O quarto do Barceló Bávaro Grand Resort apresentou problemas de manutenção: a jacuzzi estava quebrada e vazando água, e a luz da varanda não tinha lâmpadas funcionando. O espaço era amplo e confortável, porém a reposição de itens deixou a desejar. No primeiro dia havia quatro toalhas e panos de chão, mas com o passar da estadia não foram repostos; nos últimos dias precisei usar uma toalha de rosto no chão. A limpeza diária do piso era feita, mas o frigobar não foi reabastecido em nenhum momento. A estrutura de lazer é excelente: piscinas ótimas, spa bonito e quente (embora sempre cheio), academia completa e bons shows. Nos restaurantes, La Brisa, México Lindo, Dolce Vita e Santa Fé tiveram ótima qualidade e atendimento. Já no Kyoto a experiência foi ruim: chegamos às 22:25 e só fomos atendidos por volta das 23:10. Após isso os pratos saíram rápido, mas vimos mesas que chegaram depois sendo servidas antes, o que gerou frustração. No geral, o hotel tem estrutura incrível, porém o serviço é mediano. A sensação é de que a gorjeta vem antes do bom atendimento, e não o contrário.

Property is huge, beautiful, and clean. The pool is also huge. People are friendly and attentive. The food was decent, I enjoyed the buffet the most, good options. Sports bar open 24 hours is a plus for those late night munchies. There’s a lot of walking depending where your room is. There’s Trolly service for your convenience. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would go back and stay there again.

Barcy club was the best of all the amenities, as a family hotel having little ones around is a common thing, but for the living parents can be a bit overwhelming, at Barcy club the staff knows how important is for the parents to have some time off the little ones and they really make the kids enjoy. My son loved them, he wanted to be there all the time, I had to drag him out for lunch or dinner, he had a blast, the ladies were so great, the activities were awesome pinta caritas, horse ride, pirate party, The rest of the hotel was great, good food and a large selection of drinks with and without alcohol. Goid music, casino nights, staff very friendly. My family had a great time and we are planning to come back

Cleaning OK, but the bed were not made properly . I honestly believe it would be better if there were to have services on the pool side as well as the beach you have to walk to the bar to get whatever you want to drink and eat. There’s no service within those areas. There no room service as well.

Fantastisk sted med nydelig strand og flott bassengområde. Mye å finne på med både aktiviteter, pool party, escape room osv. Bestilte arrangerte turer fra hotellet til øya Saona og Monkeyland, begge turene var absolutt verdt pengene. Mange ulike restauranter med helt ok mat, noen steder bedre enn andre, men ikke et sted å reise til for en kulinarisk opplevelse.

The room was very clean, had great amenities. I mean anything that you can think of is there. Several pools check...beautiful beach front check, plenty of places to shop check. Golf course check. Casino check. They even have a waterpark for the kids and show every evening! Its all inclusive with plenty of food options and the drinks were great! Oh and i cant forget about the wonderful massage i got at the spa! Lastly the staff were great! would recommend this place to anyone and have already shared my experiences with friends and family. I will be coming back@

We had a great stay at Barcelo Bavaro. It is very family friendly and I loved how the room had a separate bedroom for our daughter and for us. It was also great that they brought up a crib for her. It is a very large property and a little confusing at times. My daughter loved all of the kids' pools and even the larger pools. The trains that take you around were a nice touch too. The spa was also lovely. It is a great property for families but difficult with the size and location of everything if you are unable to walk a ton. Some downsides - It was rough walking up 3 flights of stairs at 7 months pregnant as there are no elevators in the family units. The food was just okay. It was sometimes difficult to get reservations for dinner. There were very few employees who spoke English and you truly need to know Spanish to get around. Otherwise, the staff was friendly and some more helpful than others. The other downside was that the buffet for lunch did not open until 1230pm which cut into our daughter's nap time. There were also a few times that staff (housekeeping) walked right into our room if our door wasn't locked which was very shocking. Overall, it was a good experience and I would recommend this resort. It needs some work to get to 5 stars but we did have a great vacation.

O buffet era repleto de comida mas com qualidade ruim. O cheiro do restaurante era ruim. Almoço e jantar no buffet eram ruins de sabor. O restaurante Japonês, o Steak House e o Mexicano foram bons. Ficamos mais de 2 horas pra fazer check in. O show de teatro com uma única opção de horário (às 22h) não nos agradou. Precisava ter horário mais cedo, por exemplo, como segunda opção. A piscina do bar estava com a água imunda e muuuuuitos azulejos soltando. Não voltaria não.

