The Glendower Hotel

Love this hotel. We study every few weeks for a 1 night stay. Very friendly staff and will do their best to accommodate you if you have any special requests. I asked for a later check out and they were able to provide this. Hotel is lovely and clean. Can always get a parking space in there hotel carpark. They also let u use next door school carpark as an overflow. Breakfast is very nice as well

Excellent location, the kids love playing in the sand dunes opposite and a short walk to St Annes pier. Superb breakfast and great service from all staff. Spacious and comfy rooms. We had plenty of parking, even when the car park was full, there was road side parking available. This is our second time visiting. A short drive in to Blackpool

Stayed as a family of 4 and one dog. Were apprehensive as first time travelling with 8 month old dog, but were so welcomed at the hotel. Everyone we came into contact with at the hotel were so nice and made it a great few days. Really liked the family room, enjoyable by everyone.

It was not the best hotel I ever stayed in St Annes, the expedition just to reach our room , up and down so many small stairscase, with my bad knees was quite horrendous. The lift was old closed the outerdoor and the metal shutter came across and then set off to be honest I never seen a lift like it but it did the job so cant complain too much . The food was lovely and the staff were wonderful, checking that everything was just right, right from the check in receptionist to waiter excellent service. As I said not the best hotel I've stayed in, but far from the worst.

Check in was easy, the staff were friendly and the effort they made to make the reception and dining areas festive was appreciated. The room was clean, with everything you’d expect and a great sea view. Perfectly located with St Anns on your doorstep and everything you’d need within walking distance.

Exceptional hotel. Very clean pet friendly home from home. Great and attentive staff. Breakfast very good value.

Fantastic large room with a great sea view, huge comfy bed and good shower. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really nice and the bar man made us some really good cocktails in the evening. On site parking was limited, but we expected that and there is plenty of seafront parking just a few yards in front of the hotel.

Thanks to the staff for providing a great stay. Lovely meal to suit different palates first night, good choice of freshly cooked to order breakfast. The hotel can be a bit of a maze, the rooms were warm and clean, ample parking, £2 bus to Blackpool available just round the corner, station 10 minutes walk if you want to leave the car for a few days, beach just over the road, pier 5 minutes walk, what more could you want

Too many stairs

Not enough lifts/elevators in this relatively large hotel. Food excellent, staff very pleasant and helpful.

Great location, super clean, lovely big room with an excellent breakfast. What’s not to love.

Lovely hotel at a reasonable price. Family room was immaculate and so spacious. More like an apartment room. And really quiet. Bathroom spotless, the only negative was the water from the shower overflowed onto the floor, making it a bit of a hazard. Ideally situated to get to the beach across the toad and right around the corner from st Ann’s shops The only thing it’s missing is a pool and it would be perfect Would definitely stay again

Stayed in one of the dog friendly rooms. Greeted by a very strong smell of bleach in the room, as the day/ eve worn on the reason became clear- the room had a horrendous dirty dog smell. The room clearly needs a deep clean including the carpets. Not a nice experience and not one I would repeat.

Property needs updating, carpets & curtains & wallpaper /furnishings very old. Musty smell in the property plus smokers right outside front door with cigarette smoke coming in through open door & could even smell it upstairs. Comfortable bed, basic bathroom. Very basic accommodation for £130 per night. Good hot breakfast.

Gorgeous suite, very clean and spacious with everything we needed and more, really lovely balance of traditional features and modern design. Brilliant view of beach. Very friendly staff throughout who were great with our child. Very nice lounge area and restaurant with lovely food for breakfast and dinner. Can't really fault anything.

Very aged decor, but with excellent standards of hygiene. Breakfast was good. Staff were helpful and polite.

I arrived and couldn’t stay due to the room smelling really bad of dog odour. The hallways on the corridors to the room smelt very bad of dog pee . I love animals but if they have to stay at the hotel the cleanliness should be exceptional just like it would be in our own homes. The manager tried his best to sort me out with another room but fully booked . He gave me a full refund and I left to find another hotel.

We were upgraded due to building work- a super room with wonderful sea views - comfortable bed, quality linens

The mattress in our room was awful. Could feel the strings and extremely hard. Didn’t sleep well at all

We stayed in the Ribble View Suite and it was absolutely beautiful, the rooms were spacious with lots of lovely extras. We loved the cosy dressing gowns and the coffee machine. The bed was huge and so comfy we slept really well. The view from the balcony was amazing looking out onto the sea. My only criticism if I had to make one was the patio doors in the room were very dirty and ruined the view such a small thing but would have made a big difference. In all we absolutely loved our stay the location was so quiet but literally 5 minutes away from Blackpool which really suited us, best of both worlds, would love to come back

Check in was good. We were given a family room where we would walk through the restaurant and upstairs. On a daily basis from around 6am we would hear doors opening and closing, people walking around. The hotel did not have air conditioning and we opened the window but again we would get the noise from the surrounding area. We asked each day (3 night stay) if an alternative room/rooms were available but unfortunately not. Location is good, close to beach and town.

