Check in was great. Staff v helpful. Rooms were v nice - decent decor and style was good, bathroom had heated mirror, which was nice for after showering. Staff in the evening were helpful and got us sorted with a taxi for the next morning. However, the pool (and gym) closed at 6pm on Sunday evening - I think clarity of this e.g. Email prior to booking confirmation, would be good, as we were disappointed. Also, on check out, the person on the desk seemed to have trouble with the computer system and tried to get me to pay a second time. The staff member was unpleasant to deal with - a shame as the others (including breakfast staff) seemed v nice and helpful.

Easy parking and easy option for a mid-week stay. Asked for a quiet room and it was very good except for the radiator which constantly hissed, fortunately it was easy to turn it off. We paid extra for the mini bar which didn't include any snacks but we did make use of the Nespresso machine. Breakfast buffet was fine but no specific provision for vegans/ vegetarians so I probably wouldn't purchase it next time. Unfortunately, the EV charger is no longer there even though it shows on Google Maps, which was disappointing.

Lovely day. The room was actually a really lovely temperature overnight, but the duvets for the time of year were very heavy making it a bit hot. The cleanliness of the adult pool could’ve been better as there was a lot of sand and unusual odour. Generally good stay with lovely breakfast service.

First want to say a shout out for Dylan and Mariene and another Gentleman., They couldn’t be any more helpful if they tried.. they saw to my every want and need we had and they met ever challenge with a smile as it wasn’t a problem. Marilynne (house cleaning, I think that was her name) was wonderful She tied the room up at the extras we asked for and couldn’t do more to help us. Facilities are amazing two swimming pools, one for children Rooms are clean & tidy.. But obviously what the facilities in each offers you.. the ones in our room was amazing..

The room was nice, but cold was only one heater on the wall. It was working well, but the room was too big to heat it. There was a towel heater in the bathroom eventually started working, and we had to get another portable heater from the reception. But after that, the room was good. The staff were very friendly, swimming pool and sauna was good. Unfortunately, steam room out of order. And unfortunately, about 80% of the lockers didn't work for the 4 star hotel. I Wasn't to impressed , in the bar, the staff were very friendly. The food wasn't up to much. And unfortunately, when we ordered a salad, it was definitely not that good. It was a Caesar's salad, but most of it were chunks of hard bread supposedly should have been croutons over half the plate Was full of this bread And there were very little bits of salad leaves underneath and the gammon meat was hard as a rock, unfortunately, the drink selection wasn't up to much. The guiness did not taste nice. And the fridges had very little in them , apart from things like. Mayonnaise and ketchup , so £57 for 2 drinks and those 2 meals That didn't taste very nice, unfortunately We did complain, but they weren't bothered. (A very cold Hotel and very loud, you could hear your neighbours.)

Very very dirty and rundown, Q Hotels need to do something about the state of disrepair. Staff are trying but they clearly haven't been trained. Glasses, cutlery, bathrooms, pool - all really unclean. Brown slime on the walls of pool. They don't even have the correct glasses for drinks. Breakfast wasn't nice at all, they could easily improve this with a better continental and better quality produce. The tables at breakfast were all filthy, food on floor too. Kids swimming lessons in the pool and spa - even in the adult only pool. It's no problem having kids lessons on, it would just be nice to know or to have a pool that's kept separate. Wanted water when waiting at the bar - gave up because each glass was so dirty in the bar area. Positive - changing rooms at pool are nice. Outdoor courtyard is awful, they don't even have table and chairs and the furniture is falling apart. Dirty dishes left out the next day until lunchtime from the night before. Air conditioning broken - the hotel is absolutely roasting. Beds uncomfortable. Menu in bar isn't great, in restaurant it's fine but nothing brilliant. Service was poor. Restaurant overlooks tennis courts, it's not a nice space for a meal. The app won't let me upload images for some reason (upload button won't work). Very unclean. If they spent some money on the courtyard and fixed the broken decking and weeds everywhere and actually got some furniture, it would make the place a bit more pleasant.

The hotel and room were nice however our bathroom smelled strongly of urine and the floor was sticky. The hot drink amenities had not been replenished prior to us checking in so it made us question if the room was properly serviced. We did raise the bathroom issue at the time and it was cleaned but the smell remained.

One of our rooms still had a discarded pizza box from a previous user still with food in it. Communal toilets are very old and battered. Some of the rooms we couldn't open the balcony doors. The restaurant staff gave the feeling that they didn't want to be there. The rooms, food and facilities from a comfort point of view are excellent and the reception chap we booked in with was absolutely brilliant and very helpful. Would stay again.

we stayed here twice now 1st room was o k shower needed some work 2nd time was in a different room shower the same as the 1st room needed work but the worst thing was the carpets in both rooms they were to put it nicely very dirty and needed replacing there were stains on them buy a vax and get them cleaned not sure i would stay again staff very good

Close to the function we went, all good, central, friendly staff and in ok conditions, free parking, easy check-in, clean and spacious...For the price of >£225 for one night, we would have expected more. breakfast ends 10:30, checkout 11:00, fees for everything, no A/C, 32 degrees, fan hardly working. not again for this price.