99% of the staff was downright rude, inattentive, and seemed annoyed anytime you needed something. Our room was dated, the paint job terrible, dusty on the furniture, closets, shelves and counters. The bathroom had black hairs in the shower upon checkin, the towels were threadbare and ripping, and it smelt like sewer. There was mold growing on the vents, and it was loud outside of our room. The property itself was beautiful but the cleanliness was not up to par. Garbage was just thrown around the pool area, beach and walkways and would be there for days. The food was AWFUL. Poor quality and poor taste. The pool area was loud and not relaxing. They allowed people to go in with their clothes in large party groups with individual speakers blasting their music. You could have multiple groups all with different speakers blasting different music in one space. The pool and beach towels were so thin, stained and tearing. You were also only allowed one. The ground smelt like sewage, so did many of the restaurants. At one point the entire resort lost water so there were no working toilets or sinks. They got them working at the main pool area, but our room took the entire day before we had working facilities. When we complained we had to complete and survey and then they offered us $150 to give them a 5 star review, which we declined. Just terrible.

O quarto era muito mal cuidado, lençol sujo, banheiro fedia, o chão do banheiro tinha cheiro de urina, cheirava a banheiro publico. Tive problema no meu quarto, o chão ficava todo molhado, além de ser fedido. Então pedi pra mudar de quarto e o outro só não ficava molhado o chão mas também fedia. Os travesseiros e o colchão exalavam um cheiro forte de suor antigo. Foi horrível não via a hora de voltar para casa. A comida também era ruim e as bebidas de péssima qualidade. Percebi que isso causa um grande desperdício pois as pessoas pegam várias bebidas e deixam de lado pois não conseguem beber. Mas acho que o fator que mais me decepcionou foi o mau atendimento por parte dos funcionários. Todos de cara amarrada, faziam o trabalho com pesar e não eram nada amigáveis. Apesar da praia ser linda e a área das piscinas muito bonitas eu não voltaria nesse hotel.

Hotel apresenta ótima infraestrutura externa, no quarto foi razoável, sistema de esgoto entupindo, no entanto deixa a desejar muito no requisito limpeza, quarto com cabelos nos boxes e piso sujo, sem contar que tivemos visitas indesejadas no quarto, apareceu uma barata, solicitamos providências que não foram tomadas.

Los alrededores de la piscina no están limpios,la playa está descuidada ,buffet demasiadas personas no hay mucha variedad ni comida saludable la comida en las linia caliente no tenían temperatura,no usan guantes no hay personal mirando lo que hacen los clientes y los clientes tocan los alimentos con las manos,el check in y check out es lento se demoran demasiado,los vasos que usan en la piscina no son desechables son plásticos y reusables ,es mi cuarta vez en Punta cana y fue la experiencia más pobre,de lo que era a lo que es a bajado la calidad ,las habitaciones tuve que llamar porque no me dejaron las toallas algo que no me gustó entran a la habitación dos veces me paso yo durmiendo y entraron

One of the reserved restaurants had a cockroach walking on the food, and also one on the floor near that bar. Next reservation restaurant, had red lipstick on a glass that the waitress poured water into. New York was the worst piece of meat we ever received, and did not eat it. Cancelled the rest of restaurant reservations, reluctantly only used the buffet. This was a very disappointing dining experience and it is upsetting that the only ramification from the manager of the resort was to offer us another restaurant. Plus, when we declined another restaurant, the manager did not follow up in another way. In addition, the room which we stayed in, had a stain on the couch ( I would not sit on that couch), the ventilation system was very dusty, daily we had to spray the room with deodorizer so the room would not smell and the shower/toilet room needed a deep cleaning. Would not recommend the resort and will not ever go back.

I liked the resort because it had amazing pools and easy access to the beach. You were able to walk to the restaurants, casino, pool and beach. The room we stayed in was the junior suite with a jacuzzi but the jacuzzi was dirty and the shade we had for privacy was not working, therefore we didn't use it.

Pool closes at 7pm, toilets dont flush, rooms are hot and full of mosquitos. Food at restaurants was always cold. Staff was amazing tho.

The room was clean, but the furniture did look a little old worn out. I don’t like how the bathroom is set up, but that’s my preference. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Pool area was very nice. Does get congested because there’s so many people, but it is very nice. Food was not very good. Our light on the balcony was out the entire time we were there for four nights. We did ask to have a replace, but it never got done. We also had some bugs that came the last night that we were there. They came early in the morning and spray to try to kill them. I hope it worked.

