Room was comfortable and warm. The bathroom area could have been a bit cleaner. Parking was fine. Only staff was at check-in and he was very pleasant. There was no housekeeping service. We could have used some clean hand towels and certainly another days worth of coffee pods.

Older property but seems well maintained. Price was well below other options in the area. Convenient location away from high tourist population. Short drive to everything you need. Plenty of options for restaurants close by as well as a small grocery store.

The property is fine for sleeping, a microwave in room would be a nice addition.Alai the website shows a cute white picnic table by the waterway, it's the only picnic table on site and now weathered and gray, which you could be ok with, but there is also an environmental fence that's been there since 2017... So please update the site for accuracy.

Gorgeous view at high tide of mt desert narrows. No desk staff between 9pm-1pm so know that. No amenities besides 1 communal microwave soap and shampoo in rooms and tv fridge. Room clean beds new for price and 15 drive to bar harbor you arent finding much cheaper for clean. Overall a nice hotel motel

Pros: great price and only about 20 minutes from downtown Bar Harbor. Room options (bed sizes, harbor views, etc.) Super comfy beds. Relatively quiet as it's away from the downtown business. Cons: limited amenities in the rooms. Fridge and microwave upon request and subject to availability. (But there is a communal microwave in a common space upstairs which I did use). Office can be tough to get hold of if you need something. I'd probably stay here again as the value outweighed the cons!

This was advertised as an ocean front property. We did have a balcony that overlooked the water but it was more a bay than oceanfront. The room was clean and bed comfortable. The bathroom sink was right next to the entrance door. There were no elevators (only 2 floors)and the stairs leading up to the second floor were on the outside of the building and very old and steep. There was a refrigerator and hair dryer but no iron or microwave. No breakfast available but did a kurig coffee maker in room. The walls were very thin and unfortunately for us the people next to us had their tv on loud all night. The ac was hard to operate/regulate. We’ve come to realize in this part of the country you rarely see chain hotels and most are old and privately run. It wasn’t horrible but if I ever came back would look for a different option. Rates are crazy this time of year but I was hoping $216 a night would get us a better place. Also they charged $10 per additional person after 1??

This property is fairly convenient to Bar Harbor with relatively reasonable rates and beautiful views to the ocean. The bed was very comfortable but the hallway, stairway, and common spaces are not maintained. The room cleaning service was thorough and check in was efficient. However, no information was given as to who to call if something doesn’t work. The hair dryer stopped working during use and I did not have a number to call for a replacement. The check in office is a distance away in another building to talk to the attendant. There was also no information regarding check out procedures. The bed was comfy if you like softer mattress firmness. The amenities were basic, but enough for a few day trip. The AC was a benefit if needed during the Summer times. The room walls are semi-thin unfortunately guests next door choose to blast TV volume late each night, but nothing headphones can't solve. The location is great spot for wanting to be close to Bar Harbor, but not pay arm in a leg for accommodations. It is just off the main stretch heading to and out of the island to Bar Harbor. Read the reviews before booking! I only read the top ones, which was a big mistake. For the price, this hotel is not worth it. The rooms are musty and dirty, and everything in our room was damp—the floors, bedding, and walls. There was a damp rid bag that was completely full. After much back and forth, we asked for another room. The second room was slightly better but still smelled gross and was dirty. There were smeared handprints everywhere, and it seemed like the cleaning staff had only changed the sheets, if that. I’m sure there are cheaper and better options nearby, so check those out before staying here. We would have left and honestly contemplated sleeping in our car, but we were already $200 in the hole. When I woke up, I did not feel clean. Island View, you need to make serious updates before charging those prices.

Location was great, the beds super comfortable, the bathroom and shower was super clean. You need a car ah also convenient for Bar Harbor en 15 20 minutes and Acadia Park. A plus, the view at the lake! Highly recommended and affordable!

Location was great. Carpet always felt wet. Knats we constantly coming out of the bathtub. This property is under the same umbrella as holiday inn. Shame on them.

Smelled musty, AC/heater made it even worse. Mold in the shower. Toilet was clearly not cleaned. Trash not cleaned out, and trash and stains on the floor. So much potential for the property, but so poorly executed.