Quality of room seems to depend on where in the hotel you are situated - previously stayed in rm 109 which was excellent, air conditioned with a great shower, this time in rm 190 which felt really tired with no aircon and a poor. Still clean and well equipped, would just opt for the other side of the hotel in future.

There were 2 Christmas parties the night of our stay in the hotel which would have been nice to have been made aware of when booking the room. Equally it would have been nice to have been given a room which wasn't right above one of the parties. Mattress was hard and could feel the join where 2 maytresses had been connected to make a kind size bed.

I stay here regularly. The rooms I'm allocated are starting to look tired and i need of work. The recent room had no air conditioning!! It backed onto the Tesco store at the back, who had a trailer running with the refrigerator running. I will change to the Village Hotel in Basingstoke.

Staying often in the Hampshire Court every visit has staff which give excellent customer service. Nothing is too much trouble from reception to dining and bar!

Overall disappointing. Check in we were asked to pay even though we had already done do. Room was a disabled twin and not the standard double asked for. Swimming pool in need of care and cleaning. There were damaged areas covered with chair and a dirty greasy tide mark all around the pool. The drinks in the bar were extremely overpriced eg £8 for a single shot of spirit. We ordered a drink at 10.10pm and were told it would be our only drink as they were closing even though the bar was meant to be open to 11pm When we eventually got the drinks the lemonade and coke was flat. It took another 15 minutes to get these replaced Breakfast was okay.

Good overall, unfortunately there were issues with the remote which for the first hour of my stay left me without access to the tv. I arrived very late in the evening so this wasn’t ideal. The staff were polite and professional and the overall standard of the hotel was high

We had a great stay and would like to give a special mention to Dylan at reception who was incredibly helpful. We checked in late in the evening and noticed there was quite a bit of noise from guests across the hallway, going in and out of each others rooms. We went down to reception and explained the situation and Dylan managed to move my husband and I to a quieter area with no issues. Bed was very comfortable and staff were friendly and accommodating. Lots of parking available as well.

Excellent location, with the most friendly and professional staff. Staff were very accommodating and made me feel special during my 1 night 2 day stay. This would be my first choice of hotel if I needed to stay in Basingstoke again. A truly lovely experience.

Was booked in for 3 nights but patio door wouldn’t close with no heating in room. Was told I had to pay extra if I wanted to move rooms so checked out after one night. On checking my credit card statement they have charged me for the full 3 nights and will not return my calls or messages

It seems there was a shortage of staff, with some staff possibly new to the job during our stay. Meal one, I had a fork missing, and drink spilt, day two I had a knife missing and some chips were knocked onto the floor. Two members of staff ran the breakfast area with every table full. I felt for the poor employees, but at the same time we did not get served tea / coffee and the tables took a while before they were cleaned for the next guests. The courtyard was weedy, and overgrown and not looking at all pleasant. There was a sign offering apologies for this, but it looked like it had been like this for months, so that goes down to poor management and administration. The room was really lovely, except the tea / coffee sweetener etc was not replenished for the next day. Such a shame as the hotel seemed such promise, and I am sure we caught it during a bad period.

Staff are amazing. Great service and very helpful and friendly. Rooms are well presented and air con was nice. The steak dinner was terrible. Cheese salad had no cheese, it seemed to have been substituted with an enormity of raw tomato which was covered everything. I was very disappointed as I can not eat tomato. So I could not eat my salad or the chips. The steak itself was so tough I struggled to saw through it with the knife. extremely chewy and went from overly well done on the edges to bleeding and completely raw in the centre. It was already overpriced to begin with but I literally only got to eat the onion rings and a few chips. None of the cocktails on the menu were available and the bar closed very early for a hotel. The breakfast was very good. Everything was hot and good quality (except the fried egg for some reason). I would highly recommend this hotel, definitely would not use Hotels.com though. Extremely poor customer service, terrible app that barely works and the agents lied to me several times whilst trying to resolve a problem caused by the app(which cost me over £100 that was never rectified). Told me they were calling the hotel but no one was answering, a staff member and myself waited by the phone but no one called until I asked them several times to try again. Told me there were no rooms available to swap my booking, I then proceeded to book a room through the app so that wasn't true either. I would stay again.

Clean room. Hotel definitely not 4star. No food after 9.30pm or room service. I had been traveling for 10 hours and arrived at 10pm. No heating on in room and window open I left 33degrees in the sun. Water in the room no glasses to drink out off. Can’t switch bedside lights off from your bed Staff helpful but couldn’t do anything definitely would not stay there again. These are the obvious issues but it gives you an overall impression.

It was okay. Food choices are not great in the restaurant/bar. Some senior staff members should remember they chose to work with the public and not be so miserable… 3 days in a row I experienced this.
