I didn’t like the check in. Seemed a little over kill. The staff are wonderful, the property renovated really well, property is nice with several fire pits available. An easy mile walk to downtown. Felt very safe. Loved it!

we absolutely loved this place. it's in the middle of being renovated, and even though we stayed in one of the older rooms, it was still updated, clean and super spacious. we were in town off-season, and it's about a mile walk to downtown salem. the walk is pretty easy, maybe two streets depending on where you're headed, and felt safe at night as well. i can see this being a great option for peak-season as it's a bit further out, but still easily walkable, and a great way to avoid having to find and pay for parking downtown. my favorite perk - there's a dunkin literally steps away from the property. the property itself is well lit with a huge, open parking lot and a central gathering space with cozy swinging chairs and music, just a cool place to unwind and read a book. the room was HUGE, and very comfortable. i look forward to returning when the property's renovations are complete.

Nicely renovated and quiet. Nice game area, fire pit and bed. Would have rated higher but the parking lot was being renovated also and had to use entrance from side street which was very rough.

Outdoor center patio with grills. The outdoor chairs and tables with fireplace. Oversize Jenga game outside. The all new modern hotel room appliances with witchy decor added throughout the entire area reminds you your truly in Salem. Whoever picked out the wallpaper is a genius! We all need the designer in our lives.

The room was great. Very clean & comfy. The construction at this property is a hot mess. Google maps takes you to the parking lot which is closed. Parking to stop and ask is limited on the street. Had to ask a construction worker how to get to the office. Had no luck talking to anyone at the office after leaving a voicemail for someone to call me back. They should far warn their guests prior to arrival.

The Cove has clean, spacious and beautifully updated rooms. All the amenities that you need with luxurious soaps and shampoos (need to find these). The grounds are stunning with several propane fire pits, BBQ’s and chairs. Music playing softly outside. We had drinks around the fire pit and coffee and breakfast the next morning. Staff are wonderful, it’s a little gem. Would recommend and will definitely stay there again, will try a theme room the next time. Thank you for making our stay a remarkable experience

Hotel was cute and the gentleman checking us in was very accommodating. Gave a 4 out of 5 because there was a dirty towel on our bathroom floor upon entry and the floor was dirty. Not visible dirt but after we showered we had to clean our feet just going from the shower to the bed and put socks on. Close to shops and food but the town, besides bars and some restuarants, pretty much closes at 7 so keep that in mind.

The king witch themed room was esthetically pleasing, however, the trash was not replaced and the shower curtain was missing. There was still hair from the previous stay in the tub and makeup powder in the sink. It was clear the bathroom had not been properly cleaned. When I called the after hours number, they advised they could not get someone out until the next morning. Unfortunately, we are here for one night and check out is at 11 AM so this experience is unfortunately the entirety of our stay.

The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful -Nova was wonderful and I felt that she went out of her way to be accommodating. However, I didn't appreciate the fact that a container of food was left in the refrigerator. There were no cups for the coffee machine, only one glass in the bathroom and no other glasses in the room at all. The shower had containers for bodywash, shampoo and conditioner but no soap at the sink to wash your hands. Nova and a young man rectified the above situations. Thank you again ! Housekeeping came the next day and gave us fresh towels but didn't even make the beds. The shower floor was very slippery, we spoke with another couple, and they said the same thing about the floor being slippery. The firepit area was very nice - there were two firepits and only one was working but it was quite nice to sit outside, relax and enjoy the beautiful weather

Motel close to all points of interest in Salem. Rooms were spacious, immaculate, beautifuly decorated and very comfortable. Everything that you would need for a stay was right there. I also appreciated the kitchen. Thanks again

The Cove was a wonderful place for my husband, our 12-year-old son and I to stay. while visiting Salem. The front desk staff was great - so helpful and kind! Our room was super clean and the bath products were lovely. The beds were nice, linens clean and soft, great water pressure in the shower too! I highly recommend them and we will also be back!

The themed room was great! The shower was very slippery and I actually fell. I liked the scenery despite the construction i was made aware before and am looking forward to staying again once the new rooms are finished.

The shower had lots of hair in it.. so did the beds… also a crazy amount of ants.. no hand soap in bathroom and it was a mile walk to most everything… our room was next to road. Traffic and sun were always an issue.. people above us were very loud our whole stay.. also our “key” code never worked when we came back to our room and had to be reset every time.. (after hours) The room was new, location wasn’t terrible.. but for the price I paid per night I definitely expected better..

