Hotel Canoe and Suites

Very nice hotel with friendly staff. Sudden Sally restaurant attached to the hotel has amazing breakfast. A little tricky to get from building B to C, aswell as getting from the parking areas to certain areas was a bit challenging. Wouldn't say it ruined the stay at all though. Hot pools are so nice after a long hike. Highly recommend for a nice Banff stay.

Room is spacious and beautiful. The hotel is consisted of 4 buildings (A, B, C and D), each with parking spots adjacent to it so it very convenient to get to the vehicle. We were there during shoulder season and there seems to be just enough parking. There is an area with 2 hot pools (hot tubs) and gas-fire pit. Both our room and the hot pools are facing the mountains so the view is stunning and sitting in the hot pool can feel therapeutic. It was not too crowded when we were there. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend others of this hotel. I find it to be one of the more nicer looking hotels in banff.

Lovely hotel. Top perks would be the outdoor hot tub area and the roam bus pass to easily get into the center of town. Free/easy parking was available as well. Food wise, I was pleasantly surprised at how good and vegetarian friendly the area was. I really enjoyed Good Folk at the Otter hotel next door and had a few grab and go items from Suddenly Sally. I enjoyed staying at the edge of town with easy access to the busier area via the bus system (or an easy 20 minute walk). I also used the guest laundry which was nice to have available (with easy card payments).

Beautiful hotel, great restaurant and cafe/bakery on site. Pools and sauna were gorgeous. 15 minute walk to shops or free bus. No Netflix was disappointing. Would have been a perfect stay if not for that.

Love this hotel. A++ service and facilities all around. The hot tubs were a highlight. The restaurant was delicious and a great barista. On edge of town but hotel will give you a free bus pass, and the bus is super convenient. Can’t say enough about this place. Will stay here again!

No the room had multiple hairs in bedding and pillows. We called and they brought us new sheets that we had to change ourselves but the view was outstanding and suddenly Sally’s was really good for dinner and breakfast cinabuns and banana bread and almond croissant I would highly recommend

Decent but expected more for the price. No complimentary water or snacks at all in the room. Elevator smelled funky all the time. Staff was friendly but not super involved.

Incredible hotel! It was beautiful, clean, and the room was awesome.

The bad: Well the first "mountain view" room they gave me was obstructed by the pool gazebo, and anyone walking around the upper pool could look right into your room. I immediately asked for a new room as this was unacceptable for a 650$ a night mountain view. They let me change rooms, which was appreciated. The room was fairly clean, there was gross gunk on the ceiling in the bathroom, the microwave cubby was very dusty. The outside cover on the air handing was falling off. The beds are extremely firm, if you are a side sleeper you will wake up sore. I was not impressed. The door let's so much light into the room at night it's rude. The thermostat also won't ever turn off so we ended up hanging a cloth over it so it wasn't so bright. The air handling points directly at the beds, so whoever sleeps next to it will wake up sick and dried out. There's very little adjustment to it. It feels like the design of this place was not very much thought out. It is not handicap friendly. None of the doors have buttons for handicap access, even though they have parking spots at each building. The good: The pools were great. The pressure of the jets was very good, very welcoming after a long day of hiking. The sauna was also well done. The parking was easy, although if you have a lifted vehicle at all. You'll be having a hard time finding parking. The mountain view is great, if you get a good room, it seems there are a handful that are "mountain view" that wouldnt be good.

Everything stands out! The rooms are clean and beautifully maintained and decorated. The bed and pillows were fantastic. The staff friendly and accommodating. The hot pools just what we were looking for. The location is a few steps from the bus stop or a lovely walk to many restaurants.

Pillows rock hard; coffee situation inconsistent ( we had to go to the lobby to ask for coffee) and the housekeeping was not done daily unless we asked. The shower takes quite a bit of time before hot water comes through.

Very warm welcome checking in. Immaculate clean room with plenty of towels, extra pillows and blankets. Nice touch with the ground coffee (Sudden Sally) and tea selection. Climate control easy to use and comfortable.

The hotel is very nice, check in was amazing and quiet and they let me check out at 12 instead of 11 and all the girls there were really friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed the hot tub and it was so relaxing however the room heat system was not working so well and it definitely did effect my sleep as it wasn’t working properly and was so loud so I had to turn it off and sleep at the end and it did get a bit cold.

Great design but window heaters need to be replaced

Fantastic stay - rooms are cozy with a nice warm fireplace, great coffee selection both in the lobby and the room (pour over on demand). Walls maybe a little thin and a bit out of the way but the free bus fixes that anyways. Onsite breakfast was delicious.

We loved the hotel! Amazing pool/hot tub area and incredible restaurant with a great happy hour. Staff and service was also great! Our only complaint were the uncomfortable beds in our room.

