We loved it here! The sauna is amazing- dry, cold shower, steam, cold shower, relax on the lounger! The fitness center has a good supply of free weights (dumbells) so you can get a good workout. Room service was quick and efficient, and we loved the room!

The room was very comfortable, great beds. It was very quiet. The staff is very nice. Its 6 mins walk from the train station, or 1 bus stop away. If you have too use the gym, be prepared to travel back to the 70s. The gym is only a room with very old machines and some very weird dumbells.

The hotel is very “tired” and desperately needs renovation! Nobody warned me about the additional cost for the small dog we had at the check-in. The room we had (959) was so dirty, that I have doubts it was ever cleaned (especially under the additional bed - sofa). The sink was leaking, and, most important, it was EXTREMELY cold all the time. Just really cold! The towels in the bathroom were always wet - don’t know why. But most important - I don’t know, if this is normal for Swiss hotels or for Hotel Royal in particular - but during the whole stay of ours there was a strong odor of cannabis on our floor (5). I mean, it this for the money I pay? 4 stars, really? Would never stay here again.

Dejligt centralt hotel med god service samt valet og parkeringskælder. Stort værelse med badeværelse i pæn stand. Vores værelse havde en sovesofa som var meget slidt og næsten ubrugelig. Værelset kunne generelt godt bruge en update på standen men der manglede ikke noget. Rengøring var desværre ikke tilfredsstillende: Da vi kom var der hår flere steder på værelset og endnu flere på badeværelset - rengøringen kom (dog uforstående) med det samme men det var ikke fjernet da vi kom tilbage.

This hotel is dated, old, desperate for full renovation to maintain 4 star rating. Hallways on the room floors are very dirty, more like a coal mine rather than a hotel. Bedding and mattresses were very good.

1. 난방 안됨 밤새 꽤 춥고 방에 우풍도 심한데 라디에이터가 고장났는지 전혀 난방이 되지 않았습니다 스위스에서 묵은 숙소중 가장 추웠음 (인터라켄, 체르마트보다도 추웠음) 2. 드라이기 고장남 (처음부터 고장나 있었음) - 직원을 불러 교체해주시긴 했으나, 별다른 안내 없이 30분 이상 지체되어 약속에 늦음 3. 불편한 샤워기 - 욕조 칸막이가 없느니만 못한 수준이라, 목욕이 아니라 샤워를 해 버리면 물이 욕실에 다 넘쳐버립니다. 욕실에 배수구도 없어서 하루종일 한강으로 지내든가 아니면 수건으로 닦아내야했어요 4. 기차 소음 - 창틀이 낡고 얇아서 바로 옆에 있는 기차역 소음이 그대로 들려 잠을 설칠 정도 였습니다… 특히 배정받은 방이 창 밖에 바로 기차가 보일 수준으로 기차랑 가까워서 더 그랬던 것 같습니다

The services of the hotel were by far lower than we expected. Especially the arrogant attitude of the staff when we asked the cleanup service was terrible. The whole experience in Geneva was wonderful expect for the hotel experience. I sincerely not recommend staying this hotel to my friends. Such a shame.

I found the Hotel very unhelpful when I arrived before my check-in time around 11 AM. They did not seem to make much of an effort to clean my room and I had to wait over half an hour after the designated check-in time 3 PM. They did not provide any of the VIP benefits and I was not sure they even understood what they were. Apart from that the staff were courteous and the room was always well cleaned. Breakfast was quite good and there was quite a lot of choice.

Stayed at this hotel before and got ViP access with my platinum status but this time around I got zero benefits. Was even put in a small and inferior room in front of noisy service elevator. Tried messaging the hotel and Expedia about this but just didn’t have the time to chase as I was here busy with work. Quite disappointed with this 2nd visit compared to my first.

Very old hotel Staff need proper training, this is not hospitality. Very Expensive for the quality of service provided and the very old room. You can’t charge your electrical stuff like phones tablets etc unless you have Swiss type of plug when asked for adapter, given one that did not work, when taken to reception, they advised it is working no issue with it!!! When asked later for another one, i’ve been told all given to other customers! Receptionist then suggested i leave anything needs charging in reception if i want!! Not sure i’ve seen that even in the poorest of countries i visited. There is clear explanation by receptionist about anything, most question asked, answered vaguely. Staff feel this is a job to do get paid and go home. No proper training or proper customer service provided. Stayed twice in Geneva before in different hotels, much better service all around.

Très satisfait de l’hôtel, confort et services au rendez-vous. Côté restauration, c’était moins inspiré : une escalope de poulet rebaptisée « suprême de volaille », ça fait sourire, surtout quand elle est accompagnée d’une eau du robinet qui, elle, a réussi la prouesse de valoir 7 francs !! Alors que sauf erreur pour facturer une eau plate sur Genève, celle-ci doit se trouver fermée.... Et pour finir, demander une facture et se voir répondre « pas possible, réservation internet »… on aurait presque cru à une blague du chef.

La chambre était bien. On entendait légèrement le bruit du train, mais cela restait raisonnable. Il manquait simplement deux peignoirs et une paire de chaussons. Le personnel était très agréable, et la chambre était refaite chaque matin. Le personnel de l’hôtel était très professionnel et poli, avec un grand sens du service. La possibilité de choisir entre deux formules de petit-déjeuner était une très bonne option. Un bon séjour dans l’ensemble, avec un personnel agréable et serviable.

Hotel aconchegante e localizado no centro da cidade. Café da manhã super bem servido. Nosso quarto era um quarto família e foi maravilhoso. Super amplo incluindo uma cozinha. Do lado do hotel tem um mercado e com isso pudemos comer no quarto à noite usando a cozinha do quarto. Para o inverno funcionou super bem.

The property was close to the train station which was the only reason we planned on passing through Geneva. Penelope and Nana at the front desk were so helpful and they encouraged this exhausted traveler to give their city a chance. They talked me into going down for the light show on the lake front and I am glad I did. It started me on road to recover from a bad river cruise experience. They also had convinced me to take a tour of the city which I did and learned many things about city. They love their city and want others to experience what it offers. Not to mention how well they took care of checking us in.
