Hotel Maya Yucatan

This place was a total dump. Did not look like the pictures at all! The entire building is in disrepair. Cockroaches, trim falling off the walls, shower head falling out of the ceiling. When I arrived I asked where to park and the receptionists said the parking lot was full. After a brief altercation I was given a coupon for parking directly across the street. The air conditioning didn’t work. The only pleasant thing about my stay was the friendly maintenance guy who got it working. Trust me you would be more comfortable in a jail cell😳

I regularly stay in hotels all over Mexico a few times per month for my work , unfortunately I have never had a worse experience than I had at Hotel Maya Yucatan I expected that it being associated with Kavia a large chain , it would be ok, but boy was I wrong! First off the hotel room was a lot more run down that it shows in the pictures , it needs a lot of maintenance, there was mould in the shower corners as well as in and around the faucet, then the linens were stained , the towels some of them either had stains or had rips , they never even left a had towel for us , and in some days they didn’t even change the towels But that was not the worse , during more than half of my stay there was no hot water when I needed to shower. Now I was there for work and had to be out by a certain time , and everytime this happened I called reception , and either they didn’t answer or they just said it would be fixed shortly and an hour later I still couldn’t take a shower and I was late for work , thanks to this The only way the staff would actually do something about it ( and even then it would take them 20 mins plus) would be if we physically went down to the reception and refused to leave them until they fixed it, this didn happen only once , it happened 4 times And on top of it the attitude from the staff was horrible , instead of helpful … Oh yeah and on the last day there was a dead cockroach outside of our room that no one ever swept up Save your money and don’t stay here !
