They didn't accapt debit card for security hold which meant having to use atm. A little surprised that they no longer advertise their proximity to village. Tip... there are much cheaper parking available within 2 blocks than hotel. Recommend the garage with entrance on Rue Providence and St Hubert

Everything almost perfect..except the parking entrance..my experienced after checkout and about to leave,someone blocked the driveway and took me 35 mins to wait.Went to guest service and its not helpful at all, seems like they cannot handle the situation too..end up to teach them what to do. Hotel premises should put sign outside dont block the parking entrance.

The hotel has a parking inside the facilities and the dialy fee is pretty expensive. Is central in the sense that walking 20-30 mnts will get you to center city amenities. The entrance might be confusing because the same facilities are two hotels in one. Some floors are assigned to one and others to another brand. There is just one old and tight elevator. The room was clean with all the basics, except the blower which was broken. We reported it but never was changed. You'll have a 50-50 chance to like it or not. This depends much of your expectations of your stay. I would not recommend it to friends in the future.

Beware of “parking” if you have anything other than a small car, plus it’s uncontrolled so people park anywhere and blocked us. Shower had lukewarm water and breakfast is light continental at best plus they never put it out on time but …its really well price and located, room are modern and clean.

Housekeeping should NEVER be knocking on a door well before checkout time when the Do Not Disturb sign is up. What’s the point of the sign if it isn’t respected? Hotel guests are not meant to be on housekeeping’s preferrred timetable when not checking out late. I then felt rushed to leave. The property should also include a disclaimer that parking is limited and very tight. It makes more sense to park at the cheaper public garage down the street.

Room cleanliness was poor. We found blood in the sheets. There was water infiltration which made the carpet wet. We have not heard back from the staff, despite our requests. No answer by phone and inability to speak to a manager. When we left, an employee left us the manager's contact details in order to discuss the situation. We did not hear back from the manager despite our requests.

Mold on the lamps, curtains and walls. Parking was a nightmare. Staff was not helpful at all said they were going to come check the room after we complained but after 30 minutes nothing. And we only got our money back for one night. Do not go there.

Boxspring had bed bugs in it. When you first get there you'll see that the neighbourhood isn't so great. It's next to an abandoned bus station/park with lots of homeless people. It's not as upscale as the pictures make it out ot be. But there are lots of amenities only a block away on St. Catharines atleast. The bathroom is very nice, but the rooms are much older than they look in the pictures. The room has a distinct smell to it. Not quite bad but strange at first. I discovered the bed bugs my third day, after waking up itchy. The bedding wasn't being changed each day, despite housekeeping making the bed and changing towels each day. It would probably help. They also didn't accept debit for the deposit even though the listing said they do. I tried to get a can of sprite from the pop machine in the lobby and it gave me a room temperature can of ginger ale for $3. The room would have been fine for the price if not for the bed. I'm not happy about having to check all my belongings for bed bugs.

The room wasn’t as nice that as it was displayed on online, the bathroom was very outdated, the phone didn’t work, stains in the toilet and bathtub, there was also a lot of noise from construction. What I liked most about the hotel was the location. Probably won’t stay here again.

The lobby is dark and gloomy. The front desk is understaffed. The "breakfast" was very limited and unappealing. Elevator was slow. Ground floor hallways were poorly maintained. The room itself was fine and adequate for a one-night stay, but I was awakened by loud construction noise outside at 7 am.

First, Empire Suites and the LeLux hotel are the same place, just on different floors. It's in a good location, close to the Berri-UQAM Metro station and at the start of the gay village but walkable to the Quartier des Spectacles I splashed out and took a full suite, which was a waste: the sitting room had two chairs and TV, a place no one would want to spend time. And while there was a well equipped kitchenette, there were no dishes or cutlery -- bring your own. As well, the lamp beside the bed wasn't working and there was only one trash can in the whole place -- beside the toilet. I asked for another one, which did not appear. The free breakfast was basically cereal, toast or buns, not worth eating. Finally, the photos made the suite look much better than it was. In conclusion, this hotel seems to have big ambitions but poor execution. I wouldn't stay again.

Clean. Staff was nice. Close to the St. Catherines strip. Only thing is, there was no mini-fridge in the fridge cupboard. So we paid for a room without an amenity which was disappointing as we needed a mini fridge.

My room was at 63degrees all weekend. When I asked at front desj\k how get more heat, I was “sympathetically” told that it was not possible since hotel was on a single system. i find this hard to believe. Also, the ceiling lights in the living room was not working as well as the TV (which could very well be a lack of “how to” instructions. I will not be staying at this “luxury” accommodation again.

The people staying at this hotel are SO noisy ALL NIGHT. The staff told us it would stop at 11 pm and when we asked them to make it stop they didn't do anything. They stopped answering our calls after two of them. Apart from that, the room was clean, no mold in the bathroom and no bed bugs. Though it was FREEZING cold, especially in the bathroom. We didn't have breakfast during our stay, we didn't know when and where it was and anyway the other reviews said the food wasn't good so we didn't bother. So in summary, we really didn't sleep well at all, everyone keeps banging on doors and screaming in the hallway and the staff doesn't do anything about it. The room was clean apart from under the bed and the bed itself I'd suppose, since there was a small stain on the sheet.

