Was a great stay had a sea view and definitely worth it room was ok bed comfortable and bathroom had a shower Had food in both restaurants in the hotel Italian upstairs and set menu downstairs which changes daily and we also wemt next door to there other hotel (they have 3 hotels next door to rach other )and had pub food and all was lovely We used the indoor pool and sauna in next door hotel as thid one only had outdoor pool and that was ok Staff are all very polite and made us feel welcome Would definitely stay again Lovely walk down onto beach and walked into town area

Lovely old seafront hotel, but lacking investment inside. Lift broken and with our room on third floor no offer of assistance with bags. Fire door not fitting frame on 2nd floor, generally tired appearance and dark colour scheme. Bath rusted around plug hole. But bed comfortable and hotel in excellent location. Watch out for high dog charge per night, plus parking charges unless you book direct. Would not stay here again.

Staff were great on the booking forum i booked bed and breakfast also parking and a disabled room so i book your hotel as it came has having what i was looking for so paid before I arrived. When i arrived i was told parking was an extra 24 pounds . The kitchen was closed and the room was not disability friendly the only saving grace was the Seaview very disappointed

Unfortunately the hotel car park was full on arrival, so had to pay £21 to park on the road. One of my wing mirror's ( adjacent to the pavement) was deliberately smashed overnight. I did manage to park in the hotel car park on Saturday, however I will not risk coming back to the hotel again. The incident spoilt the weekend.

Use of pool,large bedroom, use of other sister hotels, on hill above beach & views,,not like carpet in room stains ,reseptsionist chatting in other guest's conversations instead of dealing properly with guest they are dealing with, service very slow pool very unkempt needs cleaning & maintenance around areas, sister hotel people leaving towels on loungers All day without using around pool,not allowed to move loungers around to be near to friend when 2 empty ones did finally come available

We paid £285 for 2 nights, we had to pay additional parking, but we weren’t guaranteed a parking space unfortunately. I paid £60 for 2 meals that were probably a 4/10. And waited an hour for them. After notifying the management, they offered us a late checkout, which we kindly accepted, and spent the morning around the pool again.The poolside furniture desperately needs replacing, as I nearly went through a lounger. There was a few loose paving stones also. This hotel has a lot of appeal, but needs some money spent on it to fill it’s potential. We used the adjacent hotel’s facilities, which were spot on. I can’t complain for the money I spent, As it was over a bank holiday. I would return too, but will directly book with them, as the parking is free. Thanks for having us.

The hotel is at the perfect spot to go to the beach. The breakfast was cooked nicely. The rooms were dirty, leaking and mouldy. The beds were lumpy. We went as a large group of 14 adults.

Its not the worst hotel in the world for 3 star but the staff can be tricky, some are ok but some are a nightmare. The food is terrible and very overpriced, service is extremely slow and we actually had upset tummies after eating dinner in the hotel. Thankfully there are other places to eat in the town centre which is a 20 min walk away. Everything felt sticky, tables and chairs. The place needs a really good deep clean. Its located in a decent setting not far from the beach. Twin room was very small and dated but reasonably clean. Plumbing was noisy throughout the night. We didnt sleep well. Paid 170 for two night stay in August which isnt bad. Wish i had soent a bit more on a nicer place though in hindsight.

The room was very disgusting. The floor had something sharp and poked the children’s feet. The beds were smelly and causing everyone to itch, we did call to tell them this but they come in the morning to change which was not good especially when we arrived at 14:00 on the check in day. Bathrooms were not clean and when asked for them to be cleaned the room attendant came and just went over it with a dry cloth very briefly.

The room was absolutely boiling hot so we barely slept. The room also really needed some updating, it was very run down. Our room was not cleaned for any of the days we stayed (4 days, 3 nights in total). The reception staff were not particuarly helpful with getting us fresh towels etc after our room was not cleaned. For the price, it was not worth the stay.

We had stains all over the walls, fire alarm went of at 7am for 5 seconds, ‘king sized beds’ are actually two singles pushed together we have a whole in the bathroom door and hairs in the shower.

Mattress was broken, woke up multiple times with springs digging into my back or side. Finally fell back asleep on my front and woke up with indent on my chest. Hotel is a nice, staff friendly but by far the worst bed I’ve ever slept in.

Good location but rooms were tatty. Room was cramped, bath was badly pitted with grim sealant around the overflow. The phone was found in a wardrobe as there was no room beside the bed. Sticky backed plastic had been used to cover the furniture but was split and peeling. Asked to be moved to a better room but the overall condition of the new room was only marginally better.

