Beautiful place to stay. The cottage is right on the lake. Sunsets are incredible. We were so happy that we were allowed to bring our dogs along. Plenty of board and card games provided. Our host lives conveniently close by and was available for questions.

Matt was very helpful was a little tricky parking and carrying everything down and up the stairs, but we were very grateful to get out of the hustle and relax. Great granddaughter caught lots of bluegills and we used the kayaks to go swimming very fun

Perfect getaway on the lake!Go kayaking, fishing, or just enjoy the place. This place has everything one may neeed. Matt is just awesome and very welcoming!He spent time with us teaching us some new fishing techniques as well. Such an amazing time and place.

Clean but cluttered. Listing didn’t explain parking above with stairs. We had people with bad knees,making the stairs an issue. No instructions for anything,like the remotes,appliances. Dishwasher didn’t run appropriately. We had to supply other trash bags,only had one. We brought paper towels and a lighter,none provided. Towel’s were wet,we dried in the dryer No top sheets on beds,found them tossed on a shelf,not folded Card table would have been nice,hard to play games

Spoke with the owner a week before. He assured us he wanted us to have a great and relaxed time; to consider his cottage as a our second home and not hesitate to call him if we needed anything. Matt also told us the highlighted places to visit. He was correct on all accounts. My grandchildren 1-6 years loved the water, the games, firepit and the kayaks, awed by all the knick/knacks. Our family and friends impressed how well stocked with amneties and the cleanliness. For $1000/week I assumed it had WiFi, not the case. In addition, for the price it does not have a water softener system so the water coming out of any faucet smelled awful. Matt assured us the water was safe to drink however he was quick to bring us a Britta water filter. The deck furniture needed a lot of cleaning, we didn’t sit on any of it. My wife trimmed the bushes so we could park off the road a get out of our vehicle. The dock was covered in geese poop so we didn’t go on it. The location of the property was great for us as we were spending time and golfing with friends at Duck Lake. Matt was very accommodating for changing our checkin and checkout dates with no extra charges

Awesome lake view with beautiful sunsets. Secluded property that forces you off electronic devices (no WiFi) and we had great time playing board games. Excellent host that cares about people and your experience. Definitely worth the price.

Small quaint place that was stocked with essentials. We didn’t use them but it’s nice to see a place fully furnished if needed. We were in town for a wedding so we didn’t spend much time there or outside (it rained the entire weekend). But being close to the lake provided a nice view. My only negative was it wasn’t as clean as we would have expected. When we pulled back the blankets, there was a lot of dog hair and dead moth. Understandably this is a cabin, but lots of spiders and webs and dead bugs on floor. Which made it hard for my infant child to crawl around.

Had a great time at this property. It was exactly what we needed. The beds were really comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. There were a few too many cobwebs, but we're the camping type so it didn't bother us much.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Matt's cottage. There was a little dust and a little dog hair when we got there so it was perfect for us. It meant we could be comfortable and relax on vacation without worrying about tracking a little dirt inside. Matt was quick to respond to questions asked.

Absolutely loved this property. The boat launch was super close, house was clean and cozy. The master bed was so comfy, was hard to get up in the morning! We did some fishing and caught some really nice bass and pike. We will definitely back!

We came because there were kayaks in the description and I wanted to swim in the lake. I messaged Matt before booking, and he said it would be possible to swim. The reality was one kayak on the property, no paddle. Access to the water was difficult due to cement blocks and rope on both sides of the dock (see pictures). Matt promised to bring another kayak and paddles down, but never did. It was difficult to communicate with him since we couldn't text or call.The place hadn't been cleaned between renters and not cleaned well for a long time. The dryer had towels in it, thick lint in the screen, and the washer had wet cloths in it.The air conditioner in one bedroom was so dirty my daughter didn't want to use it. Yes, it was hot when we were there.Pictures show the waterfront and the dust in the house. Matt told us the place was basic and he kept his price low because of it, but the place should at least match the description and be clean.

It is a very cozy homey cottage. The host and his wife are very nice and accommodating. The beds are super comfortable and the sunsets are amazing. Have done a fishing vacation, at many different locations, for many years but this is by far the best place ever! The fishing wasn't great, but so far this year fishing isn't great any where, but the place was so nice that didn't even matter! Will definitely be back next year!!

We were celebrating an anniversary. The weekend was very peaceful. The first night it rained and we put a puzzle together. Enjoyed a bonfire the second night. We loved watching the geese and the goslings. The king bed was fabulous and the cottage had my favorite pillow. Couldnt ask for a nicer place.

Fantastic place! Everything was there we needed. Very quiet lake. Matt's communication was easy and timely. Had the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen. 100% I would stay again. My dog had the best time swimming all weekend. Can't say enough about this gem!

We came because there were kayaks in the description and I wanted to swim in the lake. I messaged Matt before booking, and he said it would be possible to swim. The reality was one kayak on the property, no paddle. Access to the water was difficult due to cement blocks and rope on both sides of the dock (see pictures). Matt promised to bring another kayak and paddles down, but never did. It was difficult to communicate with him since we couldn't text or call.The place hadn't been cleaned between renters and not cleaned well for a long time. The dryer had towels in it, thick lint in the screen, and the washer had wet cloths in it.The air conditioner in one bedroom was so dirty my daughter didn't want to use it. Yes, it was hot when we were there.Pictures show the waterfront and the dust in the house. Matt told us the place was basic and he kept his price low because of it, but the place should at least match the description and be clean.

Our cabin was very nice and cozy plus it came with a beautiful setting...lake front! The cabins nearby were nice as well with friendly visitors. My family and I enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

Quaint cottage with an americana flair. Truly is little house on prairie lake. Amazing sunsets over the lake! Comfortable and clean. Easy to get to. Close to boat launch.

Absolutely loved this property. The boat launch was super close, house was clean and cozy. The master bed was so comfy, was hard to get up in the morning! We did some fishing and caught some really nice bass and pike. We will definitely back!

Came up for a family reunion. Price/size/location were perfect for our family and dog. Beautiful views. Was aware of lack of wifi but wish we would have known about minimal cell reception as well.

This was the most pet friendly place we have stayed. The host was prompt with questions and advise of places to eat and purchase items needed. The window AC units were a little noisy but keep kept the place cool had to shut the bedroom unit off to sleep. We would definitely stay here again and the area is nice enough to plan a trip just to visit the area again and stay here. Very pleased with our stay.

Host was great and took good care of us. The property was beautiful and right on the lake. Kitchen was well stocked. Lots of stairs from parking to the house but otherwise mostly flat. The neighbors were even friendly. :)

We booked for a 2 night stay for our son who had a track meet at a local college. After a check in mix up (A Vrbo issue, not our host) everything was exactly as described. Our host Matt went above and beyond to get us settled once everything was taken care of. Even bringing clean towels down late at night to make sure we had everything. We weren't there much as most of our weekend was at the track. But overall everything was great and wouldn't hesitate to book with Matt again if we are ever out that way.
