Hotel Arena is such a beautiful mix of old and new, the building has so much character, but everything feels modern and comfortable. The location next to Oosterpark is peaceful, and it’s still easy to get to the city center. The staff were super friendly, and the restaurant was a great surprise. I’d definitely stay here again.

Hôtel dans un cadre agréable. Il faut compter un bon 30 min pour se rendre dans le centre à pied. Tarif parking 50€ la journée. Dans l'ensemble bon séjour, le petit déjeuner est top ! Petit point négatif sur le ménage de la chambre (à revoir).

For us not worth the value. The bathroom situation was pretty bad because it is only a box IN the bedroom with no noise or light barrier. For us this was inconvenient but the hotel could do nothing about changing our room. Staff was professional but not very friendly or empathetic. Ridiculously over-priced for their bike rentals. Being on the park was nice but there were not restaurants or shops near by. It would have been nice if they could lend out rackets to use in the tennis court in the park which they prominently show on their website.

Hotel Arena is a beautiful property in a quiet neighborhood near a large park. It was convenient and easy to get to on the tram lines, 1, 4, 7, 14 and 19 making it a quick hop into some of the busier areas, but quiet enough for a good night sleep. Plenty of food and beverage options nearby as well. Property was well-appointed and had luggage lockers available for guests post-checkout, so we could make the most of our time in Amsterdam. Would absolutely stay there again!

Love that this hotel had a park setting very quiet in a nice area little restaurants around that you could walk to for breakfast or dinner. The hotel restaurant was nice as well. They make a great limoncello spritz that we enjoyed would definitely recommend to stay here.

Rien à dire sur la beauté de la chambre 24, la propreté, le service. Superbe escalier menant à une mezzanine, lit hyper confortable. Bon, un évier de sdb émaillé et fêlé, pas de prise de courant au rdc sauf une vulgaire multiprise bien cachée sous l'escalier. 4 étoiles quand même, flûte alors. Mais alors... Un parking à 50€ pour 24h, une taxe de séjour de 21€, le tout absolument pas annoncé lors de la réservation sur internet. Sacrée surprise à peine arrivé. Et avec les "I'm sorry" des jeunes et charmant(e)s réceptionnistes qui avaient presque honte d'annoncer ces prix.

The room was beyond tired the bathroom flooded every time you took a shower due to bad set up, smelt mouldy stains all over the carpet, walls, curtains. It did not appear very clean at all. Really disappointing definitely not a 4 star experience.

We really like this beautiful and unique hotel. It’s a great location and a very atmospheric building. But there is one issue: We stayed 6 nights and our room was cleaned once. We had to chase down housekeeping to get clean towels and toilet paper. It’s not acceptable for a such a nice hotel. It seems they don’t have enough staff for housekeeping. Please address this. We stayed several years before and had the same issue.

This hotel was really good!! The staff were the standouts. Everyone was friendly, helpful and always willing to give suggestions. I do think cleaning could be a bit better, our room was dusty and the bathroom had mildew stains but nothing that was detrimental to our stay. Location was perfect. As multiple tram lines are nearby. Breakfast and the restaurant were perfect

Die Lage am Park ist wirklich schön. Man ist zu Fuß auch in 20 Minuten in der Stadt. Die Optik und auch die Einrichtung sind schön. Leider war das Zimmer sehr hellhörig und auch die Sauberkeit ließ zu wünschen übrig (verstopfter Duschabfluss; Staub auf den Flächen und unter dem Bett; Wasserflecken auf dem Nachtschrank; insgesamt abgenutzte Badoberflächen). Gebucht war ein Doppelbett, erhalten haben wir zwei Einzelbetten, welche bei kleinsten Bewegungen auseinander gerutscht sind. Von einem vier Sterne Hotel kann man mehr erwarten.

Hotel is shabby. Housekeeping was a joke - had to ask for shower gel to be replenished second day. Tea/coffee pods not replaced after first day. Left hair conditioner out to be replenished and empty bottle left in exactly same place. Night stands were dirty and sticky upon arrival and I had to clean marks off them myself!!!!

Très bel hôtel, situation très agréable non loin du centre (à vélo), accolé a un superbe parc! La batisse est magnifique. Par contre, et c'est dommage, nous avons du rester 3 nuits avec une odeur forte d égouts dans l chambre, sans proposition de solution de l part du personnel De plus, le responsable du bar de l'hôtel le dimanche 30/10/2023 a été particulièrement désagréable et hautain, ce qui est inadmissible lorsqu'on occupe ce poste en lien avec la clientèle.

