Burlington Hotel, BW Premier Collection by Best Western

Apparently I booked a small double room. Last time we stayed here (two years ago) we had a very large double room and that was what we were expecting this time Imagine our surprise in finding a room not much larger than a broom cupboard. So if you are booking a room here make sure you are booking a large room if you want a double. The hotel was full but there seemed to be few people about. It was very quiet when we returned from a function at about 21.30 There is limiting parking provided by the hotel. Parking on the road outside (Earl's Avenue) needs a £7.00 a day permit from the hotel. There is free parking on the Leas - turn right immediately after the hotel. Breakfast was OK. Nothing really to excite those who love breakfasts. Staff all very friendly and helpful.

Everything about this hotel was great from the clean rooms, looked like they have been spruced up ,to the great food good choice, great bar with good choice of snacks and food,all staff we're excellent and could not do enough for you ,everything i want from a hotel stay , Absolutely recommend staying here ,thankyou all, will stay here again in the future im sure.

Large traditional hotel in Folkestone. We arrived late and left early so did not see a great deal however room was clean and had a nice bathroom. Very limited parking but we found a space on the road.

Good hotel. Clean and room was worth the money. Lack of parking is a real issue.

The Burlington is generally a nice hotel. The room we had was tiny, which encouraged us to spend as little time in it as we could and go into town. We found an excellent bistro about 15 minutes walk from the hotel called the Sunshine Bistro and I highly recommend eating there. Parking on-site is limited and costs £5.00 per day. If you park outside the hotel, it costs. If you park along the road to the left of the hotel, then it is free of charge. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. For the cost of the breakfast, it was.. Fine... No complaints.

We booked this hotel because it has parking out the front of the building, but it is on a first come first Parking. However, I was disappointed to see someone had parked in the disabled bay without a disabled badge on display therefore I was unable to use the bay with my badge. I was most upset. The hotel had no plans in place or initiative to find out who had parked their car in that bay whether it was a hotel guest or as they said, it could be someone off the street. I was disappointed a hotel would allow this to happen they said this often happens on a regular basis. But everything elsewas superb.

Booked one night Hotel staff were super friendly. The bar made some fantastic cocktails and there’s even a happy hour. Room was great. We had a great night stay.

We did a room upgrade, well worth it. Great reception for dogs. Great quality breakfast. Dogs can't come in the breakfast room but table is laid in the bar, which is nice with view over the garden. We like this hotel, bit more expensive but well worth it

Only issue with this hotel is the parking is very restrictive staff are lovely and hotel very clean had dinner in the bar which was good and breakfast was nice

Great place to stay if you are traveling with a pet. Restaurant gas wonderful food and will set up a table in the bar so your dog can join you

The cleanliness wasn't to a high standard and the building was tired and the repairs or replacement sections (new and old) didnt mix. The bar areas were modern, clean and friendly staff although there appeared to be young inexperienced staff in the restaurant that needed a shake up. We felt our beds could have been cleaner and questionable whether the bed linen had been changed.

This is an exceptional hotel. I treated myself to a 5 night stay in the Master Junior Suite and it exceeded my expectations. The room was spotless and the decor is beautiful. In addition to this the view of the gardens is stunning. From start to finish my stay was amazing, the staff at The Burlington were welcoming and helpful. As a solo traveller, I felt completely safe. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

Small double but fine for overnight very clean and the comfiest bed lovely well kempt old grand seaside hotel

Okay for a one night stay. Bathroom had a mouldy smell Staff was not unpleasant not pleasant neither Room was ok The cream in the bathroom was off. They have a very small park which is always full as they don’t check who parks there.

Best Western Plus Burlington Hotel was a peaceful, pristine and premium place. The Staff was friendly and always willing to help. It was a much needed weekend away from our busy lifestyles.

I would like to highly recommend the rooms, and I found the fan in the room to be a wonderful addition. The room was clean, spacious, and featured a comfortable bed and sofa, along with a large television. It provided everything necessary for a truly pleasant stay. Thank you very much.

Quiet, clean and comfortable.

This was our second visit within a week. Reception staff were very cheerful and helpful. Our room (231) was much better this time, very spacious and clean.

Lack of air conditioning in the room made it difficult to sleep in, even with the fan

Beautiful, spacious room with four poster bed, sitting area and a huge bathtub. Overlooked a park so very peaceful. Bathroom was huge with double sinks and a walk in shower. Best night’s sleep I’ve had in a hotel room for many years! Would definitely return and stay longer next time!

