Stayed 2 nights

We stayed in Room #1. The view was exceptional looking at the volcanos. It really wasn’t very noisy. In Pana there are a lot of dogs in the streets and they can be quite noisy. If you are looking for a five star hotel, this isn’t the place. But I would stay there again on our next trip to the lake. There is a little swimming pool but my wife and I didn’t use it. Bring your own washcloths as they are a rare commodity when traveling in central and South America.

Stayed 5 nights

Do not be fooled by the "tranquil" description or the photos of this property; it was a total bait and switch. We paid a premium for a lake-view room expecting a relaxing stay, but it was the opposite of hospitable. The noise levels are professional-grade and physically painful—live music and microphones blasted until 1:30 AM for four nights straight, vibrating the bed and rattling the windows so loudly that earplugs were useless. We actually had to miss our morning tours just to catch up on sleep. The "amenities" are equally misleading. The swimming pool is actually a small, dirty kiddie pool, the WiFi is non-functional (making it impossible to book transport or tours), and the hot water lasted less than a minute. To make matters worse, the room was freezing due to drafty windows and only a thin blanket provided. Most disappointing was the management. Despite my being a seasoned traveler and speaking the local language, I was treated with condescension and dismissed like a "clueless tourist." They repeatedly lied about noise ordinances and claimed the hotel was full when we could clearly see vacant, quieter rooms available. With no one at the front desk, we were forced to plea for help via WhatsApp to no avail. We eventually had to cut our 5-night stay short and spend hundreds more to find a livable hotel. This was a toxic experience that ruined our trip. Save your money and stay elsewhere.