*Tell new guests about the “blackout curtains” in the room when they check-in. *“Mountain”view was a little misleading; it was actually a view of a road and gas station in front of a mountain. *Provide more luggage racks in the room. *Room was well maintained and clean. *Breakfast was not “free” for us; we had to pay $25.20 CAD including the tip.

Overall great hotel, excellent, friendly staff, nice atmosphere, super clean. We very much enjoyed our stay. The in room coffee that is freshly ground every day is a nice touch and the rooms in general are well appointed. The hot pools are a really welcome amenity after a full day of skiing. The one thing I would caution is the specific room category of the STUDIO CONDO. The hotel has very few of those and they are located in an "endcap" location of some buildings on the ground floor, built into the hill, on the same level as the parkade. As a result, the units are not only incredibly dark, more than the pictures would suggest, but also intolerably COLD, requiring it's in wall unit heater to fire up every five minutes or so loudly around the clock. And yet, despite all of that heating the room never gets to a normal room temperature because the tiled floor emanates the temperature from the frozen ground. As a result it is impossible to sleep in there in winter. The hotel staff is seemingly well aware of this and has been very helpful to change our booking at no charge to a Suite within a minute of complaining after a sleepless first night. That was welcome, however then leads to losing the kitchen equipment which is the whole idea of booking a Condo rather than a hotel room or Suite. Again the staff was accommodating by providing us with some dishes and a toaster so that we could make use of the food that we brought at least partially and we made the best of it.

Great location, clean spacious rooms with mountain views and helpful staff. The fireplace made the room cozy and room darkening blinds ensured good night's sleep. The toiletries and the tea selection from local brands was another plus.

Great hotel! Service was perfect… the only reason for the 4 star is the squeaky sound from the mattress pad of the bed. Every time you move it’s like you’re in a diaper. Other than that, it was perfect!

繁華街からは離れていますが、車でなら問題ないですし、バス券ももらえます。夜は徒歩で行けるレストランがいっぱいあります。ホテルの写真にあるジャグジーが良かったですが、実際に入ると小屋の屋根で山がよく見えず残念でした！部屋にバスタブがないので、毎日行きましたが。 部屋は広く快適でしたが、私たちのマウンテンビューの部屋は、斜め前の部屋が丸見えで、思っていた景色ではありませんでした。また、エアコンの音が動き出す度にゴーーっと、うるさかったです。

The hotel is very clean and the fireplace rooms is spacious and worth the extra fee in the winter for the coziness. Pay for the Mountain View or you will be facing into an entire floor of other people’s rooms. A big thank you to Ali at the front desk, he was courteous and handled our room change easier and promptly. His customer service is excellent.

This hotel exceeded all our expectations. The staff were phenomenal, the location was perfect and restaurant was superb. We would return without hesitation. 10/10!!

The only complaint I could possibly mention was the bed being noisy with the mattress protector under the sheets. Everything else about this hotel was fantastic. The facility was spotless, nothing was run down at all. Everything was up and functional as advertised. The pool area was amazing , can’t beat that view ! The decor in the room was surprisingly well put together with canoe touches throughout. The kitchenette was outfitted with quality appliances and coffee making. Hotel staff was very friendly. Hotel provided a bus pass for easy movement around town to avoid parking fees with our rental car. 10/10 would definitely stay here again! We will be back!

I was there for a conference and was put at floor 9 and a room that was smaller than the first room I was in and had to pay 70$ more. It was very inconvenient. Everyone couldn't find my name or room anytime I called because I had had two separate bookings. It was terrible service in that regard, terrible care for customers and a horrible room with many other rooms available (on a Monday). Would love for someone to rectify this because the supervisor did not care.

The hotel is very comfortable. The food at the restaurant was delicious. It’s quite a modern facility. One thing we encountered was a bit of difficulty among the staff in keeping a high quality of service. For example, the in-room coffee experience is something to be desired. My recommendation for guests is to ask the staff up front for as much coffee as you will expect to drink during your entire stay. We were without coffee in our room for an entire day because we didn’t ask for enough the day before.

Photos and reviews can sometimes be misleading, but this was not the case with Hotel Canoe. From the moment we arrived it was apparent that the hotel was in fact situated in as beautiful a setting as the on photos suggest and things only got better from there with customer service upon check-in, room finishing and thoughtful details, luxury spa/retreat-like amenities, and on-site dining options all exceeding our expectations. Simply put, an exceptional experience. Bravo to the team at Hotel Canoe & Sudden Sally! We can hardly wait to return.

