Property is prestige, new, modern, luxurious. Beach is nice but not usaeabke due to seaweed. Major issue is cross selling by staff daily of the Blind Butcher restaurant. When on vacation after spending premium dollars it was very annoying. Could not walk anywhere without multiple stafff harassing on same topic, when we just want to relax. That needs to stoo.

The hotel is very nice and the customer service is second to none. The only reason I am not giving a five is because The Larimar Spa is a 1 star. It is beautiful, but they are obsessed with noise levels, even when you are at the pool. They follow you everywhere and they have rules for everything. You are basically being scolded like children all the time.

It was FANTASTIC! Food: The food scene is fantastic, so many options to choose from, and all are top-notch. From the Peruvian restaurant with fantastic ceviche to the Blind Butcher - that is just another level. The food and the experience are excellent; we only had a chance to go to the buffet (beautiful and over-the-top clean) once, and it was for breakfast. It was impressive. With so many options, it was hard to choose. The room service menu is also impressive, and its very tasty. Entertainment: The entertainment team makes sure that adults have things to do other than just the beach and pool. I loved looking at the schedule on my phone daily. The highlight was the bartending classes, we took 4 of them - they were fantastic, Marco and Ignacio are amazing. They made it fun and educational. Gama, Chael, and everyone else who was in charge of beach volleyball and ping pong were fantastic. Club pool bar: Roberto made the best coconut margaritas - just delicious. His service was great, and he looked happy to serve. After hours: One night, they had a MINDBLOWING candlelight concert on the lawn, with a rock duo, Dany and Junior - wow, they were fantastic. We wished they had played a few more nights. The martini bar was fantastic, delicious drinks - highly made martinis and great atmosphere. the GYM: Likely the BEST resort gym I've ever seen. It has it all, its big and with so much to do. The only sad part, is that we got no VIP benefits.

Great place. Great food. Great ambiance. Only issue was the seasonal seaweed at the beach. Ocean wasn’t very appealing but the pool made up for it. Had an excellent time. Try the blind butcher. Also loved the martini bar. They could use a new sushi chef.

Fantastic hotel; we chose a Front Ocean room and it was the best decision ever. The view was second to none. All the staff was great, and the hotel's installations were fantastic. The hotel has an incredible gym (better than many commercial gyms!) with tons of classes throughout the day too. All the restaurants were delicious, except for the Indian, which was not good at all. I'd suggest maybe swapping the Indian cuisine for a Mexican. It is a bit annoying that there is a restaurant (The blind butcher) not included in the stay. Considering the price of the rooms, it would be good to see free access to this restaurant once per stay. Having said that, we went and we loved it. The Peruvian restaurant was our favourite with delicious and fresh food all day. Cocktails in all the hotel bars were amazing; there are some seriously good mixologists in this hotel. However, my only negative comment will be entertainment: The hotel was boring, as there was very little organised and everyone seemed to go to bed at 10:30 pm. It needs to be noted that although Zilara is the Adults-only hotel, there are spaces (such as the sports bar) which are shared with the Ziva and kids are allowed. The spa was good, but it was overly expensive and we felt rushed during the hydrotherapy circuit. We also went to the waterpark which is part of the hotel, and it was so much fun! Go right when it opens so the number of kids is limited. This hotel is worth going once - only based on the food and installations

This property is BEAUTIFUL! You are treated well the entire stay! They dont hassle you for anything! I would recommend to couples or families. Or even solo travelers. Cant wait to stay again. Slight negative note: Pools and hot tubs close at 7, which is way to early. Regardless, cant wait until you are #1 in the Carribean!! Should be anyday now!!

The resort was great> If you are looking for quite relaxing vacation it is perfect. Food was the best for all inclusive resort. Rooms very clean and the grounds are very well maintained. I had high expectations that were just simply not met. Service was rather slow and deficient, specially at restaurants. The service in the pool area was good but not top quality. The pool itself was dirty with green mold, particularly by the wall where the DJ stands. I voiced my concern to a Staff member Bo was very understanding and offered to set up dinner for us. Noted that we were looking to eat lobsters. Made a reservation for us but the dinner was moved to the beach where it was mainly grill meat, no lobsters. On top of that some of the items being served ran out (bread being one of them). Food options at the buffet was rather basic. I was supposed to get a bottle of wine for each stay and a chef amenity tray, none were provided. Again, I had plenty of options to choose from but chose hotel for its alleged top quality but I did not receive that even though the hotel did not seem to be full. A check out I was told that someone would follow up with me, but have yet to be contacted.

The spa was amazing! We could have stayed there all day. Great beach and pool areas, and the staff was very welcoming and helpful. While there were a lot of options for food, we didn’t find the quality of food to be great. Our room also had a mildew smell to it and we had problems with the lock on our door the first day and had to call maintenance.

The Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana is an amazing resort! Everyone area from the main lobby to the hallways and even the gym was spotless! Also, the buffet restaurants were top notch, all food items were fresh, the presentation of all items was very appealing & all staff were very friendly & courteous. The pools, beach area & hot tubs were kept clean and there were always plenty of fresh/clean towels on the beach chairs.

