It is a beautiful old hotel -museum. Food was average. Service was great. Huge rooms with all the basic amenities, no robes nor slippers. No swimming pool, the sauna wasn't advertised and the spa have just one therapist. No appointments available for all of us. Some area of the hotel are rented for events, so we have to surrounded the area. Is a good experience and the location is superb.

Considero hace falta mantenimiento al hotel, alfombras, picaportes de baños, luz al interior de closets, barniz a muebles del cuarto, refrigerador al interior del cuarto abierto (aunque no necesariamente tiene que tener bebidas, si no lo incluye el costo de la habitación, uno puede llevar alguna), agua y café diario en la habitación, no solo el primer día de hospedaje, restaurantes abiertos hasta más noche (uno de ellos cierra a las 8 pm, muy temprano!) .. y hasta ahí lo qué recuerdo…. Gracias.. por lo demás es un hermoso hotel, histórico y muy agradable su interior.., si vale el término hotel-museo… volvería a hospedarme ahí..!!

The location is ideal if you want to eat at any hour, the area is very walkable with plenty of great eateries nearby. It is in an urban area but still quiet, and we felt very safe walking around at night. We visited the hotel bar, the “Telephone Bar,” twice during our stay and enjoyed the live music, which was a fun touch. The drinks were not very strong, though maybe I am just a bit of a lush. We also had breakfast at the Veranda Bistro. It was a buffet, and while nothing in particular stood out to me, everything I tried was good. I am not a big eater in the morning, but it was still enjoyable. The hotel itself is beautiful and well kept, with classic European Belle Époque decor that adds a touch of elegance. The staff was friendly, helpful, and always available, which made us feel very welcome. The only improvement I would suggest would be softer linens in the room, as ours felt a little rough, but even that did not take away from the overall experience. It is about a 30-minute drive to Centro Histórico or 1-hour walk, and about 20-minute drive in the other direction to the Museo de Antropología or a 45-minute walk. I do recommend Hotel Geneve CDMX and look forward to staying there again.

Only a fridge in the room I had, but make sure to ask them to unlock it as soon as you arrive so they start the process It's a very secure hotel, they register guests with their IDs, so don't worry about any Jordan vandeslooting. The lobby is amazing as well. Didn't try the restaurants, but on my way out one morning, there was a line outside. I would stay here again.

Not suitable for business travelers Stayed: November 1–8, 2025 This review is from the perspective of a frequent business traveler. I stayed one week at the Geneve Hotel and unfortunately it did not meet the expectations of a hotel for business travel. Gym: Open 7 AM –10 PM on weekdays and only 9 AM – 5 PM on weekends. These hours make it impossible to work out before an early start. Breakfast: Starts at 7 AM but the dining area is far too small (about 20 tables). Every weekday morning at 7 AM, guests were waiting to be seated and I never managed to have a proper breakfast before work. The combination of late gym opening and crowded breakfast service made it impossible to keep a normal morning routine or arrive at the office on time at 8:30 AM. Staff: Friendly, attentive, and doing their best within the limits of hotel operations. Suggestions for management: Open the gym earlier and start breakfast at 6 AM to better accommodate business travelers. Bottom line: A beautiful historic hotel but not recommended if you’re in Mexico City for work and need reliable early-morning facilities.

Great location, amazing staff, great amenities. The hotel was seriously amazing, strong A/C, friendly staff that helped with luggage and the building itself was seriously stunning. The downstairs bar called phone bar is super cute & classy. The only downside was that there was renovations within the same floor we were staying (4th floor) so the whole floor was very loud due to renovation work but other than that I would 100% stay here again. The rooms were spacious & a lot of good food spots are within walking distance.

Excellent choice for my first trip to Mexico City. Close to a lot. Very safe. Metro is a few blocks away. I have walked or taken the metro and not Ibered yet. Had a wonderful massage at the spa. Live music in the bar with an amazing singer the night I arrived.

The Geneve Hotel enjoys an excellent location and has a truly beautiful lobby. However, the rooms left much to be desired. While I appreciate the effort to maintain the antique style, the carpets were dusty and unclean, and the amenities were very basic for a hotel that is not inexpensive. It may be a suitable choice for some travelers, but unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant.

La verdad un hotel Con mucha historia en la parte de Loby todo bien, pero de ahí en fuera todo está súper sucio las alfombras negras de sucediad, los baños de las habitaciones no los lavaron en 4 días que yo estuve ahí la tina era un asco me tocaba lavarla a mí para poder bañarnos, las cortinas no dan el servicio aún siendo de black out no cierran por lo tanto no funcionan

Great location. The lobby is gorgeous and one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the dated rooms with average cleanliness. I found a pair of used socks next to my bed! Also a woman’s hair thingy. Not cool. I would recommend only if you find a great deal and care about location. Oh, and they partially honor Expedia perks. I got a drink voucher but not upgrade and the hotel was quite empty.