Barceló Bávaro Palace – Mixed Experience The resort itself is stunning, very clean, and huge with plenty of activities. The train around the property is a nice touch. However, the family buffet food was very disappointing—we ended up eating at the sports bar most of the time. I paid extra for a junior suite with a hot tub, but the Wi-Fi didn’t work. After wasting two days with the front desk and technicians, I was moved to a smaller regular room with no refund. The second room was clean, but the thermostat didn’t function properly. Check in was quick. While checking in, we requested to stay in bldg 4. After being given the envelope with towel cards (which was ready for us when we arrived) the young lady showed us on the property map where we had been scheduled to stay. It was far from the beach, in the golf area. We had not requested the golf package. The sticker on the envelope had our room number indicating bldg 4. Not sure why she would say they had us in the golf area when clearly we had been booked for bldg 4. Room was clean and orderly. Housekeeping did great job! Steamer (for clothing) wasn't working. Notified concierge and an iron was brought to our room. Unfortunately, no ironing board was provided. Did not care for the tub/shower combination. Tub was deep and awkward to get in/out. In the past we have had shower only. Concierge staff was very helpful with dinner reservations. When they found out it was my husband's birthday a cake was sent to our room. Delicious! Did not use the spa during this visit. Nightly shows were great! We have been staying at this resort for years and will return again.

Tivemos uma experiência decepcionante. Qd chegamos, havia várias filas e ao perguntarmos qual delas seria a de check-in, o funcionário apontou uma das filas, na qual ficamos. Ficamos mais 40 minutos na outra fila para o check-in. Fomos informados de q havia sido feito um upgrade na nossa hospedagem, porém, depois descobrimos q tivemos nossa acomodação mudada por estarmos com uma criança, a qual foi informada na reserva. Por isso, fomos alocados para a área familiar, sendo q havíamos reservado uma suíte júnior. Além de ser extremamente distante da parte central do resort, onde ficam as piscinas, os restaurantes e a recepção, o quarto ficava em frente a um lago, q tinha um cheiro muito forte de urina e tb atraía muitos bichos, como baratas, lagartixas, sapos e moscas. Minha esposa é extremamente aversa a esse tipo de bichos e, por isso, a noite não saía do quarto. Solicitamos a mudança do quarto, mas nada fizeram, pois diziam q o hotel estava cheio. No primeiro dia havia quatro toalhas e panos de chão, mas com o passar da estadia não foram repostos; nos últimos dias precisei usar uma toalha de rosto no chão. Precisa melhorar muita coisa, falta reposição nos restaurantes, o atendimento nos restaurantes temáticos são muito ruins, é impossível conseguir uma cadeira na piscina, não existe controle algum por conta do hotel e a maioria dos funcionários parecerem estar odiando trabalhar ali, são muito mal humorados e nos quartos não existe limpeza são muito sujos. Check in was very slow even though it didn't look too busy. There are many pools and the beach had a lot of seaweed. We weren't able to reallg enjoy that. The staff and service was unpleasant as staff didn't seem to want to answer questions, make drinks at bars, or provide service at the buffets. Most times we asked for something it was meant with a below average attitude. There was a male staff member that followed us one night and insisted on coming to our room (one of the girls was flirtacious) but it made me uncomfortable that i had to say no many times. Food was mediocre. It was nearly imposible to book any dinners at the restaurants because they were booked 4 or more days out and we weren't there that long. Overall, would not recommend or come again. Casino was fun and the disco was pleasantly a good time.

Most of the hotel staff were very nice and helpful especially the personal butler Pedro. However, the restaurants lack professional service etiquette with exception of Kyoto and Comedie. I believe it’s because we had the all inclusive premium level status so gratuities are included. I’m a big tipper having been in the restaurant industry for over 30 years. It’s not that difficult to make a guest feel comfortable with a smile and some respectable attention. Upon check out, the receptionist Heidy was very rude. I recommend staying here mainly because it’s worth the money for all you get. The food was excellent and Pedro and the housekeepers were remarkable.

This was by far the most amazing vacation I have ever been. The staff was unbelievably friendly and accommodating, the food was outstanding. The hotel is beautiful and clean. I’ll concierge was Jesus and he took care of us so well. They went above and beyond for us and we have already booked our next vacation to come here. I would never stay anywhere else.

Fizemos uma viagem de férias em casal e gostamos bastante da experiência. Fomos muito bem recepcionados pela Luz Pozo, ela nos ajudou com as reservas dos restaurantes para os jantares, e além disso foi muito prestativa para me ajudar a organizar uma surpresa de aniversário para a minha namorada. A estrutura do resort é muito boa, praia linda, piscinas grandes com muita área para espreguiçadeira. Os restaurantes a la carte possuem uma qualidade maior que os buffets, por isso recomendamos que busquem suas reservas para os jantares. As bebidas são boas, disponíveis todo o tempo em vários bares espalhados pelo resort. A discoteca é boa, não muito cheia e possui um atendimento de bar até melhor que os da piscina.

