JW Marriott Charlotte

Clean, modern hotel. The pool was a bit smaller than expected and was really crowded, but to be expected on a Saturday in the summer. Nice, friendly staff. Nice fitness center.

We love the place; receptionists and people so nice and always open to help you. Clean, updated, beautiful rooftop bar and pool.

Wonderful location!!! Walking distance to most attractions. Very clean. Very quiet. I am sensitive to noise and stayed on the 5 floor but had zero issues from external or internal noise. The absolute best part was the staff. The gym was well-equipped and clean and I used it everyday.They were incredibly accommodating, pleasant and solicitous. They really bent over backward to assist us, even with locating a lost phone. I cannot say enough about how incredible the staff at this property is. While many hotels are nearby, I truly believe that this hotel’s staff is unmatched.

Staff members were amazing and the room was great. However there were multiple “functions” and “private parties” that made the restaurants, pool, and rooftop bar unavailable to anyone not involved in those events. We booked this hotel for its amenities, and were rarely able to use them,if at all.

Valet parking was a nightmare. We used the app and in many instances it took 20 to one time 30 minutes to get our car and when arriving we had to sit on street for up to 10 minutes to leave car. Very hazardous set up.

Comfortable, spacious and efficient in helping guests navigate their stay. Elevator system is amazing! Never had to wait more that 10 seconds for the elevator! Staff was friendly, cheerful and customer focused!

Excellent stay! The hotel is beautiful, very clean, and offers great amenities, including the roof-top pool and bar. Can’t wait to return!

Great upscale property. However I have stayed here twice, and had a problem with valet parking both times. I pre-paid for valet parking, and the hotel charged me separately for valet parking. When I tried to dispute the charge, they responded that they had not charged me separately..? I have the statements to dispute it but it has been such a pain for something that never should’ve happened in the first place.

Great place to stay. Best Elevator technology I have seen with it being a large hotel with several restaurants and floors, makes getting around very easy.

I enjoyed my stay and the food was good. Also, most of the staff were excellent and attentive. I was disappointed once I looked around my room because the carpet was dirty, the shower didn't seem recently cleaned and the drain cover was disassembled and leaning against the shower wall... I was only here for a night.

The cleanliness was questionable

This is a beautiful property with great dining and a nice and attentive staff. I took 1 star away because when I woke up in the morning I noticed there was a black sock on the bed under my sheets. The sock was left by some other guest, but the sheets and bed seemed clean, I'm assuming the sock got washed in the laundry and stuck to the sheets. It did creep me out a little.

We were in town for one evening and very much enjoyed our stay. Our check-in from valet parking until we entered our room was seamless. Room was spotless, bathroom was well appointed. Overall great experience.

Great location to be able to walk to the Nascar museum, parks, and great restaurants. There was a half eaten piece of bread from the previous guest under the nightstand.

Staff very attentive,housekeeping didnt miss a thing and the room was immaculate with the best city view day or night. Valet parking staff couldn't have been nicer.Best experience. Thank you for just being a great place to relax and have a little fun.

This hotel is superb! Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. The room was quiet and extremely comfortable - and I didn’t see a speck of dirt anywhere. We’ll be back!

We ordered room service. At some point during the room being cleaned, the ketchup bottle was evidently dropped and broken. We weren't notified of this, we discovered it when my daughter cut her foot on a piece of glass that was left behind. Upon closer inspection, I found several large pieces of glass in the carpet, some an inch long, as well as ketchup on the base board and floor near where the glass was found. I gathered at least six pieces of glass in a bowl and took them to the front desk and explained the situation. I asked that the carpet be vacuumed and mentioned the ketchup. We went back out and when we returned the ketchup was still present and I still saw glass specks in the carpet. They sent a housekeeper, who stood in our room and called someone on her phone, spoke to them in Spanish thinking we wouldn't understand and told them they didn't see any glass (I'd already picked up the big pieces). She vacuumed and left the room, ketchup still on the baseboards. Over the course of the weekend I spoke with at least 6 members of staff including a manager and it seems that saying sorry and vacuuming the carpet was enough for them to consider the matter resolved when my daughter was injured. We were charged full price for our reservation, and then charged additional for parking despite it being included in the reservation on Expedia. So my daughter was injured due to staff neglegence and we were overcharged $150, which I'll now have to fight to get back. Won't be back.

Super nice staff and clean rooms

We found the same issue as the last time we stayed in May; the moldy, stuffy smell in the bedroom. The windows don't open, so much more attention to ventilating the room must be taken. Even the pillows smelled used & stuffy. Unacceptable for a hotel this new. We did mention this in May to the manager. We did try different rooms, but the bad smell was consistent. Also the person doing the check out was super dismissive; almost rude

Great facility and location. The one way road in front of hotel has been shifted from 3 lanes to 2 and it is really hard for staff to get cars in and out because traffic backs up. A city issue. The lighting in the rooms is really dim, especially at night. We had a great visit, though, and would definitely come back!!

Air conditioner was so loud

Great service. My room was located right next to a staffing area and right next to the rooftop bar. There was a lot of noise and distractions in the room.

Great location with comfy beds. Standard rooms are small and tvs do not support streaming from your phone. A JW should have better tech. A smoke alarm went off late a night with instructions to evacuate, but it cut off so fast it was clear it was a false alarm. Unfortunately, not all guests came to the same conclusion and footsteps in the stairwell kept me up for the next 45 minutes. Final complaint, room did not have any replacement rolls of toilet paper.