The room was great, clean and comfortable. Everything we were expecting, the only problem was the outside light for the outside walkway lit the room up way to much, need room darkening curtains, we hung towels over the curtains but we were not able to cove the whole window, also the window over the sink could use a shade I can’t sleep with a light on.

New section of the hotel was great, only 3-4 weeks in use. It was very well appointed & much more upscale than a typical hotel. Large screen tv, significantly larger microwave, amazing tiled shower. All of the staff were outstanding! We had great conversations with several of them & it was a pleasure to get to know them. There was a game room above the registration office that was very well done. We will definitely stay there for any future visits to Salem

Check in was quock and easy. The room was clean. We were one of the theme rooms the ice palace room which was very cool. It's conveniently located not far from town. It would be great if they had blinds to close on the windows. The parking lot and walkways are very well lit which is great for safety but not so great when you can't block the light from shining in your room all night.

don’t come here if you are any type of light sleeper. everything was clean and looked really nice, the staff were great especially for recommendations. everything is walkable. our trip felt unsatisfactory after not being able to sleep and rest because you can hear the people in the next room simply speaking to each other, paper thin walls

This was a great place to stay. The only reasons i cant give it a 5 star review was because of a few small things. 1 the doors use a code to unlock and for some odd reason ours kept forgetting the code and needed reprogrammed. 2 there was an outside light by the window for the bedroo. That the curtains did not blcok out. As someone who likes it dark when trying to sleep it was kind of a bother. Not a deal breaker or anything just mildly annoying

The room was beautiful and the SHOWER was SO nice (I love me a nice shower, not gonna lie). It’s about a 25 minute walk to Essex street, so not too far from downtown. Would def stay here again.

Absolutely stunning! From the property itself to everything in the rooms. We stayed in 2 different rooms and both had stunning decor. The game room is cool and everything is kept clean. Location is perfect you can walk into town within 15-20 minutes no need to worry about parking. Staff is super nice and friendly. They also had amazing recommendations. I will be recommending this place to anyone who wants to visit Salem.

The pictures on hotel.com were incredibly misleading. Were given what has to be tiniest room i have ever stayed in. Not at all whatbi expected. The room amenities were mediocre at best. No ice bucket? One of the bedside lamps were burned out. It was not replaced the whole time were there. They had remote controls for the lamps. That was weird. There was no waynto secure the door from inside when we were in the room. The room locks were keyless combination locks. Weird but functional. Staff was friendly enough, but office hours were limited. Very limited vending options. All in all, it was way over priced for what we got. I don't recommend this, at least not through hotel.com. be really careful that you get the room you want or you will be in a shoe box.

No ice bucket? One of the bedside lamps were burned out. It was not replaced the whole time were there. They had remote controls for the lamps. That was weird. There was no waynto secure the door from inside when we were in the room. The room locks were keyless combination locks. Weird but functional. Staff was friendly enough, but office hours were limited. Very limited vending options. All in all, it was way over priced for what we got. I don't recommend this, at least not through hotel.com. be really careful that you get the room you want or you will be in a shoe box.

I booked a room for a few nights at the Cove. The room and such were fine however the reservation was cancelled in error. I immediately rebooked the exact same reservation, room and all. The hotel kept half of the original reservation cost as a cancellation fee. I called Hotels.com and was told it was up to the Cove to refund the money for the fee. $300. I spoke to the manager of the hotel, Joe, who told me it was hotels.com that charged the fee not the hotel. After numerous calls and trips to the office Joe told me to have Hotels.com call the hotel and he would work it out to return the money as the reservation was cancelled in error and no money was lost by the hotel. Hotels.vom has tried numerous times to call and resolve the issue with no response from the Cove. I'm extremely disappointed and frustrated by the experience and now almost 3 weeks later an still trying to get it resolved. Any decent place would refund the money to keep the customer happy. Seems this place is more interested in keeping the fee. I will never stay there again and would advise anyone who respects fair business and honesty to do the same. Extremely unprofessional and deceptive and dishonest. Boo to the Cove.