Lovely staff and great location on the beach. Room was a bit stuffy and even with windows open, could not get a comfortable nights sleep. Pillows could do with being a bit more supportive. Very flat with little support.

I saw lots of negative reviews for this hotel so was very nervous about booking but we’d been let down at the last minute with the accommodation we’d booked for our weekend away so booked the Ocean hotel and hoped for the best! I have to say I was so pleasantly surprised, yes the outside is a bit tired but the reception and bar area are lovely, the staff are friendly and helpful and the room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, it had everything we needed, even a fan and heater in the wardrobe for hot/cold weather, beds were really comfortable and it was much quieter than I expected it to be, we had a stunning sea view too, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again

Overall, the Ocean Beach Hotel provides good value for money, except for the high daily parking charge for residents. The reception, restaurant and house keeping staff we interacted with were all polite, helpful and efficient. Our room rate included breakfast and dinner. The food was very good generally and especially the fish dishes, although a few dishes had a tad too much garlic and we had a fire breathing chilli con carne one evening. Use of the facilities in the neighbouring Suncliff and Cumberland hotels is a good point. We stayed in a room which had been refurbished (it was not clear how long ago). However, the standard of workmanship was very poor with paint splashes on the wallpaper, headboard, mirror, tiles and switches, and most fittings were secured wonkily. These give an impression that the work was done on the cheap. Finally, the radiators in the third floor corridors were on throughout our stay which made them and the rooms very warm most of the time. Ours had a large desk fan to help cool it. Our expectations of the hotel were not high but we would probably stay there again given the good value it provides and pleasant staff.

I only stayed for about an hour before checking back out again. Hotel didn’t think it necessary to let a single woman staying alone know that there was a big wedding at the venue. The noise was ridiculous and had I even wanted to eat in the restaurant, I wouldn’t have been able to as it was full of rowdy wedding guests at the bar. My room backed onto the bar and was next to the ladies cloakroom. When I approached reception to ask why I wasn’t made aware of this, I was greeted with a very rude man who just pointed to a sign in the foyer warning people there would be noise that night. Not sure how I was meant to read that before my arrival, but hey ho. He was so rude that I walked out in tears and had to check into another hotel. The whole experience was horrendous. The numerous wedding guests also made it impossible to park in the hotel car park so I had to pay extra for parking (which was also wasted as I left).

My friend and I went from Monday -Friday. On arriving the staff were lovely however got to the room and it was dark. My friend and I said if they had arranged the bedroom differently it wouldn’t have felt so dark. The heater in the bathroom was so dangerous. Also the whole hotel needed some TLC. But the staff made up for the rest of it every member of staff was lovely.

My friend and I said if they had arranged the bedroom differently it wouldn’t have felt so dark. The heater in the bathroom was so dangerous. Also the whole hotel needed some TLC. Its not the worst hotel in the world for 3 star but the staff can be tricky, some are ok but some are a nightmare. The food is terrible and very overpriced, service is extremely slow and we actually had upset tummies after eating dinner in the hotel. Thankfully there are other places to eat in the town centre which is a 20 min walk away. Everything felt sticky, tables and chairs. The place needs a really good deep clean. Its located in a decent setting not far from the beach. Twin room was very small and dated but reasonably clean. Plumbing was noisy throughout the night. We didnt sleep well. Paid 170 for two night stay in August which isnt bad. Wish i had soent a bit more on a nicer place though in hindsight.

Horrible sullen staff, room wasn’t cleaned for 3 days. Double charged my Brother, also staying. Stood at the bar for 30 minutes only to be served by a nasty, angry, incompetent person. Let’s not forget the thin postage stamp sized towels, and so much more.Don’t waste your money.

So happy. Was given a tiny roomwith a wall for a view. I requested a bit more space for my grandaughter amd was moved to a different room. Great view and more space to spread out toys. The bathroom was a bit tired, toilet roll holder broken and stains to ceili gs, bit overall good. I would like to add I expected to be right neat thr beach by the advertising. We were not expcting a windy cliff walk down. But maybe I should have doen some research. Loved thr use of the indoor pool next door.

Quaint with lovely sea view. Rooms were comfortable enough with suitable facilities. Staff were friendly and accommodating. We were very pleased we could use the indoor pool from the sister hotel next door. Breakfast was good and offered a good range. The Italian cafe also offered some good food. Beautiful beaches just 10 minute walk. Enjoyed our stay thoroughly thank you.