The place was great, comfortable, with nice view on the mountains ! Everything was in the room to enjoy your stay (coffee maker, microwave, microfridge, compost and recycling). They even gave you free pass for the Roam bus transit while in Banff, so no parking spot to find and to pay. The only small thing is that the doors are not noise proof, so unpleasant if others talk loud or have their tv up. But overall great experience ! Thanks

Great experience at the Canoe. Convenience store and bus stop directly across the street. Hot tub was perfect with a great view of the mountains. Cinnamon rolls at Sudden Sally were amazing and a must try! Would definitely stay there again.

Great location and facilities! Mountain view from your balcany, we actually got very subtle northern lights as well.

The property seemed recently renovated. Our shower curtains were brand new. They were putting a fresh coat of sealant on the natural wood trim. Happy hour prices were great, as was the food in the restaurant. Close walk to town.

Our stay was amazing! Cafe downstairs was great and the hot tub was so nice. The hotel is located at end of the strip but they give you a free bus pass which was amazing

Hermoso hotel con vista a la montaña, te dan un pase para el autobús que te lleva al centro, la parada está frente al hotel y es gratuito. Excelente experiencia

A beautiful hotel, located at the very end of Banff Avenue. The Canoe supply free tickets to use the Roam bus service, which can take you to various locations around the area, including Banff town centre and Sulphur Mountain, to name but a few. This is a really good idea, as we just left our hire car in the hotel underground car park, and used public transport throughout our stay. The check-in staff at the hotel were great. Very pleasant and helpful, even giving us fresh ground coffee to use in our room. Our room, on the fourth floor was very spacious, with a lovely bathroom and a powerful shower. Toiletries were supplied by Rocky Mountain, a local company. We both loved our stay at the Hotel Canoe and Suites, and would love to stay here again! One suggestion I have, is that the lights in the corridors outside the rooms, be dimmed in the evening, as they are very bright. I think some guests forgot that it was late, due to the brightness and we were disturbed a couple of times during the night by talking in the corridor. More down to the guests than the hotel, but just a thought! Thanks again to the Hotel Canoe for making our stay so enjoyable!

Location is good, convenient for going to different locations. Local transportation stop is right in front of the property.

Very comfortable room with an amazing view; nice kitchenette, appreciated the coffee and tea offerings. The coffee shop was wonderful; would have enjoyed more menu choices in the restaurant. Sadly can't recommend the beef stroganoff, it was truly awful; but all other meals were fine. We loved the location, as we got a good walk in each day to the downtown area and Bow River Trail, and a Roam bus stop is across the street. Every associate was incredibly friendly and helpful.

I travel a lot for work and have stayed in hotels all over the globe for over 20 years. Few hotels have GOOD pillows to sleep with. This place has GOOD pillows. Not many hotels do this in North America, everywhere else has it right. Room and its amenities were very nice, the complimentary coffee and tea you gave me for the room was fantastic, not awful like Holiday inn. Your outdoor hot pool was the best to enjoy from a long drive. I also liked your awesome restaurant for breakfast and lunch. I will definitely be back again.

This hotel was fantastic! Right on the edge of town, but completely walkable and they offer you a free roam bus pass to use. The onsite restaurant and cafe was beyond fabulous. Rooms are spacious, clean and well designed! We used the hot pools daily as well as the outdoor firepit. Views of the mountain range are spectacular.

The staff were all very nice and helpful! The hotel property is beautiful, modern, clean, and cozy. Ample parking was available, we never had any issues. One of the main reasons we selected this hotel was because of the rooftop heated pool and hot tub - it was worth it! The views were gorgeous and it was so relaxing. Also loved that they had board games - you just need to ask for them at the front desk. The bus access was right outside across the street, and the hotel provides bus tickets for your stay. The rooms also had a great view, and were very clean. The only negative thing I can think of is that I wish the bed sheets were softer. They felt kind of rough and not very cozy. The thermostat in the room was easily adjustable and worked quickly to heat up or cool down the room. My only other wish is that the TVs had access to streaming services. It appeared that you can only see live local TV. Besides those minor things, I would 100% stay here again! The hotel restaurant was also very good! We had breakfast there once during our stay and all 6 of us enjoyed the meal very much. The coffee bar was also very convenient and we all made a habit of getting lattes as we were leaving/entering the property.

This was our second time staying here in the last 2 months. We love it! This time we tried the restaurant onsite - Sudden Sally and it was the best breakfast we've had in Banff! Excited to try the happy hour next time as it came highly recommended from other people around town. Definitely will stay here again!

Unbelievable from the moment we walked into the lobby, to when we had breakfast the morning before checking out. The plants all around that gave a homey feel, the cleanliness of whole property was so nice to see. Having Fresh coffee in the morning, a heated pool just down the hall was what I picture luxury. This was a real vacation, with amazing food, company and environment.
