The property is gorgeous and the staff was remarkable and extremely service forward. There were a large variety of pools and restaurants to choose from, and all the food was good to excellent. We knew the property was remote, about a 40 minute ride from Puerta Vallarta, which meant taxi or uber rides to get anywhere ($20-30USD each way). The rooms were clean and comfortable and housekeeping was thorough, including a daily restock of the free mini bar in the room. but beware that there is construction on one side of the resort and we needed to change rooms when we arrived, that wasn’t the view we came for. We opted to attend a presentation for their vacation club bc we were given a VIP access to Secrets for doing so. Without that access the choices for restaurants and pools would have been very limited. Be aware that the beach at the property is very rocky, not great for beach walkers. But the waves are good for surfers and it was fun to watch them from many of the pools and restaurants. Cons were minor. Bath towels were scratchy, light switches in the room were in an odd and inconvenient spot, and music at almost all the pools tended to be loud and thumping nearly all day long making it difficult if you just wanted some peace and quiet and listen to the waves. One last thing, Amstar has staff onsite to book excursions but they don’t include shuttle to the meeting place so plan to add $40-50 USD for round trip transportation to the starting points.

Las instalaciones, el personal y la comida son las cosas espectaculares de este hotel, 9.5/10, el porque no obtiene un 10, es porque durante tu estadía si llevas auto, lo estacionan en un área donde todo el tiempo esta expuesto al sol y la interperie, recordar que punta de mita hay un sol candente, los pasillos que conectan las habitaciones cuando hay un carrito se servicio de limpieza, se vuelve muy angosto y en mi caso llevaba carreola, lo que hacia muy dificil las maniobras a la hora de transitar por el pasillo, todo lo demás es impecable, accesos a restaurants, alberca, playa, actividades en mar, bares y en especial el cafe Mita un atención increible

We were very impressed with this resort. The projection waterfall wall in the centre was amazing!! The food was delicious!! The pools were warm which was very nice. It was modern and the room was very nice as well. I liked the large main plaza. The architecture, design was impressive!! I would recommend this resort to anyone wanting to stay in Punta Mita.

This resort is beautiful and spacious. Nowhere seems crowded. Food is delicious. Several pools. Beach area is rocky but it's a nice area and kids had fun in water. There is a lot of walking so probably not suitable unless you are able to walk a lot. The restaurants, pools and beach are all in one area so if you had a room close it would solve that problem. The shows are 8:30 to 9:30 start times so late if you have small children. High quality shows.

The hotel has several areas that need improvement. The elevators near the restaurants do not have air conditioning, making them very hot and uncomfortable. Additionally, access to the breakfast area is limited to a single entrance without a ramp for strollers or wheelchairs, which is an accessibility issue. Overall, accessibility is poor for strollers or people with reduced mobility. During our stay, the buffet was closed for a private event, overcrowding the other restaurants and affecting the service. We were also surprised when the laundry service knocked on our door at 11 p.m., despite not having requested it. The wet floors are dangerous due to how slippery they are, both around the pool areas and in the bathroom floors of the rooms. Furthermore, the valet parking leaves vehicles outdoors, which is not ideal. In general, there are many aspects to improve in order to be considered a luxury hotel.

The number of elevators was lacking for the size of the resort. Also had to take 2 elevators to get to the 6th floor and higher. One to the fourth floor, than a bit of a hike to the next elevator to go up again. Took a couple of days to navigate without getting lost. This was a very big resort with so you do get your steps in. Staff was great, amenities were great too. Very rocky beach, water shoes recommended. Waves were very rough so not a place to wade in and snorkel. Pools were good, the kids' pool was great for the slides. Having another cafe on the 4th floor was a bonus. Beautiful resort overall.

I enjoyed overall my stay the beach is beautiful, the food was OK , however the alcohol was watered down we didn’t even taste the alcohol. I got sick second day of my stay due to the tap water that was mixed in the alcohol even though I had bottled water everywhere they didn’t notify us there was tap water mixed in the alcohol. Also we found a bug on our pillow after cleaning crew serviced our room. We threw the pillow on the floor without reporting to front desk and the next day same pillow was placed back on top of our bed when the room was serviced again. I would rate cleanliness as overal hotel 5/10.

This resort was beautiful. The architecture and the art work were amazing. The beach front was small and rocky which we didn’t enjoy and didn’t want to enter the ocean because of that. The food options were great. The problems we were having with the resort were the elevators weren’t working always. We had to walk quite far to have an elevator that was functioning. For some reason we weren’t getting our rooms cleaned every day even though we requested and did not have the “dnd” up. We also were called multiple times during the day and middle of the night by the front desk to check if we were ok? When I asked why they keep calling they didn’t have a reason. But the staff were super friendly, the rooms and pools were very clean and the food options and cafes were great! Thanks for the stay

Beautiful property! The lay-out is at times difficult to navigate. The property is HUGE. I can literally take 10-11 min to go from the back of the property on the 7the floor to the beach; needing to use 2 separate elevators or stairwells and a zig zag of corridors. It was overcast or raining 6/9 days of our PV trip. The water drainage/sitting puddles at the hotel is not great. There was water draining from the ceilings and down some of the walls. Staff did a good job keeping up and keeping everyone safe. We saw whales daily from the beach- was easier to see when overcast out. The wait staff were great! At the buffet MIXTLI was awesome, friendly, great service, felt like she really knew you and loved her job! The front staff, especially CANELO was very helpful and friendly.