Fantastic weather really did make this trip! Felt like we were abroad! Hotel really good location with a short walk you get to the pier and town. Hotel rooms get quite warm at night but fans are provided.

The hotel is at the perfect spot to go to the beach. The breakfast was cooked nicely. The rooms were dirty, leaking and mouldy. The beds were lumpy. We went as a large group of 14 adults.

Property dated in areas, decor tired in bedroom May not be suitable for all location wise as about 5-10 minute walk to find local shops and although beach only about 10 minutes walk you have to go down cliff paths which have a few steps and quite steep on way up Out door pool very cold but do have use of next door hotel in door pool which was heated (although this is also dated and not the cleanest)

Excellent location on beach. Dinner service surprisingly nice. Room good, en suite very tired, but clean. Hubby couldn’t stand up in shower/bath combo as ceiling so low. Leaky window to front - reported it on check out and hotel seemed keen to get that fixed asap. Hotel had parking but had to pay hotel extra £12 for it. thought that was a bit cheeky when you could park on street easily and pay/display same amount. Fine for couple nights.

I thought the restaurant area and outdoor pool was very nice,the rooms were clean but we didn't have an ironing board or iron,the beds were okay,pillows not very comfortable but mattress was quite firm. I wasn't impressed with the breakfast for a three star hotel,a bit basic and standard,nothing particularly stood out about it or the breakfast dining area.

Overall, the Ocean Beach Hotel provides good value for money, except for the high daily parking charge for residents. The reception, restaurant and house keeping staff we interacted with were all polite, helpful and efficient. Our room rate included breakfast and dinner. The food was very good generally and especially the fish dishes, although a few dishes had a tad too much garlic and we had a fire breathing chilli con carne one evening. Use of the facilities in the neighbouring Suncliff and Cumberland hotels is a good point. We stayed in a room which had been refurbished (it was not clear how long ago). However, the standard of workmanship was very poor with paint splashes on the wallpaper, headboard, mirror, tiles and switches, and most fittings were secured wonkily. These give an impression that the work was done on the cheap. Finally, the radiators in the third floor corridors were on throughout our stay which made them and the rooms very warm most of the time. Ours had a large desk fan to help cool it. Our expectations of the hotel were not high but we would probably stay there again given the good value it provides and pleasant staff.

I wasnt expecting much as its a basic 3 star hotel. Great location and facilities available are good. Staff were not friendly but they were professional. The issues i had were my 6 year old daughter consuming out of date yoghurt and the manager saying she'll be alright its only a few days old. The yoghurt was 4 days out of date.

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I’m an electrician worked all over the country and stayed in hotels all over the country. This is the worst hotel by far. The door to the room didn’t lock. Anyone could walk in without a keycard. Was sent to the building next door for breakfast was advertised as buffet yet the whole buffet was empty and had to order yet the food was freezing cold and hard.

The picture of the reception looked nothing like the reception in real life. The spa was closed as it was too busy!! Did not find a gym in this hotel ( which was 1 reason why I picked this hotel) £18 for breakfast was very steep when I looked at what was on offer. No air con in the rooms, which I understand as it’s an old hotel, but a fan would have been a bonus especially on the hottest day of the year.

Our room was lovely and had a partial sea view but was in a nice quiet area of the hotel. It was small but the perfect size as there was only two of us. I felt the staff, overall, weren't the best, however when we arrived we were greeted by the receptionist who was very welcoming and explained everything we needed to know in regards to breakfast, car parking, etc. However, a different member of staff charged us double for breakfast (it cost £22.00 and we were charged £44.00) and, when I queried this, they told me that no money had been taken out of my account. I then showed them proof of the money being taken and one member of staff took our breakfast ticket and wouldn't let us have it back. I went to Reception later in the evening and managed to get my breakfast ticket back and, after a long battle, managed to get the extra money back. We experienced a similar situation at checkout as we were issued a bill and, when I took this to Reception, I was asked how I wanted to pay. I then asked what I was being charged for, to which the receptionist looked it up and said "Don't worry about it". With that being said, however, the staff were attentive and didn't hesitate to respond to any requests - we asked for a fan at around 22:30 and they brought it up very quickly. Breakfast in itself was good quality, but the selection was quite limited. They didn't restock any food during breakfast so we had to choose from leftovers and other than toast there were no continental options.
