Nice hotel, walkable distance from the downtown, around 15 minutes. Rooms are very nice, cozy and well decorated. Breakfast is good but you have to pay extra for some items, a latte or cappuccino for example. Breakfast and hot tub areas are constantly crowded.

This is a great spot to stay while in Banff. It’s a short work to the shopping and dining options. They have 2 great hot tubs and a cold plunge. The best part was free smores from 4-7!

Great property. Outdoor features were really nice and the staff were AWESOME. Walkable to downtown and reasonably priced. Rooms are nothing special, pretty dark (no lights) and can’t open windows for light because there’s no privacy curtains. But otherwise would stay again.

Honestly the best hotel out of all 4 we stayed in during our trip. The theme is Adventure, and I just love that! The staff are all incredible. The location is perfect and the atmosphere is perfect. The room was quiet, cute, and super clean. The courtyard area is beautiful. The hot tubs and sauna were great after a day of hiking or skiing. The smores happy hour was just icing on the cake. Breakfast was good and the cafe was very nice. They offer some adult beverages in the evenings. Parking was super convenient and heated. They offer ski lockers and bike lick up and rentals. I will stay here in the summer when we try to Banff.

A lot of amenities! Including free breakfast, hot tubs, cold plunge, and sauna. Gym is decent size also. Smores every afternoon. Even though it's the farthest away from downtown, we had a great stay here! Shout out to John at breakfast who worked so hard and the other lady. Sorry don't know her name.

Free breakfast was simple and limited - but it was free! You can park for free at the street behind hotel. Sauna and 1 hot tub was out of service while we were there. Room had no view (unless view of a parking garage is what you want) but staff was helpful and had no issues during our stay. Pretty much at the end of the “hotel strip” but only took 20 minutes to walk to the main Banff downtown area :)

The included breakfast had plenty of options and was of good quality. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely stay again the next time we're in town!

My absolute favorite hotel in Banff. So cozy, clean, and a great location. The staff is so nice, the spa is lovely and the breakfast is delicious. I go back every year! Already can’t wait for my next visit to the Canalta! Highly recommend!

The hotel overall was good, but there were a few things that could be improved. Firstly, the parking was confusing. We were under the impression it was free but it is actually $19/night, or free if you can find a spot out back (staff wasn’t even sure if this was overnight parking or not). Second, our room was clean for the most part but there was an item left from previous guests that was left even after our room was prepared prior to checking in. The free breakfast was great. Also be aware this is a bit of a walk from downtown Banff!

We spent 2 nights at the Lodge. The front desk was very friendly and pleasant and the location is pretty convenient (walking distance from downtown). The rest of it was very so so, especially for the price. The room was not very clean and leaves that were on the carpet when we arrived stayed there through our entire stay. They made our bed by strightning the cover without fixing the sheets or putting the pillows in place (never happened to me in a hotel). The breakfast is very basic. All in all, average at best, and especially at their price.

We got a balcony room and it was a quaint little stay for 3 of us. The balcony was small but the windows that opened were a nice touch. The location is great, parking is cheap in a heated garage though it is tiny. The only thing we would recommend is an overhead light in the room as it was super hard to get ready etc without the curtains up or after sun down. Could also use a fan to circulate air as if the air or heater doesn't need to be on, the room gets stale.

Room was very clean, beds were comfortable. Loved the view and the little balcony to breathe in the fresh mountain air. The grill of the AC/Heater unit had mold on it, they need to clean these units and filters periodically. Overall very satisfied with the value for my stay, Mannon at front desk was fantastic! Personable, attentive, and professional. Would stay there again.

Nice location. Small rooms, not a lot of room for luggage. Small bathrooms. If not requested your sheets were not changed and room not cleaned. There are no safes in the room. Nice to have breakfast in the morning.

The room was tiny with angled ceilings that we bumped our heads on. The lighting in the room was poor - to little light in bathrooms for makeup or bedroom for reading. the hotel staff as great and the food options were adequate. Glad to have a breakfast included. Parking was convenient for a small fee. The staff was terrific. a little too far from main center of town for dining options - 15 minute walk, but bus options were available.

We booked this hotel primarily because it had a gym. It's a older hotel in good location, providing free breakfast, the staff was friendly, however we found that the room and bathroom had very poor lighting which at times became very annoying. We will probably not stay at this hotel next time due to the lighting.

A lot of amenities and things to do in this hotel ( hot tubs, cool dip tub, sauna, breakfast?, games, s’mores, etc.) Our upgraded room had a bed on an upper level. No ventilation. We got the room to 20 degrees C,With AC, but up where our bed was it was about 32 degrees C. Could not sleep.

