The location is great in the center of the old port. The nearby restaurants and attractions are friendly and easy to walk to. The hotel has two attached restaurants, Pincette and Gaspar, that are convenient and friendly. The hotel staff were great with luggage assistance, directions, and accommodations. One issue is that some of the rooms, although accessible by elevator, include additional stairways while transitioning from elevator to room. Staff did mention that some of their rooms do not require this stairway access. Overall, we enjoyed our three-night stay and would book again on future stays in Vieux Port, Montreal.

Excellent hotel in the perfect old town Montreal location. Excellent staff, especially Terry. The MOST comfortable bed in which my wife and I have ever slept. Bad point is there are LOTS of stairs you have to use to walk up, or down in the hotel. There is an elevator, but it is limited in the areas that it can go. If you are older, or have difficulty walking, do not stay at this hotel.

The hotel was excellent! Our stay was pleasant and the hotel staff were absolutely incredible. They were attentive to our every need and extremely courteous. Our room was beautiful and very well appointed. The only negative (if you can even call it that) was needing to go to a nearby hotel for the gym. We would absolutely stay here again!

Word of caution: lower-floor rooms on the non-river side of the hotel can be noisy, as the street below is full of cafes and tourists. Fabulous hotel. Staff and amenities were a grade above. We had one of the nicest evenings of our trip on the rooftop bar/restaurant. Wonderful view of the river and perfect location. The only inconvenience was that the property only had one elevator which could be a bit congested.

Great Little Boutique Hotel in old Montreal. Had a room with a view on the River and port. We loved eating on the roof Terrasse- open until September. Great breakfast with excellent croissants. Gym is 5 min walk away. Would definitely come back!

This property has a fireplace-lit warm cozy lobby, friendly staff and amazing restaurants attached. Nearby shopping is mostly touristy gift shops (some scattered antique and boutique) but the port and adjacent neighborhoods boast endless dining options. It’s an old building but the stone walls and charm make up for the odd steps up and down and slanting floors. Old world charm! Would stay again.

The hotel was in a great location and had historic characteristics while being updated with modern amenities. Our room was in an inconvenient location which required navigation of stairs. We waited 45 minutes for our valet to get our car, he said he was the only one on duty.

Great location. Beautiful hotel, clean and well kept. Both restaurants were very good. I really liked the toiletries and the beautiful sleepers, chocolates and the wine. Valet parking guys were very nice and professional. Thank you!

We were upgraded upon arrival,front desk was extreme helpful with recommendations. Our room was neglected by house keeping at 5pm so we had to call for clean towels and was supplied in a timely fashion. Overall a great location.

We didn’t get the room we expected, you need to specify when you book. Reception found this room for us. Came into the room next day and stepped on a piece of glass. They came in with a lovely group of cleaners, we had to go down to reception to wait. Staff was great giving me first aid.

Lovely and charming in its age. Beautiful historical building. The bathroom needed a better cleaning..... ring around the toilet water and the bathtub not entirely cleaned. Regardless, we would stay again. The charm was beyond words and the location perfect!

Gorgeous hotel, amazing views of the old port. Romantic and elegant. The architecture is stunning and rustic. This is the place to stay if you want to feel like you are stepping back in time yet you have all of the conveniences of a modern hotel. The stand up shower is OUTSTANDING. We had floor to ceiling windows that we just sat in and sipped coffee and wine in and people watched. Oh and did I mention the restaurants downstairs? Insane. Anyway. Highly highly recommend.

The hotel and the surrounding areas were great. Great central location for walking and biking in old Montreal. However, rooms at the back face a beautiful walking street that is quite noisey late into the night on Friday and Saturday night (bars close at 3AM). If you are on the lower floor like us, e.g. room 205, it is difficult to sleep with very loud music coming from nearby dance club. The front of the hotel faces the river.

Our room is on the 5th floor, just below the Terrace restaurant. It has a great view and wonderful room settings, but the noise from the restaurant clients is outrageous. All in all, the experience with the staff is excellent!

Excellent hotel in perfect area for us. Would go again. Bed was quite hard though and pillows very lumpy. Free bottle of wine which was very nice. Room was big and original.would take my own pillow next time

Very nice property. Loved the room - king with port side view. However being on the second floor the noise from outside was quite bothersome from partying on the street and in the restaurant below the window. Quieted down around midnight but then the sound of crashing wine bottles started at 6 am. Still was nice and fun!

