Overall it was a nice place to stay.However the main drawback back is there isn’t any lift in the building.So we had to carry all the baggage up and down which was very uncomfortable and inconvenient.Everything else was excellent.

The hotel was fine. Room was a great temperature considering it was a very hot day. Bed was comfortable. Gym was compact but good. Pool was good. The sauna was good, albeit located inside the changing rooms which disappointed my wife as she wanted us to go in together. The breakfast was ok. The "Juice" was watered down so it was almost like an apple had been waved at some water and they'd called it cloudy apple juice. We went to the restaurant for dinner and were down a table very quickly then preceded to wait for 20 minutes for someone to take our order. It wasn't that busy, I'd estimate two thirds of the tables were empty. The problem was that there was only one pad for taking orders. But there were two members of staff and both were bringing drinks to tables when it would have been far more efficient to have one taking orders. As it was, we left and went to a local pub in walking distance. As a hotel, for the price I can't fault it. But the restaurant is poor and the spa facilities should be made more clear.

We were met with a warm welcome at Reception and a straight forward booking in process. Asked to complete our car reg details on the desk tablet to avoid having to pay a charge and swiftly on our way to our room. There didn’t appear to be a lift but that wasn’t a problem for us. The room was very spacious with tea/coffee and biscuits provided. There was also a small fridge in the room which was a bonus. The bathroom was clean and tidy and the shower was big. The water was hot but the water pressure was not very good. It just meant washing shampoo out took a little longer but no big problem. The shampoo, body wash and body lotion were a nice touch and left us smelling and feeling clean and fresh. We also used the swimming pool which was a glorious 30c. Unfortunately the spa was out of action but it didn’t spoil our use of the facilities. The changing rooms were both clean and tidy with a sauna, toilet and showers provided in both the male and females. There was also a gym available but we didn’t use it on this occasion. Overall a really pleasant stay at Holiday Inn Swindon and we would recommend it if you’re looking for a place to stay just a short drive from the designer outlet mall.

Air conditioning broken (had a maintenance sign flashing), no fans, too hot to sleep. Also I booked on the fact that it had a pool and spa, but it was closed for swimming lessons the entire window I had available during my stay, without forewarning. I stay in a lot of Holiday Inns but this is by some distance the worst I've ever stayed in.

I booked this hotel due to the onsite swimming pool. Having 2 young children who wake early, i thought it would benefit us to have the option of swimming in the morning. After arriving in the fitness suite at 6.45am, we were informed the pool is adults only until 9am and then an aqua aerobics class was scheduled from 0930 til 1030, thus providing a 30min window for swimming. Having plans for the day this was not convenient or catering to our needs . Had the lack of early morning availability been available on eithe Hotels.com or Holiday Inn websites, i would have booked a different hotel.

We enjoy our stay, the pool and sauna were very good although we think the fact the saunas were separated into male and female should be stated when booking. We enjoyed a meal in the hotel one evening , it was very nice and the service was exellent although being charged £9 for a glass of wine was a bit much. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

I have stayed at this hotel previously and rebooked as my children enjoy using the pool. After placing my booking I received a message from the hotel via hotels.com to state that the pool was closed for a maximum of two weeks from 18 August. I responded to state that it was unfair to inform a customer of this after booking and have not heard anything since. I raised it during check in and the receptionist said that hotels.com needed to resolve the issue as it was booked through them. The sign on reception and the information sheet handed to us on check in stated that the pool would reopen on Monday 1 September at the latest, however the receptionist said that it wasn’t opening until Tuesday 2 September. I would have booked alternative accommodation if this information has been provided prior to booking. Very disappointing end to the school holidays for my family. Other than the above, the room was ok and the breakfast good value. The parking was free.

I have stayed in many holiday inns all over Europe & this was the worst by far. Shower ceiling had mold everywhere. Marks on the bed sheets & the quilt even had holes in it. Very disappointed. Every other holiday inn I have stayed in have been excellent.

Awful stay this has to be the worst holiday inn I have ever encountered. Smallest bathroom ever. Grubby room limescale all over kettle phone not working reported and not fixed over my three day stay tv channels limited no itv?? Staff were not bothered and hardly on the desk. Bar staff didn't know what a shandy was? Pool dangerously overcrowded. Locked out of my room faulty key card

Wonderful hotel. We were visiting from North Yorkshire for a friends wedding. The room was clean and the air conditioning was a god send! My daughter loved the swimming pool and the staff were very friendly and she loved chatting to them. The restaurant was good, slight delay in my daughter’s food, but they whipped it out fast once I’d asked where it was! The play corner was also very much enjoyed (some pieces missing from the toys but still enjoyed by her!) and breakfast was very nice. It was amazing that she was able to eat free whilst staying there too. Would 100% come back when visiting our friends again.

