Great stay in St Paul’s. Lovely hotel within walkable distance of old town. No bar (aside from restaurant) and gym tiny.. felt cramped with 3 people in it. Room was spot on and so clean and tidy. Would return but would have liked bigger gym.. that being said location was amazing so would compromise on gym!

Great neighborhood for restaurants, shopping and historical sites. Dining room is closed right now for renovation so had to find local eateries for breakfast. Hotel offered breakfast on the second floor but very expensive, should have been offered for much less.

Hotel St Paul is just a really nice hotel. Didn't seem like a ton of amenities, but we really only slept there. The rest of our time in Montreal was spent sightseeing and dining.

Great location and friendly bilingual staff, clean rooms and dimly lit hallways; easy walk to Old Port, but also means the area is very tourist-driven so food/restaurant prices may reflect this. Only valet parking available at $42/night plus tax. Rental bike stop right outside hotel, convenient for bike rides instead of taking a car.

Check-in was efficient. The promised complimentary cocktails were unavailable as the bar was closed. We asked for a room upgrade but the room we were given was just okay. The king size bed was very soft, the carpet was tired, and the tv very small. If this was an upgrade it was disappointing. The location of the hotel was great, surrounded by excellent restaurants, a fabulous bakery around the corner, and a short walk to connect to the Montreal underground city, ideal in the winter.

Beds were not the most comfortable, but the atmosphere is fun, there’s a gym and good restaurant, and it’s a good location-around shopping and restaurants and walkable to the Old Port while being quieter at night.

Every staff member I dealt with was so kind and polite. The vibes of the hotel were so modern and moody. Love my experience. Wish there was hotel parking but we used a pay for parking lot down the street. Would have liked a better mini fridge. Overall great experience!!

It's centrally located for our needs. But it definitely needs some TLC - bathroom tiles were dirty, carpet is worn out, some fixtures barely attached, shower curtain had blood stains - yuck. Obviously no attention to details and cleanliness :(

We loved that it was within walking distance of where we wanted to be. The rooms themselves were spacious and very nice but felt it could be a little cleaner, especially the sink where there was mould in the corner. We also really missed not having a coffee pot or a microwave especially considering the price we paid per night. The lobby was not as elegant as we expected and the elevator and hallways were very very dark and the floors had dark brown carpet that needs replacing. I think the best way to describe it is that it looked a little tired. We took the taxi to the airport rather than Uber because they had a set price but upon arrival we were charged seven dollars more. Having said all of this we found the staff lovely and we were happy to be right in the middle of old Montreal.

Great location, excellent staff. The interior of the room did not meet our expectations, mostly cleanliness, there was visible dust in the bed frame and in the corners, the furnishing was tired - the price for this conditions should be much lower.

The staff was standout at this hotel. Always friendly and very helpful. Few disappointments however that are noteworthy - bed sheet with blood splotches, tub/shower that took over an hour to drain, leaking faucet and overall musty smell in hallways and room. Also no fan in the bathroom so that could be part of the reason for the smell. Room itself was clean albeit a little rough for wear - scratched hardwood from furniture, stained carpet, etc. View was very nice.

Check-in was supposed to be 3:00 pm. We were initially told there would be a 10 or 15 minute delay as cleaning staff was performing the final inspection. After several other assurances that it would only be another 10 minutes we finally got our room just before 5:00pm. Our travel companions got their room 30 minutes after us. Cleanliness was not the greatest; the bathroom floor and countertop still had smears and stains on it. Not what I’d expect for over $400 per night.

Good location and very nice staff front desk and restaurant. Rooms are not sound proof and the sink is difficult to use (too shallow). If you can get it cheaper it’s a good deal but not super premium place.

The person at the reception is nice, but without the power to intervene or change anything in particular. The worst room in recent months! Most uncomfortable bed, back pain afterwards. No view, the window with dirt towards a so-called connecting staircase between two hotel bodies. The mattress, the bed are extremely soft, because they are probably old. The air conditioning very strong and non-stop, and it gave us headaches in the morning. The hotel posted a price and I paid almost $500/night for nothing! Not even enough water in the room, no parking space, no valet, no suggested parking!!! The price is comparable to Birks, but the conditions are far from all these!!!

The location is excellent and the building looks beautiful from the outside. The room was spacious with high ceilings and very quiet, which I did appreciate. That said, for the price, it didn’t live up to expectations for me personally. The room felt dated and could use some updates and a fresh coat of paint What really bothered me was getting a random $10.35 charge on my credit card after checkout for minibar items... as if I wouldn’t notice. The front desk staff were friendly, and valet parking was offered but pricey, so we parked nearby for half the cost. Overall, nice area and convenient location, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to stay here again, given all the amazing hotels in the area.