We stayed here for our honeymoon in June 2025. We had a first floor room with swim out and we did use the VIP upgrade (no butler). We LOVED it!! The Hyatt Zilara offered so many great options for lounging or activities in the grounds between Zilara, Ziva, and the beach. We did not leave the property for snorkeling or anything, but we still were able to have a great, exciting week! Berenice and Francisca at the VIP pool, and Juan at the Sports bar were amazing with their customer service!!! All of the restaurants were fantastic! If you do choose to dine at the Blind Butcher, be prepared to eat!! All portions labeled for 2, actually serve 3-4 easily, so just keep that in mind. All in all, we loved the experience! The property was safe, gorgeous, and easy to get to because the airport and transportation are so easy to navigate. We are looking forward to coming back!!

The rooms were nice and for the most part the staff was friendly. The food was just so/so, not anywhere close to being 5 star.like I read in some of the other reviews. The staff was always trying to upsell you on something. There wasn't a lot of beach to walk as they have it segregated off by some of the close by resorts. Also, there is a private beach club property right next door that does events. It was so loud one evening until about 2 AM, the vibrations came right into the room. Finally, the water park was closed all but one day we were there and could not get straight answers from the staff. I just felt like they would tell you what you wanted to hear. I enjoyed my vacation but would definitely not go back at these prices.

I wanted to switch rooms, but my wife doesn't like to be a hassle and didn't want me to say anything. I think you moved other guest based on the smell of their rooms and were hoping to bring it up to us, but no one did, and she didn't want me to say anything. We kept our door open fan on full blast and air on and it didn't do much to the smell. We traveled home smelling like the room and felt really bad for the people on the plane around us. I had to leave my luggage and clothes in the garage last night because I didn't want to move the smell into the house. My wife agreed to a sales meeting because the men outside breakfast was really nice, and they told us it would pay them commission and she said she would do it on her birthday the last full day of our trip. We spent more than 3 hours with your sales team and i told them multiple times no. They kept brining different people in making more and more offers we weren't going to take. Finally, my wife had enough and told them no as well and they finally gave up the hard sell. I knew what the whole thing was and i tried to talk my wife out of this but she felt bad for your staff and his commission so we went. After we finally got out of the hard sell my wife apologized to me for the whole thing. I felt terribl

First, don’t EVER use Expedia to book any of your vacation plans. The Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana was outstanding, the service staff make this facility worth returning to, not to mention eateries and cleanliness. We LOVED everything about this resort minus the Club level check in experience/staff in club level and the room they assigned us in our "Ocean view" category that did not have a "ocean view" at all. I am an Expedia VIP and a Hyatt member and they were still rude to me. With that said, this resort is fantastic if you want calm open water, a really nice gym, great food, great service, lots of drinks brought to you beachside and a safe place to stay. Evening entertainment was lacking, the piano bar (very fun) would shut down at 11pm right on the dot just as everyone was just starting to loosen up. They desperately need a DJ or dance club for evening hours. All in all, a great stay.

The only thing i would like to see different was the check in process. I think it is intended to make you feel special and welcome - seating us, bringing a drink, one person comes over to welcome us, another comes over with paperwork, another comes over to make a copy of your passport or license or whatever and then another comes to bring you to your room. Instead of going to the desk and just checking in, it seemed like a real time suck. it didn't make us feel any more special or welcome and in fact at that point in the day after a long day of travel we really just wanted to check in and get to our room. It was probably an extra 20 minutes of sitting around

We spent several days at Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana, and we absolutely loved the experience from the very first moment. The property is stunning — beautifully maintained, relaxing, and elegant. We highly recommend the French restaurant and El Mercado, both offering delicious food and outstanding service. A special mention to Robert at the front desk and Alfredo at the restaurant, who went above and beyond to make our stay even more memorable. We would definitely come back again and again. Upon check-out, the staff asked for my credit to pay one charge. They prinetd my receipt, provided me with a "departure" piece of paper which is useless (why do I need this?!?) othe than to provide tips to the staff when they ask for the departure paper, and then they requested a bellman come over when I only had one bag which I could easily handle. They were so focused on these details, they forgot to give me my credit card back! This angered me when I arrived at the airport to attempted to pay for something and realized I did not have the card. I called the hotel and they asked if "I" could come back to get it?!? Really, you kept my credit card but now you're asking me to come get it?!!. They said that they didn't have anyone that could drive the card to me. This is not what I would call good customer service. I also tried to provide my Hyatt number to receive points for me stay and they said they couldn't take it then and that I should call later and talk to Hyatt. C.mon, really?!?

The property is great, the attention was excellent as well as the service. The food was amazing, great ambiance. I wish the beach was nicer but that’s out of their control. The transportation services are really expensive, I don’t agree with those charges.