Hotel itself was okay, nothing amazing and the hotel is quite dated. Good amount of parking. First night was fine until 8am the following morning when scaffolding was being installed outside below our room. So incredibly nosy and not just the nose from the actual materials but from the workers. Had to call reception to ask them to tell the workers to keep it down as this had been going on for a hour on a Saturday morning. Spoke to reception to ask why we want informed scaffolding would be installed this early in the morning as they obviously knew, were met with many excuses and defensiveness from the front of house manager on duty at that time, named Swapnil Ramchandra was quite defensive and it wasn’t needed, when all they needed to do was apologise if they didn’t know the answer and find a solution which was to move us to the other side of the property were there was no scaffolding at all. The rest of the stay was okay after this but not happy with how defensive this staff member became when we asked them the simple question of why they didn’t let us know about the scaffolding upon check in. My husband expressed his frustration with their reaction and lack of communication amongst their them and then we were eventually moved to a different room.

We have stayed here a few times. Very pleasant and helpful staff. The hotel seems like it needs an update as it looks very tired on the inside. It’s clean but a lick of paint would freshen it up Also the water pressure in the shower was shockingly low. Quite terrible in fact. But overall a good hotel.

Rooms good, clean, enough space, nice basic pool, breakfast good, bar area nice, quiet when in rooms Sofa bed extremely uncomfortable (very thin mattress - could feel springs/bars) so sadly did not sleep well at all. Main bed not as comfortable as other hotels we’ve been too but ok.

The room needs a freshen up. the bed was a small double at best and so uncomfortable. Also, the radiate was making a constant tapping noise all night. We phoned the reception to try and get the radiator sorted, but nobody answered. Check out wasn't until 12 pm, but we left at 7 am as we had been up all night and couldn't stabd being in the room a moment longer

All you need to know is that this location was formally a motel and that it opened in 1971. The premium room appears to be a normal room with a fridge in it. It had the smallest bathroom I’ve ever seen. Good luck using the toilet. Heating didn’t work. Single glazing. Really shocked. Two nights for £317. Wow.

No lift so not convenient with young children. Nighttime receptionist was unhelpful. It says breakfast to 10am but stopped at 930am. Breakfast was therefore a rush as we got there at 920am. They said take what you want now as they are clearing up. It was overcooked at this point, lack of options and plates were burning hot. Overall a poor experience.

The staff at this hotel are friendly helpful and give amazing service. The restaurant meals were all wonderful and we had no reason to eat anywhere else. The room was clean with plenty of space. Thank you Holiday Inn Swindon for a memorable and amazing stay.

We have stayed at this hotel a few times now. We return because of the location - easy access from the M4 and excellent base for the area; plenty of free parking spaces; comfortable rooms and beds; the breakfast (always a plus when it is included in the room rate) - wide choice of continental and English breakfast foods / drinks, plus waffles, pancakes, omelettes made to order; the pool - lovely warm way to start the day with an early morning swim, jacuzzi and sauna if you wish; the staff - we have come to know staff members who greet us warmly and eagerly await our return. Thank you once again for a super stay!

Staff were welcoming, I had a phone call to my room to see if everything was ok. Young man in bar very helpful. I chose this hotel because it was near the hospital where I was visiting an elderly relative. There was no where I could go for a short walk, as the hotel is situated on xx dual carriage way. Still it fulfilled my needs.

Breakfast wasn’t great. Had to wait for cooked options to come out. Then it would run out again and we had to wait. For an all you can eat breakfast feel they should keep on top of filling the breakfast. Had to ask for cereals to be topped up also.

We will now always stay here if going to this area. It was so brilliant for kids, including the hotel hiding 3 little eggs for the kids to find in our room! Also the food is AMAZING!!! Honestly like I was going to a London restaurant.

The staff who were the were excellent. We had a long wait at checking in and thought the reception area very noisy and busy. We were given brief instructions and the key card for our room and booked in to the restaurant for an evening meal which was a part of our package. The room is excellent. Couldn’t get hot water but everything else is good. Ongoing to the Restaurant for our dinner, we waited to be allocated a table but I told the restaurant was closed because of an event in the next room. We were told we could have a meal in the bar Where there were few very low tables and totally un suited to that purpose. After putting this to the member of staff she agreed and allowed us to order from the bar but sit in the Restaurant area and brought us our meal. It took forever but for marks to the lady serving us For solving the problem and delivering it couldn’t have been easy for her. The hotel itself is somewhat disappointing very corporate, extremely shabby externally and in need of renovation throughout. Good parking but won’t be coming again. First time using holiday inn - and probably the last. There may be a reasy for scarcity of staff so will leave things there.
