This is now our third visit to this hotel and it is our go-to hotel in Basingstoke. You cannot ask for more helpful, kindly and welcoming staff. They always go the extra mile. Professional, pro-active, engaged with our needs. Great location on the outer ring road, conveniently located for snacking outlets (M & S food, Asda) offering great picnic food. Rooms are clean, well-lit and well designed. Good sound insulation between rooms, excellent sound insulation from the outside, so zero traffic noise. Offsite fitness facilities, pleasant restaurant and upstairs lounge. Great breakfasts. I enjoyed an excellent grilled salmon and salad, my husband had a great steak. Thank you everyone for being so kind and helpful again.

This was the final stay for our trip and it was a nice closure. The staff was friendly and the room was quite comfortable and spacious. The shower was an improvement over some of the other places we stayed as well. There was plenty of free onsite parking and it didn't feel overcrowded. Not the fanciest place, but it was everything we expected from a budget hotel chain and we'd stay again if we were in the area.

We chose this area as it’s close to Heathrow and the perfect launching place for our touring holiday in England. This Holiday Inn is clean and comfortable and the staff are very friendly. On arrival we grabbed a snack in the bar before retiring for the night. Breakfast in the morning was a full English breakfast to help us start the day. Car park is included and there were plenty of spots. Ask for a ground floor room if you don’t want to lug suitcases up the stairs! Good linen in the room with everything you need at hand. No USB charging in the room but plenty in the common area.

Limited parking. Bar isn’t open late. No lift but only ground & first floor building anyway. 2 of the 4 pillows were lumpy. However, it was clean, the staff were lovely, breakfast was ok, location was convenient. I would stay again if the price was right!

A warm welcome when we arrived late after delays on the road. The parking was tight as like a lot of car parks the spaces are not wide enough for a lot of today’s larger vehicles (ours is only average).

The hotel is looking very tiered, there are no showers and disabled amenities in the rooms are limited, Wife had broken leg 4 weeks before we were due to stay but the only rooms that would suit us as no lift was ground floor, we have stayed here about four times in the last ten years, but this will be our last as the accommodation & prices don’t reflect any investment.

Good location. Free parking. Very friendly staff. Lack of heating in the room. Radiators wouldnt turn on and air system was useless. The room was cold. Room a little tired Bed was uncomfortable. Mattress needs changing as the edges were lumpy and you rolled back into the middle of the bed. Duvet & sheets were soft and warm. Room was dusty in parts. Room not hoovered properly & i found several maltesers around the bed. Obviously from previous occupier. Tv was a good size. I've stayed in this hotel a few times and its always been fine. This was a disappointing stay this time. Glad only 1 nightas not sure i could have stayed a 2nd night.

Comfortable and lovely staff. Ground floor room which suited my mobility. The room was clean and airy, but sadly the bathroom could have used a bit more cleaning! (The lower toilet bowl was stained, and I don't think anyone had cleaned the bathroom door in some time! It was splashed and grubby.)

Room was comfortable and well appointed, there was a cheese biscuit on the floor when we got there, this was still there when we left even though cleaners came in on 2nd day, so cleaning not up to scratch. 1st breakfast experience was so bad we cancelled 2nd day. We arrived to see one table of 4 in use and every other table was dirty, we found the least dirty one and cleared it ourselves, no teaspoons, tea plates, bread, we were there 30 mins 2 other people came in and had to clear own tables, awful experience.

good, clean hotel, our room was beautiful and very large for a family of 4. we had a double and 2 sofa beds. Unfortunately one of the beds was very bumpy and uncomfy so my son chose to put mattress on the floor where he discovered the mattress to be really thin and he did not get the best nights sleep (this was not reported to reception as it was late at night, I'm sure they would have helped if they were informed) The staff at this hotel were incredibly helpful, friendly, kind and professional. The food was delicious and fairly priced. location for us was perfect as we booked the hotel for a half way point on our journey. It was a pleasure to stay here and we would definitely stay again and recommend it.

Air conditioning unit leaking water in first room so was relocated. The only room they had left had an air conditioning fault so room only had a fan. The room temperature was in excess of 30 degrees so had a bad nights sleep. Staff were very apologetic.

Choose a hotel with aircon. Our room wasn't working and had a plug-in fan and a heater (so clearly a known issue). Window barley opened so on one of the hottest days it was like a furnace. Got no sleep. Kept awake by heat, fan noise, and noise and light from outside given we could not close the wooden blinds. Had to phone reception at 3am (!!) to ask them to request the car outside playing music and shining lights into our room to leave. 2nd night we got moved to a different room. Totally different experience to actually get what we paid for and be able to sleep. Even though hotel is very tired and needs updating, it can be forgiven if you are actually comfortable and able to sleep.

We had a brilliant 2 night stay here. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating especially Alex who went out of his way to cater for our needs. He was kind and compassionate. Also, Sikandar made sure we had a smooth stay :)

Stayed here many times before but on this occasion, my stay was ruined by firstly an “elephant” like person in the room above mine who stomped around loudly until the early hours of the night, which was then topped off by the staff who decided to use the fire exit next to my room to have a smoke and the loudest chat whilst coming in and out slamming the door each time, reported to reception who could only apologise.