Brilliant stay from the beginning, reception staff friendly and attentive. The room was beautiful, and very cosy (four poster bed). It was old fashioned in style but I think that was the point, and it works very well. It was a lovely mix of modern and old. The bathroom was huge, and still had original plumbing features (vintage taps etc) but were brilliantly preserved. Easy to get a taxi into Folkestone harbour (5 pound each way). Not a lot of parking but there is free parking a 2 minute walk away. We absolutely loved Folkestone and said we would come back, and we wouldn’t stay anywhere else but the Burlington.

Pleasant stay, one of the nicer hotels in Folkestone. Rooms seemed to be (recently?) renovated, bathroom's spacious, bedroom was a little on the smaller size and the bed itself felt like a small double. One of the cons of our stay was how unbearably hot it was in our bedroom. The thermostat on the radiator wouldn't turn off and there was no way to switch if off in the bathroom. We had to sleep the whole night with the windows and curtains wide open.

A well-renovated Victorian seaside hotel. Friendly and professional receptionist meant a smooth and rapid check-in. Room 102 very clean and renovated to a good standard. Nice toiletries and plenty of clear spaces for my things. Only thing that slightly marred the experience was very unpredictable internet that disappeared fairly frequently. Didn't use the bar or restaurant as attending a birthday event nearby

Nice hotel and room. About 20/30min stroll to harbour. Only issue was shower was broken so had to hold it.

Very friendly staff even checking later. We could still have dinner in bar with dog at last moment. Room great, very well updated and clean. Bathroom lovely. Apart that the water in shower only trickled. No nice full stream

The staff make this hotel what it is, everyone is exceptional

2 night stay while visiting for a friend's wedding. Room was clean and cozy. Staff were amazing. Very knowledgeable and incredibly attentive. Even going out of their way to bring us got breakfast items when we were running late on Sunday morning!

Checking in experience was long. Despite doing the pre-check in form, it took too long. When asking if we could book for dinner the front desk said no, they can only accommodate 4 guests for the evening in the whole restaurant. So we had to eat elsewhere. In the morning for breakfast, I asked for poached eggs. They came 25 mins later and were hard boiled. When returning them to the kitchen the chef must have thrown the plate as it caused a stir from staff who were prevented from going back in the kitchen. They remade them and again they were hard boiled. The main elevator smelled like wet dog. Doesn’t help it’s carpeted up the walls. Overall not a pleasant stay. On returning back in the evening, all rooms cards were blocked for many guests. Wouldn’t recommend staying.

There was a little hiccup on our room reservation but the reception staff resolved it without any problem and very much to our satisfaction. This is our second visit to the Burlington and we have always found the staff more than attentive to our needs or requests. They all should be highly commended with special reference to Romin. He is a credit.

One member on front of house was very disorganised, abrupt, and rude. Room keys expired during the night for our whole wedding party!!! My saturday breakfast booking wasnt completed and I felt embarrassed upon going down to breakfast and having to clarify, I had booked. Luckily, I was later seated. The cleaning staff were very polite, helpful, and sweet.

The staff, all of them, were friendly, helpful, chatty, and could not do more. Unusual for every single staff member, but honestly was such a lovely stay.

Very spacious hotel in a lovely building and quiet road, close to the beach top promenade. We walked everywhere. The room was very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was really nice, full hot and cold buffet and extra menu to order from. Very friendly staff.

There isn’t a lot of onsite parking, however there is free onsite parking close by which we used. Upon check in we were greeted by Mark who was so friendly, knowledgable, and instantly made us feel like we had made a good choice with his excellent customer service. This is a pet friendly hotel, which is the main reason why we chose to stay here as we had an our doggo with us. There is is £20 per night surcharge which seems weird because presumably this is for the enhanced cleaning, so the number of nights is irrelevant- just charge for the stay otherwise it becomes bad value for pet owners and drives them towards better value options, such as AirBnB, which we don’t want. Our room was a large disabled access room on the ground floor, which meant it had a huge bathroom, which sadly didn’t have a bath despite the enormous amount of space, and definitely could have still been classed as accessible. We were at the side of the hotel so the view was into next door but that didn’t really bother us. The decor was pleasant and the bed comfortable. The bed did have a spring base which squeaked sometimes when you moved, so this could do with some WD40! Overall, the hotel is well located, with comfortable rooms and delightful staff who really seem to care about your stay.

Hotel and food were fine. Lovely room, good view but awful service when something went untoward . The ability to solve the issue, take responsibility and follow up on promises made was sadly lacking (anything but 4*)

Perfect overnight stay. We were going to a concert at the Leas Cliff Hall. The Burlington is a 10 minute walk away and in a lovely part of Folkestone. Room was very comfortable. Hotel wifi recommended as mobile coverage not great.