The cove hotel double booked our room and made us go to a hotel that was less money per night, closet was broken. They rarely responded to me and out right ignored my complaint, including my expedia message, my text messages, etc. They have just continued to send the same message on repeat and have only responded to my response once. I jave implored they refund me the difference and honestly I Wish to be refunded the entire 3 nights spent in a less than nice motel. I am furious with the cove and their customer servic. This is a self service property. They do not have the expected check process or frontdesk. You are sent a link and they text you your door code. There is no staff after 8pm and the hotel is under construction. We arrived late and had a room that smelled freshly painted which aggravated my asthma and there was nothing we can do about it. It also represented itself like a hotel when its really a motel. Although the motel was in a good location to where we wanted to be and room was modern despite the paint smells.. I would wait until fully built before returning.

We checked in through an email link as instructed. When we arrived the front office was closed. With a note taped to the door stating that the office closed at 8pm. It was 9pm. At no time during the check in process was this 8pm time mentioned. There was a number to call. It was a voice message instructing us to call a second number. We called the second number and got a second voice message instructing us to leave our number to be called back. We didn’t get a call. We booked a room at The Hampton Inn a few miles away. Everything there was great. Still haven’t received a return call from the Cove. Will not return!

Overall it was a nice stay at The Cove. Location was great for those of us not wanting to be right in noisy downtown. About 25 minute walk, and 5-7 minute drive to the heart of Salem. Room was clean, decor and styling was nice, and it was fairly quiet. The only negatives I have are that one day our room was only half done room service wise for some reason, and the original lady who checked me in wasn’t overly friendly. Not rude, but not nearly as helpful or friendly as the other guy that was there a few days later. I would probably stay again.

we absolutely loved this place. it's in the middle of being renovated, and even though we stayed in one of the older rooms, it was still updated, clean and super spacious. we were in town off-season, and it's about a mile walk to downtown salem. the walk is pretty easy, maybe two streets depending on where you're headed, and felt safe at night as well. i can see this being a great option for peak-season as it's a bit further out, but still easily walkable, and a great way to avoid having to find and pay for parking downtown. my favorite perk - there's a dunkin literally steps away from the property. the property itself is well lit with a huge, open parking lot and a central gathering space with cozy swinging chairs and music, just a cool place to unwind and read a book. the room was HUGE, and very comfortable. i look forward to returning when the property's renovations are complete.

This hotel had a very modern feel which we absolutely loved and had everything we needed, plus some. The staff were super friendly & helpful. Bottles of water provided at no charge. It is a bit outside of the main part of town, so you do need to drive to do anything.

This place was perfect for us as first time visitors! We didn’t have to worry about finding parking and the traffic was light. It was within walking distance to the T as well as downtown Salem.

We had a good stay. The building we were in was so new that we may have been the first people to stay in the room we were in. It was spacious and modern, with charming themed decor. The guy at the front desk when we checked in was very friendly and helpful and gave us a great recommendation for where to eat. There were a few issues, perhaps related to the building being new. Some lights didn't work, and houskeeping did not come the first day. The location was convenient...we could walk to most of the sights we wanted to see. Overall a good experience. I would stay here again.

The all new modern hotel room appliances with witchy decor added throughout the entire area reminds you your truly in Salem. Whoever picked out the wallpaper is a genius! We all need the designer in our lives.

Absolutely loved it here! Aesthetically pleasing. Only a 15-20 min walk to the main attractions Salem has to offer. There’s expansion or phase 2 construction outside the property, so I’m excited to see what that’ll look like. The rooms have a mini fridge but no microwave, but guest are welcome to use the microwave on the floor above check in. Dunkin is right outside along with a convenient store.

A really wonderful stay. The rooms were really big, and the bathrooms were quite spacious as well. The check-in and check-out were easy and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The location of the Cove is excellent, as it is a little away from the crowds, but it is a short distance from all the attraction. We would have loved it to have had a breakfast, but there were several breakfast places nearby.

We arrived via taxi. Since there was construction in process, it was a bit difficult getting out. We had to meet our taxi across the street, because constriction equipment blocked the entire drive to the motel. One thing we found to be an inconvenience were the office hours. It opened at 9 am and closed at 8 pm. These are “banker hours and really do not seem to serve the customers. A place to go for breakfast would be really nice!!!

I loved how unique the rooms are and the property is lovely. I think they are remodeling too. My friend and I grabbed some beers from the check-in receptionist and relaxed in the comfy room!
