Much appreciate the care during check-in, and that the parking is easy and secure. A wonderful historic building, excellent food (fine dining and bar). Recommended.

Stayed at the Carrington again for a couple of nights. . .what a gem. It’s a beautiful faded lady with exquisite art deco public areas which are just delightful to be in -whether it’s the bar, the grand dining room or the tearoom. What a change from a bland chain hotel. Staff are great (the bar staff lack charisma) and the rooms are large but simple, ours was warm and stuffy and we couldn’t open the windows as they have been painted over (a small fix for your maintenance team). The hotel website boasts an al la carte breakfast but it doesn’t exist, just a pricey second rate buffet. Tip, pop over the road to the Tempus cafe for a great breakfast for half the price. Overall a great experience.

A beautiful property in a beautiful setting - the gardens are gorgeous. We appreciated the EV charging station. We really enjoyed our stay One very minor issue - they didn't accept electronic credit card imprint upon check-in - only plastic.

Excellent hotel, full of character and with a great staff team. Very nice cocktail bar and billiard room for those rainy evenings.

Beautiful old world charm rooms. So many sitting areas where you can have lunch/coffee or an afternoon drink with a fully stocked bar.

Great heritage hotel in Katoomba. Desk staff were great. Hotel is a window into past stately properties and has been renovated well. Room was well appointed but the mold around window frame in bathroom and the broken shelf in shower were disappointing. Bed was far too soft and clearly past its prime. Trash bin in bathroom was annoyingly small but the good sized trash & recycling bins in the main bedroom helped. Included parking in the garage was a great benefit.

This is a beautiful place to stay. We stayed here for 2 nights as a final destination after doing a road trip for 12 days. It was lovely just to sit on the verandah and relax with a book and a nice drink. The only thing i would probably say is that they kept the heating on in the hotel all day and night, i know this is a really big old hotel that may get cold in winter but it was so hot and stuffy. We had to have the air con going in our room all the time just to feel some coolness. But that was my only negatively about this great place.

A gem of an historic hotel. Loved the architecture, the style, the creaky staircase, the facilities. One of my all time favourite hotels.

We enjoyed our stay, delightful view from our windows out over the valley. Although the bed was a bit soft the room was clean and the bathroom lovely.

Really nice stay! A charming hotel, lovely guest areas available throughout. The room was spacious and tidy, very comfortable. Bathrooms are progressively being refreshed, looking forward to seeing what they do with them! Will stay again for sure.

The hotel is beautiful! is a wonderful historical place. The ceiling and the windows were stunning. The front desk people was really nice and friendly not as much the one providing the breakfast in the morning. One of the staff was quiet rude, no good morning, no good bye just cranky face during the complete time we were at the table making us really uncomfortable. Was too early in the morning for that kind of energy. The room was ok, bed wasn’t the most comfortable, pillows smell like “dust” a little bit but could be the softener (not sure) and in the toilet one set of toiletries for 2 people, not enough.

Perfect position and checking in was delightful and very accomodating . Sadly in the morning after my shower i discovered soiled ingrained stains on the buttock area of the robe I found in the dresser. Not fresh , the robe had been well laundered to the state of feeling like sandpaper. So maybe new robes are needed Then later that morning after having breakfast off site i was profiled and told to F off by the GM After he assumed I wasn’t a guest ,informing me the car park was only for hotel guests. He then argued with me aggressively Before swearing at me . I then walked back to reception and heard him relating a completely false account of the incident to his staff , hearing him say “that’s him “ as he went into another room No longer feeling safe i checked out a day early This form of aggression and bigotry was not expected from the hospitality industry in 2022 and is a very bad look for this once grand hotel . Disability access and functional use of this premises is poor verging on dangerous Not LGBTQ friendly managment

We enjoyed our stay at the Carrington - beautiful and spotlessly cleaned room and bathroom, very comfortable bed, complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits. We also enjoyed a lovely dinner at the hotel restaurant - delicious food and fantastic service. Thank you.

The Carrington is conveniently located in the centre of Katoomba & makes it easy to access the main shopping area. However, the hotel is past its glory days and is tired & in need of a refresh. The bed was overly soft & the chairs were uncomfortable. Disappointing experience overall.

Convenient location, located across the street from the train station. The sightseeing bus stop was right in front of the hotel. The unique historical features of the property were well-preserved and maintained. The room could benefit from a refresh, but it was still clean and in good working order. Great views from the room. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great place to stay overall.

Lovely old world charm in the Blue Mountains. Always like to begin with the positives. Decent size rooms with high ceilings and clean throughout. Location is an easy 5 minute walk from the railway station and the local bus stops in front of the hotel. The lounge and bar areas ooze charm and a continental breakfast is included. Many rooms are not air-conditioned and the window opens about 200mm. No ceiling fans so some people will be challenged with the summer heat.Some of the staff would rather be elsewhere and it shows. We thought some local newspapers would be a nice touch in the foyer and maybe include specialty coffee's with breakfast.

