Hotel Rosita

Staff were friendly. Pool was great. Good food. Respectful of local wildlife. Location was good.

The location is amazing as it’s on the malecón. The sunset is incredible from the pool and you can walk right out to ocean. It is a bit nosier due to being right on malecón but earplugs solve that. No pool towels are provided which was a little frustrating.

Rooms ok wifi good food ok. Drinks expensive

The location of this hotel could not be any better. Walking distance to everything. Only negative was the pool was a bit small & extremely busy with not enough loungers.

Overall great place to stay. Only thing that could improve is parking. Hotel doesn’t have any parking and have to park on side of hotel and hope they will be an open spot. We stayed a week and were lucky but most won’t be as lucky

Great location, lovely pool - not huge, but just big enough - We did not like or first room, but we upgraded to a bigger and better one with a partial view ion the ocean! The breakfast of coffee, baguette and portion of fresh fruit was OK, but there are plenty of options for an extra and quite reasonable cost. And the hotel hugs the ocean, though few go out to try to swim in its powerful waves, and everything you might want is right there on the malacon.

The Rosita is not located on a sand beach so we had to rent chairs elsewhere on a beachy area. The pool was fairly small, chairs uncomfortable. The staff and our housekeeper were very pleasant. Great location on the Malecon. Close to several shops, restaurants, and bars.

No, I would absolutely rather stay on the beach in a hurricane than stay here again. There was mold everywhere, my shower leaked all over the floor, the sink didn’t drain, it was obnoxiously loud all the time, you could hear what the neighbors were thinking, and my door had giant gaps, you could see into the hallway. Plus the matter of the constant banging. It was a really stressful stay, I wouldn’t recommend it not would I stay there again.

DO NOT STAY HERE! We stayed here for ONE night and I have bed bug bites all over my arms and legs. I have always been paranoid of something like this happening and as soon as we saw our room I just KNEW it had to be a place that was dirty enough to have bed bugs. I went against my better instincts and stayed quiet. We came home the next day and I was itchy so I’m thinking mosquitos. NOPE. I had it confirmed by a doctor. Freaking bed bugs. Absolutely disgusting and Expedia cannot help you when you complain because of “restrictions and regulations.” A hotel cannot put you in a situation like this so idk what regulations they are talking about. For Expedia to even have this hotel as an option says enough. This Hotel is absolutely disgusting, the staff is horrible, it’s in a noisy location, and the rooms are completely outdated. Do not waste your time, energy, or money here. You will absolutely regret it.

The Rosita is in a great location! At the beginning of the malecon and right in 5 December area. Excellent value for the money. Bare bones room but clean, comfortable beds and warm large shower! Would stay again. Skip the drinks and food, lots of options very close!

Everything was excellent except the room size was small. No towel hooks or racks and closet difficult to access due to table in the way. No drawers.

The hotel is great, rooms are big and nice. The people working there are great. Awesome location down town and next to the ocean.

Rooms were recently updated. Sliding glass doors to balcony were very sound proof. Room was large with plenty of storage space. Great ocean views. Excellent location.

Great location near Malecon. Small room but had everything needed except a hair dryer. Pool is very small but ocean view is nice. Room prices are a good deal for what you get.

Great location. Make sure you book oceanfront room. It’s a 10$ difference but there’s zero noise from the busy street. The only negative thing about the stay is the continental breakfast shenanigans. You assume breakfast is included. In reality it’s 3 pieces of bread, orange juice and 4 pieces of watermelon. To get access to this mega fulfilling meal, you need to have a little battle with frontdesk who eventually will provide a coupon for it. One day at a time. If you show up 10:15 am , this coupon is not valid. Overall, I’d recommend this place. Rooms are great, location is very convenient

Perfect location, friendly staff, clean and affordable accommodations. Loved it. Beds not very comfortable, wifi weak during peak times, shower pressure nil.

My room was large with a nice balcony! The WiFi sucked,every time you left you had to reconnect when you returned. The pillows were horrible, need to be replaced!

We really liked the convenience to the malecon and beach; however, we hated the extreme noise from the street till the early morning hours. The front desk staff were terrible. When we called for them to send up a maintenance man , they gave us the Mexican kiss off by saying that they would talk to their partner and then just hang up. They did that again when we tried to change rooms.