Loved that you could watch dolphins and whales from the hotel beach! We had a “private” pool off our room and yet it was shared with the room next to us. I feel there should have been something separating them as anyone from that room could swim up to our patio and go right in our room. Didn’t make me feel very safe. Not enough elevators. Beer and drink options were different at every bar and restaurant we went to. Very small portions of food and drink

Excellent property. Staff were all so accommodating and welcoming. There is an app to use to order room service, book dinner reservations etc. which makes things super convenient. The food was pretty good! The beach was quite nice. Not a swimming beach but you are at a surf resort. You can walk fairly far to the south and the beach is all sand. If you book a junior suite like I did, note it surrounds the courtyard and there are evenings where there will be very loud music until rather late. So if you are early to bed, early to rise, this won’t be your ideal location. If I knew about that, I would absolutely have requested to upgrade before we settled in. On our last night the courtyard music ended around 10, then the live music in the secrets bar above went until 1:00am.

We stayed in a preferred Ambition Suite with panoramic views. The room was gorgeous and we loved the plunge pool on the balcony. The service we received from everybody on the property was next level and we enjoyed the food options. We had a couple excellent dinners at El Patio and really loved the food at Bahia Bites. We traveled with a toddler and felt that the property was really accommodating. She had an absolute blast and so did we.

We really enjoyed our stay. The resort layout was hard to navigate at times with elevators and Secrets vs Dreams areas. We quickly learned the tricks, but prepare for some walking, as the resort is spread out. The beach was rocky, so pack some water shoes. The service was great, all the staff was pleasant.

Upon arrival at the property we noticed that the room we chose( jungle view) was towards the construction site next door. It’s not a pretty site to see so we decided to upgrade to ocean view with access to secrets and their restaurants. A lot more enjoyable, view is towards the inside courts/ ocean. The upgrade was reasonable and we are glad we did it. The roof top pools are breathless and the restaurants have more options if you are traveling with adults only. Some of the restaurants are adults only so for families, it might not be worth it to upgrade. We loved our stay. Just didn’t realize there was construction next door property. See you next time.

There was construction being done only feet away from our rooms front door at an adjacent condominium building. Understandable if construction would run during the day while we were at the different amenities but the hours were ridiculous. We would hear construction noise all night and stopping around 3am. Other than this everything was great.

My husband and I are frequent travelers to Dreams and Secrets but we will absolutely never come back to this location. The staff was mostly great and very pleasant. We also really enjoyed the food and entertainment. However we had an issues with being duped into a timeshare presentation. After checking in the person who is supposed to escort us to our room turned out to be the timeshare rep so we had no choice but to deal with the haggle which we normally try to avoid. We were told it would only be 90mins of we agreed but they don’t tell you that the 90mins begin after you ahead spend an hour eating breakfast. You have to tell several reps no to the point that it feels like a complete disrespect of your time. On top of the fact that we paid for an upgraded room with a partial ocean view. Well we could definitely see the ocean but you have to look through the hideous view of the construction sight. They should’ve warned us and given us a discount.

I stayed at Dreams Bahia in Puerto Vallarta this past June for a friend’s wedding, and it was absolutely amazing! The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly for the wedding group everyone was so accommodating, friendly, and attentive. From the check-in process to the wedding events, the service truly made the experience unforgettable.The resort itself is beautiful, with plenty of dining options, fun activities, and relaxing spaces. It was the perfect setting for a destination wedding and a getaway. The only thing to note is that June was very hot and humid, so definitely be prepared for the heat if you go around that time , lots of water and shade helped. Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Everything was well taken care of, and the memories made here will last a lifetime. Highly recommend this resort for weddings, celebrations, or just a vacation

Great hotel. Very clean and staff are all hard working and kind. Special mention for Rose from Seaside Grill. The gym is very good and was busy every morning. Only downsides for me are that the location is quite secluded from anywhere and taxis are expensive. I think I will stay closer to Vallarta next time. Also, there seemed to be less areas for Dreams guests to relax with a drink compared to the big bar available for Secrets guests.

My family of 5 stayed at this resort for 3 nights in July 2025. Great hospitality started from Jesus and Ivan at reception and continued throughout our stay. There are 2 properties on this location: Secrets (adults) and Dreams (Family). Here are some suggestions: 1- If you are all adults (18+) stay on the Secrets side of the resort. You'd still have access to everything on Dreams but access to better restaurants. 2- Upgrade your stay to VIP (Preferred Member) level so that you get access to all restaurants and private lounges with better drinks. 3- If you are on the dreams side, please note that there's construction on the lot next door which might have some noises/smells associated with it. Otherwise, sit back, relax, and enjoy your stay.

This is an amazing and expansive resort with many activities for couples or families. The restaurant selections are wonderful and you do not have to make a reservation. We saw whales from the beach and swam in multiple pools. The water slides were an absolute riot! The staff was all very friendly and courteous and we will definitely go back.

This property is shared with a different resort that is adults only. All of the dining areas were very congested and there were not a lot of places to eat. You have to reserve your own private dining 24 hours in advance and by a certain time which was not convenient for us as we only stayed the weekend. I would not recommend this location to anyone staying less than a week, and even more so if you want peace and quiet.

Property is nice. However the all inclusive component is lacking. The drinks are weak and the selection is limited. We “upgraded” to the preferred club and it is not worth it. Only gets you access to one additional pool nothing else so not worth the extra costs. Food is ok but the same each day. And the times for restaurants are limited. Should be something available all day not only certain times. Other all inclusive resorts are better. Beach is rocky and not swimmable and right next to a public beach. They “downgraded” our room and stayed the reason is because we booked through Expedia and not with them. Disappointing. We left after two days and stayed at a different resort.