Great location! Very walkable neighborhood with numerous dining options with a few short blocks. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and it wa SO quiet. I couldn’t hear any noise from rooms next door or hallways. Slept great!

Smooth calm check in, and client service was impeccable. We needed to use the pull out couch and the staff made it up for us and quickly brought extra towels when needed. Roo was beautifully appointed and spacious. We will certainly stay here again.

The hotel is very nice but the service was poor. We booked a room for 4. We got in late after a 6 hour drive and the room was not set up for 4. There were no extra sheets/covers or pillows for the pull out couch. We called downstairs and they sent someone 30 minutes later and they could only give us sheets because the person who had the key had already left. The room was also not cleaned while we were out. The safe was broken and no one was sent to fix it. The hotel is modern and clean but the service is lack luster for the price.

I will not be going back to the Hotel St Paul and I would not recommend you go! Rude and inhospitable front desk staff. especially on check-in and checkout. In addition to paying a $300 deposit for an express check-in - I had to pay an extra $200 for being an Expedia customer. A total of $500 depot for 4 nights. The room was cold. Never above 20 degrees C/ 68 degrees on cold Montreal days and nights. I asked for this to be taken care of on our first night, and someone came up and said it would go up - just would take time. It never did. On the thrid night asked again at the Front Desk and was ignored and told they wouldn't do anything. On leaving, the front desk attendant only said I will email your invoice. Not thank you, safe travels, nothing. The room was not clean- there was hair in the tub and no conditioner in the shower. The rug had dirt and curbs on it. The third night - no housekeeping service and the fourth night - housekeeping stopped by at 6:30 pm with fresh towels, that was it. LOVED Montreal - but will never go back to the Hotel St Paul.

We were really excited to stay at Hotel St Paul after reviewing the listing - the photos depicted the hotel as an elevated and beautiful hotel. And as One Key Members, we would also get a perk. However upon arriving, the staff sternly informed us that they do not honor Expedia perks and have told Expedia to remove the perks. They also tried to charge us for the rooms even though we had already book on Expedia. The hotel room itself was in sad condition - nothing depicted as in the hotel listing or photos. It's in desperate need of a renovation. The bathroom grout is stained with tile missing. The carpet is stained and the bed sheets were thin and uncomfortable. The cabinet doors around the AC system were falling off. We paid $600/night for 2 night stay and did not think this was a fair value.

Terrible hotel. I would never stay at this hotel.The front desk was unfriendly. The staff were in chaos. We were locked out of the elevator and our rooms before check out time. I'm still awaiting a response from an email two weeks ago. Stay away, there are lots of great hotels in the area.

The hotel is amazing. Great design and very comfortable. And the staff are nice. Its just that the hotel has stopped honoring any of the VIP gold features that they advertise on hotels.com. When i checked in, i was told that i wasnt entitled to a room upgrade, nor was i going to receive the free welcome drinks. Both of these are entitlements of gold hotels.com members. I know that the upgrades are based on availability. I checked on the site when i was at the front desk and they had several higher category rooms available. Given that i paid over 600 dollars for my room, already a premium, i was not impressed So when you go to this hotel, dont expect that your loyalty and status matter to them

The hotel had an authentic charm that appealed to my idea of what a boutique hotel should be. Staff were all excellent and professional. The buffet breakfast was well stocked and our waiter Gerermo was very attentive. Overall a very nice hotel. I would recommend to others seeking out of the ordinary accommodations!

We had booked a suite, and that was very nice. It's generally quiet around the hotel, and we slept well. It was not so nice to be so close to the offices across rue St-Paul, makes you feel observed. The one downer was the breakfast "buffet". $35 was way too pricey for the quality and selection. Others seem to have felt the same way, there was only one other couple there with us. And in the elevator, another guest told us about a good breakfast place nearby. The students taking care of the service were very nice, though.

Valet parking on arrival very helpful, also finding our room ready early got our stay off to a good start. Room was comfortable and we enjoyed the city view. Also took advantage of the full breakfast in elegant surroundings.

Stayed for 5 nights St. Paul hotel is a very nice and quiet hotel, very clean very simple…They upgraded us! And they gave us a free drink in the bar!Because we were vip guests on Expedia.The bar is fantastic for alcohol lovers.The breakfast is a little bit expensive because it’s not that big.I suggest you to go to a very near cafe that is called “press cafe”. The hotel is very near to the old port (10 mins walking).The lobby is nice . The only problem with the hotel is that in the afternoon ,most of the time there are no receptionist on the desk. The lady that was cleaning was so friendly and the room was very well treated.The rooms are big and the bed too.
