, our one bedroom suite was amazing , very clean and they had great room service and turn down service , butler assigned to us was on top of their game .

Very luxurious resort. Picturesque. However, absolutely no night life, limited food options and very quiet.