We liked the hotel overall. Felt a little dated in some spots. for the most part, room was clean but i found leftover food in fridge and a scrunchie by the bed. Staff was very friendly. Loved being close to park and the building was nice.

The hotel and the rooms are good. But they didn’t turn on the radiator in my room, so it was really cold. After I complained, they brought a portable electric heater. Also, there’s zero privacy in the bathroom: the door is made of glass and doesn’t close properly, so you can hear everything the other person is doing inside.

Tough to take a shower because it was not set up properly. Entire bathroom flooded unless shower head was detached and held in your hand the whole time but even then a lot of water sprayed out. Bathroom floor was not mopped up properly and we went through a lot of towels trying to mop up ourselves after showering. Flat sheets did not stay on the bed at all. We were not advised of hotel fee when we checked in, nor were we advised that the fridge in the room was motion sensitive and becuase we shifted things around to fit in a few things we purchased, they were going to charge us for beverages we did not consume. That was rectified at checkout fortunately. Having said that, staff were very pleasant overall and we liked the location inside the park though the location was quite far from many attractions we wanted to visit.

시내에서 조금 떨어져 있어서 트램이나 지하철 타고 이동을 해야함. (지하철 역, 트램 역과 도보 10분 정도) 오래된 수녀원을 리모델링을 해서 만든것이라 내부에 계단이 많음. 복층구조의 룸에서 지냈는데 계단을 오르락 내리락 하는것이 조금 불편했음. 조식서비스는 좋았음

Lovely hotel with polite staff, in a scenic and quiet location. The room was clean and large. The bathroom was lovely, however the glass wall/glass door was see through and did not lock allowing for no privacy when showering, going to the toilet or having a bath. It was a rather unusual experience. In addition, there was a hidden €50 per night deposit fee that was not highlighted in the booking process. The luggage storage was extremely convenient.

Beautiful hotel in a great setting. Staff very attentive and always on hand. Room was of a good standard (super comfy room) and had everything you could ask for included. Bar area and restaurant very good. Only negative is, the room was a loft room, and although the a/c was set at 19 degrees. The room was uncomfortably hot, with no heating. We had to sleep with the window open all night to get comfortable. Outside temperature was only 10° so In summer I imagine it would be unbearable.

Only problem with this hotel was that our room was not on one floor. The bed was up on a loft at the top of a narrow, winding staircase, The bathroom, small fridge, and small sitting room was on the bottom floor. If one needs to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, you must navigate that narrow staircase in the dark. Not fun. I doubt that all the rooms in this very large hotel have the same configuration. Be sure to ask before booking your room. Otherwise, the location of this old, elegant hotel is very nice, actually on the inside edge of a large, beautiful city park. The 20 Euro breakfast was just OK.

Die Lage des Hotels direkt am Park ist traumhaft. Das Personal war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Angebot der Speisen beim Frühstück ließ keine Wünsche offen. Wir hatten ein Zimmer, bei dem das Bett nur über eine steile und enge Wendeltreppe zu erreichen war. Die Treppe war ohne Handlauf, was sehr gefährlich war, so dass wir (beide 60) die Treppe aus Sicherheitsgründen rückwärts runter gehen mussten.
Die Lage des Hotels direkt am Park ist traumhaft. Das Personal war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Angebot der Speisen beim Frühstück ließ keine Wünsche offen. Wir hatten ein Zimmer, bei dem das Bett nur über eine steile und enge Wendeltreppe zu erreichen war. Veldig varmt oppe på sovedelen av rommet og aircondition som bråker veldig, er montert inne på rommet, nede. Termostat er og montert nede så det blir kaldt nede, men veldig varmt oppe. Det er ca 250 skritt fra resepsjon og veldig kronglete vei til rommet.

Check in was speedy and front desk staff was excellent and was able to address all of our questions and requests with exceptional professionalism and timeliness. We do have some issues with the room cleaning and will be addressing it with the property management. Overall, it's a good place to stay while in Amsterdam!

Hotel Arena is such a beautiful mix of old and new, the building has so much character, but everything feels modern and comfortable. The location next to Oosterpark is peaceful, and it’s still easy to get to the city center. The staff were super friendly, and the restaurant was a great surprise. I’d definitely stay here again.

The park in the front is beautiful but the hotel has a lot to work on. The check in is incredibly long and impractical if you're tired and you want to go to bed. The towels are extremely worn and the quilt cover was torn with a10 cm hole in it. Definitely far from the quality that I would expect for the stars in this hotel. The blinds in the room were broken and it was something you don't want to deal with if you spent a lot of time trying to check in in a tablet that is asking for too much information. The cherry in the top was that the safe didn't work either. So no, I would not recommend this hotel.