Lovely old property. Floors creaked but otherwise quite quiet. Staff were friendly. We didnt eat there so can't comment on the food. Very close to the seafront & walked along there to the main town, which only took about 20 minutes. Would stay there again.

This is a very good traditional hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a superb location in Folkestone just a short way from the beach/ sea.

Lovely hotel in a great location for exploring Folkestone. We upgraded to a superior double room which was very spacious as was the en-suite. Very tastefully decorated, comfortable king sized bed. Partial sea view. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and we look forward to a return visit.

Stopped off on way to channel tunnel, so handy, lovely spot with nice elevated promenade walks. Lovely breakfast. Would definitely stay here in future & will recommend it to friends.

Well appointed, comfortable room. Pleasant staff, near to the Folkestone Leas and town. One complaint need choice for vegetarian diners. We certainly recommend the hotel and hope to revisit. Catherine Cartwright

Had a lovely stay at this hotel. We had a funny smell in our room . We went to reception and was given the choice of two other rooms. The staff were excellent..we had dinner in the evening and breakfast in the morning and the service and food was delicious. There wasn’t much opened around the area as it seems most places closed on a Sunday earlier.

We had a lively stay at the Burlington, celebrating our golden wedding anniversary. The staff were all helpful, cheerful and friendly, and whether it was deliberate or not, in view of it being our anniversary, gave us a lovely room (343) with sea and garden views, a huge comfy bed and really everything needed for a hotel stay. Other than breakfasts we only ate in the hotel one evening, sharing a burger (..yep, the munchies!) after spending the evening enjoying a music gig at Keppels bar 2mins away. Breakfasts were mostly fine - again, everything we needed, except each morning something of our choiceswasn't available - a banana, kippers, one morning no pastries left, no fruit compote (really nice on the one morning it was available). Overall, however we had a great time on our special occasion and would definitely go back again. Thanks BW staff, it was excellent!

The position of the hotel was really wonderful - so close to the seafront and walks. The Hotel was comfortable, and staff very friendly. The Bay restaurant was excellent - a good choice and very well cooked and presented. Extremely helpful and friendly waitress. We will definitely return and book a bigger room.

Our room was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly. I was extremely disappointed though that for the duration of our three day stay the hotel had “run out” of plant based alternatives at breakfast. As a vegetarian this is important to me and had I known before I booked I would have selected room only and had breakfast at one of the many local eateries. When I complained to the waitress on the third day she just shrugged her shoulders which gave me the impression that she didn’t care. No apology was offered.

The hotel is very clean and has a nice situation. The staff I came into contact with were all very friendly and polite. My only issue was with the breakfast. I booked through hotels. com and was charged £19 per breakfast. On the hotel menu the price is shown as£14.95. There were several options on the menu, full English, cereal, croissant,porridge etc but there was no indication as to whether you could mix items. For instance if you had the full English could you have other items as well. I didn't realise you could until it was explained to another guest. This should be shown on the menu. Also, on both mornings I was there no small plates or cereal bowls put out for people to use. If it had not been for this I would have given the hotel the highest marking.

We ate in the restaurant on our first evening. The food was OK, but nothing special. One of our party ordered a local beer... which was served- clearly displaying its 'use by' date of February 2024. We sent it back, only to be told that ALL of their stock of that beer was out of date. Our room was badly lit, and so small there was barely room to move around the double bed. Not enough room for an adult to sit comfortably at the dressing table, and we were tripping over each other trying to get ready. The shower heat control didn't seem to work, it was too hot - but if you adjusted it just a millimetre it went freezing cold. We were there for two nights for a wedding, so didn't have time to ask to change rooms. Overall, it was adequate - though I have had much more comfortable stays in Premier inns. Disappointing.

The hotel has been revamped and has a lovely upmarket feel to it. The room was very spacious with the usual tea making facilities. The bed was very comfortable and the bedlinen white and crisp. The bathroom was modern, tastefully decorated with large plush towels and the bath has a jacuzzi function. I ate in the restaurant (delicious fish and chips) and the service as friendly and efficient. Breakfast comprises a cold buffet as well as an impressive menu. Seems a little pricey at first (although cheaper if booked with the room) but well worth it. The hotel is set in a lovely garden and is pet friendly. 15 minutes from the Eurotunnel, 2 minutes from The Leas. This is my go-to hotel when travelling with or without my dog when between the UK and France.
