This hotel is small with very steep stairs to the room and no parking associated with hotel. Our description listed "parking available" and it was a major factor why I chose them. (There is neighborhood parking during the day for a hrly fee and free overnight) but there is no security. The front desk help was completely clueless about neighborhood parking rules and didnt seem to be worried that we were very disappointed and anxious about our rental car. We had to figure it out on our own. The room had a shower with part of the glass enclosure missing that was covered by a curtain. Overall the room was clean but had a youth hostel feel and was not worth the price.

Room was kind of scruffy and in dire need of paint on the wall + not deep cleaned for a long time and mugs in the room were not changed between use while we stayed… The staff was ok. If you’re not in good shape or have trouble with steep stairs - don’t book this place. Even if there’s a non-smoking policy one of our rooms smelled of smoke and weed - it was changed after an extra night so in that sense they were helpful at the front desk. the area around the hotel is lovely but I would definitely choose somewhere else to stay.

El personal es bueno aunque les falta dar “la milla extra”. La habitación es buena por el precio que pagamos, nada extraordinario. Baño muy limpio. El área tiene excelente ubicación, muy cerca de todo y con mucho transporte. No hay estacionamiento y en la calle o en un público es muy caro. Venden un café exquisito

O hotel é simples. Os quartos do primeiro e segundo andar exigem a subida de uma escada bem íngreme. O atendimento na entrada do hotel não é prestativo. Durante os 3 dias tivemos contato com 3 pessoas diferentes mas sempre foram pouco prestativos e demonstraram indiferença.

Personal nett, ABER Preis-Leistung unterirdisch. Für fast 200€ noch nie schlechter irgendwo gewohnt. Zimmerbild der Buchung hat leider nichts mit der Realität zu tun. Teppiche im Hausflur mit großen Flecken. Im Zimmer Vorhänge teilweise aus der Führung gerissen. Bei geschlossener Zimmertür großer Schlitz zum Türrahmen und Tür komplett schalldurchlässig. Große Flecken im Stoffkopfteil vom Bett. Matratze durchgelegen. Kopfkissen steinhart. Winziger Schrank mit durchhängender, nicht adäquat schließender Tür und dicker Staubschicht auf dem Schrankdeckel. Bad so winzig, dass man sich nicht mal um die eigene Achse drehen kann. Schimmelflecken unter der Decke und Duschwand voll mit getrockneten Wasserspritzern und Kalk. Straße vor dem Fenster auch in der Nacht extrem laut und Fenster nicht schallisoliert. Insgesamt somit leider keine Empfehlung.

Sono senza parole, albergo sporco, camera con porte massacrate, pavimento sporchissimo e consumato! Per non parlare del bagno! Senza bidet, pieno di muffa, per tutto il soggiorno ci siamo lavati a pezzi, perchè io mia figlia di 2 anni e mia moglie temevamo davvero di prenderci qualcosa. Lo sconsiglio a tutti!!! Badate ben a dove prenotate.

In terms of taking tram, it is a good location. But the floor is so filthy. The pictures does on Expedia web does not represent the reality at all. We checked in, found out safe has does not work, has no battery, and the toilet splash its water whenever you flush it. The next day we present the issue to the front desk, the lady took out batteries and trying to fix the safe. 2pm we came back found out the safe is still not working and the room is not cleaned at all. We went to the front desk again. The guy said “oh we should give you the key, and the guy who checked you in is an idiot”. When we explained the toilet problem, he said it is normal when the water pressure is wrong. So I suggested you should at least giving a bottle of sprayed sanitizer there because it is the toilet water splashing out. He said no because no one complained about this before. I sincerely request Expedia give credit or refund for this kind of service. We didn’t book such a shabby hotel and service!

Inconvenience of opening the door of the bathroom, because clashing with the bed, which stood right next to the door. For people weighing more than 60+, it is hard to squeeze through. The safe did not work and, according to the administrator, it has not been working for a long time. The reason why it is there is not clear. The administrator was rude saying that it was fault of our phone models (we had iPhones), but it turned out that the reason was a malfunction of the Hotel router. Hotel is fine for the cost and location and if you are just using it as a place to sleep. Single beds very narrow and soft, walls very thin so can hear people in adjacent room. No aircon (was there during heatwave, unfortunately). But it’s reasonably priced and you get what you pay for. If you want a nice hotel near the centre you have to pay much more, or pay the same and stay much further out.

My wife and I booked a room at this hotel, and there are a few reasons we ended up finding a different hotel to stay in after we stayed one night out of three. First, the street it's located on is busy/loud at all hours of the night. Two, they did not put us in a room without AC during a bout of 90 deg F temps. The room had a window that would only open 2 inches because the bed was in front of it. This means very limited airflow and the window needed to be open to the loud street for any hope of cooling off the room. Three, the shower was tiny and the condition of the room was poor. Overall I would stay away from it as there are many other choices in Amsterdam.

An enjoyable and comfortable stay at the Apple Inn. A spacious room. Tram 2 runs just outside the hotel so very convenient. Airport express bus station is 5 mins walk away and operates regularly so excellent for travellers/tourists.

Das Zimmer war leider sehr klein und zudem sehr hellhörig, sodass man viel von den Nachbarn mitbekam. Im Zimmer gab es keinen Kühlschrank. Direkt nach dem Einchecken hatten wir außerdem einen Stromausfall und mussten fast eine Stunde warten, bis die Sicherung gefunden und das Problem behoben wurde. Personal war zwar bemüht, aber insgesamt eher enttäuschender Aufenthalt.