I didn't like that they receive 50 euros per night as deposit and they require credit cards for this deposit. They don't accept cash. They hold your credit card and this decreases the limit of your card. When they release it, it takes a week for this hold to be released officially from your card.

A few issues, our first night there and the lights kept going out which was extremely fraustrating as we were getting ready to go out for the night. The reception was a very long walk from our room and this happened 3 times as I was in the shower and my husband was half dressed. This then delayed us going out and the club we wanted to go to was cash only and sadly the ATM's close at 11pm in amsterdam which meant because we kept having the go back and fourth to reception and fix the lights we were delayed by 45min to 1 hour. We asked reception if they could make it up to us by allowing us to pay at reception and give us some cash so our night wasn't ruined but they were extremely unhelpful and suggested nothing to help ease the issue. She then said she would check with the restaurant after I insisted and got rather frustrated but then never returned to our room... Very poor customer service in general. The room keys constantly stop working so again, the long walk back to reception every time to get back to your hotel, no apology from reception again. The cleaners arrived at our room at 6pm on the second day when we were already back at the hotel so that was disappointing and I asked if they could come back in an hour after we had left, but they said no. So our room was only cleaned the one night. It's a very pretty hotel that overlooks the park but poorly organized and terrible customer service.

Lovely hotel with polite staff, in a scenic and quiet location. The room was clean and large. The bathroom was lovely, however the glass wall/glass door was see through and did not lock allowing for no privacy when showering, going to the toilet or having a bath. It was a rather unusual experience. In addition, there was a hidden €50 per night deposit fee that was not highlighted in the booking process. The luggage storage was extremely convenient.

Could not find our booking that we made on their own website and confirmed with a valid credit card when we arrived. We still had the booking email which took us through to our booking which could be canceled/modified on their website to that very day and was active and confirmed. It showed our booking said confirmed with all our information including the valid credit card. Then they blamed us for not paying for it on an email/link that was never sent and said it had been cancelled because of this. They couldn't explain why the website email link login showed our booking as active and confirmed. They would not take responsibility. Eventually found us a room but not a good stay considering all this. We didn't know if we would be able to stay as the hotel was "full". After about 30 mins at gone midnight when we arrived they "found us somewhere to get some rest for the night" and it took until the following morning for them to let us know we could stay without any room changes. Rooms very loud if the back into the road. No compensation. A complete shambles and a very tired and stressful stay. We were kind a courteous to them and only one staff member who wasn't directly dealing with the issue said sorry for what had happened. The 2 more senior staff that handled the issue did not. I've never encountered anything like it.

We had to wait for additional hour for them to find and set up second and third bed and at the end they did not even provide the blanket for queen bed, they gave us two single (twin) blankets. Another interesting thing, the hallway lead to our room, hotel staffs used as laundry stuffs area which I've never seen this in my life. To be fair for this hotel, it's quiet location, walkable to tram station. But I would not recommend this hotel at all.

Tough to take a shower because it was not set up properly. Entire bathroom flooded unless shower head was detached and held in your hand the whole time but even then a lot of water sprayed out. Bathroom floor was not mopped up properly and we went through a lot of towels trying to mop up ourselves after showering. Flat sheets did not stay on the bed at all. We were not advised of hotel fee when we checked in, nor were we advised that the fridge in the room was motion sensitive and becuase we shifted things around to fit in a few things we purchased, they were going to charge us for beverages we did not consume. That was rectified at checkout fortunately. Having said that, staff were very pleasant overall and we liked the location inside the park though the location was quite far from many attractions we wanted to visit.

The hotel is very beautiful and the staff are polite and friendly. The property is beautifully situated next to a park, and well connected to public transportation. Grocery stores, pharmacies and places to eat are within 10 minutes walk. Note that the rooms are not identical; you may see the pictures of a particular room but your room may not look like that.