Had some issues that could have been resolved by the hotel more professionally. We had requested adjacent rooms (and followed up with an email) and at check in they didn't mention anything but then gave us keys to rooms on different floors... We had requested a late check out for one room so baby could nap, but they also ignored this and when we inquired later they said the hotel was full (it was not as seen online). After dinner I took the very slow elevator up to our room to put overly tired baby to bed but the key didn't work. I went back downstairs but nobody was at the desk and waited and nobody was there. Turns out receptionist was around the corner outside somewhere. Finally got key to work and asked receptionist to bring new key to my wife who was finishing up dinner/paying the bill. They forgot to do this. If the communication and care / intentionality had been taken care of, this place would have been great. Very convenient location, clean rooms, charming look, etc.

This hotel is in a great location for a first stay in Montreal. There is so much to do nearby. The 3 restaurants on property are excellent. The staff was lovely and very accommodating to requests. Our room was having AC trouble and the staff made it right. Highly recommend for a stay in the Old Village

Fantastically friendly and helpful staff. Parking for check-in was easy and right outside. Overnight parking at the port parking lot 5 mins walk. Many very good restaurants within a few minutes walk. Will definitely stay here in the future.

What to say about the best hotel experience we’ve had in ages! The hotel was charming, centrally located and with the most knowledgeable staff. With amazing restaurants surrounding the hotel, and right near the water - we couldn’t have asked for a better hotel. We got engaged on the rooftop terrace and the staff surprised us with champagne, chocolate strawberries and macaroons. Montreal is the epitome of a metropolitan city with old world charm.

We had a wonderful experience staying at the Auberge du Vieux-Port. The location was perfect, right in the middle of Old Montreal, with all of its charm and history, essentially walking distance from restaurants, shopping, etc. The staff was exceptional, continually going out of their way to make we were taken care of/had everything we needed for our stay. Staring with the front desk, Terry greeted us upon arrival, and then walked us to his recommended restaurant for lunch. Bleeze, the reception supervisor, got us into the fully booked Gaspar restaurant, after a long day trip to Quebec City. And the Gaspar staff was amazing. Bottom line, highly recommended, and we would not stay anywhere else when future trips take us to Montreal.

We having been travelling for many, many years, but we have never seen this level of customer service. Everyone was amazing and did the utmost to make you feel special. Louise was exceptional as well as Yves. We chose the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. We will definitely be back! Thanks for your stellar service!

Extremely friendly staff was their best attribute. Hotel was in the heart of the historic district, which turned out to be filthy, grungy, choked with tourists, and unsafe (we were targeted by a pair of pickpockets). It was incredibly noisy on the street below including the hotel’s outdoor restaurant. If you must visit Montreal this may be an option but we can’t recommend it.

My wife and I have stayed at the Auberge several times and have never been disappointed. Location in old town is excellent as it near all attractions, view of the port with walking and cycle paths easily accessible along with shopping, restaurants and pubs near by. All in all a great place with great staff.

We stayed for 4 nights. Loved the old world charm of the hotel. If you want splashy and new this is not the place for you. The bed was comfortable. The room was large with a very large bathroom and a fabulous view of the river. There is Nespresso in the room which is a huge thing for me. There are 3 separate restaurants in the hotel. The rooftop bar has a fantastic view and Gaspar adjacent to the lobby was fun for drinks or to eat. The street it is located on seems to be a bit run down but it’s not scary. Just needs some restoration. Overall we were extremely satisfied with the hotel and would definitely stay there again.

Location wonderful. Hotel is in the middle of old Montreal within walking distance of restaurants and shopping. We ate at Gaspar’s one of the restaurants onsite. Food was delicious and the atmosphere lively. The hotel staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. Uber pickups were 2 minutes or less at the hotel’s location.

While we didn’t receive any perks, we liked this property for the location and the wonderful bed with Frette sheets. The negative was the breakfast that was served at their Lobster Bar restaurant. Truly bad. Dry toast, no butter or jam, overcooked omelet and salad with no dressing. The coffee was very good though.

What a lovely hotel! Great room, great staff, great bedding, highly recommend. Brunch at Gaspar was excellent, the concierge provided dinner and drink recommendations (Modavie for dinner - known for lamb and live musician. Coldroom speakeasy for cocktails.)