El hotel tiene muy buena ubicacion, es agradable y el personal es muy atento mi calificacion es porque las fotos que se muestran no coinciden para nada con la habitacion que me dieron, pague cerca de 2,000 por noche y me dieron una habitacion sumamente pequeña, literal un pequeñisimo cuarto con la cama, la tv y el baño. Las fotos que se muestran en la opcion que seleccione muestran una habitacion que facilmente es 3 o 4 veces mas amplia a la que recibi

Room noise is a big concern. We had a corner room, and at night there was constant music from the nearby night club, horns honking, people yelling, cars roaring. It could be because we had a street facing room. Otherwise, the remodeled room was decent - wood floors, lots of power outlets. We had water pooling on the bathroom floor from the shower, but I was able to solve it by angling the water towards the wall so it would stay inside the tub. Decor of the hotel is very cool, there was a private party in the ballroom almost every night. Gym facilities were decent. Lots of nearby amenities for food, pharmacy, 7-11 so the location was great and felt safe. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, but bring ear plugs!

This hotel has a lot of history, and we appreciated some interesting features in the public areas. Hotel staff are very nice and helpful, and the bed is comfortable. However, for a five-star hotel, I expected more than the bare minimum. For one thing, the room was very old and insufficiently lit. The bathroom was small and dark. Sound insulation was poor, and we could hear every conversation from the adjoining room. The WiFi connection was very poor, and I had to resort to using cellular data all the time. Finally, the Veranda restaurant staff was not nice or helpful. We ate there twice for breakfast, once ordering a la carte, the second time, for buffet. The buffet selection was the smallest I’d ever seen at any hotel. There was no bread or pastry (though we saw bread baskets on some tables) and the waitstaff did not offer to bring any to us. This hotel has a lot of history, and we appreciated some interesting features in the public areas. Hotel staff are very nice and helpful, and the bed is comfortable. However, for a five-star hotel, I expected more than the bare minimum. For one thing, the room was very old and insufficiently lit. The bathroom was small and dark. Sound insulation was poor, and we could hear every conversation from the adjoining room. The WiFi connection was very poor, and I had to resort to using cellular data all the time. Finally, the Veranda restaurant staff was not nice or helpful. We ate there twice for breakfast, once ordering a la carte, the second time, for buffet. The buffet selection was the smallest I’d ever seen at any hotel. There was no bread or pastry (though we saw bread baskets on some tables) and the waitstaff did not offer to bring any to us. Overall, it’s a pretty hotel but sorely lacking in some essentials. We will not go back.

The location of the room was next to the ballroom. The party on Friday didn’t end the loud music until 1:00. Yes I heard every beat, boop, and clomp of boots dancing. Afterwards the festival continued with lively conversation. Yes I was offered a move but for one night I thought it wasn’t worth it, until…daybreak had the ballroom conerrted to the morning breakfast. The cllappon of China, the early morning greetings and the smell of crisp bacon completed for a distasteful experience

While our room was quiet, our friends had a room in another part of the hotel where noise from late night partying on the weekend from the neighborhood didn't stop until 6am, which prevented them from getting any sleep. Also, the rooms are dated with some furniture worn out or broken. Finally, we did have one negative encounter with a staff member from security. Our friends (also staying there) came to our room with us so we could grab a few things before heading out. A staff member confronted us and suggested we had 4 people staying in the room. I understand the need for vigilance, but the way it was handled left a bad taste.

I had a very disappointing check-in experience. After a long trip that started at 6 a.m. in New York and ended at 2 a.m., the man at the reception was rude and unwelcoming. Even after I explained how exhausted I was, he gave me what seemed like one of the worst rooms, pretending it was the only one available. The small room on the third floor felt neglected and not very clean — even the towels were in poor condition compared to the other side of the property, where I later had a much better experience. By Saturday morning, I couldn’t take it anymore, but thankfully I met Mr. Antonio at the front desk. He was kind, professional, and helped me get the exact room I had originally purchased. I truly appreciate his excellent service.

This really surprised me as I expected to see smiling faces through out the entire hotel. At one point we waited in front of the restaurant for 10 mins with staffing walking by and no acknowledging us at all so we seated ourselves. Other than that we had an ok visit at the hotel.

Terrible service they did not allow for early check-in. They did not allow for late check out. They did not allow room upgrade. I arrived early morning and they did not allow me to check-in until exactly check-in time 3pm. I requested a room upgrade with Expedia VIP and was denied. I requested Late Check out and was denied. Will not stay at the property again, and I do not recommend it to anyone.

