Close to city center. For the whole stay the AC was not working and it was sweltering and felt like we were staying in sauna. It was not staff's problem, rather management issue. We were not informed of AC problem, otherwise i would have picked another hotel as i paid quite a bit of money for the hotel.

Three star hotel with 3-star facilities which is expected and acceptable. Rather expensive for what it is. Parking spaces leave limited breadth which means a. It's hard for older people to get in and out of vehicles without making contact with adjacent cars. Moreover, your own vehicle is at risk of being scraped or dented.

Breakfast both mornings was disappointing. Coffee machine didn’t work, little fruit compote available, difficult trying to get staff to help as they were busy dealing with machine malfunctions. The bar wasn’t particularly well stocked and the lack of slimline options in drinks was not helpful for diabetic friends . No air conditioning in the hotel at all.

The hotel itself and the location is good. The main issue is- as previous reviews have already mentioned- that it is very hot! It was not a particularly hot day, around 23 degrees and it got cool in the evening outside. However, the temperature in the room was too high and the fans just circulated the hot air. Because of that, it was impossible to sleep. There is a sign in the lift that the air-conditioning is out of order which must have been there for months. If this problem was fixed, the hotel would be very good. In the winter, the room may be fine.

Basic hotel. walkable to the city centre and university. The parking is free for 24 hours. If you’re going to the stadium it’s probably ideal. The breakfast is free and basic.

The main problem was the air conditioning not working. We had my service dog with me so we're put in the furthest away room on the top floor. This would have been ok if the air con was working I think but on a weekend with temps reaching 30c and the heat from the hotel rising, it was horrendous! The fan provided by the hotel did nothing but circulate hot air and it was actually cooler outside at night than it was inside the room. Even the cold water in the tap was warm! You couldn't keep bottles of water cold. Worst stay I have ever had in a holiday inn!

Glad it wasn't match day. Good it has lift. Building showing a lot of wear and tear. Booked triple room . As was expecting three people to go. One couldn't but even so the sofa bed was not made up. No sheet or duvet cover or pillows. Sofa bed like a wooden board yo sleep on. Lights are odd have to have main light on to have bedside spots in? Bathroom bad. Sink multiple cracks. Soap not at sink. Disable access shower . Grouting mouldy nit appealing to step into. Odd to have only one side with curtain!! Floor gets very wet. Our room must have had a leak from toilet cistern as floor wet totally around toilet. Had to use bathmats and hand towel to keep feet dry when using toilet. I asked at reception for extra pillows. Was told the hotel was full of unlikely to find even xn extra 1. Whenever brought any. If you want to see a very good example of holiday inn express go to York on the Malton road.

Fixtures and fittings was broken caught my hand several times on what was loose panelling carpets was worn, light covers missing of fixtures and rough looking the lady on the desk was lovely when I arrived and the over all maintenance is very low standard a lot of work needs doing here which is a shame it’s in prime location and yet I would look elsewhere in future! I would have complained but was happy to go home.

Kids playing football in the corridor of level 5 - swearing in front of my kids. Room stunk of cigarettes. Large crack in the wall by the window. Breakfast was OK, not so good. Overall dissatisfied with the stay.

Excellent hotel and location but the Wi-Fi in the bedroom (4th floor) was very poor. I have stayed here a few times and the internet is always an issue. I believe it’s to do with the area and the football interference. Overall, 5g hotspot works fine. I would still recommend this hotel. I was privileged in receiving a room facing the stadium was truly an exceptional view.

Staff were amazing but unfortunately the room was really uncomfortable. The sofa bed for my son had a big metal ridge in it and the main double bed was really uncomfortable. Air conditioning was disabled throughout the entire hotel and half the lights in our room didn't work. Could be a fantastic hotel with a bit of much needed TLC.

Normally when I book an accessible room and I arrive with a mobility walker or wheelchair- someone will ask if I need any help to go to my room. No help offered. Similarly when I asked about having a cold buffet breakfast - I was told only that there was a list in the lift and a list in my room - not true - list was just about the cooked meal. Again - no help offered when I ordered a snack at the bar - I was expected somehow to carry this to where I wanted it - a plate of food + a bowl of crisps - and negotiate the lift and my room key.

We had already paid you £188 for 2 nights, on arrival reception said we hadn\'t paid and charged us a further £159, after reviewing my online banking we returned to reception and was told " OH WELL " you should get it back within 7 days, totally unprofessional, also we stayed here in December and due to conditioning issues the room was very cold, we understand that these things happen but they still have the same problem 3 months on, REALLY!!!

The room was not ready when we arrived at 6.30pm - but we did only book on the afternoon. We booked for three people and when we arrived they had not set up the sofa bed so we had to wait for that. We had a drink on the bar while we waited, I’m not sure what lager I was drinking but it wasn’t what I ordered. The room was fine but very cold. There are signs saying the air conditioning is broken so please ask for a heater or fan from reception. By 9pm our room was so cold, we did have an oil filled radiator but it did not provide much heat. We asked at reception for another heater but they said we already had one so we went to bed cold. At breakfast we asked for gluten free sausages as my daughter is coeliac - the signs in the lift said to ask your server at breakfast for gluten free options. We were told 25 minutes wait, 40 minutes later they still weren’t cooked so we had to go. We purposely book Holiday Inns as they are usually so good with gluten free options, most having a dedicated area. Staff were friendly but we were disappointed with our stay it was definitely not worth the £105 we spent. Holiday Inns are usually of a better quality of Travelodge etc but not this one unfortunately.

We were in Leicester for a family wedding in the city center, so we booked in with you the day before so we could relax, as we travelled up from Wiltshire.The Hotel was comfortable, parking was great, Bed was comfy and Breakfast was tasty. Also great being next to King Power stadium.

Excellent hotel, and superbly clean. Very welcoming. Didn't realise the parking is free for hotel guests, ended up paying £12.50 for overnight stay as the Ringo banner appears just outside the hotel thought it would be a good idea to pay first and then enter the hotel. Very decent english breakfast.

Hotel and staff lovely and very clean. Only downside was the lack of choice at breakfast. Bacon and sausage poor quality. No pastries, no choice of yoghurt flavours. Only fruit was tinned oranges or an apple. No dried fruit. Continental option seemed to be a sole mini blueberry muffin. Very disappointed.

I have stayed here and st other Holiday Inn Express before. I was shocked to see that the breakfast is now a pale shadow of what previously was the USP of this chain. Evidence of shrinkflation and penny pinching! A dumb move by Holiday Inn...as there are cheaper and better alternatives if you discount what is now a very ordinary breakfast. How sad!
