It’s right by one of the many canals in Amsterdam. The staff was amazing from check in to check out. The cafe as well as the restaurant had many options to choose from. The restaurant is higher end and a bit spendy but the food is great! It’s within walking distance to the train where you can get around town. I would definitely stay here again!

The hotel has a nice restaurant/bar and a lovey sitting area with fireplace. The nearest train is a 15 min walk. I do like that the hotel was not directly in the busy city center. There are lots of shops on the way to the train. The staff was ok.

Just wonderful! Room was beautiful with a nice view overlooking the canal. Breakfast was fabulous! We rented bikes and rode all over town for a very reasonable rate!

Excelente opción fuera del centro. Aunque el servicio de Uber es rápido y no caro. (No utilizamos metro). Limpio, hermoso y ambiente muy agradable. Su lobby encantador y con salitas y sillones muy cómodos por doquier. Su terraza frente al canal (lindaaaa) sirve bebidas y platillos sencillos. El desayuno es caro. El único “pero” que le ponemos es la regadera: demasiado estrecha y con el piso curvo lo que la hace demasiado incómoda.

We were thoroughly disappointed by the housekeeping. No clean sheets during our 5 nights stay, hardly any attempt to vacuum. No extra towels when we asked. My husband worked in the hotelroom for 2 days but he left when housekeeping came and asked for certain things and were then not left. The fact that we were in no way compensated by the hotel management was beyond comprehension. A 'sorry about that' at check out and 'we will discuss with housekeeping' was all. And we paid up to 300 euros per night. The positives of the hotel however are plentiful. Great location. Amsterdam South is wonderfully quiet and has a great vibe. Breakfast was great as is the Harbour club restaurant. The rooms spacious, light (we had a view of the canal) and cool during the heat. Too bad we got so disappointed by the service, otherwise we would have booked again in the future.

De kamer was netjes, mooi decoreerd en best ruim. Maar de vloerbedekking zat vol vlekken,. Het eerste moment was het even schrikken omdat we een “half raam” hadden. Je moest op een laddertje klimmen en kon je op een kussen gezeten naar buiten kijken.

Fint sted, men præget af mangelfuld rengøring, hvilet i disse coronatider er ekstra kritisk. Det møj, der lå på værelset, da vi tjekkede ind, var der også, da vi tjekkede ud efter 4 overnatninger. Centralvarmesystem,/luftrensning/aircon måtte vi slukke, når vi var på værelset, da det larmede forfærdeliogt. Det kostede os den første nattesøvn. Morgenmadsrestauranten var fin (og dyr), men de syntes vi skulle udsættes for infernalsk støj fra deres højttalersystem. Parkering i hotellets egen gård tog de 40 Euro i døgnet for. Væggene er papirstynde, så alle lyde fra naboerne trængte lige igennem, og det vart ikke fordi vores naboer var specielt støjende, men man kunne høre hvert et ord, der blev sagt. Var det ikke fordi det lå bekvemt i forhold til de mennesker, vi skulle besøge, var vi kørt igen efter første nat.

Sehr schönes Hotel. Etwas außerhalb der City, dafür ruhig und gut mit dem Auto erreichbar. Zur Bahn ca. 10 min Fußweg. Zimmer sind groß, modern eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Das Personal sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Just spent a fabulous 3 night stay here and cant fault it, so clean ,room was spacious and lots of choices at breakfast. Never heard a thing at night ,so slept all night.a short walk to tram stop or metro. It was my birthday on Saturday, we never told the staff,but on returning to our room ,there was a large chocolate brownie,with happy birthday written on the plate, they must have noticed my dat of birth on my passport, a great gesture from the Appolo hotel highly recommended.

This hotel was a recommendation from a friend and on a 3 city tour between Paris, London, and Amsterdam, this was the worst hotel. I stayed with my mother in a room with double beds and it was canal facing, but the view was nothing special since I think we were on the 2nd floor. The paint was peeling in the bathroom and dropping onto things like the bath towels. Also the lighting in our room was very poor. It was one of those bathrooms where the shower blends into the toilet area and there is no separation - terrible design. It is apparently close to the artsy areas but not close to the center. The front desk staff always looked bothered when you approached. Would not recommend this property.

