We have just left after having a great 2 nights in the hotel. It was in the perfect position for a quick sightseeing trip, in walking distance to everything we wanted to see. I was really worried after reading negative reviews on cleanliness size of room etc. we had a family room which was spotlessly clean and plenty big enough. Reception staff very helpful and friendly. This really is the perfect location for exploring the city. Parking opposite q park is expensive but handy. No discount offered by hotel as external company. We paid for breakfast and I think if I stayed again wouldn’t have added this on as was very limited/basic but still very good quality and clean restaurant just not what we are used to as a family. There are plenty of breakfast options on your doorstep out side and around d the hotel. Overall I was very impressed and would definitely stay again if in the area.

Hotel looks after your baggage before and after check in free of charge. Everyone on reception had a smile and said, hello each time we returned to the hotel. If you need a taxi to the airport, they will phone one for you at a fixed rate. Felt very welcome at this hotel and we'll definitely stay here again.

Basic room. Small shower. No fridge. Not a lot of space for storage. Great location very close to central station and right Next door to the police station. Breakfast was okay—full breakfast but not a lot of selection. For the price, the hotel is a great value. Clean and comfortable.

Few amenties, such as fridge, phone, bathroom hygiene items (only body wash and shampoo). Had clogged shower drain that allowed water to flood bathroom floor (repaired promotly the next day but left gobb of clogged hair on the floor) no ice machine, breakfast not included unless pay 20 Euros or 15 Euros if puchases 24 hrs in advance and would not reduce to 15 Euros if neglected to reserve). Considered this hotel ovepriced at about $160 plus $10 city tax.per night. Only better feature was nearness to the Central Train Station 6 -7 minute walk with luggage). Would look.for better if have to pay so much for not much.

The hotel was in a great location, close to both the Central Station and Dam Square. Check in was quick and easy and the receptionist was very helpful. My room was small, but comfortable and the shower was really good. It was useful to have a vending machine for drinks and snack, and although I didn't have breakfast at the hotel, it was good to have that as an option.

Great location for train station and trams. Easy walking distance to restaurants which i felt safe walking to alone. Room was a bit dated/tired but had everything i needed. Decent shower. Kettle provided with coffee and tea. Breakfast had mix of cold and hot food.

Hotel avenue is a 5 minute walk from the Centraal Station. It was very clean and had a comfortable bed. The shower was very small but the bathroom was very modern and clean. This is not a fault of the hotel, but if you use hair conditioner , bring your own. The hotel body/hair soap that is provided is not the best. The room we had was pretty quiet. There is an elevator if you need help with luggage.

The location is fantastic, however the rooms were not very clean. Beds and pillows had previous guests hair throughout and a couple of our towels had big rips in them. This hotel is cheap for the location in Amsterdam though. We skipped the hotel.breakfast so can't comment.

Finally asleep after more than 24 hours of travel, they woke me in the middle of the night because they had forgotten to collect the city tax upon check in. I asked them to allow payment on check out and they only returned with a card machine for the 16 euros. I would have paid 50 to stay asleep! Thoroughly annoyed. An okay room near everything. Mattress topper extends beyond the bed and by sitting on the corner, I actually tumbled to the floor. Dirt and crumbs under the bed. Bathroom smelled badly.

Hotel is ok and room was a good size but needs better cleaning. Bathroom had mold and the door did not close properly so water went everywhere. They need to replace the bedsheets as they were old and had rips. Towels were very old and frayed. My room had no fridge which is strange. I would not recommend this hotel.

Rooms are small, but as expected. The cooing of the pigeons on the window was sweet, especially compared to the occasional sounds of mice in the walls. I felt confident in the construction of the room so that no creatures could enter. Walls are very thin, as many other reviews have noted. I would recommend they either get rid of the decorative pillow or get ones with pillowcases that are washable - mine had visible fresh stains.