Here’s a detailed and honest review, completely unpaid: Pros • The hotel is stunning and perfect for Instagram photos. • When I visited (late November), there was no seaweed. • The beach sand is very soft and firm. • most of the staff here were able to communicate in English quite well. • The pizza, the grill BBQ by the pool, and the Italian restaurant were all delicious. • If you’re on a short trip or not planning other activities, the water park inside the hotel is well-equipped and highly recommended. • Visiting in November, it wasn’t overly crowded, and the overall atmosphere was peaceful. • The hotel is just a 15-minute drive from the airport. Cons • Maintenance is lacking. For example, door handles, faucets, and toilet paper holders were rarely properly fixed—most were loose or crooked. • Food at the restaurants takes a very long time to arrive. We waited over 40 minutes for our meal. Club Member • The Club Member exclusive lounge for check-in had too many people waiting, and we had to wait about 40 minutes. • Better view. • Breakfast at Shutters Beachside, a restaurant exclusive to Club Members, was chaotic. There were too many people, too few staff, and the food took a long time to arrive. However, the ocean view was absolutely stunning. • Still, the price difference between regular rooms and Club Member rooms is small, so it doesn’t feel like a waste of money.

The property was stunning! We really enjoyed all the activities on property as well as the staff. Everyone was great! The gym was gorgeous and had great classes and instructors. This property was amazing. I would rate it 9/10 because the beach was horrible! I know it’s seaweed season but for it being a 5 star resort they should’ve been cleaning up the beach more often. The nightly entertainment was ehhh definitely needs more entertainment especially on the adults side. There should be some Dominican music at the pool it’s alil to quite & the music was horrible. Alfred the volleyball instructor was great! He made sure everyone was joining the activities he made the volleyball games fun he was very funny & made sure everyone was enjoying their time even after volleyball he would see us around & was just really cool & nice. Roberto from Las Mareas Cuisine Club Swim Up Bar was amazing!! He made the best drinks & was very attentive our whole stay! Bernice from Las Mareas was very nice she was always right there when you needed anything very attentive aswell! The food was amazing especially the Pier Buffet & the El Mercado Buffet. The guy that works in the night time at the Bongos club lounge was amazing our whole trip he already knew what drink my husband wanted once we walked in I forgot his name but he was great!! Housekeeping was great they cleaned twice a day always keeping the room cleaned witch we loved. We enjoyed our vacation & will be back soon!!

The only thing I didn’t like was an experience I had regarding a reservation for the Blind Butcher. No one told me that if you make a reservation for it you cannot cancel it, otherwise you will be charged with the money regardless. And by the way the fee is not a lower fee, you have to pay the whole amount which is $149 per person. Other than that the experience was exceptional!

A large group of us 20+ went to celebrate everyone’s birthdays. Could not have asked for a better week or better location. The resort exceeded our expectations! The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that you are happy and comfortable throughout your entire stay. The blind butcher and Hibachi were my two favorite restaurants. Already planning our next trip!!!

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Someone was always availableyo assit with whatever we needed. Our room was clean. The facilites were well kept. Very spacious and relaxing. Loved the open concept of the entire property. The beach was ok but due to the seaweed, I did not get in the water. Buffets had a good variety, except needed more vegan protein and desert options. Resort management should look into how to prepare i.e. tofu dishes or get a supplier for alternative vegan products, i.e. non-diary ice cream. The desert bar in general could use some work. Presentation was good but taste and texture were lacking. Overall would recommend.

Perfect 3 night getaway. Food was excellent except the steakhouse which was recommended by many, but the experience was underwhelming. The rest were excellent including drinks.

It was FANTASTIC! Food: The food scene is fantastic, so many options to choose from, and all are top-notch. From the Peruvian restaurant with fantastic ceviche to the Blind Butcher - that is just another level. The food and the experience are excellent; we only had a chance to go to the buffet (beautiful and over-the-top clean) once, and it was for breakfast. It was impressive. With so many options, it was hard to choose. The room service menu is also impressive, and its very tasty. Entertainment: The entertainment team makes sure that adults have things to do other than just the beach and pool. I loved looking at the schedule on my phone daily. The highlight was the bartending classes, we took 4 of them - they were fantastic, Marco and Ignacio are amazing. They made it fun and educational. Gama, Chael, and everyone else who was in charge of beach volleyball and ping pong were fantastic. Club pool bar: Roberto made the best coconut margaritas - just delicious. His service was great, and he looked happy to serve. After hours: One night, they had a MINDBLOWING candlelight concert on the lawn, with a rock duo, Dany and Junior - wow, they were fantastic. We wished they had played a few more nights. The martini bar was fantastic, delicious drinks - highly made martinis and great atmosphere. the GYM: Likely the BEST resort gym I've ever seen. It has it all, its big and with so much to do. The only sad part, is that we got no VIP benefits.

Great place. Great food. Great ambiance. Only issue was the seasonal seaweed at the beach. Ocean wasn’t very appealing but the pool made up for it. Had an excellent time. Try the blind butcher. Also loved the martini bar. They could use a new sushi chef.

The staff was incredible. Room service was great. The hotel had a very nice vibe, but to me, the highlight was the food. I’ve been to multiple resorts in Cancun and Punta Cana, and Hyatt Zilara by far has the best food.

The only thing was the buffet, everything is behind the windows & they don't let you serve so you must wait a while to get your food.

Hotel not worth the money. Food was just ok and service regular. Prefer to go to a normal hotel and pay for my food and get good food. If your are a foodie do not try this hotel.