Contiene carne o no?” They answered no multiple times and I took one but halfway after eating we found cheese stuffed in the Tamales. How ignorant of them that they couldn’t tell if cheese was milk or non-vegan. They offered a vegan item from the menu, we thought that’s complementary instead of buffet meal and ordered it. But later they made us pay for it. We weren’t even told that it would cost extra for that one item. They couldn’t really adjust one vegan meal since we literally had nothing to eat there in buffet.. they made a huge deal by talking to bunch of staffs there and still couldn’t get that for free. The Hotel Geneve is an antique hotel that absolutely oozes charm. But don't expect luxury (for the price, you probably shouldn't anyway). Happily, what the hotel lacks in mod-cons it more than compensates for with quaintness (even quirkiness). There was a mix-up about our room the first night (it was tiny), but on our second day at our request we moved to a much better, larger room and were quite happy. The hotel restaurant, in a plant-filled atrium with caged birds chirping merrily, offers an excellent buffet or a la carte breakfast and seemed to be a popular dinner spot, as well. The one drawback about the Hotel Geneve is its neighborhood. We heard that the Zona Rosa (as that part of Juarez is called) is a coming hip 'hood in central Mexico City. It certainly is geographically convenient to major tourist sites -- close to the Paseo de la Reforma and about halfway between the Zocalo and Chapultepec Park -- but hip is not the word to describe it. "Raunchy" would be more accurate. The Zona Rosa -- "red zone" -- is just that: sex shops, sketchy bars, and a . . . colorful crowd on the street. But we learned from walking around the area that it is not far from Roma Norte, which really is a trendy, stylish neighborhood chock full of interesting restaurants and bars. So if you don't mind seedy surroundings and walking 10-15 minutes to get to hip areas like Condesa and Roma Norte, the Hotel Geneve is perfect.

The hotel is historic. The rooms are old and the bed and pillows are Súper uncomfortable. The hotel has an old man smell. The shower did not work and had to get maintenance to come fix it. The carpet is old and dirty. The area, well it’s loud and so many clubs and bars. It’s good if that’s what you are looking for. The crowd is lots of young kids looking to party and get drunk. Not my scene. I should have stayed in Roma Norte.

The good - Great location. Near Insurgentes metro station. A very short walk to beautiful Roma neighborhood. Hotel surrounded by plenty of stores, shops, bars and restaurants. Lobby is gorgeous with lots of historical memorabilia. Staff we dealt with were all kind and helpful. The bad - Unlike the lobby the rooms are getting shabby. Our first room had no outside windows (so was very quiet ) and felt like a room for staff. Our second room had a window which felt like it was open as you could hear everything outside. It also had an adjoining room door and you could hear the other guests like they were in the same room. The a/c unit was loud enough to drown them out at night. Our room also didn’t have pillow covers when we first arrived. And the shower didn’t drain well. Overall an impressive hotel in the lobby but disappointing in the room.

Lovely historic hotel. Really neat decor, restaurants were excellent, staff was very helpful and courteous to an English only speaker, bar was neat. Just a really unique and neat place. Area around the hotel had a lot of variety and shopping and dining options. Seemed very safe.

The location is ideal if you want to eat at any hour, the area is very walkable with plenty of great eateries nearby. It is in an urban area but still quiet, and we felt very safe walking around at night. We visited the hotel bar, the “Telephone Bar,” twice during our stay and enjoyed the live music, which was a fun touch. The drinks were not very strong, though maybe I am just a bit of a lush. We also had breakfast at the Veranda Bistro. It was a buffet, and while nothing in particular stood out to me, everything I tried was good. I am not a big eater in the morning, but it was still enjoyable. The hotel itself is beautiful and well kept, with classic European Belle Époque decor that adds a touch of elegance. The staff was friendly, helpful, and always available, which made us feel very welcome. The only improvement I would suggest would be softer linens in the room, as ours felt a little rough, but even that did not take away from the overall experience. It is about a 30-minute drive to Centro Histórico or 1-hour walk, and about 20-minute drive in the other direction to the Museo de Antropología or a 45-minute walk. I do recommend Hotel Geneve CDMX and look forward to staying there again.

The hotel was great and has some marvelous aesthetic qualities. Only complaints are that the restaurant food there was very disappointing and honestly the cocktails from their bar were also subpar. On the bright side their bar is quite interesting in how it’s decorated and their live music is terrific. Overall I was pleased. Price is not cheap.

Excellent choice for my first trip to Mexico City. Close to a lot. Very safe. Metro is a few blocks away. I have walked or taken the metro and not Ibered yet. Had a wonderful massage at the spa. Live music in the bar with an amazing singer the night I arrived.

Historical and beautiful. The lobby and other community rooms are incredible. What an excellent esthetic. The rooms are basic, but we didn't go to Mexico City to spend time in the room. They were clean and comfortable, and that's all we cared about. The breakfast in the court yard was the highlight. incredible.

This place is absolutely gorgeous and I felt very safe there. It is an old building so the plumbing is a little slow. No complaints though. Will stay here again.