I read in a previous post there were no lifts and you had to use the staircase to get to the room, which wouldn't have been a problem, but the stairs were narrow and winding, difficult when you have luggage. The room was a lot smaller than expected and the bathroom. A comfortable stay for 1 night and convenient for trams.

The hotel was selected mainly for the location as I wanted to be very near to transport services. This is very easy to find and a few mins walk for the bus/ tram stops Be aware that the stairs are extremely steep and very narrow and there isn’t a lift Just a minor niggle but the water in the shower unit didn’t immediately clear and I stopped my shower as I wasn’t sure how close I was to flooding the bathroom Staff for check in/out were very friendly and helpful

This is very easy to find and a few mins walk for the bus/ tram stops Be aware that the stairs are extremely steep and very narrow and there isn’t a lift Just a minor niggle but the water in the shower unit didn’t immediately clear and I stopped my shower as I wasn’t sure how close I was to flooding the bathroom Staff for check in/out were very friendly and helpful

Lovely hotel in a great neighborhood just a couple blocks off the Vondel Park. Staff was excellent and really helpful with recommendations. Room was excellent, bed was comfy and the bathroom was spacious. Stairs are a little steep, but that seems to be the norm in Amsterdam. Only thing I'd add to my wishlist would be a mini-fridge. Otherwise, great place to stay!!!

Room was kind of scruffy and in dire need of paint on the wall + not deep cleaned for a long time and mugs in the room were not changed between use while we stayed… The staff was ok. If you’re not in good shape or have trouble with steep stairs - don’t book this place. Even if there’s a non-smoking policy one of our rooms smelled of smoke and weed - it was changed after an extra night so in that sense they were helpful at the front desk. the area around the hotel is lovely but I would definitely choose somewhere else to stay.

In terms of taking tram, it is a good location. But the floor is so filthy. The pictures does on Expedia web does not represent the reality at all. We checked in, found out safe has does not work, has no battery, and the toilet splash its water whenever you flush it. The next day we present the issue to the front desk, the lady took out batteries and trying to fix the safe. 2pm we came back found out the safe is still not working and the room is not cleaned at all. We went to the front desk again. The guy said “oh we should give you the key, and the guy who checked you in is an idiot”. When we explained the toilet problem, he said it is normal when the water pressure is wrong. So I suggested you should at least giving a bottle of sprayed sanitizer there because it is the toilet water splashing out. He said no because no one complained about this before. I sincerely request Expedia give credit or refund for this kind of service. We didn’t book such a shabby hotel and service!

Bij aankomst om 12 uur konden we al inchecken, alleen nog niet naar de kamer. De bagage konden we achterlaten in het ontbijthoekje, onbeveiligd.. de lobby zag er netjes uit. De trap naar de kamers is smal en stijl. De kamer is oké, maar niet heel netjes. De douche is klein en zag er vies uit. We gebruikte een campingbedje voor onze baby, maar deze was kapot. Een van de stangen van de bovenrand was ingezakt. Bij het aangeven hiervan, kon de man achter de receptie hier niks aan doen omdat dit een taak was van de housekeeping en ze waarschijnlijk maar 1 babybedje hadden. De kamer was erg lawaaierig. Great location in the Museum district with a tram outside the door and near to a stop on direct bus service from airport. Lots of good restaurants, bars and cafes nearby and close walk to many attractions. Our room was a little compact and the bathroom very small but for the overnight stay we had it was perfectly OK. the staff were very helpful with local information and breakfast was a good buffet for 12.50 euros. a very quiet location even with the trams.

An enjoyable and comfortable stay at the Apple Inn. A spacious room. Tram 2 runs just outside the hotel so very convenient. Airport express bus station is 5 mins walk away and operates regularly so excellent for travellers/tourists.

Quick review of the Apple Inn is that I would not stay here again. Here is the good and the bad. The Good: The location is excellent. It’s a short walk to Vondelpark, or to a nice bakery. It’s on the #2 tram line, which can take you throughout the city. Most is the staff were friendly and helpful, and there is a nice patio area to escape to. The Bad: If you have difficulty negotiating stairs request a room on the first floor. The stairs risers are very small and steep. In the compact room we found a TV that receives one station, a lukewarm shower and a safe that did not open. We asked for the safe to be repaired but it was not. Also, the breakfast cook appeared to dislike Americans.

The hotel was ok. Nothing special. We had ants for the three nights we were there. Told the front desk and they just said “oh. I’m sorry”. I understand that it’s not their fault, but it’s not fun waking up in the morning with ants crawling on your arm. The bathroom was incredibly small. My son is 6’2 snd could barely fit in there. The breakfast was supposed to be until 10 so we showed up at 9:30 and everything was pretty much gone. I think it was 12 euros. My friend is vegetarian and couldn’t eat anything except toast and cheese. The location is great but wouldn’t stay there again.

Unfortunately the bathroom reeked of mold and the lack of AC meant our window was open to the street where cars, trams, trucks, and people made plenty of noise most of the time. We arrived early and the staff were very helpful, arranged to leave our luggage whilst we meandered around the area until check in time. Our room was adequate, it was certainly clean, maybe a little tired but we were not living in the room. We slept really well in the confortable beds. Small bathroom, but had all we needed with no problems at all. During our 2 night stay at The Apple Inn the staff were always helpful and friendly. Trams, buses, cafes and restaurants are all close by, as well as the beautiful Voldepark. The hotel also sits in a beautiful, leafy suburb and would definitely come and stay again.

The room was clean, bright, and we had a nice balcony. Apple Inn is also easy for public transportation — you can take the 2 tram right to Museumplein, the canal ring and into Centraal. I’ve stayed here twice and would recommend it again.