The staff were amazing; the room and view were outstanding and the location was perfect! However, I had to boil the kettle 6 times in order to have a hot bath as there was no hot water! Even the shower with the temperature upped (as explained clearly on the wall) was tepid and the shower had no pressure at all 👎 In the morning, the hot water tap was blisteringly hot on the sink, so not sure if this has something to do with their thermostat being aligned incorrectly to the guests. The room was also rather expensive; we have to admit we thought the price was with full breakfast each, but that was to be added at £14.50 each! I appreciate that we were there for the festival and the rates may have been hiked to accommodate the festival goers, and would this room be half the price we paid for it next time, we would likely stay again, especially as they’re dog friendly too 😊

Superior sea view room was excellent,bath in room amazing, huge bay window and seating area , the view was spectacular. We had dinner and breakfast both of which were first class , excellent service from reception desk to dining , will definitely stay here again

The room was too hot, couldnt open the window to get some air, the hairdryer was nowhere near a mirror, turned down the radiator but didnt cool off, no mirror near the hairdryer, but The bathroom was very nice and the room was very clean.

Room was tidy, but bed small and enamel peeling off bath. Awful view onto a flat roof. Public areas were nice. I didn't feel it was value for money.

The location was pleasant. The rest was extremely disappointing and in some areas abysmal. The carpets were filthy and not vacuumed. Surfaces in public areas were dusty and dirty and a major talking point of guests we spoke with. Receptionist Sarah refused to help us with taxi into Lytham and told us we were ‘asking the wrong person’! We were not surprised by small room as we were only staying briefly as a surprise from my partner but the view was disgusting onto a flat roof littered with tools and mess. Breakfast was a fiasco. One young man was trying his best to serve but a young black lady was exceptionally rude to us when we simply asked for milk which had not been provided. One disabled lady was very badly treated and her elderly husband was given no help by staff trying to seat her and manoeuvre her wheelchair and move other chairs. The scrambled egg when it eventually arrived was literally cold , not even warm. My bacon was like hard old leather. Complaints from all quarters of dining room about waiting times Truly awful. Receptionist (a nice lady this time) offered to refund our breakfast payment without us even asking which was fair but in all honesty we were glad to leave the place. Grim. Stayed with Best Western in Uk Europe and States and always been a safe bet but not this time. My email to manageress has not even been acknowledged.

The room was very comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed over the weekend and there was a wedding on both the Friday and Saturday but there was no problem with the noise. But on the Saturday the staff were under pressure and when we went to the bar to get a drink after dinner we were told we would have to wait as he was busy doing something else, when 15 minutes had passed we went back to the bar, ordered some drinks and an Irish coffee when it finally arrived it was cold, when we mentioned it we were told it was because the cream was cold so that was disappointing. But would certainly recommend the hotel and stay here again.

One of the most awful stays ive had at hotel within an hour of getting to bed for an early night we had loud music from a wedding down stairs we had couples fighting on our landing and dog biscuits stuck to our feet called reception about the fighting but nothing happened then i heard a women crying thinking she maybe being assaulted had to intervene myself. Absoloutely ruined my wife birthday weekend and the staff did not care. Wont be back.

I can highly recommend the Glendower Hotel. My husband & I stayed there for two nights in a lovely sea view room, which was spacious, clean, & had a comfy bed. The hotel itself is clean with all the amenities. The restaurant has a nice ambience. The food was a little expensive but very good. I can't fault any of the staff as they were all friendly, polite, & helpful. Would definitely stay there again.

Friendly staff, great location, delicious breakfast.

It was a bit mixed. Firstly we were waiting ages to be greeted and checked in. I had even done online check in but there was no one there for 10 mins. The room looked lovely but the toilet hissed all night as it was filling up really really slow after a flush. The shower looked amazing but the tiniest shower head. Just looked odd. Then in the morning. The worse part was having a nice suit only to get all the delivery noise at 7am. Tricks, barrels and other things right under your window. Delivery people shouting. Just a bit off putting on what could have been a very nice experience.

Reception staff were rude, our room was tired and worn and needed a refurb definitely not worth the £150 paid for that room.

Nice place, seafront, reasonable enough prices, decent room

Had a lovely one night stay, right on the sea front, free parking, short walk into the town, we walked to train station for a 7 minute ride into Lytham. We had the family room, large double bed, with a smaller room containing two single beds, good tea tray, plenty of towels and clean, a bit of talc needed in the rooms but nothing to spoil our stay. Breakfast was waiter served,good breakfast choices, the only niggle, I had, and it was only a small thing, was the hot breakfast was brought out before we had finished our cereal/yoghurt, so I put mine aside to eat my cooked breakfast before it went cold, then finished my yoghurt/granola, the staff were wonderful, we will definitely go back again soon.

Nice rooms at decent prices. Just a few mins walk from shops, restaurants and pub.

We had a lovely time at this hotel, just over the road was the beach and our room had fantastic views from the window. Easily walkable into town with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Very nice hotel and lovely sea view room. While there were a lot of cars on the car park and coming and going, it was strangely quiet in the evenings in the bar and dining room. The food was very good though we were choosing from the same dinner menu every night - perhaps they could change it more often. Nice and clean.

Had a lovely weekend break. We had a signature room with sea view, which really nice. We ate in the restaurant both evenings, not something we would normally do food and service excellent. Breakfast was good and service again excellent. Overall very pleased with this hotel stay

The 'front of house' of the hotel was nice and the staff were attentive and helpful. The room while small, was OK, mattress was a bit strange, like it had wooden boards on it. The shower was woeful, like a cat hissing at you. Only ate in the brasserie, one evening, food was nice, but the service was poor.