The property is beautiful, and has spacious pools. It is clean with lots of food options. My family and I enjoyed our stay. The property is big so be prepared to walk or wait for the shuttle. I went during seaweed season so the beach had many seaweed, although the staff did work very hard in cleaning it up. We spent our time at the pool instead. The staff are also friendly. We had no complaints about our stay. We will be returning in the future.

The pools and grounds of this property are absolutely stunning. They were kept clean and in good shape. The beach would have been nice, except for extensive seaweed, which is not the fault of the hotel but still affects your experience. The air smelled like either the sewage or seaweed on many days which was kind of gross, but again, not the fault of the hotel. The food was really terrible across the board, and I'm not picky. Service people were friendly but extraordinarily slow and also couldn't understand English nearly at all which makes things difficult. Between the awful food and poor service day after day I could not really recommend this hotel. I do commend the property itself and all it has to offer as well as the good, clean condition everything was in. The rooms were also spacious and nice.

Property is huge, beautiful, and clean. The pool is also huge. People are friendly and attentive. The food was decent, I enjoyed the buffet the most, good options. Sports bar open 24 hours is a plus for those late night munchies. There’s a lot of walking depending where your room is. There’s Trolly service for your convenience. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would go back and stay there again.

Fantastisk sted med nydelig strand og flott bassengområde. Mye å finne på med både aktiviteter, pool party, escape room osv. Bestilte arrangerte turer fra hotellet til øya Saona og Monkeyland, begge turene var absolutt verdt pengene. Mange ulike restauranter med helt ok mat, noen steder bedre enn andre, men ikke et sted å reise til for en kulinarisk opplevelse.

The room was very clean, had great amenities. I mean anything that you can think of is there. Several pools check...beautiful beach front check, plenty of places to shop check. Golf course check. Casino check. They even have a waterpark for the kids and show every evening! Its all inclusive with plenty of food options and the drinks were great! Oh and i cant forget about the wonderful massage i got at the spa! Lastly the staff were great! would recommend this place to anyone and have already shared my experiences with friends and family. I will be coming back@

We had a great stay at Barcelo Bavaro. It is very family friendly and I loved how the room had a separate bedroom for our daughter and for us. It was also great that they brought up a crib for her. It is a very large property and a little confusing at times. My daughter loved all of the kids' pools and even the larger pools. The trains that take you around were a nice touch too. The spa was also lovely. It is a great property for families but difficult with the size and location of everything if you are unable to walk a ton. Some downsides - It was rough walking up 3 flights of stairs at 7 months pregnant as there are no elevators in the family units. The food was just okay. It was sometimes difficult to get reservations for dinner. There were very few employees who spoke English and you truly need to know Spanish to get around. Otherwise, the staff was friendly and some more helpful than others. The other downside was that the buffet for lunch did not open until 1230pm which cut into our daughter's nap time. There were also a few times that staff (housekeeping) walked right into our room if our door wasn't locked which was very shocking. Overall, it was a good experience and I would recommend this resort. It needs some work to get to 5 stars but we did have a great vacation.

The hotel is beautiful, but too big. Our room was extremely far from the main lobby and the walk way was very dark. The food was average, at best. Always cold even in the speciality restaurants. The place is gorgeous, they spent tons of money on the decor but thr food was just ok. If you're into massive resorts, then this is the one for you. Again the resort is absolutely beautiful, but the food and drinks were just average.

O quarto do Barceló Bávaro Grand Resort apresentou problemas de manutenção: a jacuzzi estava quebrada e vazando água, e a luz da varanda não tinha lâmpadas funcionando. O espaço era amplo e confortável, porém a reposição de itens deixou a desejar. No primeiro dia havia quatro toalhas e panos de chão, mas com o passar da estadia não foram repostos; nos últimos dias precisei usar uma toalha de rosto no chão. A limpeza diária do piso era feita, mas o frigobar não foi reabastecido em nenhum momento. A estrutura de lazer é excelente: piscinas ótimas, spa bonito e quente (embora sempre cheio), academia completa e bons shows. Nos restaurantes, La Brisa, México Lindo, Dolce Vita e Santa Fé tiveram ótima qualidade e atendimento. Já no Kyoto a experiência foi ruim: chegamos às 22:25 e só fomos atendidos por volta das 23:10. The room was in good condition and clean, the food all around was mediocre, the live shows were very nice and extremely entertaining and there is truly not a boring moment. Good staff and good spa, only disappointing aspect truly were the restaurants, nothing to write home about. Overall 3.5 out of 5. Good for the price.

