Stayed here for our wedding Anniversary; the hotel and grounds are stunning! The location is incredible. The room was a little worn out and didn’t have basic amenities like air con (we went in summer) so we had a standing fan which took away from the old historic rustic feel of the room; and the TV was basic. Oddly we found the staff in person to be amazing and helpful but anytime we asked for even basic things over the phone from our room (extremely politely may I add) we were greeted with short, extremely rude and unhelpful responses. It really was strange. Would we go again, yes, but not to the hotel, just the grounds. We did message before hand we were celebrating but the hotel didn’t acknowledge or cater for this in anyway. The food for room service also arrived lukewarm and uncovered which again was odd.

Everything was perfect bit short on milk never realised till the morning, TV was very difficult to put on and off, Ball was extremely expensive for a 0 Guinness cost £7.50 we’re not in London, I just thought that it was very excessive.

A beautiful building, no air con but they did provide a fan No water in the room which was a disappointment especially given the recent hot spells Dinner was excellent Breakfast was expensive for what it was - a quality hotel should do table service for a cooked breakfast not leave things in a help yourself buffet