Property feels old world Mexico. Really nice grounds. What I didn’t like was that there are no hair dryers in rooms. No screens on sliding door or windows and that was a problem because we lost power in our room one day and it was quite hot. The “free” breakfast was a complete waste. Also, know that they date and name the coupons, so make sure you use the right ones. They made a big issue out of us accidentally using the wrong ones on day 2 and had two staff come to our table to tell us this and it seemed they acted like we were trying to pull one over on them. The breakfast consisted of a few slices of fruit, either pineapple or watermelon, or some unknown fruit. The “toast” was what looked like a baguette sliced and very lightly toasted. Came out cold and then then you got a glass of OJ. So don’t look too forward to that free meal. It’s a waste of time even sitting down for it. After that day, I just kind of had a bad feeling about the staff. There were some staffers that stood out. One being Fernando at the restaurant. He was very kind, always. And another girl at the restaurant, but don’t recall her name. The housekeeping came in twice while we were there and they did a great job. We got there at 3 and our room was not ready so we ate at the restaurant. The food was not good and the prices were very expensive, IMO. Also, how about ONE vegan option. Just one.

Es un hotel agradable sin embargo la comida no es buena, el desayuno que incluyen es pésimo te lo intercambian por 99 pesos para hacerlo bufett pero la comida que ofrecen es muy simple y sin variaciónes. Las recamareras son excelentes personas pero las de recepción tienen un carácter horrible nada agradables.

Besides the initial bell boy and the woman who cleaned our room, everyone else was not very nice downstairs. I don’t know if they were homophobic and had a problem with us or just plain rude. The bare minimum was visibly a huge inconvenience to them. Also, our hallway was flooded and no one bothered to mop it up the entire last day. Also, our key kept having to be replaced due to it deactivating. Food was tasty, just be careful on the price changes everyday if you upgrade. Margs were delicious. Architecture was classic and cute.

We love the Rosita. This is our second stay. The location at the end of the Malecon makes us happy. The staff is always wonderful and the view is stupendous. It’s such a treat for us to stay here.

Very close to the beach, easy and fast check in. Staff is helpful. Would definitely book again.

The Good: Staff, Location, Pool The Bad: Shower was cold, beds were uncomfortable and there was MAJOR road construction right outside our balcony. A good value for a short stay (2-3 nights) but we chose to leave because the beds were uncomfortable and we couldn't relax with all the construction.

Reception is terrible and overly rude..don't book online because they won't give u a room even if u show them your booking confirmation..they will make u wait and sweat in your travel clothes til u pay in cash...they pretend not to understand u when they r trying to screw u...then amazing enough after u pay they suddenly speak English...

This hotel is like coming home to us. Everyone is so helpful and cheerful from the front desk to the restaurant and maids. We just keep coming back. For us this hotel serves all our needs.

Close to Malecon. Right on the ocean so there was a beautiful view.

Location was amazing. Plenty of restaurants in the area that range from cheap to expensive.

It was sufficient for a couple nights. Next time we shall try to get a ocean view!

The price is excellent for what you get. We were in a room facing the road and it was very noisy. Ask for a quiet room and I’m sure you will be happy

Perfectly located directly at the start of the north end of the Malecon. Well priced and clean modest hotel. Had everything I needed for a great stay

Was just ok. No early check in and FREE continental breakfast was not very exciting. Cantaloupe and bread. No protein at all

All was good except the restaurant. Food was horrible. Service was very slow. Food was cold and even after returned was barely warm.

Restaurant, pool and patio were terrific, very accessible and inviting. The staff at the Rosita Hotel were very accommodating and pleasant. We arrived 4 hours before check-in and were able to have our bags securely stored while we dined in the restaurant. They had our ocean view room ready for us within 2 hours of our arrival. We were extremely happy with our room and would definitely go back to this hotel.

Restaurant is a disaster for service. The breakfast that is included was a few slices of cantaloupe and 2 left over buns from the night before. Trying to buy breakfast was horrible ended up walking out after 40 minutes of no service.
