Abbey Bed and Breakfast

Very good stay with a great breakfast including. Had a newly refurbished room. Tea and coffee and biscuits available in dining room.

Very convenient location with street parking. Room was small met met all the needs. Host was great and the breakfast was wonderful. Short walk to all the sites!

Great breakfast, large 2 bed room & large bathroom. Lots of on street parking , safe area. Walkable to Catholic Church. City is hilly so walking not be taken lightly. Love love Derry . We stayed extra day. Because it’s very convenient to coastal sights.

Nice place to stay. We truly enjoyed the breakfast and the access to “the kettle” all day long. Seamus, Ellie and Helen were excellent hosts.

We loved our time at the Abbey Guest house, nice room and plenty of sitting out areas. Located in an area of the city steeped in history, we enjoyed walking around the murals and the Museum of Free Derry which was very informative, we also enjoyed the city walls walk, all of which are walkable from the Guest House. Excellent breakfast that set us up for the day. Plenty of on street parking next to the Guest House. We would also recommend the Blackbird pub and Walled City Brewery for dinner and a beer or two. Thanks for making our stay in the city so enjoyable and interesting

Great check in experience. We rode in on a motorcycle and he opened his courtyard as off street parking for us. It was easy to find and central to the historic sites of Derry. Room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast ladies made us feel very welcomed and prepared a delicious custom morning meal. Great experience! Highly recommend staying here. We would come back again.

Very clean and quiet . Owners were lovely and I got a downstairs room which was great for me as I have MS although they weren’t aware of this . Would highly recommend this place

Horrible place! The place was not clean, especially the bathroom, and there was a very strong burnt smell in the room. The towels all smelled of cigarette smoke. When we complained about the burnt smell, the manager/owner changed our room but he wasn't happy about it! The location is good, but there are dozens of other B&Bs on the same street, no need to stay here.

Great staff, comfy bed and possibly the best shower I’ve ever used! Very good location! Only very minor critique is the Wi-Fi is spotty in the room and the light bulb in the main light in room is super dim and needs replacing (but that’s a 2 min job!)

We loved our experience here! Very personable, quaint, lots of character, and friendly. Breakfast was amazing. Quick and the food was delicious. Our only complaint was the bed was uncomfortable and small. Amazing experience in Ireland, thank you.

Helen was a lovely host and the house was beautifully set up for Bed & Breakfast stays. The room was spacious and the bed was really comfortable. The room was private and quiet. Breakfast was just what we wanted and the ensuite was so convenient.

TL;DR: do not stay here. The owner doesn’t care what goes on inside the B&B. My stay was awful. At 9PM, some gentlemen came into the sitting area and were conversing loudly. Only 9, so not an issue yet. Over the next 3 hours I asked them 3 separate times if they could quiet down so we could sleep. I was met with either indifference or outright hostility. Around 12AM, the front door is slammed 5+ times over 10 minutes with these men going in and out of the building. Soon after, I’m delighted to piece together that these men are staying in the room directly above mine. For the next 30min there was a lot of "activity" on their bed (absolutely everything, especially the beds, creak here). Around 1 it quieted down. At 2:30, one of them was outside without a key. He rings the doorbell (it was a Ring that called the owner), yells, and pounds on all exterior doors. Finally he comes back to the front door (adjacent to my window) and knocks on our window while screaming. My wife is now woken up and scared. The owner finally lets him in. One of the worst parts? The owner blamed us for not asking for a “quiet room” and said he has no responsibility for the conduct of his guests. He also called these men “fine Scottish gentlemen” as if that excuses their actions. He refused to issue any kind of remedy nor take any responsibility for what happens on his property. This place was a nightmare for someone wanting to stay at a BED and breakfast to sleep. Also, no hot water!

Seamus and helen could not do enough for us very friendly always asked us was everything okay. lovely place to stay i would recommend it highly to stay there. Very clean and meets the needs of people who are also disabled. We will be back again

Property manager wasn’t even on site when I arrived. Lights off. Doors locked. Place didn’t even look like it was in business. No note on the door or pre instructions in case this happened. Tried calling and texting the number provided with no response. After 2 hours, the property manager finally responded. Too bad at that time I found a new hotel with excellent customer service.

We were greeted by a super friendly Seamus and made to feel right at home. The room was super comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was great too. Fantastic location, super easy to get about. Would love to stay again!

We wanted to be in bogside so the abbey B&B was perfect for us. Perfect location for all the museums and sights in Derry. Close to the Centre. Incredibly friendly and welcoming staff who are really knowledgeable of their area and it’s history and who gave us great recommendations.

This is a quaint home in the middle of the Bogside. Perfect location for touring/walking around Londonderry.

A basic guest house with very friendly staff. The property is in a run down area of the Bog Side. This is a double edged sword: it's not a particularly attractive location but it fantastic for the museum of Free Derry and other 'attractions' close by. It's also only a 5 minute walk into the city centre.

This Bed and Breakfast is in a perfect location. Quiet street close to the City Eall. Very short stroll to good restaurant and bars. The owners are very nice and informative. Highly recommend.

Everything hosts , spotlessly clean and comfortable accommodation

Location of the property was brilliant as close to the middle of town and facilities. Misleadingly advertised re parking as this was street parking and not on the property. Not an issue as it turned out but was not clear in the property description. Also, description talks about restaurant and laundry facilities but these were not offered and so assumed they did not exist. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was good without being outstanding. 3 stars adequately described the property but as a base for exploring Derry, it was good.
