The location of the hotel is amazing and we had a great view from our window. However, so often it’s about the small details as to whether the stay is amazing or average. We had 2 bad experiences at breakfast. Firstly, we had breakfast included and paid for but my wife wanted a kipper so we paid a £3.00 supplement. However what she got was a small kipper you could buy from a supermarket in a sealed packet rather than a fresh kipper. So disappointing. And then this morning I had to ask twice for English mustard as it wasn’t with the other sauces and eventually turned up once I had finished. Small details make a big difference to my overall experience.

Large room with amazing sea view, nicely decorated although bathroom would benefit from updating. Good bar with various lounge areas which were all very pleasant. Breakfast buffet & bar food both good.

The hotel was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful, but unfortunately, those were the main positives. The lobby looked nice, but the rest of the hotel felt very outdated. Our room looked like it was straight out of the 1980s and was extremely hot. The shower was also disappointing. The water pressure was very weak, and it was almost impossible to get a comfortable temperature – it was either boiling hot or freezing cold. Breakfast was by far the biggest disappointment. We paid £38 for breakfast and barely ate anything because we found the food very poor and not to our taste. If you are used to Scandinavian hotel breakfasts, I would definitely recommend saving your money and going to a nearby café instead. It may suit British tastes better, but for us it was absolutely not worth the price. Overall, the hotel was clean and the staff were helpful, but apart from the nice lobby, almost everything else was disappointing. Unfortunately, we would not stay here again.

A very dated hotel for the price you pay. Helpful staff though, but that will be it.
