Stayed 1 night

Upon arrival I was told our room had no water and was handed a paper to take to a different hotel, where they had booked me an alternative room. That hotel, “Hotel la Residence” was a 20 minute walk further from where our event was, and it is NOT a hotel we would have agreed to stay in. However, we were not given a choice, or any advance notice. We had booked a room with a queen size bed and free parking, this hotel was a double bed and street parking. When my husband met up with me with the car, we had to park in a parking garage for an extra $35. We were late for our event. The hotel la Residence had a small, filthy shower, the tiny bed was comically creaky, and the place was so noisy we could not sleep. Hotels.com attempted to get us a refund or partial compensation for the “downgrade”, however the hotel did not respond. The whole thing was handled poorly.

Amazing staff and very clean - well worth the money. Am already booked to stay when I come back next.

Our stay was unforgettable, but not for the good reasons. I think the last Time the carpet was vaccuum cleaned, the Montréal Canadiens had just won the Stanley Cup. We took photos to document the unparalleled thinckness of the dust. New forms of life could emerge from it.