Just returned from a stay here. Really enjoyed it there. We had a 1 queen bed room that was a little small. Our adult kids shared a 2 queen bed room that was nice and spacious. Staff was super friendly. S’mores in the afternoon was a nice treat. And we played games in the evening that were provided. All in all a great place to stay!

The hotel itself is nice. However, my overall experience was not great. I was stuck in the elevator for 38 minutes because of a power outage and got a pat on my back for not panicking; no apology, no offer to try to make amends. The housekeeping service was mediocre at best. I requested new sheets after my 4th night, but this request was never fulfilled. Also, I had to consistently ask for wash cloths during my stay. I also had an undesirable experience with respect to security and safety. There was loud banging on my room door at 5am. I was not expecting anyone so I panicked and called the front desk to report it rather than go to the door to see who was there-I called multiple times and there was no answer. Incident was later reported to the front desk in person and there was a nonchalant response. Will not be staying there ever again.

We spent 5 nights here at the start of our 10 day trip. The staff was amazing. I received a notification from Expedia mid flight saying the card of file for the hotel was declined to please call the hotel. I called as soon as we landed in a panic(we still had a 5 hour drive) and the staff member was super nice and said he would make a note but no need to worry it can be handled when we arrive. A few things to note about the property itself. Parking is not included there is a underground lot you can pay per day to use or free street parking behind the hotel. Also the balcony have very little privacy just a heads up you can see directly down the row of 3 or 4 connecting rooms when sitting out so we didn't utilize ours as much as I had hoped when booking the room. Breakfast was great everyday and included. Good variety and the area was very clean. Cleaning services everyday did a great job. The amenities are perfect especially if you are spending your days hiking. Hot tub, sauna and cold plunge! Plus fire pits and places to sit. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would recommend just be prepared to pay for Parking and have limited to no privacy on your balcony.

Had many great stays in Banff but I gota say so far this stay was the best staff was super friendly and service was more than great. If you do stay there. Gota try the root beer they sell at the bar. And they’re chocolate bars that’s locally made in Canmore.

staff at checkin were unhelpful. breakfast was unhealthy with cold food esp dairy, at room temperature and warm food such as eggs at room temperature. room was clean. would not recommend and hope not to return.

Probably one of the best experiences I've ever had at a hotel. All staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the hotel was beautiful and unique at such a reasonable rate.. I will definately stay again and highly recommend

Stayed 5 nights. Great location (close but not too close to the downtown crowds. Roam bus stop very close). Clean rooms and throughout hotel. All of the staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly. Loved the hot tub, sauna, daily smores. Good restaurants across the street. As mentioned by others, the daily breakfast was a little below most chain hotel breakfasts, but adequate and convenient. Wish the underground parking was free or less $. Otherwise, we loved our stay!

Just finished a 3-night stay for a ski vacation with my son. The Hotel is a little further from the downtown center, but definitely walkable. It is also the 1st or 2nd stop for the free shuttle buses that run to Sunshine and Lake Louise daily, so you've got a great chance of getting a seat. The Facilities are nice and the breakfast buffet has a variety of food options. Would stay there again on a future trip.

We stayed here in January while we skied. The staff were friendly and helpful with anything you asked. The cost per night was real good value. However, this hotel is at the far end of Banff Avenue away from the main hub of restaurants, grocery stores etc. With that in mind, our next stay will be closer to the centre of town.

The hotel was excellent. Staff very helpful with advice for a local tour and one they had done themselves. We had an upgraded room which was a surprise and was excellent. The normal rooms were excellent anyway. Breakfast was excellent and room spotless. Didnt try hot tubs as they are very popular.

Breakfast was the exact same thing everyday. It was ok. Staff was responsive. Had 2 minor issues in room and both were fixed the same day they were reported. Room needed more lights and the bathroom needed a fan. Underground parking was great! The entire town has a parking shortage so having a guaranteed space was great. I was a bit disappointed in the outdoor firepit. The flames were meager...but adequate for toasting marshmallows for s'mores that were available daily.

There was actually very little on offer in terms of breakfast variety especially since we stayed 3 nights. It was the same everyday. The bar staff were not very helpful and the limited selection of snacks that we did order, wings and spring rolls were pitiful and not worth the money spent on them. There was no initiative to clean up tables…just left guests to clean up after themselves. We paid for private underground parking but the garage door was open the whole time…even though we were given a code we never needed to use. So security didn’t seem to be a priority. Sorry but I would not return even though the room was nice enough.

We have stayed here before, but the complimentary breakfast was very disappointing. We have had this type of breakfast at other hotels, but the Canalta Banff was by far the worst. No fruit, powdered eggs were disgusting and oatmeal was so watery. This is not a cheap hotel and to top it off you pay for parking. They could do better.