You have a sign saying i should inform staff if im not having a 10/10 experience, i did this twice and in both onstances there was nothing the staff did to either resolve my issue, or to compensate me for the issue

We had to cancel our booking because our flight has been delayed arrived too late at gatwick to take our rental car. We had no way to go down to the hotel and the hotel refused the refund and did not even propose to use the night another time or in another holiday inn. Not commercial !!!!

The carpet in the corridors are so old and are in need of change! It’s a poor look! My experience at the lounge restaurant was not good but the managers manner was exceptional to overcome the issues. He was to be highly respected and commended for the way he dealt with a few issues we were encountering.

This is now our third visit to this hotel and it is our go-to hotel in Basingstoke. You cannot ask for more helpful, kindly and welcoming staff. They always go the extra mile. Professional, pro-active, engaged with our needs. Great location on the outer ring road, conveniently located for snacking outlets (M & S food, Asda) offering great picnic food. Rooms are clean, well-lit and well designed. Good sound insulation between rooms, excellent sound insulation from the outside, so zero traffic noise. Offsite fitness facilities, pleasant restaurant and upstairs lounge. Great breakfasts. I enjoyed an excellent grilled salmon and salad, my husband had a great steak. Thank you everyone for being so kind and helpful again.

We chose this area as it’s close to Heathrow and the perfect launching place for our touring holiday in England. This Holiday Inn is clean and comfortable and the staff are very friendly. On arrival we grabbed a snack in the bar before retiring for the night. Breakfast in the morning was a full English breakfast to help us start the day. Car park is included and there were plenty of spots. Ask for a ground floor room if you don’t want to lug suitcases up the stairs! Good linen in the room with everything you need at hand. No USB charging in the room but plenty in the common area.

Room was comfortable and well appointed, there was a cheese biscuit on the floor when we got there, this was still there when we left even though cleaners came in on 2nd day, so cleaning not up to scratch. 1st breakfast experience was so bad we cancelled 2nd day. We arrived to see one table of 4 in use and every other table was dirty, we found the least dirty one and cleared it ourselves, no teaspoons, tea plates, bread, we were there 30 mins 2 other people came in and had to clear own tables, awful experience.

We arrived on a very cold day, quite cold from travelling. The hotel was not that warm in the reception or bar area. No heating was on in our room, and it took a long time to start to warm up. it was a guaranteed booking, and even if we had not turned up we would have paid. Since it was one of the coldest days ( so far) of the winter, someone could have put the heating on. The bathroom was a disaster - only a small towel rail to heat it, and 3 outside walls plus an outside vented extractor. Totally impossible to bath, or shower as very cold. We made a complaint and are awaiting a result. no doubt for most nights it would have been acceptable, but with ice everywhere, a bit more thought would have made things so much better. Food in the evening pretty dire - tinned soup and a roll with no butter - really for £6? I will not stay in Holiday Inns again, although my past experiences have all been good ,

The hotel was in a great place for us as we were visiting friends. The room was clean and everything was good for my disabled husband. We had breakfast both morning and the food was good even offering to cook fried or poached eggs fresh. Sumira was the waitress and she was very attentive and friendly. Kate was in reception when we checked out and she also was very friendly and helpful. All in all a good experience will be returning.

good, clean hotel, our room was beautiful and very large for a family of 4. we had a double and 2 sofa beds. Unfortunately one of the beds was very bumpy and uncomfy so my son chose to put mattress on the floor where he discovered the mattress to be really thin and he did not get the best nights sleep (this was not reported to reception as it was late at night, I'm sure they would have helped if they were informed) The staff at this hotel were incredibly helpful, friendly, kind and professional. The food was delicious and fairly priced. location for us was perfect as we booked the hotel for a half way point on our journey. It was a pleasure to stay here and we would definitely stay again and recommend it.

We reserved two accessible rooms which were excellent, both had A/C (as it was very hot in the June heatwave ) We had a lovely evening meal and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Called at 10:56pm, 10:57pm, 10:58pm, 10:59pm no answer Called again at 12:57am and got the desk. I told the nightworker that we would be checking in at 2am after a 4 hour drive. He told me at that point that the aircon was broken, and eventually agreed to give us a 50% refund on our room. He made a note to pass to the morning team. The room was uncomfortably hot, but we got to sleep around 3am. In the morning at 8:30am, power tools and loud banging in a neighbouring room startled us awake. Rooms were being renovated. I went to reception and the woman on the desk claimed that she couldn't do anything. Had we been told that the air-con was broken ahead of time, we would have made alternative hotel arrangements. Had we been told at our 2am check-in that there were room renovations being done from 8:30am, then we could have at least tried to get some ear plugs to deal with the noise. We are touring orchestral performers and this lack of rest will really make our work that much more difficult. I want a full refund.