The floor in our room was covered in mould, we had to keep our shoes on. And slept with socks, the room was incredibly damp all of the bedding was damp as well; we got there as a late check in and there was no staff on site to try and discuss the issues with.. wouldn’t recommend.

Room smelled musty, pillow case smelled unclean. No windows that opened. Tub was stained, water was brown when it first came out of the shower head. No water pressure in the cold water faucet. Property was pretty, staff was nice and attentive.

If you want Bay view, only works on the 2nd floor. First floor bay view is somewhat bad unless you sit outside or keep the door open.On first floor, shutters over the window do not keep out any of the light, including the parking lot light which is very.bright.

David at the front desk was so helpful and friendly! View was great. Location to Bar Harbor and Acadia was great without being IN the hustle and bustle. Super convenient to restaurants. Overall a great experience. Room was eh but super adequate, bed was comfy. Served our needs at a very affordable price.

The property was not a 4 minute walk to Acadia National park as advertised. It was 20 minutes by car at least, as we encountered delays due to road construction, mor like 35 minutes for us. The guy at the front desk would not help us out for a problem we had when we first got into our room, and when I wanted to speak to management, he said he was the manager and that is that. There are many other choices closer to downtown bar harbor that I wish I knew about. We booked the most expensive room , and well I wouldn't stay there again.

Half of the rooms in the island view Inn don’t have a Half of the rooms in the island view Inn don’t have an island view and there’s no mention of that on the website. Biggest problem was ran out of hot water the second night and into the second morning. No response from housekeeping or the front desk. Highly disappointed. Would not recommend for that reason. Spend your energy researching other places. There’s plenty of them.

This wasn’t our favorite stay. We showed up at 2:30pm to a sign that said ‘will be back at 3pm’… we left and came back at 3:07 and there was a sign that said ‘will be back at 4pm’….. we waited around a bit because we wanted to get ready for dinner and had travelled all day. Luckily someone came out of the office and helped us get our keys. Very pleasant and kind man. The room was not anything fancy, but it did have a comfy bed. Our room had fruit flies and air conditioner did not work. I did send a message through Expedia regarding the AC not working, and received a call at 9:30pm saying we could be moved (but by that time we were in bed and unpacked). I do appreciate their efforts to try and make it right. It was fairly quiet, and about a 12 minute drive to Bar Harbour

This is a clean and basic motel at a good price, with amazing views of Mount Desert Island across the bay. The location is very convenient and very close to the bridges that take you to the island. I think you can pick up a free shuttle bus to Acadia from a spot near the motel. The drive to Bar Harbor takes about 20 minutes. The island is definitely bigger than I realized!

Welcoming staff, clean room, comfortable beds, and fabulous view! You can also catch the Island Express Bus to travel pretty much anywhere. Really convenient since Bar Harbor and some parts of Acadia are hard to park.

Nice, quiet hotel that met our needs for visiting Acadia NP which was about 15 minutes away. Reasonably priced and across from the very best lobster pound around. Dining choices otherwise pretty limited nearby. Found a good breakfast place about a mile away. Nice view on one side. Would definitely recommend this place.

Last minute stay as we added a day to our trip. BEST HOTEL BED IVE EVER SLEPT IN!! My husband and I are bed people we need a comfy bed and this bed was amazing. I wish our whole stay was here. Also it’s close to the park right and across from Trenton Lobster Pound.

David was so friendly during our check in. He went above and beyond helping with restaurants and had an extra blanket brought up to our room. The view from our room was amazing. Not some fancy high end resort, just a great place to stay that was quiet and comfortable and convenient.

Check in staff was great. Bed was clean. The bathroom could’ve definitely been better. There was hair on the bathroom floor and in the tub. The grout in the tiles was moldy by the shower. The toilet seat was not cleaned.. there were fruit flies in the sink drain. room wise it was fine but once you stepped into the bathroom area was where we were disappointed. The room had a wet feel to it. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The stay was okay, but could’ve been better. And hoped for better considering the price we paid for the weekend. The view was nice, and noise upstairs wasn’t too bad.

at home I am very spoiled with my bed. it's a king size bed. it's comfortable. it's soft. it's perfect and no hotel has ever lived up to my bed standards until this hotel best hotel bed I've ever slept in in my life. the view is also really amazing and our stay was pretty quiet and calm and peaceful. I loved it. 10 out of 10 would return again