Das Badezimmer war in einem fürchterlichen Zustand. Wasserflecken an der Decke. Überall Schimmel, kaputte Lüftung, Fliesenfugen überall gerissen und undichte Duschkabine. Es hat auch nach Schimmel gerochen, was ein Gesundheitsrisiko ist.Die Fernbedienung vom Fernseher ging nicht und war komplett verdreckt. Das wir in unser Zimmer kamen war ein Glücksspiel, meistens dauerte es ein paar Minuten. Die Sauberkeit ließ auch zu wünschen über. Der Rest vom Zimmer war bis auf die Spinne die ein paar Tage an der Decke war ok. Positiv das Personal war nett und beim Frühstück hat nichts gefehlt. Das Rezeptionspersonal war wirklich sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Alle anderen Mitarbeiter waren wirklich unfreundlich. Unser Zimmer war sehr klein. Das Problem war aber der Dreck. Der Fußboden war so dreckig, dass ich mach 2 min Barfuß wirklich schwarze Füße hatte. Und das ist leider nicht übertrieben. Die Toilette war dreckig. Die Dusche auch. Der Toilettendeckel war auch locker. Die Bettwäsche war auch dreckig. Vorallem Kopfkissen. Die Topper waren nicht fest auf dem Bett sodass man Nachts halb rausfiehl. Auch die Topper sind verdreckt. Wir warwn 6 Tage dort. Einen Tag wollten wir eine Reinigung da wir auch kein Toilettenpapier hatten. Leider wurde unser Zimmer ignoriert. Die Rezeption hat mir dann alles in die Handgedrückt was wir gebraucht haben, haben sich entschuldigt usw. Die waren ja wirklich lieb und konnten nichts dafür. Unter der Woche war das Frühstück ganz gut. Am Sonntag wurde nicht wirklich nachgefüllt und wir haben auf Brötchen und Rührei fast 30min gewartet.

The hotel was basic but adequate. But my bathroom toilet hadn’t been flushed so I was greeted with someone else’s mess. Shower was a bit mouldy and there were hairs on my pillow. Not super clean.

The property is dated. There was a heat wave during our stay. The lobby has no air conditioning, so it was very hot during our check-in. My room has two levels, with beds on both the main floor and the attic. There is only one heat pump on the main floor, so the attic was too hot for use.

The positives for this hotel, it is very central to most amenities, connecting tram line right outside. Ideal for to use as a base, i spent very little time in the hotel as wanted to sight see and explore. Staff pleasant enough. Negative's it can be noisy as rooms have single glazed windows with wood frames. My room looked onto a walk through alley which became very noisy on a night time, due to a restaraunt and other facilites in the alley. Cost for low session for one person work out around £100 per night ( room only, no food) remember visitors tax on arrival as it adds anothe £10 per night.. Room very small and an odd shape, this was because of a slopping roof where the bed was situated (managed to bump head on several occasions)

We had two medium-sized luggage (one clamshell, and one that opens from the top). Found just the right amount of aisle space to deal with our luggage. Had we had bigger luggage we would have struggled. Bathroom was clean but tiny, and the shower doors are foldable and open up into a rectangle (hard to explain) - the result is wet floors near the toilet itself after a shower. No complimentary toothbrush/toothpaste/bedroom slippers provided. Towels, shower gel and shampoo provided. Shower was hot and had good water pressure. Room had a heater and we could open the windows to let in the cold winter air. Was a functional hotel for our stay as we were only in to sleep. Great location, just opposite to the tram stop. This is my 2nd time staying in the hotel. This time the room assigned was quite large but rather awkward setting where toilets and bathroom are located at the attic, requiring intense movement up and down for various needs. Breakfast was great and overall service was also pleasant.

We had a room booked for over a month. I emailed for an early check-in. I asked for a baby crib. I got form emails back. Ok, we can wait til normal check in time. 3 adults, 2 infants (3 months). Arrive in Amsterdam, stop at the hotel, talk to the young receptionist. She has me pay the taxes, and they tell me “It’s not ready yet.” I go see the city. Check back at 1pm. “They are cleaning the room.” Check back at 2; “not ready” 3 pm (check-in time): They inform me there is a leak and it won’t be fixed. They hand me 3 prepackaged stroopwafels, the cheapest things ever that I can find in rural America, and tell me I have to stay at a different hotel; This hotel is not in the same location I paid to book. It is much either from the city center. It is much further for my elderly family member to walk. IT ALSO COST HALF OF WHAT I PAID AVENUE HOTEL. They are making money off rebooking people. I did find out from the second hotel that there was no leak: THEY OVERSOLD THE ROOM. DO NOT STAY HERE. They are sleazy. I assume they’ll reply with some form response below. Finally asleep after more than 24 hours of travel, they woke me in the middle of the night because they had forgotten to collect the city tax upon check in. I asked them to allow payment on check out and they only returned with a card machine for the 16 euros. I would have paid 50 to stay asleep! Thoroughly annoyed. An okay room near everything. Mattress topper extends beyond the bed and by sitting on the corner, I actually tumbled to the floor. Dirt and crumbs under the bed. Bathroom smelled badly.

