Hôtel du Palais de l'Isle

The room even at the lowest price was still very small. The elevator was extremely small. There is no main lobby area or sitting area for hanging out. The location is excellent. The staff was very helpful. The rooms are clean. They turned the air conditioning on on request otherwise it would have been a very warm room.

Vårt rum var nyrenoverat och mycket fräscht, uppe under takåsarna. Mycket mysigt. Ett plus för aircondition, kylskåp och vattenkokare. Det var snedtak, så duschen satt rätt lågt, kanske ett problem för långa personer men vi hade inget problem med det. För att komma till receptionen fick man ta en liten hiss upp en våning från gatuplan. Var lite krångligt då det var många som skulle checka in vid samma tid. Sedan fanns bara denna lilla hiss och en smal trappa för att ta sig till och från rummet. Hotellet ligger precis vid den mest populära gatan i gamla stan så det är mycket folk i rörelse utanför, men vi stördes inte av något oljud från gatan. Det gick inte att köra ända fram till hotellet, men det finns ett stort underjordiskt parkeringshus i närheten och om man parkerar där får man en bra rabatt på parkeringsavgiften från hotellet. Frukost finns att boka mot en extra avgift. Vi åt inte frukost på hotellet. Personalen i receptionen var trevlig och serviceminded.

Enjoyed the quaint hotel and its location in the old town area. It's rather difficult to park far away and drag your suitcases to the hotel. No cars are allowed near the hotel. The room was fine, and the lady at the check-in was helpful.

Das Hotel liegt mitten in der Altstadt. Tritt man aus der Tür ist man mitten drin, direkt an der Insel. Auch wenn es keine Parkplätze gibt, kann man das Auto sehr günstig in den angegeben Parkhäusern in der Nähe über Nacht stehen lassen. Gern wieder.

Great experience at this hotel. Location is excellent, right off Perriere Bridge. Parking garage is off site but a short walk to the hotel. It is a public parking garage but the hotel offers a big discount on your overnight stay. There was a line to enter the parking garage but line moves quite fast so don’t be discouraged and wait for your turn. Check in and check out processes were easy. The hotel lobby is quite small but our room was very big (we were a family of 4), comfortable, well decorated, new and clean. Bathroom was very good, as well. Room was quiet at night and early morning. No problems at all with noise coking from the street. We highly recommend this hotel.

Good location. Next to lake and restaurants. Parking can be found in hotel de ville, they give you 50% off. Springy bed

Central location is ideal but very busy, access to the building was a bit slow with the small lift but staff were very friendly & helpful, parking was subsidised which was a bonus

Great little hotel. Staff were fantastic. Bang in the middle of the old town but the glazing was good so we got to sleep OK. We parked at the town hall multi storey which was busy but not expensive, and only a five minute walk away. Recommended

Ungt och hippt hotell med fantastiskt läge mitt i gamla stan. Parkering i garage några minuters gångväg från hotellet. Går ej att köra fram till hotellet utan du får själv ta ditt bagage från garage till hotell.Mycket trevligt bemötande och service.

This hotel is centrally located. Right in the middle of all the restaurants, shopping. It is also conveniently located for the lake and bike hire places. All within easy walking distance. The bus station is about 15minute walk. The room we were gicen (48) was small and it seemed there wasn't enough ventilation and felt a bit stuffy. So I opened the window to allow fresh air. Unfortunately the windowsill was full of pigeon droppings. This was the reason for the low score. This could have easily been cleaned. Allsaid, this is not a bad hotel for a couple of nights. Centrally located and convinient for sightseeing.

The room and bathroom were not clean. it did not look like the bathroom had been cleaned in a while. Our window opened to a dirty alleyway behind a restaurant. It was a gross view.

Room is clean and updated

Hôtel très bien situé au cœur de la vieille ville, à 2 min à pied du lac. Gare assez proche (environ 1 km, facilement accessible à pied). Une chambre très propre et une literie confortable. Au vu de la prestation, un prix très correct pour un mois de juillet. Nous nous sommes régalés au petit déjeuner, un buffet complet, il y en a pour tous les goûts. Le petit plus, un personnel très accueillant et sympathique, toujours prêt à vous renseigner et vous aider. Ça change des franchises hôtelières. Nous recommandons vivement cet établissement.

This property is riddled with BLACK MOLD. Do not stay here! My infant son became ill and suffered respiratory issues after staying here. It was all through the grout and in every corner of the bathroom, I couldn’t even use the shower out of fear of getting sick. You can smell it in the room as well. I spoke to reception and they did not even offer me a new room (though this wouldn’t have made a difference - it is throughout the whole hotel). The property manager is refusing to address the issue and is ignoring communication from me and from Expedia as well. We had to cut our trip short and leave France early due to my son becoming sick from the mold. Do not risk your health and risk ruining your trip - stay somewhere else!

