This is a clean, no frills, and inexpensive motel just outside New Haven. Nothing special, but it has a microwave and a fridge, which is nice.

I booked this motel based on high customer ratings. I was greeted nicely by a young man at Reception. He didn’t want to charge me as he said I’d have to pay Hotels.com. I explained that’s not how it worked but he insisted. Okay. I checked into my room. It was clean, if overly perfumed so that my eyes stung. The front desk called, another person. He said I had to return to Reception to pay. He explained that the motel was now under a new owner. I gathered that they were still learning. I went and paid. I was traveling with a 93 year old woman who had gone to sleep upon arriving at the room. The room was at 81 degrees. I turned the AC to 75. It ran for 5 minutes and stopped. There were no instructions. I tried several times but got the same result. The toilet flushed the first two times of use, then the water kept running and the tank did not refill. An installed device in the tank prevented closing the gasket as is done in residential toilets. I eventually turned off the water pipe at the toilet. I thought I had booked an accessible room for my senior traveler but found it was not so. At the shower the tub was so slippery that I could not get purchase. I placed a towel to stand without falling. Next morning I went to the desk to tell them about my issues. No one there. I called and someone answered hello. I tried again later and explained my issues. He asked me why would tell him now since I had checked out. He made no apologies for the issues. Awful service