Hotel looks after your baggage before and after check in free of charge. Everyone on reception had a smile and said, hello each time we returned to the hotel. If you need a taxi to the airport, they will phone one for you at a fixed rate. Felt very welcome at this hotel and we'll definitely stay here again.

The check-in staff were excellent. I had two different reservations and they allowed me to stay in one room for the 3 nights I am here. They were very friendly and extremely accommodating. It because of the great very friendly staff that I always stay here when I visit Amsterdam.

Check in time was an immovable object. This was annoying at best. We figured we may be early and would have to check our bags which was fine and that was the plan but were told that our room was ready; but, if we wanted to check in early, at noon, it would cost another 50 Euros....why....made no sense whatsoever!

Room compact but very functional. Room on side street - incredibly noisy at night. Staff (except for Milo) Very inflexible. Wanted to change pd breakfast 1 day ahead. Original answer no - our system doesn’t allow it. Had 2 back to back reservations - they made us check out, store our luggage and wait til pm to check back in again even though the next room was ready and right beside the 1 we checked out of!! Never experienced this in all our travels. Check in staff need customer service training - no common sense.

The staff was horrible we arrived at 130 from a all night flight and they made us sit in the lobby until 3 to get the room ,but kept coming over telling us the room was ready but for a extra 40 euros we could get in right away this is despicable hotel avenue is awful avoid at all costs asking staff for any help was even worse and try to exchange money was as if you were a criminal

Clean, safe and friendly.staff. very easy and quick walk to central station, and also close to RLD and shopping streets. Good value, room was happily more modern than the hallways. We stayed with a baby and the cot provided was decent quality and we were able to move out buggy and all our bags around the hotel comfortably. Didn't try the breakfast as it was not much better value than eating out. Overall very happy, enjoyable stays, would recommend.

Staying at Hotel Avenue made sightseeing in Amsterdam quite easy. The location is ideal because it's next to the Central Station and within walking distance of many tourist attractions. There's a tram stop right outside the hotel, too. This really enhanced my ability to go out and explore. I'd definitely recommend this hotel.

We have just left after having a great 2 nights in the hotel. It was in the perfect position for a quick sightseeing trip, in walking distance to everything we wanted to see. I was really worried after reading negative reviews on cleanliness size of room etc. we had a family room which was spotlessly clean and plenty big enough. Reception staff very helpful and friendly. This really is the perfect location for exploring the city. Parking opposite q park is expensive but handy. No discount offered by hotel as external company. We paid for breakfast and I think if I stayed again wouldn’t have added this on as was very limited/basic but still very good quality and clean restaurant just not what we are used to as a family. There are plenty of breakfast options on your doorstep out side and around d the hotel. Overall I was very impressed and would definitely stay again if in the area.

Location is fantastic. 7 min walk from the train station (easiest access to the airport). Property is in the best area of town with tons of things to do including dinning and shopping. The hotel is dated but the room is clean and the bed is comfortable. Hôtels in Amsterdam are expensive in general. Breakfast is ok. Nothing special. It has scrambled eggs but no fruits (fruits from the can only). Check-in is 24hrs unlike bunch of hotels in the area that end it before midnight (I arrived at night). Checkout is 11am (possibility for late checkout but for 10 euros per hour). They held our suitcases after the checkout (they also do it for early check ins).

Very comfortable and welcoming. An easy walk from the train station and surprisingly quiet considering it's location. The reception was very professional and efficient. The room was quiet and perfect for our stay. The only negative was that it was quite hot and I didn't like the pillows. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. Left luggage was a bonus as was the kettle in the room. I would definitely stay again.