It took almost 45 minutes to check-in. Online Checkin didn’t work. Front staff was very rude when asked for assistance. Dirty curtains with food on it. No additional shampoo, conditioner or hand soaps received even when we stayed for more than one night. Small elevator that takes forever to arrive. Elevator was very dirty and smelled. Never staying here again. I don’t normally do any reviews but this place needed one.

Not sure if this is going to get to the attention of someone who can assist. I would like to express my extreme displeasure with the Empire Hotel during our visit this past weekend. It took 90 minutes to check in and once finally at the counter, 30 minutes to actually find my room. Once found, it wasn't what I had requested (2 double beds) but a Queen and a lousy pull out sofa. They still charged full price though. I would expect a discount at least but after 2 hours we just wanted a room and left it alone at the time. The customer service was brutal during the wait and pretty much everyone had the same challenges when they finally got to the desk to check in.

I made two bookings on back-to-back days with Empire Suites. Upon check-in, the front-desk staff told me I needed to pay an extra $300 for both my rooms overall (on top of a $250 security deposit), even though Expedia didn't show anything outstanding. When I tried to ask where the extra charge came from and why, I got no helpful answers or any explanations from the staff. The key cards were also unavailable for the first day, so we needed to be escorted to our room by staff. My 1st room was a Queen Bed w/ Sofa Bed on the top floor which was fairly nice and clean. The 2nd room was Standard 2 Double Beds on the lowest floor, and had stains on the bed and poor lighting. Bathrooms were decent/clean but toiletries were very minimal, and one of the rooms had a bathroom door that didn't lock properly. The room was on very cold AC settings, but seemed to be adjustable. Plenty outlet options, although the outlets on the lamp bases did not work. The TV channels did not work either. The breakfast did not seem to be high quality, and no staff checked for breakfast tickets either. There is one small elevator for the whole hotel. The front desk didn't always have two staff (sometimes none), and both before/during my stay, it was impossible to reach Empire Suites on the phone. The location is not on the best street, however it's close to metro stations and busy restaurant streets. Overall, not the worst experience, but definitely could have been much much better, so I would not recommend.

When I arrived, the Lady told me my reservation was cancelled, my surprise!!! I checked all over on Expedia and I didn't had any notification. After few minutes of searching my reservation went from cancelled to "I can't find it"??? I asked her to look into her pile of printed paper and check if my reservation is there. She told me no need it won't be there. After waiting 1 hour and looking started to look for and other accomodation. Suddenly she told me that she earlier, mixte réservation and give my reservation to someone else. Ask her to give me the other person's room. For I don't know what reason why but she told me no can't do that and a manager is looking at something for me. After 1h15 of waiting I final got a room.. why lying to a client we went from cancelled to I mixte up reservation???

The location was very convenient in relation to the Metro System. The hotel is only about a block from the Berri-UQAM station, which services the Green, Orange and Yellow lines. We were there for the Gran Prix, which this gave us direct access, as well as easy access to Downtown, Old Montreal and Chinatown. Plus it is only a couple of blocks from restaurants on St. Dennis and St. Catherine. The beds and room were small. The room was a little funky smelling the first night, but the Front desk was helpful and House keeping did a good job. Parking on-site was nice.

Great location. Good food and dining nearby. Unfortunately construction and access was ridiculous with having to cross a plank to gain access. Yes it was a plank and it tipped up just like a pirate ship. Someone had to stand on the other end so you didn’t go flying off.

This was our third time staying at Empire Suites. The location is great for us and rooms are very reasonably priced, the on site parking is a plus. The check in went extremely well, the young lady was very friendly and accommodating. The business room was large and comfortable, the marble bathroom was beautifully designed and luxurious. We are already planning a return visit. We highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

I had to wait until 4 pm to get the room, but they were kind and kept my luggage.Breakfast is free but it's really bad... they have very little variety, they put out very little food and people have to wait for it to be refilled.

Paid an extra $50 for breakfast which was not worth the cost. All they had was toast, pancakes, cereal & coffee. Paid my deposit in cash and they didn't have change for me until the next day. The location was central but there is a lot of construction taking place so I would advise booking outside of neighbourhood.

The hotel staff was not helpful During our breakfast I saw a member of their cleaning stuff come and grab a croissant, she didn’t use the thongs, she used her bare hands The washrooms near the breakfast area were disgustingly dirty It was not a pleasant stay at all

Reception staff and housekeeping staff are welcoming and friendly. That was very much appreciated. As for the 'Carb' breakfast, I strongly suggest they add eggs to the menu and perhaps some fruit. Spoke with the supervisor/manager - not happening. Reason enough for me not to return there.
