Cleanliness is mixed: several guests found rooms clean or spotless, but many reported dirty carpets and bathrooms, smoke smells, mould or damp, and poorly cleaned windows and balconies. A few mentioned pests or bedbugs and housekeeping lapses (bins, towels, toiletries).

Rooms are basic and dated, though many have sea views and some offer balconies; noise from thin walls, slamming doors and entertainment is common, and beds are often described as hard or uncomfortable. Bathroom fixtures and hot water can be unreliable, there is no air conditioning, Wi‑Fi is chargeable, and plug sockets can be limited.

Staff are often friendly and helpful, and some issues were resolved with room moves or upgrades. However, long check-in queues, sporadic rudeness, slow responses, and recurring key-card problems are also reported.

Harbour-front location close to the beach, old town and shops, with easy access to the Eurotunnel and ferry. Many rooms feature wide sea or harbour views.

Breakfast and dinner quality varies widely: some guests found it good value, while others reported greasy, cold or poor meals and occasional closures or limited late-night options. Bar prices can feel high.