This hotel was really good!! The staff were the standouts. Everyone was friendly, helpful and always willing to give suggestions. I do think cleaning could be a bit better, our room was dusty and the bathroom had mildew stains but nothing that was detrimental to our stay. Location was perfect. As multiple tram lines are nearby. Breakfast and the restaurant were perfect

Hotel Arena has an excellent location; three subway stations from Amsterdam Central Rail Station, ( Weesperplein, on subways 51,53, 54) next only one tram ( 7 or 14) station and a little walking. Hotel resides in an old renovated monastery building facing a beautiful park -Oosterpark. It is an oasis of peace and tranquility so close to the center of a busy capital. Staff was very friendly and responded very quickly to our needs ( for exemple replacing a defective safe) with exception of a reception clerk who seems very busy and behave like our arrival interrupted his work. Requesting a room quiete and without inside stairs, he gave us a cramped flat room, indeed tranquil, but all rooms were, probably bellow the comfort we had paid for. Eveywere else, staff working with tourists and guides were wonderful. The position of the hotel permitted us quick access to Central Station to visit other towns or cities like The Hague, Leyden, Delft, Utrecht, Haarlem etc. We booked on line well in advance visits to Rijkmuseum and Van Gogh museums. We also booked in advance by Viator a day visit to several old picturesque villages like Zaanse Shones, Voledam, Edam , Marken. I also strongly recommend this trip. The entire vacation to Holland was a great experience , which made us respect more such a hardworking people who recuperated land from the sea and maintained it as agricultural land.

I helhet ett väldigt mysigt hotel. Bra storlek på rummen, bekväma sängar och trevlig personal.Det var bara ett par småsaker som drar ner betyget och får en att undra hur hotellet kan ta så mycket betalt. Det va väldigt lyhört speciellt ifrån korridorerna. När andra gäster gick utanför så lätt det som det gick inne i rummet. Sedan vad badrummen rent ut sagt idiotiskt konstruerade. Cenimeter stora glipor ovan och under badrumms dörren. Gjorde att man hörde ALLT vad den andra personen gjorde. Låg känsla av kvalite på rummet när det var sprickor runt fönsterkarmarna och söndriga fogar. Sist så var frukosten enformig. Allt som var där var dock riktigt bra! Men det var alltid samma frukost. Redan efter tredje frukosten vad man trött på maten.

Love that this hotel had a park setting very quiet in a nice area little restaurants around that you could walk to for breakfast or dinner. The hotel restaurant was nice as well. They make a great limoncello spritz that we enjoyed would definitely recommend to stay here.

The building has an amazing history and a group of talented architects have made sure that its renovation has preserved its character and the unique traces left behind by the many people who were here before us while providing all the creature comforts we expect. The generous size of the room would have impressed every colleague who has had to live in a studio apartment in downtown San Francisco and it made for a zen experience. One possible exception to the excellent overall design that we struggled with was the decision to use a vast black glass wall to “separate” the bathroom from the living room. Once the lights went on, the ‘stage’ experience was unnerving. The hotel grounds blend effortlessly with the park and they invite you to explore and enjoy no matter the weather. The winter garden aka hotel restaurant was delightful, the service impeccable, and the menu, while somewhat limited, was clearly created with a lot of forethought as to the local ingredients and flavors. Suggestions for the management: - the use of AI-assistants to aid in passing information to Housekeeping and Front Desk staff was well implemented. Perhaps the bots could go a step further and make suggestions to their human colleagues as to the possible implications of newly received information, I.e. people arriving at midnight might appreciate a little help with their luggage up the winding, dark steps out front.

The room was a lot bigger than expected, so that was nice, however I would only stay there with a partner as the bathroom walls are glass all around. The breakfast was good, only thing is the staff is very panicky about people going in without saying their roomnumber, which is fine, but there is never any staff to greet you at the "wait here sign", so the only way to get the staff to come and take your roomnumber is to walk into the buffet, and then have a panicked staff member run up to you, maybe there needs to be more staff at breakfast. Also be aware that they stop filling up the buffet about forty minutes before it closes. Overall I really liked the hotel, the park at the hotel is also lovely.
The room was a lot bigger than expected, so that was nice, however I would only stay there with a partner as the bathroom walls are glass all around. The breakfast was good, only thing is the staff is very panicky about people going in without saying their roomnumber, which is fine, but there is never any staff to greet you at the "wait here sign", so the only way to get the staff to come and take your roomnumber is to walk into the buffet, and then have a panicked staff member run up to you, maybe there needs to be more staff at breakfast. Also be aware that they stop filling up the buffet about forty minutes before it closes. Overall I really liked the hotel, the park at the hotel is also lovely.

Such a unique place. Wonderful bar/ restaurant with beautiful views, outdoor patio. Rooms are unique, comfortable and quiet. Great location. Easy to get around. Look out for the bikers. Lol. Highly recommend.

What's with the lack of a shower head and faucet in the bathroom? We're not staying in military barracks. Also, slippers weren't provided in the rooms. Furthermore, there were cobwebs in the room and moths on my bed.