I did not like the Casino with the pole dancer, completely out of place, she did not danced the pole at all. Should be located at the disco. I did not like the menu at the sea restaurant and most of the plates we requested were no good at all. The rest of the resort was good. Pool bar was too small for so many people. I suggest that were towels and bingo is played, should be for pizza, grill hamburgers, hot dogs and fries

Desde que llegamos teníamos deseos de regresarnos a nuestro hogar. El proceso para el check in muy demorado. La habitación se supone que nos la entregaran a las 3:15 y casi nos la entregaron a las 4:30. Si saben que es una semana de mucho flujo de personas deberían prepararse con más personal para el proceso de check in.La comida en los buffets siempre estaba fría, el sabor no era el mejor, el olor al entrar era un poco desagradable. Moscas alrededor de la comida. El personal en el area de los buffets se veía agotado y no muy servicial, no eran atentos(no todos). Por el contrario, de todos los restaurantes a la carta que visitamos, la atención y la comida del Dolce Vita fue espectacular. Del 1 al 5 le damos 5. Muchas gracias a su gerente Cristian Valenzuela por su amabilidad. La habitación estuvo bien, aunque el área de la ducha no tenía nada de privacidad, pues no tienen puertas y estábamos con nuestra hija. A lo que mi esposo se duchaba ella tenía que salirse a la terraza. Las habitaciones tienen jacuzzi y aunque no funcionaba del todo lo pudimos utilizar. El teléfono de la habitación no funcionaba, se reporto en tres ocasiones y nadie fue a verificarlo.El sábado salimos para hacer un excursión y cuando llegamos no habían limpiado la habitación y no habían rellenado el minibar. Mi esposo tuvo que reportarlo para que fueran a hacerlo. A pesar de ser un todo incluido el room service no era incluido como en los otros hoteles que nos hemos quedado en Punta Cana y México.

The property is beautiful BUT the buffet food was not good, flies around, reservations for dinner must be done or you get nasty attitudes from hostess especially at Kyoto. Additionally don’t get sick because they send you on the ambulance to a private clinic not a hospital and charge almost 2,000 without medications. Your chance of stomach virus is very high too.

O buffet era repleto de comida mas com qualidade ruim. O cheiro do restaurante era ruim. Almoço e jantar no buffet eram ruins de sabor. O restaurante Japonês, o Steak House e o Mexicano foram bons. Ficamos mais de 2 horas pra fazer check in. O show de teatro com uma única opção de horário (às 22h) não nos agradou. Precisava ter horário mais cedo, por exemplo, como segunda opção. A piscina do bar estava com a água imunda e muuuuuitos azulejos soltando. Não voltaria não.

The resort itself is beautiful but the beach is completely unusable. It is taken over by sargassum and the entire property smells like sewer. There’s nowhere to escape the smell. The beach is absolutely disgusting. We checked out the next morning and transferred to the other side of the island

We had a great stay at Barceló Bávaro Palace and I want to especially speak to English-speaking travelers from the U.S. Before our trip, I saw many reviews saying the language barrier was terrible, but that was not our experience. We stayed Premium Level, so I want to be fair because that may have made a difference. I know basic Spanish from growing up around Spanish speakers in NYC, but I’m not fluent. Still, about 80-85% of the employees we dealt with understood English, even if some only spoke a little. Knowing basic phrases helps, and Google Translate is always an option. The resort was beautiful and extremely clean. We visited during sargassum season, so there was a lot of seaweed on the beach, but crews were constantly cleaning it morning and night. Our upgraded oceanfront room was beautiful, housekeeping came daily, and trays were picked up consistently. The resort is large, but we could walk everywhere, and there’s a train that circles the property if you don’t want to walk. The biggest weakness was the food. We tried the specialty restaurants, and overall the food was mediocre and didn’t meet the standard we expected coming from the U.S. However, the service was impeccable and made up for a lot. The casino is small and tipping is part of the culture throughout the resort, so bring small bills. Overall, we had an amazing time. Premium Level was worth it for us, the staff treated us well, and I would absolutely return. Don’t let every negative review scare you away.

The grounds and view from room were spectacular! The food quality was satisfactory. Overall, the staff were pleasant and welcoming, but service, like daily room cleaning or info on resort activities, was a hit or miss. The most disappointing thing was the junior suite room. The shower nor the separate room for the toilet had real doors! If you’re rooming with a family member or friend, this is not ideal. And on the last night, the ceiling started dripping water and there was no follow-up after I reported it. I ended up putting a bucket under the leak and emptying it out before I went to bed to ensure the floor didn’t get too wet and cause a safety hazard.