Spotless

Property was very clean. Staff were amazing and Annecy is beautiful. Downside was the tiny lift and our room was very small as its shoe horned into the loft. Just wanted a shower and you have to kneel or sit in the bath to do so. That said breakfast was amazing and we were met with a smile.

The hotel was quite nice and our room on the top floor had a great view of the bustling street below. As in many historic areas in Europe, our room was small though adequate, made smaller yet by the slanted ceiling under the roof. Plan your stay well by packing a small overnight bag as you will have to carry it in from the garage. Steep streets.

Perfect location to be walking about town. Fun, unique hotel with clean comfort. Location, location, location is the number one thing. BUT, if you are a light sleeper it stays quite loud until 2-3AM. The window would need to be closed to eliminate noise. Wonderful stay, no true complaints.

Room 404 is at the top of the hotel, and although fairly spacious, and has several conditions to consider: 1) room access requires going up/down its own flight of stairs, 2) due to sloping roof, it is difficult to stand up in the shower and the head of the bed being under the slope also requires care when getting in or out, 3) the only clothes storage is a cupboard with two shelves – no hanging spaces at all, 4) very dim lighting overall, with the only bathroom light being on one side of the mirror – not conducive to makeup or shaving, 5) space between the end of the bed and the wall is very tight. Breakfast buffet choices were limited, and seating can be an issue at times. On the plus side, electrical outlets were plentiful and well-located, the air conditioning worked well, there was a great view of the old city rooftops and the Palais de l’Isle on the river. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for exploring Annecy. Taxis can come to the hotel only until 11 am. I would stay here again, but in a different room.

Despite the amazing location I have scored this low due to the awful outlook from our room. There was no daylight visible and we looked down on all of the recycling bins. This in itself wasn't pleasant, but woudn't have caused me to write this review. However, alongside the view there was constant noise from staff dropping bottles into the bins from very early to very late, meaning we couldn't have the windows open. There were numerous pigeons sat on the ledges outside (and we saw them going into the kitchen) We obviously couldn't risk them coming into our room, so despite it being very warm at night we couldn't have any fresh air in the room. This also wouldn't have been an issue if the air con was working, but they had turned it off a few days before we arrived. I spoke to reception about this and they were unable to do very much at all. There was no room to move to until our last day (we didn't take them up on this as we were leaving the following morning) and they offered a fan if we wanted it. I felt that the photos of the hotel before booking did not represent what we got. I am sure there are rooms in the hotel with those views, but that wasn't room 25! Aside from that, the staff were actually all very pleasant, and the hotel itself is in an amazing position. The styling of the room was really lovely, but very much lacked anywhere to store clothes, we ended up having to live out of a suitcase on the floor.

Some rooms lack a view, but are also priced accordingly.

Amazing location, nice decor if slightly tired in the bathroom. What pushed this stay into 5 star territory was the service. The staff were friendly, attentive and efficient. Special mention goes to the reception team member who looked after us in the breakfast space after we couldn’t find a place for dinner on New Years Eve. He warmed our traitor bought dishes in the microwave, provided a corkscrew and sold us beer. He even selected classy music for the occasion. A potential crisis averted, converted to a memorable, enjoyable night.

Nice little hotel. We find the building quickly after parking about a 5-min walk away. Small elevator, tight hallways, and a small but nice room. Right by the river and very close to the shopping area and restaurants. Some parts of the room seemed a bit rough around the edges but nicely decorated and good amenities.

Perfect location, very nice staff, clean and comfortable room. Would definitely stay here again if make it back to Annecy. Be aware that you cannot drive cars near the hotel, it is only accessible by foot. A little tricky bringing roller suitcase over cobblestone roads, but well worth it!

Chambre face a l’ascenseur très bruyant, chambre petite pour 125 euros la nuit. Petit déjeuner très cher pour ce qu’il y a. Seul point positif en hyper centre.

agréable séjour de 2 jours, hôtel très propre, personnel très accueillant, aucune nuisance, petit déjeuner varié à volonté.

If you have followed my reviews, this is another hotel in an old building in the old part of town. We walked both ways to the trsin station but not the streets are mostly cobbles... call us both 70... but in reasonable "shape". Room is a little compact, with a remodled bath (in the last 5 years or so?). Tube shower combo. Towel rack is water heated so probably only works in winter. Again, the stellar comment is about the staff, very nice people. Breakfast was good, cereal, bread, sliced meat, cheese, eggs, fruit, GOOD Coffee, juice I woul happily stay here again. On the canel, 2 blks to the lake...