A beautiful hotel with all the character features. Particular details have been prioritized to the public/common areas. We stayed 3 nights midweek in a standard room with ensuite. Large and comfortable room. Squeaky floors, a thin adjoining room door, rattling windows in the wind and (our room being) close to the train line, meant for a disrupted sleep. We managed of course, but maybe somethings to take into consideration. Our stay included (continental) breakfast, though probably best to get to breakfast before 8:30am (ends at 10am) as the staff do not replenish the food on offer and maybe understaffed, to clear tables. We enjoyed dinner (2 courses) which was delicious and plentiful, with accompanying pianist was divine. Staff attentive, and most seemed to be in training. Devonshire tea was lovely, and popular. The scones were perfect! Waiting 25 minutes for the pot of tea (including a follow up) was unexpected. We noticed we weren't the only ones waiting on the tea (and following it up). Bar staff were short staffed, in our opinion, as drinks were ordered and slow to be served, even while standing at the bar. We did order coffees and other hot (nonalcoholic) drinks but they were not hot by the time they arrived. Maybe the barista was not available or again they were short staffed. Onsite liquor shop was a great find! Overall, we've wanted to stay in this beautiful hotel for many years, and finally when we were able to, we were glad we did. It will be a once off.

Great central location with exceptional service in all areas. They were a great team who were always welcoming and friendly. We have stayed here before and definitely will be staying again.

The Carrington is walking distance from the train and close to everything in Kootomba. The hotel is historic, which means old and needs a bit of a facelift. Some of the staff was outstanding like Shelia, others were just ok. We enjoyed the adjoining restaurant with great food and live music. We even had walked around Scienic World. Overall a good stay 3 Star property that’s very well located.

The Hotel is a grand building but whilst the staff did their best to provide a good service, the overall feeling was one of cost cutting being in place. The continental breakfast has been replaced by a 'High Breakfast' where every bit of food provided was in controlled portions. Staff appeared to be under pressure and to not be able to enjoy their job which suggests to me some management issues. Despite that two of the main reception staff were excellent and one of the breakfast waiters provided a good service. The impression is that the hotel prefers to host events and functions as opposed to having paying guests.

Friendly and informative staff. It's a beautiful building which gives you an experience of yesteryear. The rooms are large and well appointed. Walking distance to restaurants and shops.

The Carrington is a wonderful, luxurious step back in time and the staff go above and beyond. I left something behind and the duty manager dropped it off to my home on his day off. You don't get service like that anywhere these days! I am so grateful. Thank you! I will definitely be back!!

The hotel was lovely and going back to that Victorian bygone era was a wonderful experience. It was sad that on pur first night the fire alarm went off at 2:30 am and we had to venture out into very cold weather we were there in July. A disappointment was that we weren't informed that to compensate for the trouble the hotel coffered free breakfast to the guests affected. We only found out because we decided to have breakfast at the hotel after our second night check out when they told us the breakfast was on the house due to the inconvenience. Had we not decided to have breakfast at the hotel that morning we wouldn't have been the wiser.

The noise from the floor boards are very loud from people above when walking. Buffet Breakfast very minimal for $30 p/p and wanted to charge an extra $5 to cook fried eggs! Also the breakfast staff need to smile, they looked miserable. Very disappointed!

The hotel is wonderful with good service by all staff members. The location is excellent as it is walking distance to all the shops. The breakfast and entrees were lovely but the mains were disappointing. The duck was tough with inedible tough stringy greens. We found to our dismay a number of small bones in the brisket. We certainly would love to re-visit but not to dine.

Had a meal in the restaurant with my wife,it was a two course meal for $75 each and we were very disappointed We both had very small portions with no vegetables only a small leaf of something and we both felt like more food. Don't mind the cost,but should have at least felt full. My advice , don't eat there.

I always stay at the Carrington when in Katoomba, so much history, rooms are comfortable & Champagne Charlie’s is a great place to enjoy a red wine in front of the fireplace. My only criticism is that you can’t get anything to eat after 4.30pm and the Grand Dining Restaurant is closed Sunday, Monday & Tuesday.

If you are after charm and nostalgia this has it in bucket loads. Dinner in the grand dining room was definitely a highlight.

Food in the dining room and the Old Bank was good. Breakfast was average.

Gorgeous heritage building surrounded by grass and garden. Outsdide seating under large shady trees was a blessing on a hot day. The Continental breakfast in the heritage Dining Room was well presented and delicious.

Dining room was closed while there.

I had dinner at the Brasserie and enjoyed both meals there