It’s a nice hotel with great walkability-close to lots of dining options and good shopping. Hotel bed is comfy and having a coffee maker and a bathtub is always welcome. Closet is a good size and the blackout drapes were very effective. There are a couple of tram stops nearby that you can use to get around the city. Uber is quite pricey in Amsterdam and a multi day public transportation pass is easy to pick up at Amsterdam Centraal. €21.50 for three days per person. The longer the stay the better the deal.

Stayed an extra night in Apollo after our 10-day BeNeLux tour. Located in a quieter part of AMS with easy access to the tram stop. Hotel is quite old as one can see in the elevator. Shower area is quite small. Staff very helpful.

Quiet location in Oud-Zuid away from crowds. Appreciated being able to check in early. Smart room, I liked the colourful decor and well-equipped (but only one armchair in double room). Canal view recommended. Bathroom clean with good shower (over bath). Only problem was heating which was far too hot, couldn’t turn radiator off or temperature down, real issue at night and will probably stop me visiting again which is a shame.

Mooi hotel met centrale ligging op loopafstand van het centrum. Zeer vriendelijke ontvangst en ook de medewerkers in de bar en ontbijtbuffet zijn zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De kamer is mooi en compleet, wij hadden echter de kamer dicht bij de lift waardoor er wel iets van geluid 's-nachts bleef, niet storend. En de kamer bleef zeer warm ondanks dat de verwarming uit stond. Het ontbijtbuffet was zeer compleet, goede producten, ruim voldoende en prettige ruimte met fantastisch uitzicht. Echt een aanrader als je echt een nachtje uit wil zijn of een citytrip maakt.

Only issues I had with room was it was loud. Only issue with service was with house cleaning, they were late servicing the room. Front Desk personnel were curious and very professional as were the folks working the Bar!

Very nice hotel. We were told our room was upgraded. We stayed on the first floor. It was a nice room, really clean and a nice bathroom and shower. The room was still quite small. Excellent service. We had food delivered one night which was allowed. We also used the concierge to store our bags before leaving. They offer a 5 euro voucher to use in 'The Living Room' café/restaurant, for every day you don't get your room serviced so you put a tag on your door for the day. You can't use this voucher on room service though, you have to be in the café/restaurant to use it. Its a 13 minute walk to the nearest tram into town. Good when it's dry, not so much when it's raining.

All in all a good stay. However, it is always surprising how poorly many hotels monitor the status of faucets and drains in bathrooms. In our room at the Apollo Hotel, for some reason the shower hose had been shortened so much that it only reached neck height. In addition, the mixer was worn out and thus impossible to adjust. These are features that the cleaning staff should monitor and ensure are addressed before any guest is affected. Equally surprising, however, was that no previous guest had complained about anything that was clearly not a new deficiency. While the hotel is outside the center of Amsterdam, it is located in a very nice area with many good restaurants and cafes within walking distance. The nearest tram stop is within a ten-minute walk. I can definitely recommend the hotel despite the mixer issue as the staff were very responsive to complaints and the issue was quickly rectified.

Würde das Hotel wieder buchen. Soe hatten vergessen beim Zimmer zu reinigen, obwohl ich es an der Reception mitgeteilt habe. Ich wurde aber dafür auf Frühstück eingeladen als Entschuldigung. Personal ist sehr gut.

I booked this hotel for my son’s 21st birthday. The hotel is stunning, the staff were amazing even arranging balloons and desert in his room as a surprise for his birthday. The hotel was in walking distance of transport links to the central and situated in a quiet area. Would highly recommended. 😄

The location allows you to experience a neighborhood feel rather than the busier areas in the Center, while still being walkable to sites or metro. Loved the interior design in both the room and common spaces. Hardly ever eat at hotel restaurants but this one was so nice we did (and could see locals were also doing so - it was packed). Also had drinks at the beautiful bar. Would recommend highly