Awesome king corner accommodations

This was a beautiful hotel and staff were very professional and helpful. My one complaint is the street noise. I have stayed at hotels in cities all around the country and the world, and this was one of the nosiest as far as being able to hear street noise from my room. I was on the 8th floor, yet I could hear cars going by revving their engines every few minutes all evening. I finally called the front desk and they sent up a box fan to use for white noise. I also had to sleep with ear plugs in. Perhaps they need to consider adding better soundproofing windows. Other than the noise, this hotel was lovely.

Everything about this property was great, except the bed (mattress) and bedding. I opted to sleep on the couch the second night because the mattress is so hard. It felt like I was sleeping on the floor. Making my hip hurt the next day. And the bedding felt like plastic. Honestly the uncomfortable bed made me want to go home as soon as possible.

The room was very comfortable and new .

The staff are all great, very polite, and helpful. My issue is with the rooms. They clearly have an AC issue that isnt being addressed. The room i payed extra for to have a better view the AC nor the fridge worked properly. I had the room set at 68/69 and the room would never cool down past 75. I woke up sweating in there. We changed rooms at 2am. They put us in a cheaper room. Again the AC in this one wouldnt go below 74. At least the refrigerator worked in the second room. Also the "complimentary water had been alresdy opened and drank out of. Last but not least the shower leaked through the poor grout job around the shower. No it didnt come through the door. The front desk wasnt much help he thought 20k Bonvoy points would cover the inconveniences. That wouldn't even cover a quarter of the cost of the room. I paid over $500 for this room. Literally the worst JW Marriot I've stayed at ever.

Only complaint was the mini fridge in our room. It wasn’t cold enough to keep anything chilled.

We are staying at this JW until Monday, here for business. However the service is definitely lacking and rude if you complain about anything. So this morning the housekeeper was eager to clean the room that she even wake up us knocking five times even though we had the do not disturb sign at the door. When we went downstairs I told the front desk about so she probably got mad about it that she didn’t make our room up, by the time we got back late this evening after meetings all day long and wanted to take a shower and relax. We get to find the room all a mess and no clean towels, plus the TP and the box of cleaners were taken out of the room as well. I’m not sure how this hotel operates but this is worse than a Motel. Yesterday it was the valet parking people, we scan the barcode 25 minutes before going downstairs and we get there and nothing, however I noticed a few other people just went and ask for their vehicle without scanning the barcode and they got theirs vehicles way before ours. When I went and I asked the young man about my vehicle he mentioned that it was a mistake and he will get it right away, however those other people were white and of course we are two professional Hispanics. I believe this one to many incidents even after getting a call from the management during the day, the incident still went unanswered. We still got two more days here at Charlotte, however I don’t believe we will finish our stay at this want be luxury hotel.

The wonderful lady at the front desk by the name of Khadijah went above and beyond to help us with our reservation. She was also extremely accommodating with helping us find the right rooms to fit my families needs. The hotel was extremely clean, comfortable, and every staff member serviced us with a smile. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking for comfort, cleanliness, and a friendly staff.

Fantastic Service!!

The hotel is very clean. But I found the staff not super friendly. I requested a wake up call, and confirmed the wake up call (for 5 am.) No wake up call happened. I luckily set my phone alarm as a backup and so did not miss my flight.

Hotel staff checking in was great. Accomdations good. The pool bar and service was shockingly bad. Very unprofessional. Non hotel guests get priority at the restaurant over hotel guests at the pool. Being people their drinks if it’s going to take 30 minutes. The bar staff made people wait unacceptable periods of time. When the bar was super busy they were carrying out personal conversations with other staff or engaging in long winded conversations with guests while 10-15 others waited to give drink orders. A lot can be cleaned up here.

The property and service at JW Marriott Charlotte is top-tier. From the moment I exited my car the service was amazing. Everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and inviting. Keisha checked me in for my reservation, and she was very kind, courteous, professional, and personable - we chatted like old friends. I used to stay at a different hotel whenever I’d visit Charlotte - JW Marriott Charlotte is now the property I’ll be staying at whenever I’m in Charlotte from now on.

The JW Marriott is exceptional! The valet is seamless! The customer service is top notch. We loved our Executive Suite upgrade.

Loved the location. It was a couple streets away from where all the action is, making it a convenient, quiet, and comfortable stay. I highly recommend!

Was there for music concerts. Room 1702 was fantastic excellent views. Hotel is perfect downtown location with excellent onsite restaurants.

Great walking distance to Bank of America Stadium

Was very clean and the staff was very professional. Valet was excellent. Elevators were great. Hotel was very secure, not a single worry about someone gaining access to the hotel that was authorized. We were roomed on the 10th floor and traffic could still be heard all night. The area outside the hotel smelled of sewage and seemed dirty, but I think from what we could tell that was all of Charlotte. Walking was easy there, plenty of streets to get to shops and restaurants, but seemed full of homeless people begging.

Excellent customer service and walking distance of the main attractions. Dining options were excellent.

This hotel is fabulous. It is a newer hotel so everything is clean, bright and fresh. The service was great. The staff were friendly and professional. The location of the hotel is in the heart of Charlotte and so many good restaurants, bars, and entertainment are easily within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends and family.

Good stay . Disappointed with the food at Deans Restaurant. Pasta was overcooked and the Lobster Pasta was way too salted .

We got to the hotel around 9am and were able to check in early which was awesome. Food at Dean's was AMAZING, we usually never eat at the same place twice on vacation but we broke that rule for this place. Room was clean, rooftop was beautiful and everyone was so friendly! 10/10 recommend.

Perfect location for events at the stadium and convention center. Was impossible to get into either of its restaurants onsite.
